"Seoul St. Midtown, a modern Korean gastropub serving bibimbap and Korean-style hot chicken, has closed after a near two-year run, the Sacramento Bee reports. Owners Minnie Nguyen and Trinh Le cited “economic downturn” as the reason for the closure in a message posted to the restaurant’s website." - Paolo Bicchieri

Service was great and friendly. Came by multiple times to check on us. We ordered 4 items from happy hour, and 5 entrees. The soso fries were great- the fries nice and crispy. Calamari was good too- liked the sauce. Garlic soy chicken wings were flavorful. I liked the pork wrap (bosum) more than I thought I would. Bulgogi was honestly probably the most disappointing item (if I had to choose 1). It was just not super flavorful. Not the normal marinated flavor. Chili pork was pretty normal spicy pork. Galbi jjim was good too. Tender and has carrots and potatoes. Kimchi fried rice was good and basically on top of a bed of cheese corn. All the hot skillets came with free refills on the bonchon! Warning the hot skillets do not come with rice so u gotta add that ($3.49/bowl). I will say the portions off the kimchi fried rice and galbi jjim appeared to be pretty small. Like u would definitely need something to supplement it probably. Parking is street parking so could be a bit difficult on a weekday. They have reservations by phone if you have a group large enough.. also there's a 20% gratuity for groups of 7 or more. And $20 corkage fee if you bring your own drinks, and also $20 fee if you bring your own dessert.

Google
Menu highlights Korean flavors complemented with a variety of different tasty encasements. They forgot our fried chicken and our drink order took forever but it’s definitely worth a try.

This place was highly recommended to try, but it fell short of the expectations. There were visible dirty tables around ours, our table had sesame seeds on it and other food pieces on the chairs and under the table. The prawns and Sosa fries I would recommend I would personally opt out the Sriracha sauce on the fries and put it on the side for guests to decide. I personally didn't like it, but it was still good. The bowl of bulgogi was a miss. It tasted bland with all the juice and flavor on the bottom of the plate. Having been to other Korean bbq places, this dish was a real letdown.

Google
Really delicious Korean food in downtown Sacramento. The boxes were just the right amount of food. Very well balanced and all around a good meal for a decent price. The staff was a little busy when we were there, so perhaps expect a longer wait when it is busy. Will definitely come back again!

Google
My friends and I came here on a weekday for HH (3-6pm and all day Tues). The drinks were delicious, especially the lycheetini. We tried most of the drinks on the hh menu and each one was different and unique. We ordered the kimchi fried rice and there was barely any kimchi in it. The fried chicken was very crunchy and the rest of the menu items were also good but nothing special. We would definitely come back for the drinks the next time we're in the area.

Was torn between giving it a 5 star or 4 star, but overall the food was superb. Portion wise.. was a bit of a let down for how expensive it was. Service was great with our server being attentive. Was lively when we were there which gave it a plus. All in all, it was a good experience.

We came in on Labor Day around 6:15 as a party of two and we’re seated quickly. The atmosphere was very light and pleasant. Once our very kind and prompt server (I think his name was Jeremy) made it over, he had no problem taking our order quickly. The food arrived fast and hot. The japchae had great flavor, recommend. The kimchi spam fried rice wasn’t flavorful and the corn cheese didn’t do it any favors. The chili chicken skillet was delicious. The chicken thighs were tender, perfectly cooked, had good caramelization, and a red pepper spice that I appreciated. I will definitely return to try other skillets and drinks.

We forgot to call ahead of time for a reservation so it was a little bit of a wait for a table, despite the fact that there were numerous empty tables throughout the restaurant the entire time we were there. We ended up getting a seat at the bar so it all worked out. Our bartender was friendly and chatty. The food itself was delicious. I thought it was a little pricey, considering I usually go to a different Korean restaurant that brings us more food for less, but I get we are probably paying for how beautiful the restaurant is, which is also in the trendier part of town. It’s a great place to stop by for dinner before a night out!

Yelp
I have been dying to go to this place and it did not disappoint! Everything from the food, ambiance, and drinks were all amazing. I was a little nervous about the kimchi fried rice with the corn, but I have been dreaming about it ever since! That was by far my favorite thing on the menu I tried, and can't wait to get it again! Our waitress was so sweet and gave such good recommendations and did not steer us wrong in the slightest! This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Sac and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I just had to give a shout out to this now closed establishment. Literally went on the last day and glad I did. If I were to guess, it closed for being over priced but not for lack of quality. A beautiful restaurant, I'm sad to see it go. FOOD: Delicious. One of the best japchae I've ever had. I loved the sesame oil notes on the noodles. The mandu was tasty and loved that they gave you banchan. The chicken was only okay, but still worth it. The bao was delicious but WAY overpriced for what you got. SERVICE: Just awesome. So nice and kind. Took time to explain everything and make recommendations. Everything was packaged well and with purpose. So rarely do you open take out food and think, "Wow. That looks great." COST: Too much for the bao. The combo plate was reasonable and the best deal on the menu. Again though not sure why it closed since it was so good. Sacramento lost a good restaurant.

