Google
Delicious meal. Dined here a few times and always pleasantly surprised 🙂 Opted for a dinner plate with Korean potato salad, cucumber kimchi, beef, and vegetable pancake. Couldn’t even take a photo before devouring my meal! Wow! 😮 Server was friendly as well and knowledgeable and assisted with a few questions on the menu. Atmosphere is very cozy. Got a green tea as well which was delicious! Also ordered the beef kimbap as an appetizer…. very flavorsome as well.. Also recommend the spring rolls! Additionally, the prices were great for the portion sizes.. dinner box was $18.. 5 Star experience definitely will continue to return!

Google
Food is incredible!!! Had vegetable Korean pancake, chicken bibimbap (level 1 spice), and pork belly bulgogi (level 1 spice). Menu was nice and small not too overwhelming. Presentation was beautiful. Service pretty quick. You need reservations to eat here, small but very clean; friendly staff. BYOB. You order and pay at the counter. Enter the restaurant through the side door near “take out,” not the front door. Not the restaurants fault, but it is a small space with small tables so it is tough to fit all the plates and sauces on your table at one time. Excited to go back again!

Google
Do yourself a favor and get your soul to Seoul and have the best Korean food in the greater Pittsburgh area. The food and service were fantastic. A ten spice level here is a true ten. So keep that in mind. Also recommend reservations.

Emily Hilpert

Google
We have come quite a few times because the food was and is delicious but the serving sizes have gotten smaller and smaller and the cost has only gone up. The spiciness is inconsistent with the food even though they ask you what level you want it. Again the food is always amazing but half the time you call and they are too busy to take your order or they just don’t answer at all. The couple times we did eat in the servers were very nice. But at this point the inconsistencies are make it a less desirable place to eat local.

Natalia Kerr

Google
It is reservation only. The food was delicious. We ordered lettuce wraps, spring rolls, pork belly and bulgogi. Our waiter was kind and knowledgeable. It is a small restaurant, so the environment is calm. There are five parking spots reserved, the rest is street parking.

Google
This is the second time we’ve been here and we LOVE it!! The food is amazing, the staff are super attentive, and the restaurant itself is super cozy. This is our favorite Korean restaurant.

Marc Johnson

Google
Good little place. Food was good, wish they had spare ribs but next time I guess. My young son that is was great, not to spicy for him and he is picky!! Loved it overall.

Michael Hughes

Google
Was invited by staff, swung by. Came home w chicken fried rice, two egg rolls and dumplings. Great food, wonderful people. Will be heading back.

Yelp
Seoul continues to be one of the greatest restaurants we've found in the greater Pittsburgh area. Service is always fast, even when they are slammed. And the food...my god the food. The Kimbap is fantastic, the ramen is killer, and don't even get me started on the Short Ribs (my go to every time we're there.) Only thing to watch out for is they do NOT mess around with their spice levels, so be careful with that. I got a seven and it was too much, but a six was just right (and while I am white, I do have a higher spice tolerance). Overall, love this place and will continue to come back over and over again.
google avatar

Barb C.

Yelp
Really good food! BYO is always a plus. We would have liked plates for our appetizers which were very good, but messy. Be careful with the spice levels, their 5 is not a typical 5! Service is nice, but a little

Yelp
Small hole in the wall type restaurant serving up some delicious Korean food! With very limited seating it is recommended to reserve ahead but we were lucky walking in for dinner. Service was prompt and food came out on a sizzling skillet. We started out with a tempura shrimp kimbap which was a first for me. It was really good. I got the beef bulgogi for dinner that came with a small side of white rice. I enjoyed the sweet and savory flavor of the bulgogi. The beef was very tender. We were a little confused toward the end of our meal as no one came back to check on us and were looking for a box and the check. After getting up to grab someone, we learned that you pay at the register. Needless to say we never got a container. Great food! Would just like to see consistency in service through the meal, not just at the beginning.

