Señor Frog's Los Cabos | Party Zone

Very lively bar. Went on New Years Eve. Wasn't a huge fan of how pushy some of the staff were in making me and my party take shots of what tasted like sugary fruit punch for $5 USD each.

We had a great time when we found this gem near the marina. It was also a great place for football Sunday.

We obviously knew it was a tourist trap, but did not expect just how much of a rip off it would be. Our server was super nice and attentive but the service is negated by them upselling alcohol without asking and trying very hard to push shots on you. 100 USD for 1 beer, 3 margaritas and some water. Criminal. The margaritas were actually super good, I will definitely give them that. We also were there I. The afternoon when it was empty. I’m sure the nightlife there is awesome, the staff was definitely bringing the party.

If you’re looking for a gross, dirty, loud restaurant where you’ll get your bank account abused and your nipples pinched (literally!), this is the place for you! We were in San Lucas for the day, got off our boat tour and wanted something to eat. Senor Frog was right across the street from the wharf and looked popular and fun. We waited for almost five minutes outside waiting to be seated, then finally sat down at our table beside three speakers with music blaring so loud we couldn’t even hear ourselves shouting across the table. Food was priced high, but in a prime location this was fine with us- ordered a main and nothing more. No drinks, not even waters. Five minutes went by after ordering and the waitress came with a shot glass and a bottle of what looked like liquor, we later discovered was just fruit juice. We both repeatedly told her “NO”, clearly refusing whatever they were trying to offer us. The waitress kept yelling “it’s free! It’s free!”, to which I still replied no thank you. Keep in mind- we can BARELY communicate because the music was SO loud. Apparently me crossing my arm and shaking my head and shouting no were not enough! Eventually she forced me to play tic tac toe with her, and when I lost, I then was forced to participate in their silly shot game. They give you two shots of juice and blow a whistle in your face and grab your nipples and take off your shirt (if you’re male), and bend you over your chair. Once they made both of us do this uncomfortable get up, the waitress told my boyfriend it was $20 USD for the shots and that he can leave the cash on the table. $20 for warm fruit juice shots we refused about fifteen times! At this point I was livid, but also hungry, so we stayed. The food was ok. I had tacos which later made me sick, and my boyfriend had a burger which he described as “fine”. We both quickly ate so we could leave ASAP. When we got our bill, we were able to pay in pesos or USD. On the bottom of the bill, it had tip options ranging from 12-20%. We had both decided we were going to tip nothing, as the $20 shots we didn’t want were probably enough. The waitress came back with the card terminal, pressed a few buttons, then handed it over for us to tap a card on. No tip options for us to choose from. I asked for the receipt, and realized they had charged us a 20% tip without our knowledge or consent. Bill with tip including the $20 shot fees came to almost $90 USD. I was absolutely disgusted with the price, experience, and lack of decency from the staff. We left the restaurant with pounding headaches and empty pockets. I cannot recommend this place less.

UPDATE: While their response to my review makes it appear they care about improvement by asking me to reach out via email, they never responded to the email that I sent. It appears they like to make it look like they are responsive to complaints but never actually follow through. We went in the afternoon for a drink & snack. We knew we were walking into a tourist trap but didn’t expect such a poor experience. We were met with what felt like unsupervised teenagers who wanted to party and not take care of customers. We were served and charged for drinks that were a size larger than we asked for. We also had to wave one of eight servers down to get our check when there were three other tables in the restaurant. We had to wave someone else down to bring us the terminal while the employees were dancing with each other. That employee then comes to take our payment and gives himself 20% tip without asking. Highly do not recommend.

We started out with the Mexican Corn. You would think being in Mexico, it would be good. Wrong! Pretty sure it was canned corn with mayo and Tajin. Horrible. Then we ordered nachos. I think the watery sauce that you see in the picture was a mixture of refried beans and cheese, but not real cheese. The absolute worst ever. It would have been better with cheese whiz and canned refried beans. This watery sauce had very little flavor and made the chips soggy. Save your palate for the many other great restaurants in Cabo.

I wanted do visit the famous Senor Frogs! I've been to the 1 in Cozumel. The one in Isla Margarita, Venezuela and 1 other in Bahamas a long time ago. It was definitely a party atmosphere that the staff were working hard to maintain. It was loud for a family to stop and have lunch. The food was not good. No one really liked what they ordered. The fries weren't even good. The couple of drinks we ordered were ok. Even upgrading the drinks to the yards wasn't suggested. We had to ask about them. In the end it was a cool atmosphere to check out. The kids thought it was neat. The price for the not very good food was too much. $2500 pesos for family of 6.

Too expensive! Guacamole was fresh but chips overdone. Nachos were presented like something special - It was Not. Waitress came by only once even though it was dead. She was more concerned with cleaning up table more than anything else? Other staff nice. Bill came out and I thought the total was in pesos but no it was in dollars. My jaw hit the floor. I guarantee I'll never visit senor frogs ever!! Hope you like way over paying for mediocre service and mediocre food. No wonder they don't have a physical menu so they can charge you a car payment for some drinks water and couple appetizers! Never again!!! Go to a local place, better food and more affordable prices!
