Selma's Chicago Pizzeria & Tap Room

BEWARE!! Had been coming to Selma's for 11 years and never had an issue with my orders or food. I received a doordash gift card and decided to order online. I CLEARLY ordered my pizza without PEPPERONI and even paid doordash fees to have it delivered and all totally $50 when the pizza is actually $26 if we would have just driven 15 minutes to eat there. Anywho the RECEIPT SHOWS NO PEPPERONI and the manager DID NOT want to admit to their mistake and said it was NOT their fault so they could NOT REMAKE IT or REFUND US. Doordash did not want to refund us either because it was SELMA'S Fault for not looking closely at the order. I will not be buying from Selmas they were not understanding and did not provide a resolution. They did not care and shoved the problem over to doordash when the issue was WITH THEM ADDING PEPPERONI when it did NOT SAY TO ADD the pepperoni. I'm so upset and disappointed.

Fantastic lunch specials. We like to get a half sandwich, salad and fries, but they have choices. The associates are all terrific. Well knowledgeable about what they serve, and attentive. We often come with our two big dogs, there is a wonderful outdoor patio and the associates always bring a big bowl of water for our furry friends. I love the holy cow sandwich, tender juicy thin sliced sirloin steak with grilled onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms topped with melted provolone served on a fresh house made roll. Depending on the season i honestly enjoy a side sald with ranch dressing to accompany my sandwich and always always always I enjoy the crisp beer battred french fries. On cold days I absolutely enjoy the creamy house made tomato bisque soup, it's an out of the park home run! My granddaughter absolutely loves the minestrone soup and the fried calamari, my favorite appetizer is the house made spinach artichoke dip served with house made French bread! Selmas pizzas are absolutely wonderful! They make everything in house so it's easy to get pizza exactly how you like it, and if you don't see what you're looking for on the menu, just ask they can make it your way. You can't go wrong with Selmas. The kitchen is bright and open easy to watch the chefs at work. They offer great kids parties where the kids get to work with the chefs learning and creating their own pizza! The dining area, the bar, the patio and restrooms have delightful Chicago and Wrigley Field decor, and are always very well maintained and clean.

Ordered the extreme meat pasta, expecting a fair ratio of sauce to pasta, felt like I paid $20 for a bunch of noodles. I would urge Selma’s staff to be a bit more generous with the sauce, isn’t that what a customer is paying for? And how much more would it actually cost them to add another scoop or two of sauce. See below, the picture on the right is what’s advertised on their website, the picture on the right is what I received. Very unsatisfactory. No extreme meat for sure and definitely not enough sauce.

$4 beer, $4 soup and a $14 Calzone with 2 toppings. I really liked the Honey Blonde House Brew and the soup was very good - with the exception that it should be served with some type of bread. The bar tender asked me right away if I wanted a dinner roll and after the first was done I asked for another which was not an issue. Overall the place has a great atmosphere, low playing current and past rock music from various time periods. The tables are clean, the people are friendly, the waiters, servers and hosts are on point and I will be back. Unless my Calzone fails, they earned 4 stars. They lost 1 point because I was asked to wait for the manager to place my order at the restaurant and they never came. When I walked over to the bar, they gave me service right away.

Our deep dish cheese pizza was a real showstopper! Topped with fresh, chopped tomatoes, it arrived piping hot and perfectly cooked. The pizza dough was baked to a perfect crisp on the outside, while remaining chewy on the inside. The melted cheese was rich and creamy, complemented beautifully by the burst of freshness from the tomatoes. Each bite was a delight, with the combination of textures and flavors melding together in perfect harmony."

What’s up with all the staff hanging out behind the wood partition?? I had to go ask for our salads, for more balsamic dressing and later…ranch dressing. Each time, having to go ask someone behind this partition. We’ve been coming here for YEARS!! I don’t leave tips….for no or poor service!

Ordered takeout (small pedal to the metal Chicago pie, turkey sandwich, meatball sandwich, and party ship cookie) $60. After reading the reviews we were excited for chicago pie. The crust was more of a deep dish bjs pizza (kinda soggy soft and geasy). The meatball was unfortunately bland. The beer battered fries with the sandwich were soggy and kind of a weird menu item. I'm sure they would have been better dine in and not take out. The cookie was burnt and hard to bite through. Overall the only item that tasted as expected was the turkey sandwich.