Yelp
Tried this place coming in with high expectations due to the reviews. The restaurant was small with only about 8-10 tables and filled up quickly after opening. The side dishes and the kimchi pancake were the best parts of the meal. The main dishes seemed rushed or just not traditional compared to Korean dishes I've had in the past. What the website advertises is not what we received, but I'm not complaining because it was visually much better than the photos. Not as tasty as what I was expecting.
google avatar

Selina J.

Yelp
The seafood pancake and dinner boxes were delicious and had a great flavor. The kimchi jjigae (heat level 3/10) was much spicier than expected and did not have a traditional jjigae flavor. The service was much slower than other places than I am used to, but that is also why they have reservations and not walk-in.

Yelp
Truth be told, there really isn't a Korean food scene here in PGH. The new Seoul Korean BBQ and also Golden Pig in Cecil now are the only "south" side locations that offer up this cuisine. Overall service is great and everyone is friendly and helpful. The lady chef also comes out to speak and ask how things are, making sure any feedback is used to improve their offerings and to make future visits more enjoyable for their patrons. Food-wise. Two favorites stand out to me: The bibimbap, a mix of rice, vegetables and your choice of protein in a hot stone sizzling pot topped with a fried egg. The seafood pancake (aka Haemul-Jeon) is a savory mix of seafood that is also placed on a sizzling plate. To top it off, the accompaniments (banchan sides of kimchi, picked radish and cucumbers plus 3 sauces) and the brewed corn tea really round out the meal. I have been back several times and enjoy coming here.

Kerri S.

Yelp
We were so excited to try this place. You have to make reservation because it it so small inside. All of the people working there were delightful. Our two top table was so cramped so that made it tough. The food was good but my biggest complaint is that I ordered chicken and they gave me pork. I should've said something, but I didn't. I don't really like pork, but it would've been a bigger issue if I had dietary or religious restrictions and couldn't have pork but I guess in that case I would've said something. All in all it was a good experience and I would definitely recommend trying this place. We will go back to try other things on the menu. And by the way, it is BYOB.

Yelp
The BEST Gochujang (spicy red sauce) house made! Be ready for top of your head to sweat deliciousness and tofu (house made) was flash fried (like agedsshi tofu) - melts in your mouth The Bibimap- real Dolsot (stayed hot the whole meal) Green tea or bori-cha is served in restaurants theme colors of black and red painted, iron kettles, with iron cups and saucers again, the difference in keeping the consumable warm- wow! They can make the pancake gluten free, which you can get veg, kimchi or seafood (if you like seafood it's really good) Soups and other delectable traditional dishes were ordered by other diners. Parking is at a premium, advise making a reservation, at least on the weekends, they had to politely turn people away because they were full with reservations, this place is understandably sought after. Take out is another option. Owners are really nice, staff is friendly and helpful. Ambience is modern clean lines lots of red, black and gray with black drawn curtains to create an intimate dining experience. You cash out at the register. Come hungry! The food is fresh and portions generous.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday evening in December. The restaurant was super busy, but the employees were working really hard to clear tables as they became available. We didn't have to wait too long for a table for two, maybe 10 mins. I ordered the kimchi jjigae because it was cold and soup sounded good. The soup came out really fast and the bowl was piping hot and filled with so much cabbage. There were a few small pieces of pork but I felt like it was 90% cabbage. The flavor of the broth was amazing and the spice was there. I wish they came by more to fill my water and give more napkins because I finished mine pretty fast, but again, they were really busy. It came with the perfect amount of rice on the side. There were four different banchans and they were all great. Would come back to try a different dish.

