Sequoia Alum Shares Some Dishes Coming to Executive Diner - Eater DC

"An alum of seafood-centric Georgetown standby Sequoia as well as now-defunct neighborhood bar Park View Patio, Olutosin, who goes by chef Dadisi, tells Eater the menu at the forthcoming Alexandria restaurant will feature comfort foods ranging from Japanese-style buttermilk pancakes — “airy, fluffy and delicious,” is how he describes them — to pulled pork sandwiches." - Warren Rojas

Google
I recently visited Sequoia to try their happy menu and it was phenomenal from the service, interior dining space, and menu offerings. Everything I sampled from happy hour - elote, lobster roll, ceviche, chicken tacos, mini tarts, truffles - was very well portioned with amazing flavor. The service is impeccable with the team making sure drinks are promptly refilled, tables are cleared and making sure the dining experience is exceptional. I spent most of the evening on their outdoor patio with views of the Georgetown waterfront. $$ Paid parking decks nearby and paid street parking

Google
I went with my family for the Saturday brunch. We went because they served a buffet menu with bottomless mimosas. Alas, this is no longer true. They do serve bottomless mimosas though which were very good. We ordered appetizers and entrees. The food was pretty decent. A little on the pricey side (roughly $400 for five people) We enjoyed the outdoor seating with views of the Potomac. Our servers were very attentive and consistently filled our water and drinks. Empty dishes were taken away promptly. It was a nice experience. Doubt I would return.

Google
If you have a reservation, please request outside dining. The views of the harbor are breathtaking. The food was fresh and flavorful. We absolutely loved the staff!!!

Google
We had a wonderful experience here. The terrace on a summer evening with views of the Kennedy Center absolutely set it apart from other Georgetown locations. While the alcohol is a little on the pricier side, the food is a true value for DC, especially Georgetown and was great quality. We had the filet mignon for $36, excellent portion, and the lobster flatbread for $18 is an unbelievable deal on a unique item. Our service was warm and even on a Saturday night everything moved quickly.

Google
Enjoyed a delicious dinner at Sequoia tonight! Our server, Fabian, was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and made some great suggestions. My husband really enjoyed his smoked Old Fashioned and I loved the Pinot Grigio. We started with the Lobster Flat bread it was tasty but the cheese was a little too heavy for us. I had the grilled Branzino and it was perfectly done! My husband had the Seabass with bok choy and he said it was delicious. The waterfront view is quite lovely. Definitely check out this restaurant, food, drinks and staff are great!! I gave it 4 stars because the bright lighting takes away from the restaurant having a really cool vibe and ambience.

Nabonita H.

Google
Had dinner on the patio overlooking the water. I got the branzino and my co worker got the sea bass. The sea bass was a bit sweet but we liked both the dishes! For appetizer we got the crab fritters which I really liked - had a kick to it.

Google
I visited Sequoia for the Sunday brunch buffet and had a great experience! Our server did an amazing job keeping the bottomless mimosas flowing, which made the brunch even better. The buffet itself had a wide variety of option. Definitely one of the better big brunch buffets I’ve been to. The quality of the food matched the quantity, which isn't always the case. Overall, a solid choice for a lively brunch with great views and service.

Google
I can’t wait to visit again! I want to start off by saying George made my visit worthwhile. I made a reservation for my birthday and was treated as such. I’ve been thinking about this restaurant since I left. George kept my table (of 10 people) entertained, satisfied and educated us on every dish. 10/10, my Sequoia experience was memorable. One of my best restaurant experiences.

Yelp
Service was stellar! That's why I'm giving it a four. My meal was good... but I wanted it to be excellent. Price was fair for what we got. The room we were in was nothing special.., I'd prefer to sit outside but the weather wasn't great. For me it was a glad we tried it but I'd rather try something else than come again.