Yelp
Firstly Michelle...you are the sweetest and most kindly server. Personable, bubbly, and attentive, lunch was so pleasant because of you. Boss really liked this place. The food did have a good flavor, but served in smaller plates, being a more glitzy and modern Korean spot. The menu showcased themed cocktails, attracting a downtown crowd and a chill younger circle. We did appreciate all the Y2K music!!! Usher, Brandy, Missy... Rice is separately ordered, Korean chicken was a mere 2 pieces and galbi jjim in a smaller hot plate...again good flavor! Price is about standard for a Korean spot but not so much matching size. Banchan is refillable to your hearts content. Street parking on a Saturday mid-afternoon is doable. Our group wanted to try something different and Seoul Midtown very much delivered.

Yelp
I didn't realize we came here so close to its closing date. A shame, because I didn't think it was terrible here. A bit pricy, but it's not like the entire experience was terrible. I wouldn't have said no to coming back. The food though, was a little dulled down in flavor profiles, but I scored that up to appealing to a wider range of palates. Portions small. Glad I got to try this place, but looks like I won't have the chance to do so again.

Yelp
Compared to some of the other eateries I've been to recently in Sacramento, I was most excited and hopeful for Seoul St. In no small part because of my love for Korean food, but also because it looked the most promising. The photos? Delicious looking. The look of the place? Right up my alley. Which, all told, only made our meal here that much more disappointing. With so many interesting dishes on their menu, I was looking forward to this being one of our new regular spots, too! While the look of Seoul St gives off a somewhat trendy vibe, the ambiance is actually super chill. There were a couple of birthday parties, a few families grabbing a late dinner, several groups of friends out on the town, and a bunch of couples out on dates while we were here, yet the restaurant never got all that loud. The aforementioned menu is what really got me excited, though. It's not super deep compared to most other Korean joints, but it still had a lot to offer, including a variety of starters, BBQ skillets, dosirak boxes (like bento boxes), sides, and a half dozen house specialties, like Korean fried chicken, kimchi fried rice, and galbi jjim. Not only that, they've also got a slate of cocktails, a deep list of beers, a variety of wines and sakes, and even happy hour specials. Like I said - one good looking menu! -- BTS MULE - Soju, Yuzu Juice, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Ginger Beer, Ginger Ale...$11 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/seoul-st-midtown-sacramento-3?select=JB-a2ruIIHnXp2kkkGVMsA) I would've got this, if my gf hadn't ordered it first (I love mules). Between the soju, juice, syrup, and ginger ale, this was on the sweet side, but I liked how well the soju, yuzu, lime, and ginger flavors blended together. -- KOREAN PALLOMA - Tequila, Grapefruit Soju, Lime Juice, Grapefruit Juice, Agave, Lemon & Lime Soda...$12 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/seoul-st-midtown-sacramento-3?select=mCRE5sN0WekmKW_zpDqXTQ) I was torn on this one. The way it's described on the menu fits my usual type of cocktail and this started out great. However, about halfway through, I couldn't taste anything but the tequila, so it felt like I was drinking a diluted shot. -- CALAMARI - Hand Battered, Fried Calamari Rings and Tentacles Tossed in House Cajun Spice and Served with Spicy Aioli...$14 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/seoul-st-midtown-sacramento-3?select=MBK7SVXAf9sBCoaahakCSA) This was very...ehh. Although the aioli wasn't too shabby, the batter on the calamari was far too thin (it was more brittle than crispy) and fell off easily. I also wish the Cajun spice was more evenly distributed, as some pieces barely had any. -- CRISPY TOFU SKILLET - Crispy Tofu Glazed with Garlic Soy, Green Onions, and Sesame Seeds...$18.95 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/seoul-st-midtown-sacramento-3?select=Qm_PSke9N-lO1oTb2kE7jQ) Not great, but not bad either. The tofu had a nice texture to it (felt crispy, but didn't feel heavily battered) and I liked that it was still soft on the inside. That said, as the meal went on, the glaze made the tofu get a little soggy and very sweet. -- BANCHAN - Included with the Crispy Tofu Skillet (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/seoul-st-midtown-sacramento-3?select=jw2kxgMgOqYNgg43l6HPtg) I don't typically review banchan, but you could opt to buy this as its own thing. Plus, the pink, pickled daikon was so good, it deserved a call out (crisp with a nice pickled flavor). I also liked the broccoli a lot too, but I wish it had less sauce slathered on it. -- GALBI JJIM - Beef Short Ribs Braised in a Rich, Spicy Broth with Carrots and Potatoes Topped with Mozzarella Cheese...$21.95 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/seoul-st-midtown-sacramento-3?select=RsUtEjHBvdgTonEGoUSMEQ) Not as good as my favorite (Daeho in SF/the Bay), but still pretty solid. The portion isn't huge, but I was okay with that, as it let us try more things. While I wish it was cheesier, the ribs were flavorful and meaty (though, one piece was a little fatty) and the vegetables were perfectly tender. Despite how uneven the food was, one thing that was consistently terrific was the service. In particular, our server was awesome - super friendly guy who was more than happy to answer our questions. Which also makes writing this that much tougher, to be honest. Given how good everything looks in the photos and how folks seem to love Seoul St, it's quite possible we just didn't order the right things. Neither the Calamari nor the Tofu Skillet seem to be very popular, especially compared to the Wings and the LA Galbi, so I wonder if our experience would've been different if we had tried those. I guess I'll just have to come back to find out, but until then, THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down feels about right for now.

