Seoul Mates in Seattle absolutely knocked it out of the park. Taking over the former Gokan space, they’ve completely elevated the experience while keeping the soul of great Korean cuisine alive. From start to finish, everything was impressive. The galbijjim was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had—rich, tender, deeply flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The bossam was just as memorable: beautifully cooked, melt-in-your-mouth pork paired with all the right accompaniments that brought every bite together. What really stood out was the consistency across the entire meal. The appetizers set the tone, the entrées exceeded expectations, and even dessert was thoughtfully executed and satisfying. It’s rare to be impressed at every stage of a meal, but Seoul Mates delivered on all fronts. If you’re looking for elevated Korean comfort food done right in Seattle, Seoul Mates is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back.

I had a great experience at Seoul Mates. We ordered the kimchi nabe udon and seafood pajeon, and both were delicious—comforting, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was cozy and very clean, and the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. Highly recommend for great Korean food and a lovely vibe!

This place is a perfect mix of modern lounge energy and real Korean comfort food. The Kal bi tang (Short rib soup) is rich, deep, and soothing, The grilled pork belly is ridiculously good too, juicy with that perfect char. The signature cocktails are next level. You can tell they put real thought into every drink creative, smooth, and totally unique to this spot. The atmosphere is cozy but stylish. Definitely one of those places you’ll want to bring your friends to. A must try if you’re in Capitol Hill.

Wonderful variety of Korean dishes with great flavors. Every dish was delicious! The place is spacious, perfect for big groups of parties and large windows that open up make the space feel fresh and inviting. Great location right on Capitol Hill! Just keep in mind that parking can be a bit tricky.

Had a great time at Seoul Mates! There are a good variety of Korean food options like kalbi jim and Korean fried chicken. Want to try the bossam next time! The cocktails also looks really good. Beautiful interior design and friendly staff, would come back again!

So nice experience I just have in this place! The seafood noodles blow my mind and the drink were so delicious. We tried the Soul Mate and the one with Lichie and we were so happy... The bartender, Chris, was so nice, polite and fun with us. For sure we will come back to taste another options!!

The food, service, and ambience is great! It's not completely authentic Korean food but flavors are delicious and the food is made well. I really enjoyed the fried rice and how it is surrounded by egg that you can scoop up with the rice. The bossam was tender and the radish kimchi hit the spot. It doesn't come with lettuce to wrap it but they were so kind to make us boiled cabbage so we can have the wrap experience. I will definitely come again to enjoy anju with friends or on a date.

Service was extremely slow and we were never checked on once. I have never had so many issues come up within a meal. We ordered rose tteokbokki but were given regular (was extremely spicy, even for spice-lovers) and were told that the kitchen had accidentally added on noodles. They said the rose would be coming out still, but a different server tried to give us another item which we had to tell them we did not order. Our wings came out and we had to pour the sauce on top, which, is not a problem but it turns out the server took our order wrong and thought we ordered 2 sauces when we had already clarified with them that we wanted two different flavors. The second sauce didn't come out until later, which we had been expecting to come with another order of wings. If we knew that we had two sauces coming, we wouldn't have poured the whole first one (honey butter, would not recommend). By then, we weren't having the best dining experience so we told them that we'd like to remove the second order of wings, but we had to flag down 3 different employees who would not give us definitive answers as to whether or not they canceled the order. Finally, we were told that since we had already received the sauce and used it (we had no idea it was for the wings we never received), they would still charge us. We were surprised at this, so when we asked for the bill, we asked them to remove it and luckily, they did. Our server did brief us that they are extremely short staffed, so I do not think that they are really the problem, but I would say that they are apart of it. Also, the food here is quite pricy. We ordered 1 truffle fries, 1 rose tteokbokki, 1 fried rice, 1 bone-in wing, and 1 soju and it came out to $90 before tip. Overall, Seoul Mates had a great ambiance and is very much a fun pocha to take your friends who have not been to one before. However, it does not compare to other restaurants and I would not come here again/recommend it.

I like the lighting. I didn't like that I could smell a fishy smell like I would if I were at pike place market. Usually I never smell that at a restaurant and I've been to many sushi restaurants. The service was great and the food was amaazzzing. Had the crispy potato jeon which was my first time having it. Loved it. The katsu was cooked perrrfectly. It was so juicy. I did get it with the curry for $2 more but the curry actually was bland. It needed more salt. I wouldn't get the curry next time but loved the katsu sauce. Perfect amount of tanginess. The bibimbap was great as well. Im so glad my friend forced me to come out to eat because I wouldn't have been able to find my new katsu spot! Coming back again

Nice new Korean place in Cap Hill, but didn't meet our expectations. The service was slow and inattentive (never checked in on our orders, never refilled water, etc). One of our dishes was completely forgotten, so we asked for it to be removed from bill. The kimchi had a weird off taste, nothing like I've ever experienced before. The yukgaejang was inauthentic and tasted very off, like a seafood broth unlike the usual beef broth. The bathrooms were partially flooded, water everywhere on the floors almost an inch deep at some parts.

this location has super nice ambience! the interior is clean and has nice decoration. the drinks are good if you like your alcohol on the sweeter side. service was good, constantly checking up to make sure we have everything we need and if everything's made to our liking.

Food was just great all around! Tried the kimchi seafood pancake, bossam, fries and teokbokki and really enjoyed all of them. I feel like there aren't too many places in Seattle that serve the wide variety of foods that are offered here. Will definitely be coming back!