The food here is good, and the service is usually fine (sometimes can be slow when they are busy). Its close to my house to come watch football and not as noisy as some sports bars. Where it all goes downhill is how hot they keep it inside. It was 80-85° last time I was here and I was sweating through the whole football game. My friend (who usually runs cold and who also does hot yoga) was also sweating. We didn't bother to complain because we already know what the answer is, but we did overhear other people complaining about how hot it was. The staff will just insist "the air is already on". Its something I have reached out to the company about before, hoping to resolve the issue so we can still enjoy going there in the Summer. But I got the same response, that they do run the air and their AC bill is very expensive. However, as someone who personally works for an HVAC company, I can tell you that if you are running your air and it's only cooling down to 80°, your AC is NOT working properly. After eating here my friend and I had to go into walmart to cool down, where the AC was working great. Selmas has the potential to be a 5 star place, but they certainly would need to get the establishment to a decent temperature.

Good food and service. They were decorated for the holidays throughout the restaurant so that was a nice touch. It's a good place to bring families around the holidays.

This pizza joint is located in a big plaza along with several other food places and a Lowe's. Lots of parking. They have a small patio and the interior is partitioned with a bar on one side and the dining area on the other with one side of the dining space having tables and the other booths. I arrived solo for an early dinner while they were still having happy hour prices. They are known for their deep dish pizza so I ordered a small one with pepperoni and black olives added to the cheese and tomato. Aside from a tall glass of water I also chose a glass of a red blend Kendall-Jackson wine. As an aside for any wine novices, I personally have found that vintner to consistently produce a decent, middle-of-the-road wine that family restaurants often have on their menu; you can't go wrong with that label. Deep dish is thick and takes a little longer to prepare but the wine kept me busy. Once the pie arrived, a slice was placed on my plate for me (the small size has four pieces total). The crust had the perfect crunch and I absolutely loved this pizza. With one slice left my attentive waitress brought a to-go box to my table but I waved her off; I ate the whole thing. It'd been a long time since I had deep dish pizza and it was a pleasure to devour.

Message to management, reducing the amount of fries you serve as a side in order to save money is obvious and lame. This is literally saving you *pennies*, plus now you have to wash another dish. Optics are real. Food and beers are always great. This is just a dumb move on management's part.

Ok, this time we are sitting in the restaurant as I write this. We got a table in the dining room. I go to the bar to grab a beer. There's 2 customers sitting at the bar. The bartender is just talking to a customer at the bar. Once I stand at the bar and he looks at me he walks by, grabs dirty dishes and puts them where they go. Then goes to the computer then grabs some wine from the cooler and pours those. Sets them out for a server. Then walks past me again and does something, then comes back by again and pours more wine. Never once even acknowledging I'm there. I waited a few minutes then just walked out of the bar. Go back to dining room where my family is and no server yet. There's only 6 tables of customers. 4 tables in the carpeted area (where we are), and I believe 2 tables in the other portion. We waited at least ten minutes before a server came over, even though numerous employees have been walking around and even gone to the table next to us. I will say, as most employees here, she is nice. Regarding the bar, for those that wonder why I don't order a beer from the table, i used to, however it has always taken forever to get that beer. When I would originally get a beer from the table server it would take forever which is too bad because there's been plenty of times I would have gotten a second beer, but knowing it would take so long and having to wait forever for a server, there's no time. Update: the server asked if we wanted salads to come out before the food, we said yes. About 20 minutes later someone brings our pizza out. lol. So it took 20 min or less to make which explains why the bottom crust was not fully cooked and goes against what the owner of Selma's had once replied which is it takes a bit longer than 20 minutes to make and cook one pizza. We have no plates. We ask for plates. She's says sure. Minutes later she comes back with another one of our food items and no plates. lol. Then the salads come out. On top of that one of the salads was completely incorrect. When server asked about the food we did let her know about the salad simply to let them know they are screwing up, no need to remake it. The server stated she didn't get to see the food before it came out. Well here I am again pointing out the clear issues here. No quality control whatsoever. Cooks are running the show here, management and owners completely aloof which explains the mess that is Selma's in RSM

Service a bit slow, but the food is very good (we've tried pretty much everything on the menu). Fair prices for the quantity of food

Served my party cold soup and French fries. Terrible service. Had to ask for orders they didn't bring. We eat in here once a week. Trying somewhere new next week.