Yelp
Late night Korean food Korean food is def one of the top favorites but unfortunately this place was really mid. There wasn't much flavor in anything really. Everything lacked something. Whether it was sauce in the Bulgogi, kimchi in the Kimchi Fried Rice, or spice in the Spicy Chicken. The Korean corn was definitely my last straw. Service was kinda bad. I get it, we're a larger group but it's like and? I would come back if it was for the bar but for real authentic yummy food, not here sadly.

Yelp
Seoul Street Midtown serves quality "Korean inspired" food in a lively, upscale and hip location with reasonable prices and quality service. Although, I couldn't really classify this a a Korean restaurant, the food quality was decent and had the right cross appeal to serve the typical midtown, hip clientele who frequents the area. In fact it's situated right next to The Mix, so I'm sure it stays open late night for the club scene and late night partygoers. When we went, which was early, there was a decent Happy Hour, and we were able to partake on several discounted items including, Soso Fries, Galbi bites, wings and tacos. We felt that the quality and quantity were great for the price. Again, the food was Americanized, which were were perfectly fine with and we totally expected. We also sampled a few of the drinks such as the MMS and the Jeju Island. Those were great. Service was on point and super efficient but not pretentious. We will be back.

Yelp
Came here on my birthday after hearing a lot of great things about this place! As soon as we got there, we were seated instantly, which was a great start. However, after our waitress introduced herself, our entire experience changed. I usually like to give people benefit of the doubt, maybe this person was just having an off day, but it didn't make sense when she was actively rude to us and dismissive of our questions while super courteous and animated with the people in the table next to us. Excited to order and learn more about the menu items, my friends and I began listing out our order, then proceeded to ask about their mocktail menu. It almost felt like we offended the waitress based on the way she reacted to our questions. She failed to explain what the mocktails flavors were, even as we kept asking "what's in it" as if she wasn't familiar with the menu items at all and kept shrugging and looking away from us. Instantly turned off by her attitude, we decided not to get any drinks. When she finally came around with our food, she started slamming all the little plates down on our table. This frustrated us more because it just felt so unhinged and hostile. This weird behavior remained until we were ready for the check, then she started smiling and seemed to switch up completely, maybe she was just excited to see us go. Now in terms of the food itself, this place has some really, really amazing food! We ordered the Galbi Bao Buns, La Galbi Skillet, Korean Hot Chicken, and the Soso fries. We also ordered rice and they bring out the side dishes, just like at any kbbq place. Everything was well cooked and seasoned! The fries were my favorite item by far! If it weren't for the horrible service, this review would've been an easy 5 stars. This experience was very frustrating and confusing for us, don't know if I'll be back here after everything, even tho I'm still thinking about those Soso Fries :(

Lon H.

Yelp
Chose this place to meet a good friend. Parking sucked. Went around a few times and finally parked 3 blocks away. 1pm Friday lunch was not too crowded. My friend suggested the Soso fries and they were more than so-so. The bulgogi paired so well with the fries. I chose the chili pork dosirak. Generous portions and tasty flavors. We even enjoyed a bottle of yogurt soju with the meal. Probably would order the galbi dosirak next time. I would also try some cocktails as I saw some unique drinks on its menu.

Kelly Y.

Yelp
FYI: During M-F lunch hours, only the lunch menu is available. We were given the whole menu and not told that they were only serving lunch before we were sat down and ready to order. So NO galbjjim, no other appetizers other than those listed under "favourites", no family plates. Just be forewarned because I was caught off guard and was only here for the galbijjim. It would be great if the lunch menu was in a separate folder/standalone instead of being attached to the rest of the other menu, to avoid future confusion Last time I was here, I really enjoyed the Galbijjim, it was a bit spicy but it's a good price for the quality you get. Very reminiscent of Daeho in the bay area but smaller size. It's only served dinner time or weekends.

Kalina S.