Yelp
9/26/2025 dinner visit This is really a 3.5 rating, but I couldn't bring myself to round up as I don't feel it's warranted. Sequoia is a beautiful and large restaurant; we opted to sit outside as it was a nice night and soon it will be cold to do that. Although the outside is beautiful, overlooking the water, and boats, I was thrown by the loud music playing at the bar. In my mind, Sequoia is a nice and more sophisticated restaurant, but the outdoor vibe did not match my assumption which to be fair could be a wrong assumption. After a delay we were greeted by our server who apologized for the wait and our dinner journey began. My hubby started with an Old Fashioned which he said was fine, but nothing to write home about. We ordered the chicken pesto flatbread as an appetizer and it was pretty good, we felt like something was missing though - not exactly sure what, maybe a touch of salt? For our entrees we got - lobster and shrimp salad (me) and the center cut filet mignon (my hubby). My salad was really good and heavy on the seafood which was much appreciated, it was very fresh and filling. My hubby's steak was good, he said it was tender and cooked well, but felt it lacked flavor; however, the asparagus that came with it was delicious. Service was attentive (after the initial fumble) and friendly and overall everything was average.

Yelp
I had their Chilean sea bass and it was *chef's kiss* ‍ it was so good and I'm glad I went with that choice! I had dinner here around sunset. It was kind of chilly out so I wanted a view without dealing with the cold. Lucky for me everyone wanted to be outside. I had many seating options. The last time I came to Sequoia was to a Yelp event a few years ago. It was nice to revisit this location. I enjoyed their cocktails. Outdoor seating is plentiful with heaters. Our waiter was friendly.

Yelp
Attended a private event here. The space is beautiful with amazing views of the harbour. They did an excellent job with the event. Appetizer were in constant rotation and they walked around. The bar had great drink selections, and even provided a smokey old fashion that was being walked around. The entertainment was fun, with a mentalist, and she was beyond amazing, with her husband as her partner, they were awesome people and a lot of fun. I know this review on the event space but if ever get a chance check out Evansons, Mentalist duo! The staff kept our food hot and always full, Buffett style. Which was all good. The risotto was so good, and loved the salmon! Also tried a butternut squash soup with ginger marshmallows, oh my just stellar. I thought it was going to be too sweet, but it was not. Definitely enjoyed the event and the event space and staff.

Yelp
I can't believe I waited this long to post this review. My best friend and I came to this beautiful establishment, over the summer when she visited and the party in my mouth for those hours there is indescribable. We went for their Sunday unlimited brunch. Total for brunch, including taxes and gratuity is about $130. This is deep, I know. But in my opinion, it is totally worth it. You have access to a seafood tower bar, omelette making station, including premium meats; fresh waffle station, fresh fettuccine Alfredo pasta station, crabcake making station, taco station and several other food options including dessert- freshly made live and bottomless mimosas and Bellinis. There was something for everyone, but if you do not like seafood, you may not feel the price is worth it. As for me in my house- I'm here for all of it :-D

Yelp
This beautiful waterfront restaurant is in Georgetown. We sat outdoors under big umbrellas & watched boats & ferries pass us by. Service was excellent & lunch portions were huge and prices very reasonable. We started with a warm cranberry nut bread plate; it was amazing. I enjoyed a shrimp lobster salad with 1/2 lobster, 5 juicy shrimp & a plate of delicious salad in a tangy vinaigrette. Friends enjoyed a lobster roll & salmon plate. The 3 layered mouse cake was a perfect dessert for 4 of us to share.

Yelp
Good service. But no yum yum sauce Check out kanki in North Carolina for that good good taste

Yelp
The service was AMAZINGGGG for brunch!!! The food was also delicious. The bread was more of a cracker than toast but the rest of the meal was a 10/10

Yelp
Went to Sequoia for happy hour! it's in such a nice place down Georgetown where you can peer over the water (have you seen the view) and also get some delicious happy hours items. My favorite was the Mojito drink, shrimp hors d'oeuvres beef, sliders, and tacos. I highly recommend this place as a nice refresher after work. Also good for dinners or celebrations.

