Longtime family operation with grills at every table and generous banchan. St. Louis Magazine documented the Creve Coeur era of this beloved spot, and locals praise its AYCE format, classic kalbi, and soju cocktails.

A great spot for authentic Korean cuisine. The restaurant is well arranged with BBQ tables, and the food is tasty and delicious. They serve flavorful, unlimited side dishes with the BBQ, and the quality of the BBQ menu is excellent. You really need to experience it for yourself — definitely worth a visit.

All the dishes are automatically delicious and not compromised to be international!! Each banchan was in authentic Korean recipes and they were delicious! Cucumber and daikon banchan were our favorites, we asked for refill on those, and the staff was kindly provided. Yukgaejang was thick and had rich flavor. This dish is often made much thinner in many other Korean restaurants in US, so I was impressed. I asked for making it extra spicy and they delivered so. My daughter ordered fried rice, the shrimp was fresh and the quantity was very generous. It was delicious but could not finish, had to take out almost half of it. My husband liked sundubu jigae, finished all. Dumpling was good, perfectly pan Fried. It was not 'gyoja', but was real Korean 'mandu'. Nothing wrong with gyoja, I love eating gyoja with japanese ramen and mandu with Korean dishes. We ordered a bottle of soju and a glass of lemonade. The bill was $119. Since we really didn't have room to eat kimchi mandu, if we didn't order that, it could have been $99 plus tip.

What an amazing experience when it comes to the flavors of the food and what an underwhelming experience when it comes to service. It was our first time trying Seoul Garden and we were extremely excited because we had heard some real exciting things about this place. Thankfully, we made it just in time to get ourselves a table. We went for the all you can eat meal and explained to the waitress that this is our first time. We asked her for any recommendations based on our preferences, and she just rolled her eyes at us. We cannot eat pork and made it clear, and she kinda struggled to know which dishes may have pork in them. Nonetheless, we went for everything that had beef and chicken on it and ruled out anything that had no mention of what meat may be used in it. When the order arrived for beef Bulgogi and beef brisket, we asked her very politely as to how much should the cook time be and she rolled her eyes yet again. She goes on to answer with a very blunt, “I don’t know. Depends on your preference.” How is that of any help? We went with our instinct and cooked our own meat. Thankfully, it turned out great because the flavors were just the right amount of garlic, achieved the perfect caramelization, and succulent to the tee. The next in line for our order was the short ribs and shrimp. My husband thankfully asked the owner for a pair of knives and he very happily and willingly despite the crowd attended to us, cut them up with the scissors they had provided and explained to us as to how much it should be cooked even when we did not ask. This changed our opinion on the services provided. Short ribs were absolutely phenomenal. We loved them and wish we could have ordered another round of those, but unfortunately you’re restricted to just one round. The shrimp was juicy, tender, and very savory. Our favorites were definitely the short ribs, beef, Bulgogi, and the marinated steak. The sides are equally exciting. The pickled cucumber and daikon complement the meats very well and the staff will happily provide another bowl if you ask. Our waitress disappeared after round 1 and somebody else attended to us for our receipt and the rest of our order. Rating the place five despite the waitress’s attitude because the owner and the other wait staff was very nice and accommodating to us. Thank you for an amazing Korean barbecue experience. Cannot wait to try the real deal in Korea.

We had to wait a little because of it being busy, but the food and experience was great! They would bring out additional sides and meet for the Korean BBQ, and kept us eating and enjoying the time with the friends we were with.

My friend and I went here on a friday night and it was packed. We waited about twenty five minutes to get a table. I ordered jap chae noodle (menu listed Jahp chae noodle) and spicy rice cake. My friend ordered the beef Bulgogi bibimbap ( menu listed beebimbap) stone bowl. Our entrees came. The Jap Chae noodle was a good portion size. The noodle tastes like other Korean places that I had tried. My Friend bibimbap was also okay. We did asked for more salt and sesame oil so we can add for more flavoring. The spicy rice cake i ordered never came out. By the end of the meal, i just told the staff that the spicy rice cake never came out and i don't need it anymore since i was done eating. The staff did asked me if i want to take the spicy rice cake to go so they can make it for me. I decline the offer of to go since the rice cake will get harden if not eaten within a couple of hour.

