3 Places to Try in Seattle This Weekend | Eater Seattle

"I found the Central District’s new noodle house bustling and an excellent addition to the neighborhood, with bold, expertly wielded flavors in dishes like roast duck crispy rolls with sambal hoisin, papaya salad (get the pork belly version), caramelized pork fresh rolls with Hanoi fish sauce, a curry vermicelli bowl, and wok-tossed noodles; nothing here feels reckless—everything is just dialed in, including the original cocktails." - Megan Hill

Google
It was our family’s first time to dine here, and Sen Mee did not disappoint! The food is incredibly fresh - it is so hard to find fresh Thai food and I am so glad we found it here! The fresh rolls were delicious, but the calamari was seriously some of the best we had. Our pad Thai and fried rice were excellent. I also got the combination plate with the roast chicken, papaya salad, and sticky rice - amazing flavors! Our server Lynn was so sweet and accommodating of our family. If you want super fresh food and flavors that pop, don’t hesitate visiting Sen Mee!

Google
I loved this place. It’s very laid back, you even get your food on paper plates and bowls, but the food is excellent! The waitress was attentive and answered any questions we had. Best Pad Thai I’ve had in a minute! I also loved the chicken won tons. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to go back.

Google
Such a fun spot! The interior is super cool and beautifully decorated definitely gives off a great vibe as soon as you walk in. The food was top notch (seriously delicious!), 🤤 and a big shoutout to the owners Nana, Jen and Lin for making the night extra special. Had the best time hanging out with them can’t wait to come back to Sen Mee Noodle!

Google
I went to SEN MEE Noodle House and honestly - I wish I could give it five stars, but I think I ordered wrong. Total user error - not blaming the restaurant at all. I got the chicken wings thinking the sauce came on the side, but it turns out the wings are pre-sauced with sweet chili, and the ranch is what comes on the side. I wasn’t expecting that, and I’m not a sweet chili person - I just wanted plain wings with dipping sauce. Again - that’s on me. I should’ve asked. Also… it’s a noodle house - and I didn’t order noodles. I know. I saw a bunch of wing photos online and got distracted. The wings themselves were juicy and well-cooked - just not what I was vibing with that day. I’ll definitely go back and try the actual noodle dishes next time - and I’ll update my rating if those hit. For now, based on what I tried, it’s a solid four stars. It wasn’t bad at all - just not quite what I wanted. Looking forward to round two!

Overated! No Flavor at all! I had specifically asked (as a new customer) which meals are the most 👉 Flavorful & 👉 Authentic ... I was told the Mee Hang. The bowl had ramen noodles, bokchoy, shrimp, chicken, dumplings, and bean sprouts. Therefore, having all the meats in there you would think that the bowl would have some sort of flavor. It was provided with some sauces on the side but those sauces didn't have much flavor and they were just basically hot/spice, other than crushed peanuts. This was the most 😢 unflavorful noodle bowl I've EVER had, Literally taste like bland broth. The chicken wings were fine nothing to rave about. Now the reviews said the 🥭 Mango Sticky Rice 🍚 was the best... THAT IS SO FAR FROM THE TRUTH... IT IS TRASH! 🗑️ The mango sticky rice was served hot half of the rice was white the other half appeared to be grayish green with no explanation of why it was that color, It had very watery coconut milk and some sliced mango with black sesame seeds. It was by far the WORST mango sticky rice I have ever tasted in my WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE! 🤢🤮 ✔️ Clean Restaurant ✔️ Nice Staff 🚫 Meal I had Not Tasty at all!