We ordered take out. The pizza was great, but the pasta was way overpriced and not worth the money. Way too much pasta and way too little sauce. See pictures below: what we thought we ordered vs. what we actually received.

Always a favorite and just why the service can make a big difference the success of the business. The service is always friendly, they recognize me, know my orders, and this last time I visited even made a new suggestion for the pesto pasta and my goodness was it delicious. my server recommended that a little feta cheese on top and she was spot on. This is a great place.

Love LOVE LOVE this place. Came here a Sunday for brunch and got the bottomless mimosas and the Di Vinny pizza. We got the pizza deep dish style and the wait was definitely worth it. The mimosas were also very good! 10/10 would come back. I'm only taking a star off because service seemed to be really slow. It took our server about 15 minutes to just take our order.

Awful! Over-cooked pizza crust, barely there pepperoni, too much sauce. The chocolate cookie was undercooked.

Great location and looks very nice from the outside. We stopped by for a graduation celebration on a Wednesday and had no problem getting seated. The Good: Service was very good but there weren't a lot of other people there so not sure how it would be when it's busy. The Bad: The pizza is awful. We ordered a large, thin/regular crust and a medium thin/regular crust cheese pizza. The crust tastes like cardboard and has that same consistency and is like leather on the bottom. It was about on par with a frozen pizza from a box. Definitely won't be going back. Waste of money.

Inconsistent quality for the same pizza. I have ordered 3 times now and every time it's a surprise and not a positive one. One time the pizzas were too salty, the other time it had thyme added to a pizza that usually does not have it and one time the pizzas were just burnt. Service is friendly but at the same times quality control is horrible. How do you allow burnt pizzas to leave the premises? The price is costly so expect the food to be of high quality. At this point, I don't know if I will give them another chance.

Ordered takeout - no online option unfortunately... La Vinny - Chicago style deep dish but only personal size 10" which was fine because it was only me. Good ingredients: pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. Sauce was okay. Dough was regular. Overall good eats and kept well for leftovers too. Caesar salad a nice sized portion and lots of green leaves too. Had dressing on the side - it was also good, think and creamy. Good stop. That's it. No online ordering

This place was really good. We are picky with our pizza and theirs is pretty good. We had a few other items and all Were delicious. The thing my husband loved most is that they had a selection of the beers he likes. He's a wheat beer guy but doesn't care for the typical Shock Top or Blue moon that everyone carries. When they have German beers, it's a place we tend to frequent. The service was really good and we left talking about when we'd be returning. It's a little bit of a drive but we'd go return because we had such a good experience.

Great pizza and beer! Highly recommended. Service is always excellent and food is cooked to perfection! This place is close to my work so I eat here a lot! Love it!

Took the family to the Rancho Santa Margarita location on a Tuesday night. Had to wait to be seated at a nearly empty restaurant by the host that seemed a little inexperienced at her job. After being seated, our server was very friendly and informative. We ordered the first round of different beers (which was delicious) also ordered the sampler. The best was the wings. Probably one of the best wings I had ever. So nicely marinated and seasoned. The pizza pie was also very delicious and full of hearty flavors. The chicken salad was another item that was unexpectedly delicious. Overall a great place with excellent food with a decent amount of beer selection. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back again.

This was not it! We love deep dish but the tomato sauce was so much that we unable to eat more than one slice. We actually had to scrape the top and even then it was so much sauce making it beyond sour. Unfortunately all we ate was the crust and threw the rest out. They also forgot the ranch sauce on side. Really disappointing

Ordered the large chopped salad and 12 oz of jalapeño ranch dressing. The salad was not chopped only the cheese and salami the ranch was runny. Tasty but not like previous chopped salads.

Sunday Breakfast!!!! (Football season only) Was definitely hesitant since I couldn't find any reviews or photos of the food besides on their Instagram that is a quick video of photos. Husband and I tried to give it a shot to catch some football and breakfast. It was amazing and they offer the full menu too! They offer bottomless mimosas which we didn't participate in but wanted to share for those looking for such things. My husband got the build your own breakfast pizza with egg, jalapeños, sausage and bacon. Absolutely delicious! No sauce or extra seasoning was needed. He did get the salsa on the side which wasn't the best but again they are pizza eatery so I wouldn't doc them for that. Because it's my favorite and they can execute a simple dish, I got the Turkey Bacon Avocado on a sun dried tomato wrap with the aioli on the side. I also requested the breakfast potatoes which I 100% prefer over the beer battered fries. I just only wish more were served. Maybe replace with the same amount of fries? Dip whichever potato style you get in their Jalapeño ranch but if you don't like spice their regular ranch is just as good! We plan on coming back for breakfast for sure!