Yelp
Great experience from the beginning to the end. Waitress was helpful with our questions and the food wqs really good. Spice is not missing and the heat is intense once you go above 5, just an FYI!
google avatar

Yelp
We wanted to try something new and I felt like Korean. We looked on Yelp to find a close place on our way home. We decided to try Seoul Korean BBQ since it got good reviews and it was on our way home. I'll start with the positives. The waiter was nice when he took our order and gave us our check. The food runners were very nice. I really liked the bulgogi egg roll. It tasted really good but it was crazy greasy. Now for the stuff that we felt was just ok. My husband had the bulgogi beef fried rice bowl. He liked it and thought it was good beef. I got the bulgogi beef bent box with cucumber and spinach sides. I love bulgogi and wanted to really like it but thought it was just ok. I was not a fan of the chicken Mandi (dumpling). It was sold as a rock and had an odd flavor. I wanted to like it better than I did. Just thought it was ok sadly.

Yelp
If you have been contemplating trying this place .. just do it! We did and where not disappointed (sorry I did not snap pics of the food but it was all delicious!) The staff is so friendly .. you can tell its family ran. We did have to wait for a table... but def worth waiting for. Off the menu - we got #14,15 and the beef fried rice...all at different heat level. They bring you the sides as shareable as well as the sauces -- teriyaki was my fav! You just have to try it! Support local business at a great restaurant!
google avatar

Yelp
Do it! The restaurant is on the main drag of Carnegie. Parking is on the side or on-street parking. The entrance is on the side of the building. The ambience is small but cozy. The food is amazing. Huge portions. The service was pretty good for a full house. They do ask what your spicy level is 0-10. We will definitely be back again!

Yelp
Delicious Korean food! Highly recommend making a reservation because the restaurant is very small with only a few tables. It is a casual atmosphere, with the waiters in more formal attire to match the quality of the food. I ordered the Bulgogi with beef and it was very delicious! I asked for a level 4 of spice, which I thought was a nice level of heat without overwhelming the rest of the dish. The beef was tender and seasoned with a BBQ marinade and pepper, tasty by itself and with the veggies. The veggies were onions, beans, and carrots cooked until soft. I would have liked more green beans and carrots, as it was heavily onion, but still tasted great. I also really liked the sesame seeds sprinkled on top to add a crunchy subtle flavor. The dish also comes with a side of rice for you to mix in. Portions are large enough that I was only able to eat half, giving me enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Prices are a bit expensive, but the quantity and quality of the meal makes it worth it!

Yelp
This place was fantastic. It's a small space with a very small kitchen, but the place was run by a very friendly staff who seemed to have a good rapport with each other and with their regulars. I ordered takeout, but they were churning out delicious looking Korean food in earthenware crocks and cast iron platters at the restaurant. It all looked optimized to ensure every dish was still piping hot and delicious by the time it got to the table. Everything we ordered was extremely well made and well presented. We ordered a spicy level 7 (out of 10) on a few dishes, and they achieved that heat by adding finely diced fresh chiles to our dishes. That was a nice touch that made it easy to temper the heat for those who wanted to. All-in-all, this was an excellent find in an unexpected section of Carnegie.

Yelp
There is a reason all the Yelp Elites give 5 Stars. I am not going to repeat them here. If you are looking at this review, plug the address in the GPS and go. You just stumble on a great secret.
google avatar

Joe H.

Yelp
This place is so good that I find myself daydreaming about it sometimes. I'm working on trying everything on the menu. So far, I have enjoyed everything. Great people too.
google avatar

Marlee B.

Yelp
Visited on a Saturday evening. Luckily we had reservations because it was busy. Service was great, and the food was amazing! This spot is worth the drive!!!
google avatar

Alli K.

Yelp
Just delicious! It's a bit small inside but we were able to get a table for two on a Friday night and the place was always packed. Very attentive service and the food was outstanding. I loved my pork belly rice bowl. The beef ramen bowl was so flavorful too. While we aren't the most experienced Korean food eaters, this has inspired us to eat it more regularly. Glad we decided to go here and surely will be back!

M. S.

Yelp
Cannot state how good the food at this place is! The owner is such a nice person and a superb chef! It fills up, fast, so make a reservation. And, if you've never had Korean-spice before - go easy until you're used to the level.