We were excited to try this restaurant. My fault for not zooming in on some of the photos on the Google business listing for this establishment to notice all dishes served on paper plates. We ordered 2 appetizers, crispy chicken wontons (very good) and calamari (rubbery). When the appetizers were served in carton containers and plastic forks were provided, we were disappointed. Okay, not a big deal, for the appetizers, however the Pad Thai and the LoMein served in paper bowls was just too much of a disappointment for $16 entrees. This is NOT a self service counter dine in eatery, as you are warmly greeted at the door and a hostess sits you at a table and brings you menus and serves your meal. It is unacceptable to use paper plates and bowls to serve meals to dine in customers under this traditional restaurant setup. I do have to say that the servers were very friendly and attentive.

Google
First things first: the ambience is dope. Indoor and outdoor seating available. I chose the indoor bar. The owners made some recommendations and got me acquainted for my first time. Pad Thai was delicious! Perfect mix of sweet and savory. I got the shrimp, and it was perfectly CLEANED and cooked. Tom Kha was piping hot and full of flavor 😋 Authentic Thai in a beautiful spot with passionate, friendly owners. What’s not to like ❤️ I will be back… with friends!

Google
AMAZING RIDICULOUS!! Top 3 Pad Thai I've had, ever! The owners were amazing! Talking and interaction was top notch! Dining area clean, nice little counter or regular seating! The menu offers a few varied dishes, but not overwhelming at all. I feel each dish is given time and attention, based on having the staples, and done right! Heat level is adjustable, but I always go HOT HOT! BEEF PAD THAI! Silky beef straps, amazing noodles with just the right bite, sauce was amazing. The Tom Yum with glass noodles is a must The broth was exceptional, savory,spicy,warm,tingley... could drink cups of it! The summer rolls with shrimp were large and tasty, and the peanut sauce was thick and mellow that it didn't take away from the roll. This place is a 100% must try no matter where in CLT you are.

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding pho! I'm not huge fan of pho but this was outstanding. Along with the sangria which in saturdays are 5 dollars!!!!

Yelp
Sen Mee Noodle House is a restaurant that serves Southeast Asian food, which is pretty neat. Parking can be a bit tight as the restaurant shares the parking lot with another place. There is a decent amount of seating and the vibes were nice. It took some time for our food to come out, perhaps because there was a larger group ahead of us. My friends and I got the Pad Thai with Tofu, Mama Pad Kee Mao with Chicken, and Boat Noodles. I ordered the Mama Pad Kee Mao with Chicken and I guess I did not fully read the description as it came with ramen noodles (?) rather than the wide flat rice noodles that I am used to with this dish. I think it was a unique twist and it still tasted good. I tried a bit of the Pad Thai with Tofu and it was really saucy, although not my preferred dish. The Boat Noodles had a good broth! It actually reminded me of pho that my mom makes, but now I am wondering if her pho is actually boat noodles, haha. There were also some cool Asian inspired cocktails but we did not get any. I think this is more of a hip restaurant to eat food, but I think it does satisfy taste buds. I would come here again to try their Vietnamese Taro Spring Rolls as my mother makes these and I have not seen a restaurant have these on their menu.

Yelp
Overall good dishes. Make sure to ask for specials of the day, if any. I ordered the 'Khao Piak' - essentially a chicken noodle soup. Tasty with authentic flavor - beware of the amount of chili oil you put in. Made my soup very spicy! You can ask for hoisin on the side. Next was the Kaprow - good but normally would come with a fried egg on top. Would have loved to have that on there. Vietnamese taro spring rolls were solid. The papaya salad was a bit salty for our preference but the squeeze of lime helped offsets that.