Yelp
Cool Sunday Brunch spot. If buffets are not your thing, you will not enjoy Sunday brunch at this spot. Bottomless food and bottomless drinks on certain drinks - mimosa, Bloody Mary, non alcoholic drinks. If you want anything else, you will pay for those drinks. All the food was great. I did not try any of the egg dishes but all of it looked good. The sushi was presented well and served by the staff which I appreciated - it was the only thing I remembered to take a photo of. The drink service was a tad slow but overall, cool spot. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The buffet is on a half floor so there are stairs you have to ascend and descend - to and from the food. Essentially a mini workout which I also appreciate. Music isn't too loud and there is a two hour time limit on the food and drink. More than enough time to try everything. Parking is tough, this place is right on the water. Probably better to Uber anyways because of the bottomless drinks.

Yelp
This is our go to spot for special occasions. And recently had a great Father's Day brunch here. $100 per person. Attentive service as always. Beautiful water view and good variety of brunch selections.

Yelp
Our family used to come here about a decade ago and it was fantastic -- unfortunately it has gone down hill. However, to start with a positive note, the service was good. Other than that though, pretty much everything was a huge disappointment. My brother had to send his steak (that he ordered medium rare) back because it was completely gray/brown, and they brought it back "well done" for the second time -- not worth sending it back again. The filets my mom & grandmother ordered were also not cooked to order (both ordered medium rare, they came medium well). The bread, which the waiters pushed a little too hard and only came with 4 rolls, cost $6. Even tourist trap restaurants like Le Dip & Filomena, of comparable cost and arguably wayyy better food, do free bread. I will say shockingly the guacamole was tasty (serving size abysmal though). And the salmon was cooked properly & tasted fine. But the tab for 6 people was $750. For the quality of food that was received, that's absurd. I will sadly not be returning. You can get way better seafood for way cheaper. Hell, go down to Farmers, Fishers & Bakers in the same building and it's 10X as good for 1/4 of the cost.

Yelp
Hmm. So, I came here for my cousin birthday dinner on a Thursday night. The service was really good and the staff were pretty nice. I heard a lot about this place but I guess we came on a slow day .. well we in fact did lol because not that many people were there. This is a pretty classy restaurant. The drinks were very good! I ordered the blueberry mojito. It was tasty but it could've used a bit more alcohol I switched my vegetable out and got asparagus instead. My food was OKAY. I did not like the sauce on the short rib. It was not for me and that is why I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars. I would have gave it a 3.5. We had the lobster flatbread for an appetizer and it was pretty good. I would definitely come back to experience a brunch here. I would not come back for dinner because there is not that much meal variety for me.
google avatar

Tamika D.

Yelp
Decided to try the A La Carte brunch. I ordered french onion soup, chicken and waffles which is served with dark meat, a side of applewood bacon, and a glass of rose. We hit some traffic on the way there so my guest and I didn't get there until 2:30pm and brunch is over at 3pm. Veronica was very helpful in explaining the menu options and had a welcoming attitude. We sat outside which has a nice view of the water. The soup was delicious but the chicken and waffles were just ok. I am going to stick with the buffet brunch on Sunday's.

Yelp
My favorite brunch in DC! Sequoia is nestled next to the waterfront in Georgetown. When you enter the restaurant, the ambiance of the restaurant itself is breathtaking, especially with the floor to ceiling windows. If you're lucky, try to be seated next to the windows so you can get a view of the gorgeous waterfront while you're dining. The restaurant itself is spacious. We were greeted by our server once we were sat who was super king and attentive. He made sure that our glasses were always full since we did the bottomless mimosas. The buffet itself is extensive and the options plentiful. My favorite dish were the crab cakes which were simply delicious. While it's pricey, I definitely recommend for anyone coming to celebrate a birthday or a special event!