Yelp
The crispy potstickers were tiny but truly amazing, complemented perfectly by a delicious dipping sauce. The Japchae was tasty, although a bit too oily for my liking, and disappointingly only had one slice of red pepper. The kitchen operates at lightning speed, ensuring quick service, but unfortunately, we never received the rice we ordered. The servers were friendly, but their lack of attentiveness and failure to acknowledge the missing rice left a bit to be desired. On a positive note, the Bulgogi skillet was a highlight, but it arrived before our banchan, which eventually came later in the meal. The aesthetic of the place is artsy and modern, although the presence of TVs showing basketball games detracted from the cozy, romantic atmosphere I was hoping for.

Luciano Z.

Yelp
Solid happy hour with yummy food and drink options. We came on a Wednesday evening and there was no wait. I love how the inside of the restaurant looks as well with K-pop playing in the background. We got kimchi fried rice, spicy galbi jjim, and calamari. Definitely recommend all three. Kimchi fried rice comes with cheese corn and the galbi jjim was perfection, the beef, carrots and potatoes literally melt in your mouth. I just wish I had more. For drinks I had the lychee martini. I wish it was the lychee flavor was a bit more present but still tasty nonetheless.

Mitchi R.

Yelp
This is a more upscale Korean restaurant in the heart of Midtown. The restaurant decor is very pretty. It's a big restaurant so it is very good for a large party. The bar area is beautiful and very modern looking. Happy hour on Tuesdays can get busy since the HH hours is from 3pm till closing. My favorite dish is the Galbi Jjim. I can eat this dish everyday. My 2nd favorite is the fried chicken. You get 2 pieces, drumstick and a wing. This restaurant is not like other restaurants where the side dishes are automatically served. The side dishes are served a la carte and it has to be ordered separately. It is not included with your meal. There is not a variety of vegetarian dishes to choose from. You are limited. It would be nice if they expanded their vegetarian options.

Aaron C.

Yelp
Disclaimer, came here for happy hour, so I have no clue how other times are but if HH is any indication then I'm sure it's dope at any time. You're welcomed by a large dining area, but since it was HH we went to the bar. Surprisingly it was pretty empty for a Friday. Also HH is 3-6pm! Got the lychee-tini and some sort of Asian style mule (sorry, forgot the name but just know it's refreshing and tasty). As for bites, that's what I was super pleased with. The tacos (Bulgogi and Chicken) are solid, they're the safe bet for those who are less food adventurous, the fries too. The pork belly wraps is just their take on Bossam. The winner bite tho was their two piece fried chicken (which comes with a beer!) That rub they've got going on is so good, got some good heat but not overbearing and HOLY COW the crispy crunch on the chicken was second to none. As if the night couldn't be any better, we had the pleasure of being served the lovely Michelle. She was sweet and super chill to chop it up with while providing great service. Highly recommend if you're in Midtown and want to get some Korean.

Ariane M.

Yelp
We dined here for my birthday dinner with family and friends for the first time and loved everything about this place! It's a big restaurant, perfect for big parties. They have a nice bar with seating as well. The hostess, servers, and bartenders all were very nice! The food and drinks were bomb! I loved everything, especially the Galbi Jjim! I would definitely return for more!

Cat H.

Yelp
Ordered takeout while in Sacramento. I had the SOSO fries and Korean chicken wings. Both were excellent. Fast and friendly. I'll definitely eat here again as it's near the hotels that I frequent. The food was delicious.

Courtney O.

Yelp
Checked out Seoul St Midtown last night for a quick dinner and I left feeling like I should have ordered more food to try! I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice and my mom ordered the La Galbi Bites on the Happy Hour menu. I really liked the combination of sweet and savory from the fried rice as the bottom of the skillet was covered in corn and cheese. My mom enjoyed her short ribs as well. Servers were super friendly! Street parking or garage parking is available! The place is fairly big with a large bar area and some great pieces of wall art. They also have a great drink menu as well! Happy Hour is from 3-6PM all week, but on Tuesdays it is until 9PM! I will definitely be coming back with my husband for a date night to check out more options!

Amy H.

Yelp
Wow! Love their food and ambiance so much! They have a really open feeling space with modern decor and front patio seating as well. We ordered a variety of items including the Tofu skillet, Chicken skillet, garlic prawns skillet, Galbi jjim, kimchi fried rice, crispy potstickers. I was really surprised and delighted by how flavorful the tofu skillet was. I've never had tofu like that. The chicken skillet was very tender and the flavor on the garlic prawns was spot on except with the shell on it was kind of messy to eat. The Galbi Jjim was really tasty and is kind of comparable if you've never had it to a heart beef stew. The kimchi fried rice was a lovely accompaniment to the other dishes and very flavorful. The crispy potstickers were yummy too. Oh and I had a delicious drink called the quan yin cooler that might be my favorite fruity drink ever (non-alcoholic). My one complaint would be that we also ordered the beef bulgogi but we never got it. We had plenty of food though so it kind of worked out.

Victoria T.