Yelp
Aesthetic: Modern SouthEast Asian restaurant with a variety of noodle dishes, soups, and curries. My Favorites: The Tom Yum Noodle Bowl! Experience: I always have the best food here, they have my favorite Thai dishes in CLT. The Tom Yum and Tom Kha broths are to die for, I've ordered out and dined in, and they're always perfection. I enjoy that you can add rice noodles for a gluten friendly option. My husband loves the curry dishes. We also ordered the iced coffee and Thai tea, and loved them too. The staff is also friendly and makes us feel welcome. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
So, this used to be in the same spot as a ramen spot (I guess they went out of business) considering the location is not the best. Limited parking but it's next to a big parking area so you could also park there and walk far. The place is small but it is expected out of a building like that. The service was good, people were nice. The food was decent. We got the special papaya tray and hardly ate some of the toppings because it was too much. A little overprice for the portion. As well as the pad Thai and curry. Green curry didn't have any flavor in it but pad Thai was good. Drink prices are good too, this Thai coffee martini was delicious. Probably wouldn't come again but it was nice to experience it.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on Saturday 9/14. They were pretty busy but we sat at a table by the window. Service was ok. Not very attentive. They had one lady working, taking orders and one guy delivering them. It's a smaller space with about 10 tables max and bar seating. Outside of taking our order and delivering the food no one really checked on us. We ordered the crab Rangoon, calamari, chicken wings and chicken lo mein. The calamari and crab Rangoon weren't served very hot but had good flavor. I actually sent the calamari back to be remade which they had no problem doing. The lo mein on the other hand was served piping hot and full of fresh vegetables and noodles. I really enjoyed the dish and it was enough for us to split. Not sure if you're supposed to bus your own table at the end but the people next to us were so we cleaned off our table as well. All the plates and silverware are disposable so we just tossed them out. Overall, we did enjoy the food here. They could use some small improvements with the service but everything else was good.

Yelp
Wow, a great new addition to the Charlotte food scene! I feel like sometimes with Southeast Asian cuisine, there's a few basics that restaurants always have so it's so refreshing to see that Sen Mee is adding very authentic dishes that might not be available at other restaurants in Charlotte. We definitely had to try the boat noodles as we've heard many good things and we were not disappointed! They serve food in to-go style and paper containers so it's a bit more of a casual vibe, but don't underestimate their portions. I was so filled up by the end! The noodle to broth ratio was perfect and there was a good amount of protein (various types of meat) that I was able to have a piece with each bite. I've never had boat noodles before and the broth was so flavorful, but not heavy, and it also comes with fresh veggies on the sides (bean sprouts, jalapenos, thai basil, lime, etc.). I also really like having the seasonings/spices on the table so you can customize the spice levels according to your taste. Service was super friendly and efficient. You can definitely feel the love that they put into their food. I can't wait to come back and try the new additions that they're going to put onto the menu!

Yelp
This is the pad Thai you've been looking for!!! I think I've tried most places in Charlotte searching for the perfect pad Thai. I finally found it. I've been to Thailand and eight pad Thai many many times and traveled all around the world and I always try pad Thai at various restaurants. This is spot on. I had the shrimp pad Thai the sauce was excellent, which is what truly makes pad Thai . I got it to go, so I'm not really sure about the service. I ordered online. It was ready when it said it would be. The place looks like a very cute quaint restaurant. You would not suspect in the location. It is how Grateful of a restaurant this seems to be.

Yelp
I tried this place during lunch on a Saturday when they were opened for a week of two. Not a lot of people. Food was good and tasty. Pad Thai wasn't too sweet like other places. Calamari was delicious. The mango sticky rice was good but for 8 dollars+ I probably will not get it again for that portion. The service was fast and quick. The ambiance is very chill and relaxing. I hope they get more customers to come in.
google avatar

Patricia T.

Yelp
The broth to the boat noodles were flavorful and the beef to noodles/broth ratio was good. Same as the Pad Thai there was a good amount of beef (not too much not too little). I ordered the Pad Thai, it was good and on the sweet side and I didn't see any spicy options; although there were different seasonings and spices on the table for you to add as you please. Service was decent, they seat you and take your order with a cool interior and good window seats.

Brenda H.

