Where To Eat & Drink In Playa Del Rey - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"You could probably pass Senor G’s a hundred times and never take it seriously. And that would be a huge mistake on your part. Because this tiny order-at-the-counter Mexican cafe is cranking out some seriously good Mexican food. Come in the morning for huevos rancheros and grilled cactus, or later in the day for tacos and any one of their “super” burritos. And if you’re wondering what makes them so super, just order one and you’ll understand." - brant cox

I had Chilaquiles with Green Chile, over medium eggs, & bean. They were pretty good. 😋 staff was nice.

Google
I ordered "Tony's Special" and that was a French toast combo. You had a choice of hash browns or diced potatoes. I chose diced potatoes and they were ok ,they could have used a little more bell peppers and onions. My husband ordered a small menudo. It was a perfect size for a side dish. He said it was fine it could have used more meat. He ordered huevos rancheros with meat on top. He said the meat was dry and had no flavor. Maybe next time we will let the waiter/waitress know how we would like the meat cooked. Everything else was good. There green salsa has a kick so watch out. We sat by a window and could feel the heat coming from outside even with the shades down. The place is outdated and needs a remodel. It has a 70's feel to it. They have enough room for a wheelchair to pass around. They have 2 handicap parking spots in front. They have a small waiting area with a bench.

Google
Food was ok but for the price, not worth it , waitress was not very friendly which is probably why I would never go back! Hope everyone else has a better experience!

Eva R.

Google
The staff here is genuinely kind and extremely attentive. I highly recommend their cafe de olla, I had 3 cups! This is a local hidden gem awaiting to be discovered by anyone lucky enough to visit.

Google
Really enjoyed our Breakfast and the Sevice. If the owner would take out the Carpet, it would take that smell away of dirty Carpet. And the Restaurant would look more Modern.

Douglas G.

Google
Lots of parking a good selection menu easy to get into the driveway but leaving I took the alley to get in the direction I was going

Google
Regular little breakfast spot. Food was pretty good and service was great. Will go again. Only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because it didn't stand out to me. Tasted like all the other breakfast spots. The food isn't bad, but it's not spectacular

Felipe R.

Google
This place is amazing. I love there organic drinks. The food is always good and the servers are always happy to serve. Super service.

Yelp
After driving by this spot for years, my family and I finally decided to stop in for a late breakfast/lunch. I'll admit, it threw me off that we were the only customers there, making me worry it might be a bad sign. Fortunately, it was just the timing, because the food turned out to be perfect and delicious. I had the Chilaquiles (green), which were exactly what I was hoping for, and I added a side of Chile Verde to boost the flavor. My wife enjoyed her classic Tuna Melt with Onion Rings. My son kept it simple with a Bean and Cheese Burrito. Every dish was flawlessly. This little spot doesn't need a crowded dining room to prove its worth. The friendly staff made the whole experience great. Their welcome was warm and genuine. The interior is exactly what you expect from a great mom-and-pop diner. It was clean, quiet, and inviting. It could use a little upgrade, but the comfortable, familiar atmosphere is great

Yelp
As always, the best customer service. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The food comes out hot and quickly and it's good. I usually come for breakfast. And the ambiance, I like the diner feel with the talking and laughing and busyness. The coffee, the juices and ice tea are good! This is my go to breakfast place. Oh and my Hubbie loves the chile verde breakfast plate from here.

Yelp
First time visiting this whole in the wall restaurant in Pico Rivera. Pretty good breakfast and friendly staff.

Yelp
I stopped in here for breakfast after church one Sunday. The place was packed. In spite of the crowd they seated me quickly and took my order right away. This is a very family friendly restaurant. Lots of people of all ages, kids parents, grandparents. The waitstaff is very friendly and accommodating, especially for families with little ones. The menu has Mexican entrees along with American entrees, kids plates, healthy choices, slim plates, breakfast lunch and dinner. Something for everyone. I ordered heuvos rancheros and a coffee. My order came quickly. They refilled my coffee several times. My plate was filled to the brim. Lots of good food. No one leaves here hungry! There is parking in front and a small parking lot on the side.

Yelp
We came in on 3-2-25 for afternoon meal around 2pm and was able to get seated right away. The entire staff are very friendly and nice and make you feel welcome coming to the restaurant. The food is amazing and good and they have a wide selection of items and great prices to match.

Lori V.

