Thai Curry Simple Forced to Close for Months After Fire - Eater Seattle

"Seoul Bowl, a well-regarded Korean barbecue food truck, is opening a permanent location on 12th Avenue near Seattle University. It will offer mix-and-match bowls with options like kimchi bacon rice, bulgogi beef, soy-pork, and a melted 'cheese fall,' as well as soju, beer, and a cocktail combining the two. Previews start this weekend with an official opening soon after." - Gabe Guarente

Google
Really good make your own choices teriyaki bowls, fun Asian snacks and claw machine. The atmosphere is nice with music and both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are also always kind and helpful

Google
The amount of times I order from here is insane! Great staff, amazing food. I love their tofu bowl and diff variety of sauces that go with it.

Google
We didn’t finish our meal because the chicken literally smelled rotten. Plus one piece was raw. So please take the other one star review seriously and smell the meat of the chicken. To be completely fair, prior to this I went on 2 other occasions and it was fine. The chicken tenders and wings were noticeably bigger those times. The time we were served rotten chicken the pieces were very small.

Google
Had the Seattle Korean Dog and the Kimchi fries… both so so good. The kimchi and bulgogi beef were incredible

Google
Previously this place was awesome! They recently changed the interior and it looks cheaply done and awful. I'm not sure what happened, but now the fried chicken tastes old and was hard to take a bit out of. The radish was mushy and tasted old. I had to throw my order away. The bulgogi bowls are still good. The sauces are still delicious. Please don't change those too!

Google
I absolutely love this place. Came here a while back. I liked it better when they had the customer employee interaction without the ordering tablets. Then you can really customize your portions. But other than that food is still great!

Google
Their cost-cutting has gone too far. I used to order these wings weekly, but they've cheapened both the batter and the wing quality over the past 6-12 months. Get wings from literally anywhere else. See attached. These are like dollar wings from the grocery. The drumsticks are one piece of meat and skin.

Google
Third time eating here and it’s great every time. The guys here are very nice. My favorite item is probably their Kalbi chicken wings. No where else makes it better. I live down south and I came back up here for their chicken wings! Unfortunately I don’t have photos of the wings but the bowls are great too! :)

Yelp
I love the bulgogi beef bowl and the people are amazing. great service and cool place

Yelp
Walked past this place and knew I had to give it a try as I love Korean food. I love that ordering was via a touchscreen so that you could customize all the toppings and even sauces. I loved the beef bulgogi with most of the toppings, with the spicy hot Korean sauce and "yum yum" sauce. Great lunch and a lot of food for $17 or so. Only downside is there is absolutely no atmosphere inside- so I ate outside. Helpful staff as well.

Yelp
Stopped into Seoul Bowl Seattle while in the neighborhood and craving a quick bite. The shop has a grab-and-go vibe, and the counter service was friendly enough. I ordered a custom bulgogi bowl and was... kind of disappointed. The meat was clumped together, the dish was mostly lukewarm (except the onions, which were freezing), and the rice texture was oddly sticky - maybe intentional, maybe not. The flavors were good, and I still ate the whole thing, but it wasn't a standout. That said, my boyfriend's fried chicken was delicious - crispy, juicy, and clearly the better order. Might give it another go just to try that chicken myself, but overall, a mixed bag.

Yelp
Clean spot. Food was delicious. I got the bulgogi beef bowl and rice cakes. Good portion size

Yelp
Great Korean restaurant serving Bulgogi and other bowls, sandwiches, fries and other snacks. Nice service and good interior space. Near Seattle U as well. Check it out!

Nicole J.

Yelp
They were opened on Fourth of July, which is very nice and convenient. The food is very tasty and the server is nice.

Caelan G.

Yelp
The food was fresh and delicious. great options including vegetarian options like fried tofu. I'll have to come back to try their bulgolgi smash burger looked delicious!
google avatar

Nikita S.

Yelp
It's felt like "Korean Chipotle" vibe. More like American Korean with sauces and spice. I loved the purple rice! I highly recommend to go with purple rice rather than white. it gave more texture and flavor to bowl. The bulgogi beef was nice and was in good quantity. You can customize the topping and sauces as needed. I would have definitely enjoyed it more if the chili sauce or heat wave sauce would be more spicer. This would definitely be my Korean Chipotle moving forward.