Yelp
The customer service was great. The server came to check in to ensure nothing was missing. It wasn't busy when we went, so that contributed to our food coming out pretty fast. We had wings and they were very delicious! It's on the hotter side so if you don't like spicy like that, maybe skip it. We then had beef pho, which was ok. It was different from other places I've been too. It had like pieces of beef stew and what looked like and tasted like meatballs? And then a few shaved meat pieces. The bowl was half way only and is on those to go containers. I don't think it was worth the prices for the amount of food we obtain. We had another soup, which I can't remember the name. It was good, but it did not contained much protein or toppings. I had the Thai tea which was not very good. It was more like water down, it could be the creamer they use, but I was not a fan of it. The people are great but it was just not worth it for the amount we paid and the amount of food we received.

Yelp
Sen Mee Noodle House has some of the best food and portion size I've ever had! I started with the Tom Yum soup, which was perfectly spicy and full of flavor. The crab rangoons were crispy and delicious. For the main course, the chicken Pad Thai and fried rice were on point--full of flavor and satisfying. The BEST fried rice I've ever had. I washed it down with a white peach soju, which was super refreshing. Best part of it all - the portions were large enough to make multiple meals out of 1! The overall restaurants vibe is trendy and cozy with lots of sunlight and greenery. Perfect for a lunch, or date night location. Lastly, shoutout to the owner Jenny for taking care of us! Highly recommend this spot for tasty food and a great experience!

Daniel V.

Yelp
The parking lot is shared and has very limited spaces in the front. There are more spots available in the back. I ordered the chicken Tom Yum noodles and a Vietnamese iced coffee. I ordered the kids pad Thai noddles and they enjoyed it. The food was good but nothing out of this world. The portions were decent, especially for the price.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was delicious! Great casual spot! Fried fish was a bit dry. But the noodle dishes were amazing!

Sherri G.

Yelp
Great food in a warm and inviting spot. They were very welcoming and the food came quickly. Nice crowd. Family friendly. Didn't mention the food was great.
google avatar

Self M.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Family that runs it was super nice! Have some good beers from over seas to choose from. Customer service was good. I got the pad Thai and the tom kah soup. No complaints. Big portion of the pad Thai also.

Yelp
Sen Mee Noodle House is my new favorite Asian spot in town. I have been here over ten times now, twice to dine and the other times to carry out, and it has never disappointed. First of all, the owners, Lin and Jenn, are excellent. They have an amazing attention to detail, commitment to customer service, and consistency that shines through with each experience. The first time I came in was on a Monday with my best friend, shortly after they opened for our weekly dinner. We ordered the taro spring rolls, boat noodles, and the Mama Pad Kee Mao with pork and some cocktails. Everything was delicious, but I fell in love with the Mama Pad Kee Mao. This is one of my favorite dishes at any Thai restaurant, and they do it so perfectly. I think the secret is the noodles. Instead of the typical wide noodle, they use a thin curly noodle (the shape of instant ramen) that soaks up the sauce and allows the dish's flavors to shine. I've also had spicy edamame, calamari, green curry, red curry, and pad thai, which are all delicious. My other favorite dish is mango sticky rice. The mango is always nice and ripe, and the rice is perfectly cooked. It's never too sweet and is always a great portion for the price. The ambiance is modern, clean, and casual, with excellent modern and Asian decor. Overall, 5 STAR experiences.
google avatar

Ni E.

Yelp
Staff was friendly. Used to come here often when it was the ramen place. As someone that grew up with Asian food, I was a little disappointed with the flavor. The nam khao was decent. But the chicken and papaya salad could've been better. The chicken tasted like tap water and lemongrass...
google avatar

My Fat Ass K.

Yelp
I really recommend the papaya salad and the pad Thai!!! Ask about their imported beers as well! They made our experience so homey
google avatar

Sean H.

Yelp
Discovered this spot after a bike ride. Close to Evergreen. Had the Tom Yum soup. Delicious. And spicy edamame was perfect. A great simple lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
Just had a chance to finally try Sen Mee Noodle house and not disappointed! Very flavorful and packed with spice - just the way we liked it. Portions are good in size and highly recommend an appetizer with your bowls as the prices are extremely fair This is an authentic but new style cafe/restaurant with a lot of cool hip decor on their walls and bathrooms Calamari, Chicken Tom Yum, Boat Noodles
google avatar

Carol R.