Google
Honestly best Korean food I’ve experienced in St. Louis. But for full transparency I went with family and they knew the order. The fresh kimchee was good. We didn’t do bbq. The oxtail stew was good. Enjoyed the Korean pancakes. Other side items - banchan - was good. Overall it is my goto now in St. Louis

Grabbed dinner here with friends from work. One of the group is moving on to bigger things, #doclife. We opted out of doing the BBQ aspect of cooking the food ourselves and just ordered off the menu. I opted for beef bulgogi beebimbap, love me some bulgogi. At the table we had fried dumplings, so good. The other dish at the table was jahp chae noodles. Along with the meal you get side dishes of kimchi, fish, potato salad, broccoli, zucchini cakes, sprouts, cucumber, and radishes. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Seating is set up at tables with the grill, if you opt not to cook they place a covering over it to make the table full. Great place to grab lunch or dinner.

Google
Delicious food and even better service. My kimchi jiggae had a good balance of sour and spicy. And arrived at the table very hot. Not bubbling, but hot enough. Bibimbap, vegetarian version, was also excellent. Nice variety of tasty banchan. Service was excellent. Entire team seem upbeat, and energetic with lots of positive vibe. Though the dining space was separated with majority of those who grill by a tall partition, everyone in the restaurant will be smoked. Better ventilation would be helpful. We didn’t have a reservation, so had a little wait. The restaurant texts when table is ready. Worth revisiting.

Yelp
Honestly, the best KBBQ place I've tried in the STL area. There aren't many, and they're mostly not too great, but this place wins me just with their side dishes. They actually have a large selection of authentic and delicious side dishes, which the other places don't have. I've tried their soft tofu several times as well, but I have to say that it is on the extremely salty side. The flavor is good, but they just over do it with salt. Koreans don't eat their food this salty, but maybe this is how they like it around here. I just eat half of it with the rice and sides, and take the rest to go, which works out just fine!

Yelp
So, I was hungry. This was close!! And it was yum!!! The food came out piping hot and full of flavor!! I ordered the Beef and glass noodles and a strawberry peach Bellini! The service was excellent and the space was chill. I will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
It's been awhile since we ate here ,so we decided to stop in for dinner. Food was delicious as usual, our waitress was beyond awesome and we left happy. The place started to fill up as soon as we were seated. That was at 5pm, on a Saturday. However, Stop by if you're in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Lots of banchan that is refillable. Limits you in ordering 2 meats at a time. Smart, but you get full waiting for the next meats to come. Limited to 1 serving of short ribs. Still worth it for the all you can eat experience. Would go back when craving kbbq
google avatar

Kel Vin W.

Yelp
The bbq is good, lots of banchan and the service is always fast and friendly. They regularly change out the grill plates and check whether you need more rice, next order of meats or more banchan. It's a very small location so it fills up fast. My only hesitation is the variety of offerings for the price is less than half of what some others offer. Nonetheless, we will still come back.

Yelp
We came here to get enough food to feed the family and it was plentiful. We got lots of side dishes and all the main dishes tasted great. Everything tasted authentic and clean. It definitely warmed everyone up this winter and everyone left happy. The restaurant is clean and the menu explains everything pretty well. Its a decent spot if you haven't checked it out!
google avatar

Erica S.

Yelp
Great KBBQ restaurant to go to here in STL. The meat was pretty good, but I've had better sauces and meat too. There were a lot of sides, some of which I've never seen brought out for KBBQ so that was great. I loved the soups, especially the chicken stew. Also, they had a fall cocktails menu and the chilled cozy cider was amazing! The staff accommodated us until closing even though we had a party of 7. The inside was clean and spacious and people can choose to use the grill or not. The staff was kind and even offered to take some pictures of us.
google avatar

Colleen H.