Yelp
Great find in Georgetown that our friends who we lunched with here recommended! Very pleasant dining outdoors overlooking the water. I had a very done well lobster roll with fries. My wife enjoyed the shrimp lobster salad. I tried it and it was a good one. In addition their warm cranberry nut bread plate was enjoyable. We finished with the 3 layer moose cake. What a wow!
google avatar

Yelp
Ambience is great as it's outside on the Potomac River. The food is so so there were a lot of bugs when we were there because they had all the lights on and they couldn't dim them. The staff was so so we used to come here when we were in our 30s and 40s and it was fun to reminisce and see all the people on the beautiful sites. Definitely a good place to have a drink before you go to the Kennedy center or walk around Georgetown I would definitely recommend for drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
The ambiance is absolutely beautiful! I can see why people would want to have their wedding here. The service was exceptional! Diamond was an amazing waitress. She made recommendations and answered all of our questions. She was able to make a change to my husband's omelet before the chef cooked it. Great save Diamond!! The food was delicious. Everything was fresh and seasoned well. My daughter said her chicken was fried perfectly and seasoned well. I enjoyed my crab scramble. You can see the lumps of crab meat. The bread basket was good, but we were looking for bread. Also, I was a little disappointed with the portion size of the coconut cake. For the price, I was expecting it to be a little larger. The view of the water from our table was amazing. Highly recommend and make a reservation. This place is very popular.
google avatar

Yelp
The Sunday bottomless brunch is the best. Everything was fresh and delicious, and I don't typically like buffets but I will sing Sequoia's praises. The crab legs, crab cakes, paella and salmon nigiri were standouts for me. I also loved how the team was able to accommodate a party of 14 during the busy Sunday rush! They were very attentive with bringing us butter and refilling our mimosa's. Would definitely continue to come back for Sunday brunch. Loved everything about my experience!

Yelp
It has been almost 20 years since I visited this restaurant and I can't remember why I stayed away. Our 17-year-old requested a fancy lobster dinner and we chose sequoia for the event. The weather was perfect. The service was excellent in the food was beyond delicious. I had the cioppino, my fiancé had the spaghetti with shrimp and my dad had the Bronzino and my daughter says steak and lobster scampi . Everything was amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
I've dined at Sequoia plenty of times with good experiences with their brunch buffet, outdoor dining, and outdoor bar. The food undoubtedly is delicious. Perhaps the best part of the experience are the beautiful interior and gorgeous view of the Potomac River and Washington Harbor on the Georgetown waterfront. What keeps this place from getting a 5*, in my opinion, is the customer service. The customer service isn't terrible, however, it's not 5* customer service. From the bar staff, maitre D, and staff who don't have primary engagement with diners, the experience could be better which is disappointing because the other aspects of their operation is stellar. The staff simply seem to "work" without really making efforts to engage diners or offer a 5* experience outside of simply taking food and drink orders. If dining outside or at the bar I recommend arriving early on Friday nights and weekends because as I mentioned, people want the prime views and bar space. Overall a good experience. As far as dining is concerned, I'll probably stick with eating at the bar. Give them a try.
google avatar

Yelp
Sequoia's Sunday brunch continues to be a wonderful experience. The all you can eat buffet brunch provides so many delicious options for any palate. Waffle station. Asian station. Pasta. Crab cakes. Crab legs. Oysters. Cold salads. Desserts. That Creme brulee is one of the best. Bottomless mimosas, Bellinis, Bloody Mary's, soft drinks... And so much more. The service is always great. And the restaurant is a beautiful space on the Georgetown Waterfront. There's street parking and a parking lot directly connected to the restaurant. Check it out for yourself. Mmmm... Bon Appetit! Cheers! Enjoy!

Yelp
We started off the New Year with the holiday brunch at Sequoia and it didn't disappoint. Their bottomless brunches on the weekend are always amazing, but for the holiday they brought out items not typical of a weekend brunch. There was a dumpling station, Peking duck station, taco station, pasta station etc. I was able to try a bit of everything for almost every station and everything was full of flavor and fresh. They even had sushi and a poke bowl station. The dessert spread was larger than usual and everything was made in perfect bite sizes to try it all. We also did the bottomless mimosas and our glasses never got even remotely empty before they were already being filled. Sequoia has always been a 5 star rating on regular weekend brunches, but they are def a 5 star rating on holiday brunches and worth the additional price you pay for the holiday given the elevated food.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a wonderful experience! Beautiful setting and attentive service. Our food was delicious. The lobster/shrimp salad was perfectly prepared. My husband had the special which was dungess crab with basmati seasoned rice with a delicious sauce. It was plated from the shell at the table. Both meals were very filling. Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Mary-Ann L.