Just took my niece and 10 of her friends here for a Kids Make Their Own Pizza and Kitchen Tour, they had an amazing time! Avery was absolutely wonderful and made this a great experience for all the kids. The tour of the kitchen is very exciting for everyone but especially if your kid is interested in cooking. After the tour they all received dough and were told how to make different crusts. They got to put their own sauce and pepperonis and then the pizza was cooked for them. This was a great way to start the summer and was a great price.

I have been coming here for 17 years -Wow! It's like Cheers for me only better. I love walking into the tap room and seeing Madi's smiling face as she asks me what will be my drink of choice be today. Madi and pretty much everyone in the tap room are always there for a good conversation even when it's super busy. Let's not forget when they host special beer nights, that is always a fun event. I hate to admit I only ever sit in the tap room but it's my place to go cause I know the food will always be good, the crew always friendly and helpful. Great place to watch football and pretty much any sport you like. Great place to meet up with family and friends too! And I'm proud to admit that during COVID while other places shut down, not Selma's, they survived and found a way to provide a safe place for us to go out & eat and even get some supplies. I'm a forever fan

Pizza is good, and they have a great beer selection In tap. They always have a Russian River beer on tap too! **If you want the best service at the bar, go on a night when Zack works. He's extremely helpful, and always polite**. My wife and I always enjoy a bartender that cares - Zack is your guy!

I believe the quality of their food has declined. We have gone to Selma's for years. We ordered a thin crust pepperoni pizza last night and a frozen pizza would have been better than the $17 one we received. The crust seemed premade and was cracker like, there was about a two inch parameter with nothing on it. Maybe 5-6 onions and hardly any cheese. Unfortunately, when our family wants pizza for dinner, Selma's won't be a choice.

First time here because BJs was so crowded as always. I think pizza here way better. Was seated quickly on a busy evening. Smaller restaurant but lots of booth and table seating. Menu had so many selections I was happy about that. We got a pizza, Buffalo wings (my favorite. These are amazing), pretzel bites and the free cheesy garlic bread for checking in on Yelp. Score!! I also tried the house honey blonde beer so delish. Our server was so nice and checked on us plenty. Looked like all staff working as a team and helping each other out. Inside is split into two areas - the restaurant area And on other side of wall is the bar. Outside they have a cute patio set up. Lots of parking available.

The restaurant is not big, not small, it's perfect. The seating is comfortable whether you have 2,4,6, or more. The staff is above and beyond wonderful! The food is a home run!! Great place for a quiet meal or drinks with friends!

Inconsistent Quality We ordered the deep dish Pedal To The Metal pizza and it was undercooked. You could still taste the flour and the toppings came out barely cooked. This is very disappointing as this is the third time we ordered from them. The first two came out OK. Since this was ordered for pick-up, it would be too much bother to go back and have them resolve the problem. This makes me hesitant now to order from them again. Update 4/4/2024: Carolina, the general manager got back to me re: experience with my last order. She asked me to give them another chance and sent me a gift card for another pizza. I am definitely going to give it another try as this shows that they are willing to improve their process based on customer feedback. This alone deserves 5 stars as my new rating will show for excellent customer service.

Deep dish was SOOOO good! We ordered a regular deep dish and it was good and of course ate it all but realized that we really wanted the Chicago style! We ordered that ToGo and I'm so glad we did! Will definitely go back

Went to Selma's for the first time, and it did not disappoint! Great environment and great service. Our server Tatumn was very informative and showed great customer service! Will be coming back soon.

I was trying to introduce my girlfriends son to Chicago style thick crust pizza. We arrived at the store for lunch and were greeted by a server. We were seated and served quickly. We got two small pizza's, one thick crust and one thin. One was Da Vinny and the other was the Meathead. Both were delicious. The thin crust had a crispy crust - we asked for it to be extra crispy. There were plenty of toppings and overall it was delicious. The same applies for the thick crust pizza. The only criticism I have for the thick crust was that it too was extra crispy, I think it should have been a little less crispy. Overall, a great experience at Selma's.