Yelp
Their fried chicken is on point. The staff is hella nice too. Whoever they got in the back frying the F out of this chicken is unbelievable. The chicken is fried hard and is still juicy. It ain't dry, not one bit, Seoul Bowl do got that soul in tho. Ain't finna front

Yelp
The food was sooo good ! I had sent my friend some food on DoorDash and this is what she picked so I got curious . The crispy sticky sweet rice paper on the side definitely added to my experience . The service was quick and swift and they were very kind and patient to other patrons . The ambiance is casual and fun but flavorful and that's what I really cared about . 100000% will be back . It's so freaking good ! Until next bite

Yelp
Perfect Korean spot for a quick grab and go meal. Food was delicious, and diff. Def a more modern, fusion take. Service was good. Just picked up my to go order in a flash. Ambiance was nice esp outside. The lighting was a great touch.

Yelp
Amazing food and service!! I really enjoy the beef bulgogi bowl and all the toppings! Plenty of space to sit to enjoy your food!

Oscar H.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times and I've really enjoyed the food. The fried chicken was delicious and the friend were just how I like them. I'm absolutely gonna come back!

Yelp
The first time we had seoul bowl was at the SLU night market and the flavor was so packed and delicious. We discovered they had brick and mortar locations in westlake (which always seems closed? Not sure if they're shut down) but we always go to the one in cap hill. They're mostly always empty and really fast with service. Normally we get a bulgolgi beef, spicy pork and kimchi cheese fries for about $40. Everything is always so filling
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, really solid portioning in the bowl for the price. Highly recommend for a hearty lunch. The chicken was a little overcooked, but their sauces are delicious. Lots of sides in the bowls too -- I especially like the mashed potatoes. I really want to come back here for their fried chicken (and perhaps some soju on the side).
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
Charming little eatery across the street from Seattle University serves up delicious and reasonably healthy. Korean inspired cuisine at decent prices. The roses: the food is delicious. Ring is easy, and they have a surprisingly good collection of Korean Soju to enjoy if you're so inclined. The thorns: no dedicated parking, and street parking can be a little problematic. Obviously this is not a problem if you are just walking or taking transit. The verdict: really tasty stuff if you like, Korean food! No nonsense and a good value. Recommend!

Munkhjin B.

Yelp
Great food! Love the bowls! Quick and easy. Spicy pork can be too spicy sometimes, but that's just me
google avatar

Wendi K.

Yelp
SO good! Pick a base (white rice, purple rice (my fave), greens, jap chae), a protein (spicy pork, bulgogi, chicken, tofu), and toppings (they are ALL good, banchan style toppings - the kimchi is perfectly tart and I die for that mashed potato salad). Bulgogi bowl was $13.99, Spicy pork bowl was $13.49. I want to try their fried chicken sandwich too! They also have apps and sides such as loaded Kkimchi fries, fried chicken, soy eggs, pot stickers, and that all looked great. They have a variety of Asian drinks, we got the plum soju which was delicious and very sweet. They do a happy hour from 4-6 where bowls are buy one get one half off, which we didn't even know when we went so we were lucky! Good amount of seating and friendly staff!

Yelp
Solid fast casual in a good location. Great options and great BBQ chicken. My favorite is their Korean pickles.

Xiaohua J.

Yelp
Very clean place! Food is also yummy. We ordered the smash burger. Would come back for sure

Nico W.

Yelp
My favorite lunch place!!! So delicious and great service. Also a really good vibe with super friendly ambiance.

Charlene H.

Yelp
Great for a late dinner and good selection on their menu. The staff was also helpful when answering our questions
google avatar

Priscilla L.

Yelp
Food itself was good, but nothing mind blowing. It's fast-food ish, nothing homemade or home style. However the portions were good. Service is always good, they always look happy to be there and I feel welcomed! It is a clean place, I see them cleaning the tables often. Overall pretty good for a fast food place, but this is where you will not find a Korean grandma making food from scratch.

Chelle F.

Yelp
Amazing food! The cheese fries Are so GOOD!!! Everyone here is always so nice whenever we come in! I highly recommend

Kikara D.

Yelp
To be honest the food was great but my last experience there was horrible. I I ordered two meals and two drinks and only received one meal and one drink. With the $15 extra delivery tax in Seattle you can understand my frustration. My bag was stapled so it was the restaurant that mistakenly left it out. I wasn't too mad because the food is GOOD. Like really good (this was my 5th time in 2 weeks) my kids and I love the food. Anyway I called and let them know was told I'll get a call back. I didn't. I called the next day was told again the manager would let me know. It has been 4 days and I haven't heard anything. Not so good service which is sad because the food is top tier, great proportions, fresh, and delicious.

Yelp
Yummy food! Excellent service from the workers! Good environment to just chill and enjoy fried chicken.