Yelp
While the service was a little slow where we had to ask for our cheese (focaccia) bread about 4 times, I would be remiss if I gave this restaurant anything less than 5 stars for its food! There is ample inside and outside seating with great views of the water. The ambiance is classy modern with floor to ceiling windows very bright with natural light through. Decor is understated elegance with modern ceiling light. Tables are covered in pressed table cloth, the right amount of romantic and social gathering ambiance. My friend ordered chilled lobster and shrimp salad which came with mango salsa and sauce and second sriracha vinaigrette. The New England chowder soup was divine according to my friend. I ordered the chicken chimichurri and grilled shrimp with coconut rice with black beans. Heavenly! Right amount of seasoning, perfectly grilled luscious good sized shrimps on a skewer. We would have licked the plates clean if we could. Definitely unilaterally absolute place highly recommended for everyone to enjoy.
google avatar

Yelp
Their Sunday brunch is fulfilling and elaborate. There is such a variety of food from salad to pastas to crab cakes. In addition, they offer unlimited mimosas that are in variety of flavors. The waiters are nice and pleasant. While the decor is bright and lively.

Yelp
Dinner at Sequoia is approachable fine dining. From the moment we walked up via the river side entrance and encountered a smiling hostess, who opened the door and greeted us as we approached, we felt very welcome. We had a reservation for an early dinner and there was ample seating, so a reservation would not have been required; however I'm sure they are busy during peak hours and would still recommend a reservation. We were promptly seated and our servers, yes, multiple, introduced themselves and gave us time to look at the menu after discussing the daily specials and asking the type of water we prefer. We opted for sparkling water and placed our drink orders as well as requesting the bread sampler. I ordered the blossom martini to compliment the spring season and my husband ordered the smoked old fashioned, which they smoked at our table. Both cocktails were delicous. The blossom martini contains lychee, which was a perfect flavor for someone like me who doesn't typically drink martinis, but does enjoy lychee. Very light and refreshing cocktail. The bread basket is awesome by the way, and everyone who loves bread should definitely order it. Soft and warm bread....delish. For dinner we ordered the steak specials. I opted for the filet and my husband for the New York strip. Medium rare because that is the best way to eat steak. We also both ordered the crab cake upgrade. The dishes arrived fairly quickly and looked great. The important part, taste, for the steak and crab cakes were both really good. I will say the portions are generous, so come hungry. I had to take some home in a to-go box and unfortunately, was too full for dessert, but I did see the dessert ordered by a nearby couple and it also looked tasty. We'll have to comeback another time to sample their dessert and perhaps some wine or cocktails. They have fairly diverse wine and beer options and plenty of cocktail choices. Overall, Sequoia has a great menu, perfect views of the Potomac River, high quality food and very friendly and professional people on their team. George, Zach and the lady, who I apologize for not recalling her name, gave us a great dining experience and we would definitely comeback. Thank you!

Si L.

Yelp
We were here Saturday morning, Memorial Day weekend. First we were worried that we won't find a seat, but we did. We ordered chicken and waffle, pancakes, and egg Benedict (not runny), all of it was so bad, no view would make up for it. The chicken looked like it came out of a bucket from KFC Server was not very attentive and I personally felt he was very condescending. He disappeared on us repeatedly. Coffee was ok. We order a spicy margarita that never came. I'm not sure why it is HIGHLY rated. Save yourself the trouble. DO NOT GO. Also: they add 20% tips on our bill. It is not justified if you are not party of 10 or more.

Yelp
I've head about Sequoia for years and finally made it. The weather was almost 70 degrees so I sat outside on the patio. I started my Sunday brunch with a waffle, crab cake, and breakfast potatoes...it was soooo good! The waffle had the perfect texture, the breakfast potatoes were seasoned well, and crab cake was yummy. The star of the show was the seafood paella. My GAWD it was good. More sweet than savory and I Loved it! I had a whole plate of it alone. My server was Rosalyn and she was such a sweetheart. Sis made sure my cousins request for strawberry lemonade in a flute was fulfilled. I would totally come back when I want a nice brunch to enjoy along the Potomac.
google avatar

Sunny H.