Yelp
The food was seasoned well, and the ambiance was casual. Service left a little to be desired... had to ask for refills, and barely saw our server. However, service was friendly.
google avatar

Sandi M.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint! I'm new to STL so my partner and I are on the hunt for the best kbbq around and I think this is it. The meat cuts taste clean (if that makes sense) they taste like good cuts of meat. I enjoyed how our server was not the only one taking care of us. Any employee that passed by would top our water off or offer us sides/rice. It felt like we were well taken care of. At the end our server asked us about our experience and we told them it was our first time. He came back with lollipops for us!! Thankfully the place is clean, our grill (not pictured when unused) was spotless when we sat down. Only gets one star knocked off because I am very passionate about rice paper and unfortunately they don't carry it. Also they don't seem to have a good waiting area system. I love this place but PLEASE CARRY RICE PAPER.

Matthew H.

Yelp
Beef bulgogi is absurdly tasty especially when paired with all the accoutrements they have to offer (kimchi, stewed cucumber, fish cake(?) and about six others). The spicy rice noodles are the sweet, with a small and welcome heat. The egg within was overcooked tho. A fun place to take your young adult kids. There is no need to get the all you can eat here.
google avatar

Yelp
We have been here so often I can't believe I've never reviewed!! We highly recommend Seoul Garden. We always do the cook it yourself option and pick out meats and sides; unlimited. Food is wonderful and staff is always friendly. We haven't ever had to wait long but we do try to time to avoid crazy times.
google avatar

Yelp
We were here a few weeks ago for AYCE BBQ with a friend. We all went for the Premium ($38 per person). Unfortunately, you can only order kalbi once, and we were served 3 pieces for 3 diners. I"ll probably go for the classic ($32 per person) next time. I also got short rib soup that is also limited 1 per 3 diners. Overall, everything we ordered was good. I liked the beef brisket the most. Service was phenomenal!!! Staffs were super friendly and attentive. They also changed the grill and offered refilling water and side dishes often. They also had shareable dishes. Good food, good service 10/10! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Krystal R.

Yelp
I love this place, come here almost every month! The all you can eat menu has great selection I love the side dishes especially the potato salad. I always order the kimchi soup with the all you can eat and add on an egg soufflé soup it tastes so good the egg is bouncy and piping hot!!! Love the beef option on the menu will always come back. The staff are amazing to assist you and the location is very convenient!
google avatar

Lillian L.

Yelp
Honestly the food was good, but very overpriced. The AYCE also had a few limitations which is a little odd. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean though! I really like the sides that are included!

Lou N.

Yelp
Soul's Garden is a Korean BBQ gem. I love its smaller, more authentic space and the flavorful meats that truly outshine the competition. If you're a fan of the veggies and sides this is my top pick. For being such a small space the service was quick
google avatar

Carson D.

Yelp
A restaurant I have been to many times, always opting for the grill your own option. Come in and pay a select price for unlimited meats, side dishes and one soup of your choosing. My favorite soups are the kimchi, a bit spicy with major umami and the short rib. As for meat, you cannot go wrong with the marinated steak and pork or chicken bulgogi. A side of white rice is offered with your meal. My preferred method is within a lettuce wrap, just have to ask. Also, I highly recommend trying ALL of the side dishes! You never know what you might like till you try it. You better come hungry because you will leave stuffed! A seated option with a select menu is offered as well.

Ayumi S.