Matt C.

Yelp
Wow that was an incredible meal - everything was delicious. Loved the kimchi Korean pancake, beef bibimbop and bulgogi - would recommend all of those

Jamiee V.

Yelp
Can't recommend Seoul enough! It is a small establishment so reservations are recommended, but walk-ins and takeout are welcome. The restaurant is warm and inviting while the staff follows this vibe. This was our first visit, but we will be back soon! The food is fresh, plentiful, and delicious!
google avatar

Amber F.

Yelp
Really wanted to rate this place higher, but lackluster food and service lowered the rating for me. We had reservations for 5 people on a Saturday night for my father in law's birthday. The place was busy and things started out on the right foot! Our orders were taken promptly but everything went downhill from there. We ordered a kimchi pancake for an appetizer, which was tasty but much spicier than others I've had before. After receiving our app, we didn't get our main entrees for 1.5 hours... to top it off, my husband was served his bibimbap an hour in, but moments later, the food runner came and took it away, saying they made it the wrong spice level. We watched tables that came in an hour after us receiving their dinners and getting smiling service. The servers were actively ignoring us. We'd look at them and wave them over, but they would scurry away. About a half hour into the wait, a server took my father in law's water glass, and simply never brought another back until we brought it up multiple times. Finally when the food came, it was all just okay. The beef bulgogi was okay, and the bibimbap lacked a lot of flavor. There were no apologies or acknowledgment of the wait or the actively ignoring us, even when we called people over. I'll stick to other Korean places in the city.
google avatar

MJ B.

Yelp
Fantastic and authentic Korean. Bibimbap is top-notch. One serious flaw; the tables are too small. It's a small place with limited tops...but there is enough room to get larger tables. The cuisine itself lends to quick cooking, lots of plates, multiple courses, various sized and shaped sauce vessels, hot platters, serving plates etc. The servers and customers are ALWAYS struggling to move things around as food and comes rolling out.
google avatar

Xin F.

Yelp
Hidden gem for sure! Value for money and generous portions. This place hits the spot! Owners and staff are very friendly and nice. If you're dining with a big group then make sure to call a head. This place only has a few tables.
google avatar

Justin C.

Yelp
This place is incredible. It's the best Korean food I've had in a long time. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. Negatives: the ambience leaves a little bit to be desired, and the dumplings are a little pricey considering you only get 4 for $8.00. Haven't tried Korean food and not sure what to order? I recommend the spicy ramen soup with pork belly, and if spicy isn't your thing definitely try the Bibimbap or Bulgogi, most of the dishes are customizable with your choice of protein so you can chose beef, shrimp, veggies, etc. Please note: I wish they would update their website, their full menu isn't listed on there. If you order from their online menu you're missing a lot of what they have to offer. See photos of the in restaurant menu on here (Yelp).

Michele B.

Yelp
I took my Chicago friends to Seoul BBQ and they loved it! Our server was helpful and friendly! It's a small place, but warm and comfortable! Definitely plan on returning!
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
SO GOOD! Didn't know you likely need reservations, but they squeezed my sis and I in. Great service and amazing quality food. Everything is so fresh!
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
I love everything about this place -5 stars all day. Added bonus - BYOB!!! Beef Bibimbap - best I've had - love it. Tip- make reservations- not many seats so fills up quickly
google avatar

Teresa D.

Yelp
Giving a 4 because they were out of the Galbi ordered the Bilgogi beef and chicken-spicy level 5,Kimbap and spring roll w/ shrimp. Everything was good! The wait was over 39 minutes but definitely worth it!
google avatar

Owen C.

Yelp
Surprisingly tasty authentic KBBQ and tofu soup dishes. Chef is Korean, with all others helpers non-Korean. Food prep is slow but good. Place is tiny, so not very well set for romantic outing, but also well-kept and no bbq mess in the dining area. :-) We really enjoyed the visit, even though we ended up being rushed due to a planned viewing after the meal. The staff took care of our time constraint and packed up our meal well. We just missed some of the side dishes. Next time!