Yelp
Yummy green curry on a cold November day. Delivered hot and packed well. Would order again
google avatar

Sydney M.

Yelp
Overall love this place! I have been here a few times now and have always gotten the chicken pad thai and the mango sticky rice maybe once or twice. Mango sticky rice wasnt my fave and havent ordered again... but the chicken pad thai will be a staple lunch for me! A few Thai places Ive been to have always served dry pad thai, so I was STOKED to find this dish! Its delicious! Ive always called ahead for pick up, always putting emphasis on NO SPICE (Im a huuugeeeee spice wimp) but was in a training today at work and found they had an online order option! I was placing my order for my chicken pad thai, extra limes, extra scallions, etc and OMG am I glad I ordered extra limes. The spice options were: Mild, Medium or Hot. I ordered Mild, cause how hot can Mild be? Well let me tell you - its SPIICCYYY!! The extra limes werent enough as I was fighting for my life trying to eat this.. I ended up having to throw it away cause I couldnt eat it. Ill be sure to only call in my orders to request NO SPICE because its not an option online. I will be back! Food is delicious, but taking a star because of the forced options. This unfortunately was inedible for me, and had to throw away my meal... money wasted.
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
First time and not last time. The waitress answered my question about the dish I wanted to try. The owner also came by to make sure everything was okay. Delicious and friendly staff. Will try a new dish soon.

Emmet H.

Yelp
Two lunch visits so far. Just phenomenal! Planning to take my wife tomorrow night! Larb is fantastic!
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE Sen Mee Noodle House! Ingredients are fresh. Always enough for leftovers that are as good the next day. They obviously cook w love. Always my go to for carry out!

Marilyn M.

Yelp
So disappointed with the food at Sen Mee Noodle House. I ordered take out, Pork Lo Mein and Chicken Fried Rice. The Lo Mein was so salty I had to throw it out. The Fried Rice had a lot of oil in it, excess oil was also at the bottom of the container, oil from the rice. Just gross. Informed the restaurant all they said was "Sorry". $45 worth of food was a waste.
google avatar

Yeng V.

Yelp
We went as soon as it open. They staff were very friendly however all the foods we ordered were just ok. Nothing to brag about. The papaya salad was just sour. It needed sugar, fish sauce and peppers. The Thai boat was very plain. The broth was very bland. Not enough liver to enhance the broth. And for $14, the size was very small. The spring rolls were also disappointing. Ours contained more lettuce than anything else. A for effort but I won't be returning.

Kelli M.

Yelp
Food was delicious and service was friendly. Picked up a take out order. I got an order of Spring rolls, Vegetable Lo Mein, and a Hibiscus Iced Tea. All three were very good. Perfect addition to the east side and Eastway Square.
google avatar

Lorena G.

Yelp
Just a warning to people who can't handle a lot of heat. I ordered lo mein noodles with the lowest possible spice rating "mild". And it was still incredibly spicy. A waste of money because I was only able to eat a couple bites.

Karen C.

Yelp
First time coming here. The service it was really good,as soon as we walked in ,they were very welcoming . Food was so delicious ,that I forgot to take a picture . Great ambiance ,music was perfect . Highly recommend ,definitely coming back .