Yelp
The seafood soondubol (tofu soup) was very, very red. Red chili that was floating on top of my soup was excessive. They put the egg in the soup in the kitchen so when the soup was served to me, the egg was fully cooked. I like mine runny. Oh well. It was fine. I've had better. I probably won't get that again. Their banchan was good. Their pickled cucumbers were excellent! Their kimchi was meh. But try their lavender elixir soju drink. Very refreshing. Probably the highlight of my meal. When I was done, the server looked at me and said, "well, it looks like someone was hungry." Wow. Ok. Like I'm not offended. Will I go back? Maybe. I'll probably try their dolsot bibimbap.
google avatar

Calie H.

Yelp
One of my favorite places korean bbq in town. A bit pricey but worth it. This place does not take reservations, so go before rush hour. We usually go for AYCE option, but we decided to do regular menu instead. We ordered a few dishes and all were delicious. Perfect flavor and cooked to perfect. My favorite is definitely the spicy rice cake. The only downside is that service is lacking. They have quite people working tonight. But we have to wave someone down if we needed extra side dishes or water refilled. I get it. It was getting close to closedown. We came at 7:30pm and waited almost an hour to get a table for a party of 9. While we are satisfied that they were able to accommodate our big party, service was definitely was not there.
google avatar

Luis L.

Yelp
For me the best korean bbq in the area for now. Service 3/5 but maybe is because of short personal problem. Ambience like any other korean bbq. Small room. Food are tasty. The variety of meats is perfect. We ordered the all you can eat premium.
google avatar

Lecel L.

Yelp
I honestly believe this place is one of the best kbbq in town. I love how you can order soup with the kbbq. In the beginning they allow you to order two meats and a soup. We ordered the short rib soup (which is to die for). The broth is so rich in flavor and it's so comforting. We got the premium kbbq which included the short ribs and shrimp. The short ribs were my favorite I think it's definitely worth getting premium for that meat. The side dishes were good. I really enjoyed the kimchi but the cucumber was really bitter. The service was good. We came at busy time but they were still pretty good at checking on us and serving more meat as needed. The only thing I dislike was limiting one soup per 3 diners but it's reasonable. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience!
google avatar

Diala A.

Yelp
Always a super fun time at Seoul Garden! Given it was a Saturday night, we only waited about 30-40 minutes before getting seated, which was really nice considering how busy it was! The food is always delicious and fun to prep at the table! We ordered a bottle of plum soju that was delightful. The ambiance is cozy yet bustling! This was our second time here and I am looking forward to coming back!

Andrea M.

Yelp
First of all, you walk in and this restaurant smells AMAZING. We did AYCE for lunch and it did not disappoint. Our favorites were the bulgogi beef and the short rib. One thing I wish I knew before I sat down is to request smaller portions of the food so we could try more options, they are very generous. The service staff was wonderful and the two women made sure we always had a fresh grill and plenty of banchan. All in all 10/10 - we will definitely be back. Side note: as an LGBT couple, we both felt warmly welcomed and safe here.
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
Seen reviews the talk about poor service, that was not our experience at all. We enjoyed every part of the experience we had. My favorite thing was the chicken stew, I loved it and would order a gallon to go if I could.
google avatar

Lani H.

Yelp
The food was pretty spot on for Korean food. It is so hard to find a decent Korean restaurants in STL. This place is small but it works. The service and food is excellent. The wait staff were attentive, kind, and professional. Our waiter hadn't been there long and he was quite honest if he didn't know a particular item on the menu. He quick to get an answer for us and I appreciate the transparency of this waiter. We will be back soon. From this hapa-Korean, I am so happy that this place is here in the STL area!

Emma G.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our food here. Everything was very flavorful and well balanced. The service was quick, perfect for lunch! I really enjoyed the side dishes, the variety was great as it rounded out the meal. The beef bulgolgi was delicious and fresh. It was a lot of food, especially for a lunch portion and decently priced! The restaurant was clean, playing good music, and was not too packed on a Thursday for lunch. I am looking forward to coming here again!
google avatar

Bruce S.