Yelp
Extremely disappointing experience at Sequoia today. Despite an almost empty restaurant inside, I was repeatedly asked if I had a reservation -- a strange posture for a venue clearly struggling with basic hospitality. Staff were disorganized, dismissive, and unprofessional at every touchpoint, from the host stand to service outside. If you value being treated with dignity and respect, look elsewhere. Sequoia appears to rely on location, not on service or substance. A shame given the beautiful waterfront setting -- but poor service is poor service, no matter the backdrop.
google avatar

Tonya D.

Yelp
We ended up at Sequoia's because Tony and Joes had taken their outside seating up because of pending rain. I love when what starts off as a disappointment turns into a great time. The food and the service (Ms Veronica) were outstanding. We had the corn and crab fritters, the sweet pea and corn risotto and the Bronzino. I also tried one of their frozen margaritas. Everything was delicious. How often can you say that when you go out to dinner? I'll be back to see Ms Veronica who made us feel like she had known us forever.

Yelp
I want to say that our graduation brunch here was amazing. It was all because of Isabella who set up the entire brunch but also our servers Arthur and Margarita were amazing. We had 22 people and we never wanted for anything. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. The food is amazing and the view is to die for. We will definitely be back when we are in town from California. Thank you, Isabella. Your personality is contagious and beautiful!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice restaurant where you can sit indoor or outdoor for views of the Potomac River. There's a bar outside that you can sit at as well if you just want drinks. My friend made a reservation for us which I recommend because it gets busy quick, especially on a Saturday night. I got the blueberry mojito for a drink which was delicious and then the crab cake entree with the coconut basmati rice. SO delicious!! My friend got a glass of Chardonnay and the Chilean sea bass entree which she said was amazing. Our waitress was kind. Definitely recommend coming here, it's more upscale and pricier. Our bill total for the two of us plus tip & tax was $160
google avatar

Eric F.

Yelp
Went out for lunch with my wife. The atmosphere was awesome, and the host was very polite and well-mannered. The food was great, and our server was friendly. However, I won't be returning. Charging for refills on iced tea is unacceptable. It's regular iced tea--just like coffee, it's standard to offer free refills at restaurants. $5 per refill. For a place with this kind of reputation and vision, I expected better.
google avatar

Cherie P.

Yelp
The view is lovely and the food was very good, but the service was horrible. Hardly saw our waitress. Our food took a long time And when it did come we had to ask about our drink order which took forever. The coffee was lukewarm at best.

Yelp
The food was really good! Service was very nice. Wouldn't let you bring balloons in for a birthday which was a bummer since we were there for a birthday. Lots of birthdays happening. Nice view!

Yelp
This place in Georgetown has such beautiful water view. The glass windows make the ambiance unbearable - perfect for dates or gathering with friends. We went around Christmas time, so the decor was very festive. The food was good - very well seasoned. The service was fine but brunch time was a bit busy so it was hard to get waiters attention.
google avatar

Yelp
$89.95 plus tax Unlimited champagne mimosas or Bellini .... They came around to refill as often as they do water. Parking and getting here was very confusing. My main hang up was the noise it was so loud like a junior high school cafeteria at lunch time... whew I couldn't hear my table of five conversation. They had a very nice variety of food. Crab legs Sushi Oysters Clams Mussels Lobster bisque Taco bar Paella Cheesy grits Salad bar Carving station Dessert bar Cotton candy Waffles Omelets BAAACCOOOOONNN All the food was just ok. I could give it 5 stars to noisy no live music just an expensive cafeteria ...

I've loved this place for over 20 years and the food service ambiance has been consistently outstanding. I swear there's no other place in DC I'd rather be on a Sunday for brunch than this place. Make it your business if you haven't already go. And if you're lucky catch them for a holiday or happy hour you won't be disappointed

Yelp
This is my all time favorite brunch spot! The selection of food is awesome! From the salad bar, seafood station, sushi station, crab cake station! Let's not forget the unlimited mimosas! You will not be disappointed! And it sits on the water in which is always my favorite place to be especially when dining!

