Located near Namdaemun Market, 'Seoryung' has solidified its reputation by being selected for the 2025 Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand. This is not just a place to visit for its fame, but a restaurant where you can truly appreciate the value of authentic cuisine. The culinary expertise of the husband-and-wife owners, honed over a long journey from Hongcheon to Ganghwa Island and finally to Seoul, is fully present in every dish. ​Main Dish : The 'Sunmyeon' (Buckwheat Noodles) ​The undisputed star of the show at Seoryung is the "Sunmyeon," or pure buckwheat noodles. Made with 100% pure buckwheat, the noodles themselves boast a deep and nutty flavor. The broth, subtly seasoned to highlight the natural taste of the noodles without any overpowering flavors, leaves a delicate umami finish on the palate. It strikes a perfect balance—familiar to Pyongyang Naengmyeon (North Korean cold noodle) enthusiasts yet approachable for first-timers. The true strength of this restaurant lies in its ability to maintain the inherent buckwheat flavor, even when the dish is varied with perilla oil or a spicy seasoning. ​Side Dishes : 'Hangjeong Jeyuk' (Pork Jowl) and Dumplings ​The "Hangjeong Jeyuk," or boiled pork jowl, served alongside the noodles is another highlight. The rich, savory fat of the pork jowl combined with the tender meat creates a fantastic harmony with the noodles. It's clean-tasting and wonderfully moist. The only downside is its immense popularity; it often sells out by lunchtime. Many reviews suggest that you must "open run" (arrive at opening time) to secure an order. The dumplings, also available as a side, are simple and savory, further enhancing the flavor of the buckwheat noodles. ​Seoryung is a restaurant that prioritizes the fundamentals over flashy presentations. The exquisite buckwheat noodles and the meticulously prepared dishes, refined over 25 years, more than justify its inclusion in the Michelin Bib Gourmand list. If you're looking to take a brief break from the bustling Namdaemun area and find solace in a single bowl of perfectly crafted noodles, a visit to Seoryung is highly recommended.

A restaurant that specialises in Pyongyang cold noodle. The cold noodle broth was very clear and tasty. There is also a broth-less cold noodle. The cold pork was superb. Friendly staff. English menu available. This restaurant is on the pricer side.

Worth the 1.5hr queue. The staff were very friendly, all the dishes were delicious. Deulgireum noodle was on point, cold noodle could be mild for people who are not used to Pyongyang naengmyun but should still give it a try, dumplings were big and juicy, and the meat is a must!!!

I visited the Seoryung branch, a rising star in the Pyongyang Naengmyeon scene, with a friend who loves it. We arrived around 6 p.m. without a reservation, but luckily, a table for two was available, so we were able to grab a seat right away. Looking at the menu, I saw that Seoryung sells Pyongyang Naengmyeon under the name Sunmyeon. My friend and I each ordered a Sunmyeon, along with Hangjeong Suyuk (Braised Pork Jowl) to go with it. The Hangjeong Suyuk was served first, and it was incredibly tender, free of any porky odor, and delicious. And finally, I tasted Seoryung's Sunmyeon (Pyongyang Naengmyeon)! The toppings included half a boiled egg, thinly sliced cucumber and fried egg, and two pieces of meat underneath the noodles. The broth, with its crystal-clear color, filled my mouth with a rich meaty aroma the moment I sipped it. The noodles, made from 100% buckwheat, had a rich, savory buckwheat flavor and a delightful texture. My friend and I both had a very satisfying meal, and we plan to return for another meal soon.

I visited a restaurant called Seoryeong to try their Pyongyang-style cold noodles. We ordered two servings of Seoryeong cold noodles, two portions of bulgogi, and a bottle of soju, which totaled approximately 100,000 KRW or more. The Seoryeong cold noodles were mild and clean in flavor, allowing us to fully enjoy the rich taste of the broth. The broth paired exceptionally well with the soju. The bulgogi was well-marinated, tender, and delicious, making it a perfect match with the cold noodles. Most importantly, the side dishes that came with the cold noodles were incredibly neat, clean, and made with fresh ingredients. Throughout the meal, I kept feeling that the quality of the food was well worth the price, and I felt grateful for the experience. If I have the chance, I’d love to visit again with good friends or family. However, one downside is that you may need to wait for your turn upon arrival, which can be a bit tiring so trying to avoid busy hours(peak lunch and dinner time) is recommended. Highly recommended.

Honestly, this might be the best Pyongyang-style cold noodle spot in all of Seoul. It used to be a super famous place out in Ganghwa Island, and we’re seriously lucky they moved right into the city center. Thank you for that! There’s usually a long wait—like 30 to 70 groups ahead—but it’s totally worth it. The pork belly, steamed dumplings, and cold noodles are all super clean in flavor, not too much of anything, just really well-balanced and refined. On top of that, the sleek interior, beautiful tableware, and neatly prepared side dishes give off a calm, stylish vibe. It’s a great way to experience the quiet elegance of Korean culture—through food. Feat.It’s a special place you can’t go to often—but that just makes it feel even more worth it when you finally do. -BOFF

The flavor of this place is quite blant, its good but if you expect a lot of flavor then this might not be for you. Clean place and friendly staff. Should use Catchtable before going to avoid waiting long queue.

The naengmyeon was marvelous, truly a satisfying dish for summer. The queue wait was very long, our queue was 4 hours (we went elsewhere while waiting). It's mainly visited by locals, we rarely see any tourists, and the menu is only in Korean, so quite authentically good(not a tourist trap). The banchan however doesn't have much variety.