Service is great and the girl who's usually the bartender on Tuesday nights works very hard and is really attentive. Often the food is either really good, or downright disappointing. Really like the chicken wings here, they are consistently good and their buffalo sauce is delicious. The pizza is hit or miss. Sometimes it's perfect, other times it's burned. One thing I definitely will never order again are the chicken tenders. They are below fast food quality... like Tyson frozen chicken nuggets from the bag quality, and are definitely not 100% white meat chicken as stated in the menu.

When our family is in the area we always stop by for a pie. Love supporting local businesses with good food. Keep it up!

We come to Selma's for the Tuesday night trivia most weeks. The service is always amazing (Shout out to Carolina)! We always get a thin crust pizza and boneless wings, both good. They have Pliny the Elder on tap a lot, but a good selection of beers and seltzers as well

Food as always is delicious but we waited an hour for a table. It was because they only had 2 servers working on a Saturday night. Sadly that seems to be the norm for a lot of places these days. Nobody wants to work for a living that or the establishment is severely picky about who they hire this the lack of help. The poor hostess deserves a hand for her calm demeanor. She was definitely on top of things when 4 adults yes adults in there 40s decided To just walk to table and sit themselves down. I cannot believe the gall of some people thinking they can just cut the line . The hostess was very pleasant even though they were extremely rude and condescending to her. She deserves a raise. The staff was pleasant, kind and amazing working through the stress of being short staffed. I can only hope that at some point they received bonuses for their hard work. Food fantastic and tasty.

Lauren and Dillon were great! Great local spot and whoever made my salad tonight also did a phenomenal job. Always great to support local business and was a lively place on a Monday.

I ordered a large pizza pie. Wow, what a fantastic pizza it was so delicious. Selma's is the best.

My wife and friends returned to Selmas having been disappointed several years ago. My party was cautious about returning but I convinced them. What a difference in the restaurant we found today. Young man at the front desk was courteous and gave us options on sitting, brought menus and greeted in a friendly manner. Restaurant was clean and so were the restrooms! Surprise of the evening was the wait person named Zack. Amazingly attentive and gave polite and excellent service to all. Everyone was impressed and pleased!! Beverages, salads and pizzas were ordered and served with pleasantly and with care. Kudos to Zack and the management staff! A great improvement and we will be back!!

Maddie was our very attentive server. She offered and brought garlic cheese bread. She knew all about all of her products. Super personable.

Pizza was fantastic! Knocking off one star due to service. Came in to pick up an online order, the front desk had a sign that said go to the back desk to pick up. At least two different employees saw me and didn't greet or even acknowledge me. They weren't the "front desk host" etc. She eventually showed up and helped, and was super pleasant. I get it, you're the guy who cooks. Or the guy who takes phone orders. Or some other role or responsibility. You can still take two seconds to ask if I've been helped, or at least greet me. I just needed to pick up a pizza that had my name on it that I could literally see 3 feet away.

First time in the evening. Highly recommend by friends as to a great Chicago Style Pizza, and let me share we weren't disappointed. The pizza was fresh, hot and loaded with flavor. Our server Maddie was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. She even brought garlic cheese bread knowing this was our first time in. The restaurant was warm and inviting and people seem to know one another. Great experience, good value and yes we will be back! As Maddie said before we left see you guys again soon..

Yummy pizza and wings! Salad is crispy and fresh, good sauces and dressings! Staff is helpful and sweet, I always take forever to decide what I want because it's all so nummy and I wish I had more tummies to put their food in! I usually go with thin crust, their ham and pineapple is my favorite pizza and my husband always gets pepperoni/sausage/mushroom pizza and eat it all as fast as I can and it's so good I can't help myself!!! Selma's ROCKS!!! Thank you for providing!! PIZZA TO THE PEOPLE!

We love Selma's! I took my little guy there for lunch on a slow Monday afternoon. Tatum helped us and she was incredible. She chatted with my four year old about the new toy he brought with us and he felt so special. The food is always great and so is the service. 10/10 will absolutely come back!!

This is NOT Chicago deep dish pizza. As a Chicago native, i decided to take my son so he could see what Chicago deep dish pizza was like. We ordered the Meat Head. Unfortunately, Selma's was a far cry from the real deal. The crust wasn't buttery, and the sauce was not only off, but it was also excessive. Part of me wanted to go into the kitchen to show them how it should be done.