Yelp
Food and service is very good. Best Cafe de Olla. Staff is always friendly. Neighborhood coffee shop where locals go

Yelp
I've lived in Pico for the past 12 years and just started coming here about 4 weeks ago and today was my 3rd time. The food, the service, the ambiance- all just right. The food is so tasty - except the pancakes- those are so so. But the Machaca, the Greek omelet (the one with grilled chicken breast, feta and egg whites), hash browns, huevos rancheros - add steak- it's damn delicious, California omelet, beans and rice are good too. If you like spicy salsa you have to try their habanero one- it's so good. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast- I haven't tried their lunch or dinner yet but based on brekkie, I bet lunch & dinner are tasty too!

Yelp
We haven't been here in a few years and decided to stop by on a Sunday afternoon. We only placed an order for 3 drinks, one waffle and one breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was very good. Good portion of hash potatoes, egg and bacon. The waffle unfortunately was dry. Syrup was plain, nothing special or delicious. I would return to try other items since we use to enjoy breakfast here years ago and we did enjoy the burrito. The wait time was about 15 minutes for three people.

Alice G.

Yelp
From the moment you walk in, you receive great service - a warm greeting. The entire staff is friendly. We especially their decor (cute little signs) throughout the restaurant. Everything on the menu is very tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in for quick lunch. It's a diner vibe with both Mexican and American food. We were seated quickly. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered the fajita platter and enchiladas platter. They came with rice, beans and guacamole. The portions were huge. Loved the salsas that were bright to the table. Enchiladas sauce was really and flavorful. Will come back to try the other options. Definitely bring your appetite!

Yelp
Ray and I come here after attending 10:00 am Mass at St. Benedict's every Sunday. It's tradition! We're creatures of habit so Ray always wants ham eggs
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
Drink and food combo was the best. Can't hype this enough! Service is always on point. I've been coming here for many years and never had not one bad thing to say. 10/10!!!

Yelp
I've been coming here with family and friends for the last three years and every time I come the food is delicious, the staff is super friendly and the environment is always clean.

Patty M.

Yelp
Friendly atmosphere, stood service, fair prices. Been coming here for years, since it was different owner.

Yelp
Wonderful and amazing. Just like mamas cooking. Real home made taste! I ordered the chorizo plate. Amazing not dry or over cooked. And coffee was delicious too! Very nice place. And great service

Yelp
The food was great. The service was good.. but.. it needs remodeling.. at least the rug needs replacement

Yelp
My wife and I decided to try this place out three weeks ago and let me tell you the food is delicious. We have been coming back every week since lol. The staff is great and friendly as well. I definitely recommend coming here and trying a local hidden gem.

Wayne R.

Yelp
Just finished having breakfast here, and wow the reviews were correct. This place has delicious food and wonderful service. We were gonna go to the Denny's across the way but I searched up breakfast in Pico and this place popped up. . . Great decision. The place itself is nice, quiet, and calm oh and roomy... I got the menudo and my wife got a breakfast burrito with freshly squeezed orange juice. The menudo has good flavor before I added anything to it and that little habanero salsa that someone in the reviews suggested was so good.. it wasn't super spicy but had good flavor and a nice kick. We are most definitely coming back SOON! Also I don't know what's in their coffee but it was bomb! It's the little things. Thank you Señor G and Bs for a great breakfast.

David A.

Yelp
If you want traditional Mexican breakfast Señor G's has a large selection of Mexican favorites. I order rice beans 2 eggs and bacon. This is my favorite and they do it well. They also have America favorites as well. Breakfast is my thing and so far everything is delicious!!! Service is very good and the restaurant is large with lots of room. Check it out
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
The wait staff was all male and they did a horrible job. The food was good but had to get up and get someone just to order. Usually during the week when the woman are work they are more attentive to the customer.
google avatar

Marie R.

Yelp
Great spot to have a tasty breakfast we sat on the covered patio in the back, very dog friendly. Staff was super friendly and professional. I would definitely come back again.
google avatar

Alishia L.

Yelp
Our first time here. And let me tell you, the food was so good. I didn't even get to take a picture. Even the refried beans were good, I don't like eating beans at restaurants. But everything is home made, and so yummy. It's a much try if your in the area. Our server was Josh he was very sweet, he might of been newer to the restaurant but he did an awesome job.
google avatar

Krys B.