Tundy M.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, good environment, a lot of potential, but I had a few concerns. Being a person who likes to follow environmentally friendly practices, I was shocked that they use plastic utensils individually wrapped in plastic pouches. Every meal came on paper plates which made me feel I was in a fast food restaurant. Dishes looked wonderful, but each items we ordered had different flaws that I've never experienced before. We ordered spring rolls as appetizer. The peanut sauce came in a small plastic container and was so thick and sticky that I wasn't able to dip without lift the whole dish, so I had to use a spoon to scoop and put the sauce on roll. Spring roll itself was beautiful, crispy, and fresh. We also ordered 2 dishes to share: Pad Thai and Green Curry. Pad Thai was way too sweet and the consistency was very thick. Green curry looked very nice with different variety of vegetables, but had barely any taste. Never had this experience before with Thai food, so I was very surprised!! I hope we just came on a wrong day when they didn't have a dishwasher and had to serve everything on paper plates with plastic utensils, and the cook called out, so someone had to jump in. I'd like to come back and give this place another chance, and correct my review.

Kara K.

Yelp
Love this place and the women that run it. Great food at a great price. Super clean and fast friendly service.
google avatar

Doretha H.

Yelp
Quaint spot on a very busy intersection. I will start by saying this is the first place I have had to give me Sam's club plates for my appetizers. I'm not mad, I supposed those are recyclable. All of the apps were tasty. We tried the calamari, spring rolls, summer rolls and crab Rangoon. For our entree my not-so-mini-anymore got the boat noodles and I had the veggie delight with shrimp. His noodles were not to his liking, a bit too much mint in them for his teenage palate. My veggie delight was tasty full of carrots, zucchini and red peppers. I wasn't able to eat much of it because of the buffet of apps we had but it made a great dinner later that evening. The service was a bit slow even though the place wasn't crowded that Saturday afternoon and we didn't have much interaction with the staff once the food was received. That is no good when you put some chili oil on your summer rolls and need a bit more water! We both said we would come again and look forward to bringing others when we do.
google avatar

Roxanne M.

Yelp
Officially had the worst Pho ever here. Staff is nice, however the discardable plating and cups didn't add much to the experience. Water was self serve and you could clearly tell it was tap although they tried to mask it with a couple sliced lemons in the dispenser. Overall food wasn't much and honestly not worth the money for a dining out experience. Sitting on the toilet writing this review right after. Enough has been said
google avatar

Deb W.

Yelp
Just had terrific lunch with Oakhurst neighbors here today! WOW -we had a variety of appetizers (spring rolls, crab ragoon, fried tofu squares); curry, lo mein, pad thai, TomYum noodles -and everything was fresh, delicious, and flavorful with just the right spice levels (you pick spice level) and i also had the thai tea! All just excellent. Highly recommend trying Sen Mee Noodle house; definitely will be on our list for thai. Very reasonably priced menu for good sized portions as well as making small bowls ($6-8) available too.

Porchia M.

Yelp
The best Pad Thai that I've had! I don't do spicy so I get the regular. Every single time I eat here the food is delicious

Rafaella V.

Yelp
Yall need to tone it down on the plastic. Seriously I'm not trying to eat my piping hot soup in a plastic bowl. It makes me not want to go back. They even have plastic curtlery.. like cut down on your waste and get a dishwasher.

Morgan B.

Yelp
A great spot! We've only done take-out so far & it's been delicious every time! I usually get the Pad Thai.

Tracy T.

Yelp
I got a new job three months ago just when this placed opened so until yesterday when I didn't know they existed. On a whim I tried them and finally, I found a place that has the potential to be across between two of my favorite Rochester, New York restaurants I miss, Mamasan's and The King and I, one was Vietnamese, the Thai. I'll be trying this place much more often. Si far I've had The Boat, the Pad Thai and the Summer Rolls. Oh my, maybe I'll have them for lunch again today.

Monay S.

Yelp
The food was SOOOOOOOO FLAVORFUL. The broth in my noodle dish was absolutely amazing. The dining area was clean and bright, very inviting. And the servers were extremely helpful with helping me in selecting my dish. I'll definitely be back!

Roman F.

Yelp
Scrumptious dumplings and the best dumpling sauce. Awesome Pho, Amazing curry, and extreme friendly wait staff. Highly recommend.
