Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh Restaurant

​I had a great time here and highly recommend it for anyone wanting an authentic Klang Bak Kut Teh experience. The restaurant has a wonderful traditional atmosphere with interesting murals and history on the walls. ​Authentic Broth: The soup has a mild herbal taste with a very pronounced and delicious soy paste flavor. Unlike many places in KL, there is no "cheap" herb or heavy Kam Chou taste here—it tastes like a proper, traditional recipe. ​Traditional Serving: They serve the meat in the classic style where each specific cut comes in its own individual bowl. ​Generous Service: They provide free soup refills in a red bowl. The broth was so good I ended up requesting two extra bowls! ​Clear Pricing: The menu is straightforward, with meat bowls currently priced at RM 18.00 and claypot options also available. ​Overall, it's a fantastic spot for a high-quality, traditional meal with excellent service.

This bridge side spot in Klang served a comforting bowl of herbal Bak Kut Teh with deep flavour that was slightly bitter and sweet in a refreshing way. The pork knuckle and half fat meat both had a nice bite and the toupok soaked up the broth beautifully. The youtiao was softer than we prefer but the meal was still satisfying. Chinese Tea (Hot) = RM1.00 BKT Pork Knuckle 脚弯 (No Rice) = RM17.00 No Service Charges If you were to do a Google Search about Famous Klang BKTs, this Name "Seng Huat" will certainly come up regularly listed in Many Top 10 Lists.  It is also Affectionately Known as "The BKT Under the Bridge"  Well more accurately, its located BESIDE, not UNDER a Bridge as you can see. What is even more interesting is that apparently Seng Huat and the Historical Teck Teh are actually Related.  It is even located literally just 1 Street Away, a Very Short 100m that is Easily Walkable from Tech Teh.  According to the Really Friendly Lady Boss, apparently Teck Teh is managed by her 堂哥 Cousin.  Although related, these 2 people are Completely Different in Personalities as you will see. Even before I stepped in, the Lady Boss is actually standing right at the Main Entrance with a Big Welcoming Smile.  Green Flag!  Not only that, she even nicely recommend me to sit in their Aircon Area to enjoy the Aircon. Having said that, it was Raining rather Heavily that time  so I didn't mind choosing an Outside Seat for a More Natural Cooling Outdoor Feel.  The Rest of the Staffs were also Friendly, Polite and kept to themselves. No issues with Customer Service here. The Actual Restoran is like a Large Kopitiam with both an Indoor Air-Conditioned Area  and a Outdoor Area where you can see the Bridge that its next to.  Compared to Teck Teh, it was certainly more Modern in its Renovations. As you can see, this Place is also rather Popular even at 9.00am on a Weekday Morning. Anyway it took 1 Min for the Chinese Tea and 2 Mins for the BKT. Everything was served up in 2 Mins. Quite Impressive Timing even when there were quite alot of Customers. Chinese Tea (Hot) = RM1.00 BKT Pork Knuckle 脚弯 (No Rice) = RM17.00 Conclusion and Closing Thoughts At the Price of RM1.00 (S$0.30) for this Cup of Chinese Tea, this is Affordable certainly, but its also Nothing Really Special.  Think of it as ordering a Same "Diao He" in SG Kopitiam.  That said, if you don't want to bother with "Tea Leaves, Tea Ceremony" Type of Tea, this is still a Simple Decent Choice. At the Price of RM17.00 (S$5.20) for the BKT is not say Very Cheap,  but is still Cheaper than Teck Teh's RM21.50 (S$6.60)  and is even made at a Much Higher Quality. Seng Huat's BKT Pork Quality really is Alot Better compared to Teck Teh.  The 2 of them are really Heaven and Earth 一个天一个地.  EVERYTHING about Seng Huat's Pork Knuckle 脚弯 from the Fat, Skin to even the Meat was Well Braised and so Insanely Soft. Much More Friendlier Customer Service from this Lady Boss.  I appreciate that she herself was at the Main Entrance personally welcoming Customers with a Smile.  Simple Gestures like these goes a long way. Her Friendly Demeanor really helped salvaged my Initial Impression of Klang after my Unpleasant Encounter at Teck Teh.  Even though the 2 Eateries are Related, their Customer Service Levels are Completely Different. If this is the 1st Time you are visiting Klang, I highly recommend to come HERE to Seng Huat to get a Much Better 1st Impression of Klang BKT.  Don't make the Same Mistake as I did to visit Teck Teh first despite how Historical its supposed to be. First try of Klang style bowl bak kut teh, probably the best bkt in my life. The combination of soup and meat (especially half fat meat) is another level. Strongly recommend!

One of the famous Bak Kut Teh spots in Klang, best known as ‘Under the Bridge BKT’. After many years, the environment has slightly improved, but the soup remains bland with just a salty taste. The meat is average, and overall food quality is below expectations.

Sheng Huat isn’t just BKT, it’s literally the soul of Klang. The broth is so rich but not greasy at all—legit the gold standard for how it should be done.

Super thick & savory herbal soup. A tinge of bitterness due to the strong herbs but still super good. They sell different parts of the pork in small bowls. One of the best herbal soup I have ever tried. But their 油饭 rice lose to Hing Kee BKT at Kepong. Nevertheless I will definitely come back again for their soup.

Spacious, airy, and clean. More importantly, good quality BKT. Great if you visit with young kids as they aren't too busy.