Lucia C.

Yelp
The food is so fresh & flavorful but order appropriately if you want spicy, med or non spicy! Friendly & quick service, a great addition to the neighborhood
google avatar

Beth F.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD. My husband loves Korean bbq and we had a hard time finding a good place but this place is consistent and so amazing.
google avatar

Ana A.

Yelp
This place is phenomenal. The food was fresh and SO flavorful. Beware: seating is limited, and reservations are highly recommended. I truly wouldn't attempt coming here without a reservation, as I saw several people turned away. Takeout is only offered on occasion, it seems. Try their beef bulgogi and korean pancake!
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
How Carnegie is hot bed of amazing international cuisines I don't know but I'm glad it is! Seoul is a small locally owned place with amazing made from scratch dishes. One thing to note is that they now take reservations and have expanded their hours so they are now open several weeknights as well (my most recent visit was on a Tuesday)!. If you plan to visit I definitely recommend making the reservation because of how busy they always seem to be. Even on a Tuesday night there were only two tables available most of the time we were there. I've been there about eight times now and basically everything I've ever tried has been delicious. I think my favorites, though, are the lettuce wraps for an appetizer and the pork Bibimbap. Entrees are served with a variety of sauces and your choice of sides. Sides include potatoes, spinach, kimchi and kimchi cucumbers. They are the best kimchi cucumbers I've ever had. I could seriously eat a whole bowl of them and would come back just for them. Service is always attentive and even when packed food seems to come fairly quickly. Overall a an amazing place for a meal that' I highly recommend.
google avatar

Viv L.

Yelp
Super yummy. I was very impressed with how flavorful and well made everything was! The owner is very nice and even asked us if we enjoyed our food. If you love the taste of sesame oil, this place sure knows how to use it well. Every time I want to remember a perfect balance of umami, I think of this place even after many months. Their mandu is also perfectly crispy. There's also some really cool posters in the bathroom with a bunch of korean movies :)
google avatar

Noah B.

Yelp
The service is slow, but the ambience is nice and the food is absolutely scrumptious as always

Dee S.

Yelp
A wonderful place to eat when you want a different type of food. Loved the veggie pancakes. And I also loved all the veggie dishes especially the white radish. Watch the heat though on the food. They will ask you what number you would like the spiciness so if you're not used to spicy, keep it at a 1 or 2. Service is outstanding and the place is small but really cozy. The owner was very nice. Yes, they have meat dishes but I prefer the veggies. And they did not disappoint. Also, it gets crowded so you will need reservations. Very popular place.
google avatar

Nelson B.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem in Carnegie! This place is small so make sure to make reservations or get there early when they open. The food is amazing and not too spicy. The ramen dishes and entrees are huge! Most of the appetizers are big enough to share with someone. The parking lot is small but there is street parking.
google avatar

Nick H.

Yelp
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm This place always kills it... but beware. Hours are questionable. Call ahead to make sure because you don't want to be disappointed by showing up and having the doors locked. But... besides that minor flaw, the food is GLORIOUS. Oh god it's so delish, the meat will melt in your mouth. The veggies are fresh and plentiful. The service is quick and the volume, you could feed an army. Seriously you get an giant amount for the price you pay, it's a phenomenal bargain. The bulgogi and pancakes are a home run. Definitely go for those. Also... remember this place is tiny. Be careful what time you go, you'll have to wait if full. Use caution...
google avatar

Tina S.

Yelp
The food here was SO good. Highly recommend the kimchi pancake and the beef bulgogi. We also got the bibimbap but I think the beef bulgogi was my favorite. The flavors were incredible, not to mention the service was outstanding. We can't believe we lived about 10 minutes away from this place for so long without coming here. Amazing.
google avatar

Pierandrea F.

