"The chef is thoroughly versed in Cantonese cuisine and his credo is to faithfully reproduce traditional cuisine. Specialities include deep-fried whole pigeon, double-boiled premium soup with dried mushrooms and quickly-steamed star grouper. We also recommend the dim sum. Enjoy orthodox Cantonese cuisine while taking in some of the best scenery in Tokyo – there’s nothing quite like a dinner in subdued lighting against a night cityscape." - Michelin Inspector

The place, the staff and the view are amazing! When it comes to the quality of the food, we spent about 100’000 Yen for 2 people and we must say that there was nothing extraordinary. Even quite basic Chinese plates, some soup with mushroom and truffle without any taste. Chinese panna cotta as a desert… For this price you definitely expect more in Tokyo.

The ambiance was outstanding. We had a preset meal with the 3 wine pairing. The food was exquisite paired with the wine and the entire experience was excellent. Perfect service, clean restrooms and a beautiful view of Tokyo made for a spectacular dinner ning experience.

From the experience of being seated in a private room at the restaurant, to the service that followed. Simply fantastic. Each dish was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The staff were very attentive and professional. Such a delight.

Tonight we have a great night at Sense restaurant. The food is more than just tasty, it is also lovely presented by the chef. The night view is spectacular as we look out from 37th floor. Our special thanks goes to Mr.Simon and his team for their friendliness and professional service. We definitely will visit again in the future.

Favorite dim sum place in Tokyo. Love their abalone siu-mai. Nice views, lovely ambience and smooth service. Worthy splurge.

We had the lunch set menu at ¥13,200 which was a hybrid of fixed courses and eat all you can small bites from a comprehensive dim sum menu, which was good value. The food was of a high standard, though not the best in class. On the 37th floor of the Oriental Mandarin with breathtaking panoramic views of Tokyo, modern swanky decor, fine dining and outstanding service (especially Simon), Sense is entitled to a 5 star rating.

Other than portion sizes being on the smaller side. This restaurant was exquisite. My wife and I ordered the Jade 7 course meal. There was not one thing that didn't taste amazing. The smells, the textures and the flavors worked so well together.

Yelp
Sense is perched on the 37th Floor of Tokyo's Mandarin Oriental. After several tries, we finally were able to land a reservation for Sense's dim sum brunch. We were amply rewarded with some of the very best Cantonese food we have ever eaten outside of Hong Kong. Having eaten at the dim sum brunch at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong, I can safely say that the dim sum brunch at Sense is superior on every level. Since all the dim sum is cooked to order makes it so much better. We really enjoyed it and will be back on our next trip.

Yelp
Finally, a place worthy to represent authentic Cantonese cuisine. From fhe dumplings to the rice/noodles dishes (none of that greasy grub one usually finds at run-of-mill Chinese joints) to the dim sum (albeit a very limited array), everything was carefully prepared with intense but not overpowering flavours. Particularly impressed with the rice rolls (soft yet non gooey - a real skill) and the 'Cantonese healthy soup' making full use of flavours of fried seafood (a real traditional way of preparing soup). Accompanying the great food is the view of Tokyo as Sense is perched on the 37th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Note: Wooikd be a fully five-star is weren't for the fact that it was simply too warm (we were actually perspiring throughout lunch!). Hopefully they will turn down heat a little!

Yelp
Beautiful view over metropolitan Tokyo. Food was great however the portion is small. We should call it Japanese portion. I ordered 3 dish and finished them all. A little bit in the salty side Great service, nice people.

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner at Sense. Food was outstanding - flavors and food pairings were exquisite. Yanging Jin was excellent in serving us dinner, with all her recommendations and explanations about Cantonese cuisine. We had some Japanese Red Wine with dinner that was recommended and we enjoyed it very much. We highly recommend dinner at Sense and will visit again in the future.