Yelp
This is for a take out order. I got Carlito's way and two drinks - green machine and fresh OJ. The order was ready in 20 minutes. The burrito was huge and packed. Meat was nice and lemony how they described. Rice and beans tasted fresh and well made. Salsa wasn't spicey but did offer a balance to the burrito. The two juices tasted great! Will def come back here.

T L.

Yelp
DELICIOUS...!!! Today was my first visit at the restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. The waitress and the cooks were extremely friendly. Food was fresh and amazing. Restaurant clean. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much for having such an amazing family owned restaurant in our neighborhood.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
My bf recommended this place because I wanted a classic breakfast diner. We can around 2pm on Sunday and just missed the dinner rush. Because of that we had prompt and amazing service. If you're the type to down cups of coffee, come here because they asked us if we wanted refills at least 4 times. They were all very kind and worked together well. This place is definitely dated but I love it. The stained glass windows and light fixtures give it the feel good grandmas house feeling. Definitely recommend and would come back.
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
The food here is always very fresh and delicious. I have been here a few times and ordered a freshly pressed juice every time and not been disappointed. the service is always friendly and quick. The place is always clean and well lit.

Joseph A.

Yelp
The food is always delicious. The service is always great! I recommend trying their habanero salsa. It's sooo good. It's very peaceful dinning in.
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Just as amazing as before COVID!!! Still our go to place for a family meal. Staff is just amazing!! Food delicious
google avatar

Trini M.

Yelp
Husband had initially called to place a takeout order for chilaquiles. I insisted to go in instead since it's only 3-4 mins away. Went in for the first time after seeing and passing by this place since it opened. Chose our booth and were served within minutes since our order was changed to dine-in. I loved the crunch to the chilaquiles. The salsa had excellent flavor, as well as the beans. I didn't get to see other options since my husband was the one that chose our breakfast but will be coming back for sure.
google avatar

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that you should give this place a try so you know that the people who leave amazing reviews are telling the truth! Not gonna lie this place might be better then going to IHOP or something only because it feels very welcoming and the staff is friendly. When we pulled up we saw a lot of cars and I was already going in with the mentality that service was gonna be a little slow which happens when it's busy. We walked in you and you can sit wherever you like. Got our drinks almost right away which is really nice cause while u wait to get ur order taken/waiting for food you have something to drink. Their menu is nice. They have a lot of options and their coffee is really good. We got the Tonys Special, Waffle combo & a chorizo plate. Food was great, service was great & the atmosphere in here is warm. It's very big inside which doesn't look like it from the outside. And again, staff is friendly. Seems like a lot of locals love this place and I can see why. I definitely see myself coming back again. For 3 people we paid about $60 so seems about right for what you pay at other restaurants so might as well pick a local place.

Amanda C.

Yelp
This is one of the best hidden gems in Pico. Always a go-to for my grandpa & I. The staff is always so lovely and personable and the food never disappoints. Definitely recommend the chile verde!
google avatar

Lori R.

Yelp
Chilaquiles were great.. a little spicy for me but still very delicious. My husband got the breakfast burrito and my son got the breakfast taco... all delicious. Good service only downfall is we paid over $40 for breakfast but I guess that's the normal right now. I would recommend if you get chilaquiles to go ask them to make them crispy otherwise by the time you get home they will be soggy.

Sara C.

Yelp
The breakfast burrito was tasty $15 and service was good. Nice little place, food was filling.
google avatar

Ronald P.

Yelp
A traditional diner with authentic Mexican dishes. They do everything well! Chile Verde, Nopales, burgers, pancakes....the list goes on. OJ is fresh squeezed and they have Pepsi (not Coke ). I come here every couple of months when my schedule allows it and I've never been disappointed. With 2 small kids their menu satisfies all cravings. Note! The green salsa has a solid kick so weak palates beware. They also have counter seating like a traditional diner so solo diners can sit down faster. Enjoy

Yelp
i've been coming here for going on four years now and I must say it is one of my favorite restaurants. I make sure that I come every other Sunday to stop by to this amazing spot and the best waitress is Lorena. Carlos is amazing. He approaches his clients talks to them feels as if you've known them forever. It's great family vibe. The food is amazing.