Yelp
Came by for lunch on a weekday, seated immediately. Place looks very new and nice, big mural inside. Simple menu. I got the galbi box. I asked what the difference between the galbi and LA galbi. LA galbi is bone in and galbi is boneless. Also got the soso fries which is basically loaded bulgogi fries. Super good food and would return! Entree items are around $15-20. It was about $65 for the LA galbi box, galbi box, and soso fries. Water is served in cute little metal cup and the box is more like a tray for the food lol.

Courtney P.

Yelp
I came to Seoul Street in Midtown to meet up with two friends for lunch in the middle of the week. I had driven by the spot once before and noticed that there was a new tenant in the location that was previously occupied by the Irish pub. I absolutely love Korean food so I was excited when the opportunity arose to try it. To start, the three of us decided to share the Soso fries. These were crispy, golden french fries that were covered with an incredible sauce and tons of Bulgogi meat. They were the perfect dish to share as an appetizer. For my main meal, I ordered the chili chicken bowl. One of my friends ordered the spicy Korean chicken sandwich and my other friend ordered bulgogi lunch tray. All of the food looked, smelled, and tasted amazing. For the portion, the prices were spot on for lunch. I would definitely come back and give this spot a try for dinner, as their dinner menu seemed to be a bit more expansive.

Jessica S.

Yelp
This place is awesome! We started at the bar with a few mixed drinks during Happy Hour. Mixed drinks are delicious and food is very tasty. One of my favorite dishes was the fried chicken. PARKING: street parking and there are garages nearby, you have to pay for both. This place is totally worth visiting! I'll definitely be back!

Amy N.

Yelp
I prefer the dinner menu over lunch menu, they offer more varieties from full meals to small dishes whereas lunch focuses on bowls and box meals. The best time to go is during Happy Hour on weekdays at select hours (check online menu). $9 bites and $8 drinks! Plenty of seating all around the restaurant for small and large groups. Unfortunately I think the menu has been changed since the last time I went here for dinner since the online menu does not match the menu I'm posting, but I'll happily dine here again to check. Good excuse to go out and eat more delicious food! Our server was impressive, we had a party of 10 and he was able to remember all of our orders without missing anything. He was great at checking on us at the right times, never too often or too little. Everything was delicious. I'm usually a picky eater but thanks to my friends and the cook that night, I was able to enjoy my meal and try new things. I'm usually not a cheese person but the Soso Fries, best believe I was eating a good share of it. We tried a bit of everything and had no issues. Out of the 4 happy hour drinks, MMS (Modern Midori Sour) was my favorite. It tastes just like green apple! Lycheetini can taste balanced or too bitter depending on who's making it. Jeju Island and BTS Mule were good but I prefer the other 2.

Duane L.

Yelp
Surprised there's not more people coming to this spot. Korean tapas and Korean inspired drinks. Names for the drinks are pretty fun. BTS, BlackPink, Jeju mule Had almost all the happy hour menu. Chimek was delicious. Crispy outside and juicy inside. Really good marinade. It's only two pieces. A drum and wing. LA galbi bites are amazing. Got a good char to it. The chicken taco kinda reminded me of a McChicken but in a good way. The beef taco was amazing. Each order had two street tacos. Would definitely come again.

Jill C.

Yelp
Fun spot for some tasty Korean inspired bites! We came here for small bites and enjoyed what we got. I'd love for the Korean fried chicken to be a little less cooked - it felt over cooked and dry. Also love to see some sort of sauce for dipping....kimchi aioli anyone?? Shout out to Haley - she was a great server and got our orders and food promptly! Atmosphere was loud and rowdy, but we expect nothing less on Friday nights.

Malikah H.

Yelp
Such a delight to finally get to try this place. Apparently, there are more meat selections on their lunch menu so I will definitely have to return during the lunch service. Pros: The food was delicious. Both my friends and I ordered the Dosirak boxes. They ordered La Gabi and I ordered BBQ Chicken. both boxes had plenty of meat and offered a great bang for the buck. The only thing in the box that tasted meh was the macaroni salad, that was just bland as could be. The kimchi was delicious and the pickled veggies were a great addition. I was pleasantly surprised the potstickers were chicken and they were seasoned to perfection. Sad, I didn't get to try the fried chicken or kimchi fried rice so I will have to venture back to this place to get some more of the items that looked appealing. Cons: Service! Not going to lie, our server was a bit of a ditz. Asked for Kimchi and peppers, and three waters when we first arrived and a few minutes later saw him asking the table next to us about if they ordered kimchi and he walks away confused. Next another server came by with a plate of food we never ordered ....... When our server came back we asked about the waters and were told the bar was backed up......emkay. He must have heard our slick comment about his forgetfulness and that we weren't getting the kimchi or waters because he came back a couple of minutes with said items. Ambiance: The music was on point and the vibe was right; I will say the music was so loud we could barely have a conversation and our tone had to be a bit below yelling to communicate. Overall, can't wat to come back to try their happy hour and lunch time offerings.

Aly R.