Yelp
Food was fantastic and the bulgogi was marinated perfectly. Service was a bit odd being there the first time. You could tell they were confused when we were but no matter! They were still super friendly and attentive. I appreciate this restaurant and the staff. On top of that the place was clean and not too loud. Thanks for what you do guys!
google avatar

Jennie C.

Yelp
When I went in 2019, it was a lowkey AYCE chain that satisifed my Kbbq craving perfectly!
google avatar

Genevieve C.

Yelp
We had a fun time here as a family this past weekend. The wait was LONG- like an hour or so, so be prepared for that! There's not much space at all for waiting inside, so plan ahead. But dining here was an EXPERIENCE! You can choose to cook at your table (all you can eat with a time limit) or order off the menu. Our server was super helpful in filling us in on what the Korean items were since it was our first time here. They have a few fun cocktails to try- mine was pretty weak. My only complaint was that apparently they're short on staff because our server disappeared to go clean tables and what not and didn't really come around to check on us and refill drinks. Other than that, it was a fun night out with yummy food and a new dining experience.
google avatar

Trinity P.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay here. For my first time here, my visit was lovely. the entire furniture choice and style of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming. entrees were decent, and appetizing in all ways, I'd personally recommend the kimchi fried rice and the side dishes were pleasant as well. My best advice if you ever come here is that you ask about the portions (I was not prepared) but that's okay. the mashed potatoes in the banchan are also sweet potatoes so look out for that (but you don't need to really, they're good either way). When I went to the bathroom, there was this weird blue giant tank of mysterious liquid next to the kitchen which had the best of suspicions. Other than that, it really, really like this place and I'd go again.
google avatar

Victor G.

Yelp
-restaurant was clean and well maintained -customer service was great. Had no problems -our waitress continued to come by and check on us -food was AWESOME -we tried all the meats. They were so good. And we were still full the next day. -the side dishes were good also. They have rice, seaweed, cucumber, soy sauce, sweet sauce, fish cake, etc. -mask are required but you can take it off when you sit down -portions of meat was perfect.
google avatar

Chiquita M.

Yelp
This place was amazing. I guess we have to come more to understand it's but it was good. We started with beef bulgogi and sweet pork, but it was good. If you wanted to try something different. We went to the side where you grill and we also ordered kimchi soup. It was very spicy. But it's all you can eat! No take out for drinks either. So be prepared to get full! It was sooooo good We will be back! Well done indeed!

Blair D.

Yelp
The was so good and the service was too! It was a neat experience. Different from anywhere I've been before.

Yelp
Cant ever go wrong with @koreanbbqstl #PERIODT the food is always piping hot, the service is fast and hospitable, and the flavors POP!!! Make sure you tell them #followchi4food on ig sent u!!! You're looking at #beefbulgogi #japchae #kimchee #steamedrice and #kimchifriedrice we've never had to ask for salt or any other seasoning. The food is so savory and delicious!

Giancarlo P.

Yelp
Visiting from Los Angeles - I was glad to have a Korean restaurant that reminded me of home. I was pleasantly surprised of the quality and taste. I recommend to anyone!
google avatar

Darlene B.

Yelp
Hole in the wall restaurant in a strip mall. Absolutely perfect service and delicious food. I had the kimchi pancake and it was the best I have ever had in my life...it was thicker than usual, but very crispy. I got the beef Bulgogi and it was seasoned well the ban chi were delicious. Assortment of broccoli, potatoes, radishes, and zucchini. 11 AM on Monday, and the place was almost full of diners.
google avatar

Diana F.

Yelp
My family of 4 ordered the classic all you could eat dinners. Unfortunately, it was disappointing eating at Seoul Garden. It took too long to grill the food. The grill was not hot enough. There were times when grill was finally hot enough and the server came to change the grill when the food was still cooking. Then again, we would have to wait for the new grill to get hot enough. Finally, the marinated steak and steak was very tough. It was difficult to eat. Knowing that there was an extra charge for not finishing the food, we felt forced to eat bad food. All and all, just a bad experience. We will not return.
google avatar

Bri J.