Yelp
Love the concept - korean food actually works so well as a chipotle concept. It's like a bibimbap with banchan all in one bowl. The flavors for every option is completely there and the serving size is huge. Feel like I was straining my wrists just holding the thing. I got purple rice, spicy pork and all the toppings. I tried their hottest sauce which wasn't too bad but added a kick. Love things like this where you get 10 flavors in a bite all at once.
google avatar

Yelp
Accidentally posted this on the wrong location previously, but I came here a few weeks ago and had a bad experience with the service. I ordered the $1 wings and waited 40 min for them to come out. After 20 min of waiting, the worker finally came out to tell me that there was something wrong with the fryer and they would just then start making my wings. It then took an additional 20 minutes for them to come out. If I had known it would take that long I would've just cancelled it. The worker offered me a free drink but didn't give me any alternatives to cancel or change the item either. The food was fine overall but definitely not worth waiting that long for. They suggested the yum yum sauce to me but I thought it was super mid, a slightly sweet sriracha mayo basically, and not what you expect with KFC. The bulgogi kimchi cheese fries were pretty good but were giving soggy McDonald's fries and also came out cold so the cheese did not even melt. Wings were fine but were giving actual Kentucky fried chicken rather than Korean.
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Pretty quick service. You can customize your bowl and toppings on a digital order screen. I really liked their special sauce and it blended well with all of the toppings. Servings may be a little uneven as my friend also got the same but and theirs had more meat than mine. I would love to come back to try their Bulgogi fries.

Yelp
Review is focused on the bowl, not the chicken or other items. I've had the bowl along with appetizers at the food truck and thought maybe they do things differently so there's a chance the actual restaurant spot is better. Had basically the same experience and thoughts on the bowl. I love the idea but hate the execution. The custom KBBQ bowls are super aesthetic as the top layer looks amazing but then as you eat, the middle and bottom are bland. You don't have enough food to mix and if you do, then the flavor is super inconsistent on each bite. Everything is in small quantities, including the protein of your choice. You get a few bites worth and then you're left with tons of rice. It's tasty to start but that pattern doesn't remain which is disappointing. If it were consistent, then I'd jump way higher but the inconsistency along with portion was disappointing. Even the side toppings weren't that amazing and seemed a bit old and not fresh.

Yelp
The food here is always bomb! So good and I enjoy coming here. I really enjoy the service here as well

Yonathan M.

Yelp
The food was just like the picture and tasted amazing. The servers Wendy and Alice were very accommodating.
google avatar

Eva M.

Yelp
Seoul Bowl offers an interesting idea, similar to a poke bowl. You're offered a choice of white rice, purple rice (made from mixing black and white rice), or salad as the base. The protein choices are bulgogi beef, spicy pork, BBQ chicken, or fried tofu; the beef is the most popular. Then you choose from a variety of veggie toppings that are similar to banchan, including potato salad! Then there are additional sauces to drizzle. It's a warm easy meal that is worth trying. The beef, pork, and chicken proteins are already made and ready to scoop. The tofu is fried to order. The veggies are tasty. I like the picked daikon (I think) cubes the best! The pickled jalapeno peppers are yummy too. All the veggies tasted fresh. They also offer chicken wings, but we didn't order any this time. We'll be back for some KFC! :) The location is right by the Seattle University. Parking is street parking only, which is plentiful these days.

Yelp
amazing Korean cuisine place located near Seattle U! We came by this place walking towards cap hill and had to stop by as the bowls looked amazing. Food: you can order a bowl here with unlimited toppings! We ordered the chicken and pork bowl with purple rice and all the delicious toppings that they had offer. Their portion here is plentiful for the price! The girl that made my bowl really stacked on the meat (unlike other places I've seen!) -- thank you! We also orders the bulgogi cheese steak Fries that came with Kimchi as well. The fries were good but i thought they could be a little bit crispier. The sauce and the toppings were amazing though! The store also had snacks you can buy as well. You can also order drinks here ( soju & beer). Location: limited street parking and across from one of the fields at SU. I walked as i lived close by and couldn't find parking originally. Service: great service with Covid cautious employees! There's limited tables inside and a couple of tables outside for when the weather is nice.

Yelp
This place is great, it's so tasty! Also very quick and easy to order! Parking is the hardest spot, but it's Capitol Hill area so no surprise there. Come here and enjoy a delicious Korean bbq bowl or their chicken!
google avatar

Angel C.

Yelp
Ordered for takeout and got the spicy pork and bulgogi bowls. The concept was nice and pictures very appetizing, but it was pretty disappointing when it arrived. Nothing stood out in terms of flavors, but it wasn't bad. I got a stomach ache, but not sure if I could blame it on the food. There was an attempt, but wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Emili A.