Yelp
This restaurant is a great find - modern, fun, and perfectly balanced between sophistication and casual comfort. Most servers I've encountered here are friendly and attentive. Although there are several AYCE-style Korean BBQ restaurants in Sacramento, the creative twists on several dishes here are too mouth-watering to pass up. I've sampled a variety of things on the menu, including the SOSO fries, bulgogi beef tacos, potstickers, buffalo kimchi wings, galbi, spicy garlic prawns, japchae, etc. Everything is delicious, and their consistency is commendable. I'll continue to come back when I am in the area!

Charro T.

Yelp
3 star for the food, but I give it a 4 star because of location and service. There are better korean food in Sacramento, BUT for the location, it is very convenient, and their items are sharable. Japchae was my favorite! We also ordered the spicy prawn, pork belly lettuce wrap, boa tacos, and spicy Korean wings with ranch. I ordered the mule drink. Everything was solid. Not something I crave and want to come back to because it's so good. But it isn't the worst either. We stopped here after Ella's because we were still hungry after a few drinks.

Kristel V.

Yelp
Really good Korean eats! Tried this place for the first time, and I'm already wanting more! Kimchee fried rice: 10/10 - Kimchee wasn't too overpowering, had bits of spam, and it nested on top of cheesy corn that was sizzling hot... mmmm! Soso fries: 9/10 - fries were extra crispy, with Bulgogi, Kimchee, jalapeños and sauces on top. Would be 10/10 if they had a more garlicy sauce? Pork belly wrap: 10/10 - thin cut pork belly, with lettuce wraps, pickled daikon and Kimchee. So good! I like how the pork belly was thinly cut and not too fatty. Can't wait to come back and try more items!

Yelp
My visit to Seoul St is more like a 2.5 star. Came in here around 1:30 in the afternoon for a quick lunch bite. Upon entering we were greeted and sat down very quickly! The place was beautiful and the ambiance was so comforting, chill and inviting! I heard so many good things about this place however, I was kind of disappointed after leaving as the food was subpar and lacked so much flavor. I started off with the pink drink and well, it was really water down. There was no flavor, it lacked the strawberry taste and the sweetness that it needed and all you really tasted was the yogurt in the drink. The Kimchi fried rice came in a small portion that lacked so much flavor as it was so bland. It was mainly on the sweeter side and hardly had any kimchi in it as the pieces were so small. It served was corn on the bottom and id say that the corn and cheese overpowers the fried rice. The L.A Galbi bibimbap bowls was not a favorite of mines either. The meat was super sweet, super chewy and super fatty. It had hardly any meat since it was either fatty or just bones. This dish consists mainly just vegetables and even the rice tasted a bit spoiled. My favorite dish I had here was the Soso Fries! It was probably the only dish that had flavor as it was a loaded fry with sauce all over on the top! It came out fresh, crispy and with a generous amount of bulgogi and the jalapeño adds the kick of spice that it needs! Service was great and our food came out quickly! Overall this place is a little on the expensive side for the portion they give and the food does not have that Korean authenticity that I would like.

Yelp
Seoul St. Midtown is a chic, modern Korean bar & grill. The service is good and our server very friendly and helpful. We ordered several dishes to share and several drinks. The alcoholic drinks were expertly prepared and delicious. (No pics) Bonchon - 4/5 The Bonchon are just sides that goes very well with the main meal. For a party of 4, the servings were surprisingly scant. Th two salads were included with Bonchon. That being said, the all the Bonchon dishes were good. Kim Chee fried rice - 4/5 This selection is usually one of our go to Korean dishes. How this dish was prepared was unique. A bowl of Kim Chee fried rice was set on a bed of sweet corn. A very nice twist of presentation and combination with sweet cream corn. The rice was sticky, which usually is not the case. Overall, the Kim Chee rice flavor is not traditional but unique. Japchae - 4/5 Japchae, sweet potato starch noodles (glass noodles) stir fried with vegetables and meat is one of our favorites. The Japchae was was good and flavorful. Pork belly Wrap - 4/5 There was not enough lettuce to use to redo all the pork belly. Usually lettuce wraps comes with lots of lettuce because it is assumed that some individuals like and use a lot of lettuce. That being said, the pork belly was tasty. Garlic Soy Chicken Wings - 5/5 Very delicious and savory. The breaded wings were fried and tossed in a garlic soy sauce. The wings were cooked perfectly. The meat was tender, not dry. Highly recommend these chicken wings. Boneless Galbi- 5/5 You get about a pound of galbi. The meat is flavorful, marinated perfectly. We always order galbi when we go for Korean food. Another recommended selection. BBQ Chicken - 4/5 The chicken was already sliced and cut to bite size pieces. The marinade was light, not as robust as I'm used to. The marinade appears to have been applied during the grilling. There was some dry pieces, but overall, a very good Dish. Seoul St. Midtown is a chic Korean restaurant that serves great alcohol drinks and Korean food. For the price, I wish the quantity of the food would be more. That being said, for a night of good drinks and good food, give Seoul St. Midtown a visit.