Yelp
We come just about every other week, and are just as excited every time. Tonight, forgetting they were closed, we attempted to go but were redirected to another Korean BBQ restaurant down the road. This new place wasn't bad, but it was nothing compared to our experience with Seoul Garden. The food quality, the portion size, the side options and the hospitality are all the reasons we keep coming back! The curly red headed waitress takes us every time we come in, and she makes each experience even better. If you're new to Korean BBQ, definitely make your first experience here!
google avatar

Sheree N.

Yelp
Did all you can eat and had pork belly, galbi, brisket, etc. and they were all excellent and fresh.
google avatar

Pete H.

Yelp
Great spot! It gets busy though, so you have to get there a little early to beat the rush. The food is great (as long as you have a grill master at your table :) ). The sides were tasty too. Service is good. As ling as you keep eating the meat, they will give you more. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jenn C.

Yelp
We did the bbq over menu for the experience. We did the $29 Classic Option x4 It's all you can eat for 2 hours typically. I was literally about to burst open. We had the Bulgogi Beef and Bulgogi Pork first and it went downhill from there. We tried the pork belly, the steak, and thin sliced steak also. The veggies and sides that they give as a part of the meal was very tasty. I loved the broccoli and cucumbers especially. They'll bring you more and more of any of them when requested. It was tofu, bean sprouts, seaweed salad, 2 sauces, I think daikon, kimchi and a scallion pancake. They'll change the grill out as needed to prevent burning and you just keep going. They are really short staffed due to Covid I'm assuming but they have a 2 hour limit to dine but they didn't hold us to it this night bcus it took quite a long time to get more food to cook. So be patient with them.
google avatar

Vincent S.

Yelp
All of the meat was extremely tough and the best thing here was average at best. For the all you can eat it is not worth the price for the quality of the food.
google avatar

Jennifer X.

Yelp
The food and service was not good at all. Our waiter did not check on us unless we asked them for something. The only exception was the white girl. The food wasn't that good and you can only grill your own meat when its all you can eat which is not a good option either. Extremely dissatisfied with this place. The Beef Bulgogi that was cooked tasted nothing like it. Kimchi Pancake was not good tasted bland. The kimchi stew did not taste that good either. The place was cute but super quiet and awkward setting. The Kimchi fried rice was good but not that much flavor at all. The price isn't worth it either. Overall establishment is nice.
google avatar

Joey H.

Yelp
This place is far from a Korean experience. First, it's about 90 degrees in here. No ventilation! The floors are covered in grease. No traction strips. Our friend went feet up in the air on the way in. No one said a thing. Good luck getting a server to get refills. We've been to Korea before. This is not it!
google avatar

Timinika R.

Yelp
The food is delicious. We did not do the all you can eat, cook in front of you. We ordered off the menu. The service is ok. It's really busy on Fridays and also a small restaurant so it's cramped and loud and busy. The ribs were delicious. The spicy pork was good. I really enjoy Korean bbq and this is a good spiky to try it out.

J.W. M.

Yelp
Absolutely the best that my limited experience has encountered thus far. Of course I have to have a Blue Breeze while enjoying enough grilled meat to send me into a blissful, food coma.
google avatar

Tulina S.

Yelp
Loving it.. do get pork bulgogi.. it is the best! Egg soufflé and scallion pancakes are my go to banchaan.
google avatar

Janelle T.

Yelp
So I'm a regular here. It's close to my house and has great pork bulgogi. I came here as I always do for good portions and tasty food. The spontaneity that comes with my order which is always the same is with the sampling of classic Korean side appetizers. This evening when I ordered it had a mixture of more of meats I liked and other more savory samplings. I ate maybe half the kimchi, it's not my favorite. But the main event is always great, savory and made fast even in the evening after work. Come here and have an experience.