Yelp
Love the concept but execution was ok. I felt that this was just a little overpriced for the value. The cucumbers were extremely spicy so I winded up having to give those to my friend and the protein portion was just a bit small. I feel like if you like spicy flavors, then this bowl would have been a lot better! The bowl itself had flavor but nothing that really stood out. When mixing all the ingredients, it really looked unappetizing and the bites were just a little bland and had a strange creamy texture with the sauce. I opted for the rice/mixed salad combo but there was hardly any mixed salad at all. I wish they had other topping options such as fresh carrots or cucumbers to make a little more light and refreshing... didn't hate it but was just ok.
google avatar

Kathy X.

Yelp
Love all the topping options at this place, and they're pretty good portions too! Everything is fresh and the bulgogi is so flavorful! We also got the bulgogi sandwich, it comes with a side of fries and there's a healthy amount of bulgogi inside the sandwich. They're website ordering system doesn't allow you to pick the toppings for the bowl, but we just used Yelp's Grubhub and we were able to choose our options. Everyone was wearing masks and gloves, and our food was already wrapped up and packed away when we arrived. They also have cute little stickers that seal around their food!
google avatar

C J.

Yelp
Food - I built my own bowl; white rice, with bulgogi beef, and you have the choice to add every topping. Everything was well prepared along with the presentation of it. The taste of each item complimented each other so you could never go wrong with whatever you get. Service - The person I had serving me was pretty chill. Those who want basic knowledge on each item, they could tell you about it. Quick with servicing and polite. Ambiance - The lighting is just right, not too bright, not too dark. Fitting artwork inside with an addition of neon signs for those that like a bit of flashiness to a place.
google avatar

Huong L.

Yelp
We came here for lunch and got the family deal which includes 2 bowls and 8 piece fried chicken and fries. The bowls was standard, a little pricey in my opinion but refreshing and good. The mashed potatoes didn seem as fresh as it has this sour taste to it. The fried chicken was probably best part, it was crispy and perfectly cooked. We had some for leftovers and it was still good. The fries could be better, a little mushy. I had the food when they were a food truck, and the portion definitely decrease. It was still good that we probably be back when we are in the area
google avatar

Hiral P.

Yelp
Good fried chicken. Sides are very average. Not the best fried chicken in caphill, but still a good place especially for a bowl. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because they don't give water which is very weird for a restaurant that has seating.
google avatar

Aneesa O.

Yelp
Ordered through ubereats as a first timer and was pleasantly surprised at the various options that were offered, how we could add extra of something, and how they paid attention to the additional notes that we put in. Overall the quality and taste were a 9/10 for me!
google avatar

Chelsia L.

Yelp
I've been here a few times now and I'm sad to see some of the reviews that weren't happy with the place! Every time I've been here, my bowls been packed full of protein, tasted fresh, and I absolutely love the different pickled toppings they offer. My favourite bowl is the spicy pork bowl mainly because they actually use pork belly (or at least it tasted nice with layers of fat). Awesome concept and great execution based on my experience!
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
I feel like Seoul Bowl went a little downhill. I had it a few yrs ago from their food truck and I loved it so much! Just recently when I ordered from their store it was pretty disappointing. The sides that came with the meal tasted like it was expired or old, I spat it out. There were so many flies inside the store it looked like maybe the food really was old or spoiled. The service inside was also not great. I came in for pickup and told them my name and they walked away and kept doing what they were doing. Turns out my order just wasn't ready yet but letting me know would have been helpful. Overall food is okay, staff is okay. I would only come by again if i needed something quick and I was nearby.
google avatar

Eugenia B.

Yelp
This is definitely a wildly good tasting bowl of Korean food. They Jam Pack it with rice, and all sorts of other sides like corn. The sauces are really strong. The flavors are loud and fun. If your stomach can handle it then it's really yummy. But if you have a sensitive stomach then I wouldn't recommend coming here till you've worked your way up to it. I tried the bulgogi bowl
google avatar

Charlene W.

Yelp
One of my favorite food trucks in Seattle! I love the build-your-own-bowl style so you can customize to your taste. Tons of great toppings and the meat is packed with flavor (lots of options of vegetarians too) and the service is also friendly but fast so you can start digging in right away. a must try!
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Chiptole but Korean BBQ style! Flavorful and delicious bowls no matter what you put inside. Actually surprised it tasted so good. I got the bulgogi, white rice, radish, kimchi, kimchi cucumbers, sweet potato, and their spicy sauce drizzled on top. Sweet potato was okay, not a fan. But the other side dishes complimented well with the meat and rice. The portions are big and ate it for lunch/dinner. Coming back to try the other meats they have! Not only do they sell these bowls but they have instant ramen (lots of different flavors) and yummy snacks on the side!