Yelp
Loved our first visit here! It's gorgeous inside, the aesthetic is very pleasing to the eye. A bunch of open street parking when we came on Monday around 1pm. We got seated right away, it wasn't busy at all (we were the only ones there). Our order was taking very fast, and the food came out at a reasonable time. The only thing that was a bit off was when we asked for more water but didn't get it fast enough, and felt disappointed when our server was just sitting at the bar. Hope to visit again soon.

Yelp

Yelp
Came for dinner on a Sunday and it was not busy at all. We sat down right away. Our waiter was nice and the host were all friendly. The interior and ambience was so nice inside! They had beautiful art on the walls. There's bar seating, bar table, and regular tables to dine at. Food was hella good!!! We ordered kimchi fried rice, pork belly lettuce wraps, and beef bulgogi. They came with sides too!! My fave had to be the pork belly lettuce wrap because it had the balance of refreshing and juicy. The kimchi fried rice was also yummy. The corn cheese and a bite of rice was flavorful asfff. We also got drinks! The lychee martini taste just like lychee with some alchy kick in the end. My bf got beer. The packaging of the can was nice.

Yelp
Update to this review. I came here for lunch hour to a smaller choice of menu. But surprisingly this was all they needed! Although I love happy hour, the lunch box was exactly what me and my team needed! I got the bulgogi and had an array of jalapeño to satisfy my spice craving! I think I like the dinner option much better though! The ambiance was good for our work lunch, so if the team wants I would be there again! __________________________________________________________ This new Korean joint is popp -ing! We came here for the all day happy hour Tuesday and the 'dak fire' was so flavorful and delicious. It reminds me of the flavor for deLunas Tteokboki but less gritty and so hearty! I am in love with this dish! The galbi tacos were delish, it was my second favorite happy hour item. We had the galbi which tasted like typical galbi ribs, but you can't mess it up! I highly recommend coming in on Tuesday, and trying this "Dak Fire" because oh...em...gee!

Yelp
Hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Food was delicious, atmosphere was lively and service at the bar was nice. It was impossible getting a live person on the phone to make a reservation but we were in luck and grabbed the last 2 seats at the bar and avoided the waiting crowd. Hope to come back on future travels as they have so many other tasty looking options on the menu! Lycheetini - 4/5 Pretty tasty but the lychee was shriveled and sad Wonhwa - 4/5 Yummy but a little too strong on the pineapple Bulgogi Skillet - 5/5 OMG. So wonderfully tender and full of flavor. Comes with a fun array of 7 side dishes (banchan) plus a small salad. Does NOT come with a bowl of rice so be sure to ask for one Galbi Baos - 4/5 Overpriced for 2 small buns but the bread was soft and fresh and the filling was delicious. Perfect mix of short rib and kimchi.

Yelp
very good food. we got the chili chicken bowl, spar rib lunch , and the kimchi fried rice over cheesy corn. Everything was good, brides the salad dressing. Our waitress was amazing. The only reason why i gave it 4 instead of 5, was the limited items for lunch. We really wanted to try the chicken wings but that was only for dinner. Also the happy hour menu said all day Tuesdays but they said it only starts at 3. Needless to say that the menu was misleading.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday night after watching a concert and it was packed, grad season and you know how that goes all the aunties and uncles, the balloons, the photos....., we got seated right away tho so that was cool. If you are used to OG Korean, this is not it. The Korean small plates called banchan (which literally translates to "side dishes,") are served ahead of the main course, but they're not appetizers, they don't have that here. What to expect? Midtown crowd, bar area and hip korean food. Loved the pork belly lettuce wrap, the fries was good too. I would def come back for a snacky snack with a drink but this is what this spot is. It's your instagramable korean. Cool lighting and music, servers are awesome, Junior helped us and he knows his stuff. Worth the "check it out" and "let's find parking" on a weekend.

Yelp
This place is pretty good and they have a great ambiance in their restaurant! The food wasn't too pricy and it all came out super fast! The galbi jim was really good and we ordered a side of rice with it! The pork belly wrap was also good but can get messy to eat. The service was great too

Yelp
Food: 4.5 mics Galbi was sweet and savory. Japjae was salty but not too bad. Kim chee fried rice was delicious and the cheese corn was delectable. The sides were pretty decent. Service: 3 mics The service was okay. We saw the server in the beginning when she took our order and maybe once after we got the food but there was no consistency in checking in on our table. We had to wait for the check. The restaurant was not busy with maybe 7 tabletops. Ambiance: 4.5 mics Ambiance is very modern with street art covering the walls. (My kinda vibe) pretty clean. If you don't know, this place took over Devere's. The set up is more open than devere's was but pretty much the same layout. I would return and check it out again. If you're in the area, stop in and try the Galbi and Kim Chee Fried Rice.