Yelp
Good food and wasn't too pricy for Korean food. I wish the portion size was a little bit bigger but I did enjoy my dish. Definitely a go to restaurant again
google avatar

Liz G.

Yelp
The food at Seoul Korean BBQ is top notch. We started with the fresh veggie spring rolls and the korean style kimchi pancake. I had never had kimchi before and unfortunately, I didn't care for it. However, I still tried some of the it and the pancake was light & fluffy. My fiancé really enjoyed it! I had the beef Bulgogi and it was awesome. The meat was tender & juicy!! The portions are HUGE so i was glad to take leftovers home. My fiancé had the beef bibimbap and really enjoyed it as well. Both dishes came out sizzling hot on a cast iron! I would definitely recommend making a reservation! We went at 6pm on a Wednesday night and waited 30 min - which they told us and was totally fine. The service was good. Our server was attentive but she was the only one waiting on tables so naturally there were some times we waited a while for her to come back. All of the staff is really friendly! Overall, can't wait to return and try more items! P.S. They are a BYOB spot!
google avatar

Andrea T.

Yelp
If you like delicious, spicy, hot food, this is your place! Waiters were very friendly. I can tell by the amount of patrons, and the ones wating to get a table, that thisnis a popular restaurant. And I can see why!
google avatar

Deepa M.

Yelp
3rd time here. It's consistently been good. I would definitely recommend the Bolgogi fried egg roll. Soooo good. The service is great. It is a small place so get there early if you want a table for a large group. Side Note: I can handle spice and got the 10/10. Wouldn't recommend it. It's all spice and not enough sweetness.
google avatar

Jamie P.

Yelp
Food was amazing! I had the pork belly bulgogi level 10 and it was no joke, I had to excuse myself to the restroom halfway through my meal to blow my nose but it was absolutely delicious! Every Thai or Korean place I go to I always order level 10 but this was the first time I ever thought, Whoa, lvl 10 may be too hot. Next time I may scale back to a level 8 but maybe not. The service was attentive and very friendly. It's a small place so reservations are a must but I highly recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
This experience took me and my partner completely by surprise because we did not expect to find such great and authentic Korean cuisine in Carnegie. It's not just the food that made our trip memorable but the incredibly kind service that we experienced as well. It started after we had placed our order and the staff stopped by the table to let us know that the peppers being used in the kitchen were a bit spicer than usual and they wanted to make sure that we were still okay with the spice level that we had chosen. The restaurant worked as a team and food was served by the server and kitchen staff, alike. When we got the Saam that we ordered, we were surprised by the portion size being so large and the taste was equally delightful - a dynamic mix of flavors and textures that lit up all of our tastebuds. My partner ordered bibimbap and the contrast of temperature, flavors, seasonings continued the party in our mouths. I ordered the Pork Belly over rice and I couldn't believe how generous they were with the protein; the flavors did not disappoint in anyway either. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. They helped make our dining experience memorable. When we were leaving, we thanked the chef and you could sense the tremendous amount of pride and respect she had for the food she makes. I am no longer living in the Pittsburgh area but I know every time I come back home to the Burgh, I'll be stopping by Seoul for some incredible food and awesome service.
google avatar

Bella R.

Yelp
Amazing food that is made with love! It is fresh, authentic, and will warm your soul! Service is attentive and friendly. The owners are sweet and hardworking! This is a wonderful small business that I truly admire and already look forward to coming back. So happy to have found this gem!
google avatar

Brianna W.

Yelp
Absolutely a hidden gem. The restaurant is rather small, only about 5 tables but they do take reservations. Upon walking in you can see right into the kitchen which was cool to see. We ordered 2 types of spring rolls, dumplings, 2 different bulgogis and a bowl. The food was absolutely amazing! Everything can be order on a 1-10 spice scale. I passively enjoy spicy foods (jalepeno and Buffalo level) and got the level 4 which was just the slightest bit too spicy. Totally bearable and enjoyable though. Absolutely will be returning for both take out and dine in