Yelp
Sunday evening, and needed a break from cooking and washing dishes. As I pondered my choices in my area on what to eat i went to yelp and came across senor G's & B. Ordered delivery through doordash. Ordered two carne asada tacos for mom and a patty melt with fries for myself. I like to cook and I have to say i'm a pretty damn good cook so I'm critical on outside food. Honestly they did not disappoint! The carne asada meat was on point. It had enough seasoning and cooked very well without all the fat or nerves you get from other places. The patty melt was made perfectly, and the steak fries were perfect too. I would definitely recommend this place. I can't believe I waited si long to eat here when it's a rock throw away from me. Next time I'll give the restaurant a visit and sit in. Just one more thing to add.The prices were very reasonable.Yeah, this is a first time we've seeJust one more thing to add, the prices were very reasonable.

Yelp
This place is great. Weird location. Do you only have one problem? As many of you know, I really get five stars. This is one of the few five stars. Usually I give an extra star pretty independent business, But, this one got five stars just on the food and service. I would recommend this place completely. A little more expensive. But, that is because the large portions and quality of the food. You can share these meals. The only bad thing the chips did not taste real fresh. And the carpet is filthy.

Efren O.

Yelp
Food quality has really gone down. But what I really did notice was the price of the food. I asked for extra tortillas and they charged me $4.50 for 3 tortillas. After this I will no longer come here anymore. I regret tipping 20%.
google avatar

Art B.

Yelp
This spot is so amazing. The service and the food just hit a lil close to home for me. #chilaquiles.
google avatar

Kevork M.

Yelp
Delicious food with great portions for breakfast. Unfortunately the food looked so delicious I forgot to snap a picture. Our waitress was very friendly and professional. We brought our dog so we sat outside and really enjoyed the shaded patio. Will definitely be coming here for dinner. FYI they are dog friendly.
google avatar

Mon A.

Yelp
Great Ambience and caring, family owned business! I love grabbing food on the go or dinning in!

Alina P.

Yelp
Really good food and service. The cafe de olla, oh my goodness! Amazing... the menudo delish
google avatar

Johnny M.

Yelp
TL;DR Norm's with a Mexican twist. What I had: I ordered the corned beef hash, eggs, and it came with toast. It was your straight run of the mill corned beef hash and I was okay with that. After a morning of golfing it was nice to get some fuel in. Others in my group tried the chile verde, the lumberjack (pretty much everything: eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, potatoes, etc.) and the Belgian Waffle. No one complained, so it must of tasted good! Location: The location is a little tricky, but just follow the map on your phone, even when it says to go down an alley. There is plenty of parking and tables inside. Notes: The menu is extensive, and I am not quite sure if they served their whole menu all day or not. Everything on the breakfast menu can be ordered in a burrito as well. For the 4 people in my party the bill was around $65.

Yelp
I've frequented this place over the years and finally decided to write a deserving review. I've never been disappointed at Señor's and I don't see that ever being the case. It serves classic American Diner fare as well as a huge amount of Mexican options which is great when you've got some people that want different things. The ladies are bilingual, professional and friendly. It's hard to recommend any dish here because everything I've had has been so delicious! I do recommend, however, that you try one of their fresh squeezed juices. The green machine is my favorite at the moment. Also, absolutely ask for the salsa. It's delicious and flavorful. Has a nice kick to it.
google avatar

Leslie W.

Yelp
This place is very unassuming on Rosemead Blvd and easy to miss if you're not looking for it. It's tucked away, almost hidden by the gas station on the corner. Don't expect a 5 star, gourmet meal here - but what you do get is comfort food for a great price, with large portions. We got the chilaquiles divorciados here as well as the huevos a la mexicana. Both were stellar for the price you are paying. You can tell that the locals have frequented this place in Pico for a long time - you constantly see the waitresses greeting them on a first name basis. Be aware though, no public restrooms! So don't overindulge on the beverages.

Yelp
Señor G's & B is a classic spot in pico Rivera. I remember going there as a kid with my grandma. The place is a bit outdated but it is very clean. It was not too busy so service was prompt. They have various options to choose. The nopales and eggs was delicious 4/5. It could have had more flavor. My friend got the enchiladas del sol and would rate it a 3/5. They also have fresh juices made daily. Definitely a good place for breakfast/brunch.

J-Rod D.

Yelp
Truly remarkable place with exceptional service fluid. Only to find out that the food was beyond comprehension. In a sends wholesome, great, tasty food with great ingredients. Truly something special here, guys, so fear. In the neighborhood, there's no need to go to Denny's or some of the bigger ones when you have this. Go my air.middle of nowhere. Great service smile more waitress