Yelp
Busy on a Tuesday? Must be a good sign! As soon as I walked in I felt the good energy of the space and the people dining in. I arrived at 8p, an hour before closing, and the place was lively, hip, and smelled of great food. We ordered a LA galbi box, pork belly wraps, and the cheese corn. All dishes had great presentation and perfect temperature. The star of the show for me? The Galbi. This beef marinade was on point and the way it was cooked ensured the texture was soft, chewable, and not greasy in the bad way. The japchae, kimchee, salad, and pickled cucumbers was just icing on the cake. The corn cheese was good - what you expect but nothing out of the ordinary. Will definitely make sure we come back during happy hour to enjoy some cocktails. Our server was friendly, attentive, and pleasant. 1000% will come back and bring some friends.

Yelp
The dosirak is a perfect dish for those who don't eat much like me! I know the meat portion is not a lot, but it kept me full since I know I don't eat much. The japchae was good, but it was too salty for my taste. Other than that, I would definitely come back to try their other dishes!

Yelp
5/5 badass dinner Our server Kevin was super friendly and helpful. Answered any questions we had and killed it with his service Went with their calamari, pork belly, and salad. Would get the same again. Originally was aiming for Nittys Cider but they were out. Nothing to worry about since we have plenty of beer options They have music playing but you can still maintain a conversation. If you want a night vibe with the music and good tasting food I would give this restaurant a visit. Prices are fair for their quality. TLDR: Worth the visit.

Yelp
Came here for dinner Friday night - luckily it wasn't too crowded when we got there so we were ok without a reservation but I recommend making one as it was packed by the time we left. Excellent service - they were attentive and brought out our food and drinks very quick. Food was great. We did the bulgogi fries, Korean fried chicken and a bento platter to try all the fixings. If you don't do the platter (which was a really good deal for so much food) I recommend getting a couple sides to go with any of the other dishes since they seem to come standalone.

Yelp
I didn't feel like eating a full meal before attending an event so I decided to stop here for an appetizer and beer. I ordered the calamari and it was good but quite spicy. I would've preferred regular calamari with no spice if I could go back in time. The food and beer were affordable for an atmosphere like this. This space was super nice and the folks here are good people. They were friendly and attentive. It was a fantastic experience.

Yelp
Came in on a Friday during Happy Hour (3-6) and ordered the Galbi Boas, Corn Cheese, and Soso Fries. 1 cocktail drink . When we came in it was just getting busy and were helped immediately upon entering. The tables were very clean and water was served for us right away without ask. During happy hour our bill was about $45~ not including tip. We left not full but full enough to continue our night comfortably (which is key for us, we don't like to take food home unless we are going straight home) The food was good, what you should expect when you dine in DT Sacramento. Very clean, exact portions and thoughtful dishes. I was most pleased with the Galbi Boas as they were something I'd never seen before. The meat on the fries was very delicious as well. We would come again and even bring friends next time as they have options for family style dining. I'd recommend coming during the happy hour as the service was perfect and the ambience is quiet enough to enjoy fully and converse with ease.

Yelp
Ambiance was good. Food was good as well. I loved the pork belly wrap i ordered. Soso fries and garlic soy wings were good shareable items. Didn't care for japchae, it was basic. Service could be better, it's a bit of wait for everything-ordering

Yelp
This place has my all-time favorite happy hour menu. Before a Kings game, it's great to come here and order some cocktails and eat tasty food. Their cocktails are well made, the BTS Mule is my favorite, and their food options are delicious. I highly recommend ordering the bulgogi fries and wings. The tacos here are also really good. I can't wait until the next Kings home game so I can eat here again!

Yelp
What a gorgeous restaurant with a full service bar. The restaurant interior has a definite wow factor. Beautiful art and decor design. Exuding an upscale posh ambiance but without the snouty attitude. Customer service was welcoming and earnest during the lunch hour. They have a weekday lunch menu with appetizers, bowls and boxes priced from $9-$20. Bowls average $12 and boxes $16. I ordered the bulgogi lunch box $16.95. It came with rice, salad, kimchi, japchae, fried potstickers, and pickled daikon served in a stainless partitioned tray. The trays were reminiscent of the cafeteria trays used at my childhood elementary school. The food was presented well and looked appetizing. But by golly the beef was chewy and tough. I chewed on the first piece for quite awhile, I had to spit it out discreetly into a napkin. It just did not breakdown. Same with the second piece. Those were the larger pieces on top. I was a bit reluctant to continue eating the bulgogi but the other pieces were more tender and smaller. Easier to chew but still a tiny bit chewy. The japchae was delicious. The noodles were cooked to a perfect consistency. Slight sweet taste along with the sesame taste.Yum. They also have weekday happy hour from 3pm-6pm. I have not been to that. Overall great add to the midtown food scene. They need to work on the bulgogi recipe though.