Yelp
Courteous staff who try to really engage with their tables. A good vibe. Food has such variety. Paella, oysters (just okay), crab legs, desserts, dumplings, traditional breakfast foods, salads... milkshakes (freshly made).... Just go already!!

Yelp
One of the best brunches in the DMV. I absolutely love it every single time. The options are plenty, from seafood, omlettes and tacos, to oysters unlimited mimosas and sushi. This spot is perfect for a special occasion or when taking guest from out of town out on the town. Brunch is $90 a person but you will get your monies worth in food and views. The location is gorgeous. It sits right on the waterfront; you can dine outside during the warmer months. The only parking that ever seems available in that area of Georgetown is garage parking; on the bright side the elevator brings you straight into the restaurant. How cool! I will be revisiting this bring many times over many many times.

Yelp
Sat outside at a table by the bar. No one ever came to us - we had to go to the bar, including to get a rag to clean bird poo off our table, which we had to do ourselves. Ordered spicy guacamole and it was the blandest guacamole I've ever had. We left after that and went to another restaurant. Service 0/5 Food 1/5

Yelp
A Friday evening show at the Kennedy Center required an equally memorable pre-show meal. McDreamy reserved a table for us at 5pm so we'd have plenty of time to enjoy the meal...and enjoy it we did. The service was attentive and comfortable; Veronica was cheerful and very personable. She checked in with us at the beginning of each course and then let us simply enjoy our meal and conversation. We really appreciated having her manage our table. We started dinner with well-crafted mixed drinks that were tasty, not heavy pours of liquor. McDreamy chose the New England clam chowder and I chose the orchard salad to start our meal. The salad was a reasonable size for a starter but very hearty all the same. It was a healthy mix of greens, squash and wild rice with a light dressing that I frankly could have made a meal of had I added a protein. McDreamy liked his chowder so much that I could barely tell there had ever been chowder in the bowl when he'd finished. The restaurant was offering a steak special served with fingerling potatoes and asparagus, which is exactly what McDreamy chose for his main. It arrived cooked to a perfect medium and, although it would have been way too much meat and potatoes for me, McDreamy ate all of it. I chose the miso sea bass paired with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was absolutely delightful. The fish was melt in my mouth delicious and the sides and sauce were excellent accompaniments. I loved every bite. To end our meal, we both ordered coffees - Irish for him, fancy espresso drink for me - and we shared the crème brûlée. I could eat that dessert every day and not regret it. It was light, not overly sweet, and a wonderful way to end the meal with our warm drinks. The only downside of the experience was the emptiness of the restaurant. We admittedly arrived early for an early bird time slot and the host graciously seated us as the team was finishing their set up. But only two other tables were sat during the hour and a half while we dined. Granted, it was quite intimate and nice to not have to yell over the voices of other diners. There was also the fact that it was a holiday week and the weather forecast threatened snow in DC, which could have kept the hordes away. But we kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Surprise! Nobody is here because 'name the restaurant tragedy of your choice.' But nothing bad happened. The only tragedy was how few people were there to experience an amazing meal. With all that said, we will definitely return for our next pre-show dinner. The proximity to the theater alone is a huge benefit. Add the opportunity to enjoy another delicious meal with impeccable service and it would simply be foolish to dine elsewhere.

Yelp
Fantastic Sunday Brunch! We were going to a matinee at the Kennedy Center and stopped here first for brunch. There are so many other photos featuring entrees so I'm going to focus on what we thought was fantastic. Don't miss the crab cakes; lumpy, succulent and served with a nice (but not overpowering) Aioli. Pork Dumplings rivaled some of the best Asian kitchens. Carving station prime rib serving was more than adequate and juicy tender. Fried Chicken and ribs were savory without the ribs being overly sweet. Crab legs and oysters were sweet, with the legs being very nice size. My wife had pasta from the pasta bar where they placed the cooked pasta inside a wheel of cheese to raise that game up a bit. The buffet comes with bottomless champagne/mimosas. Veronica, our waitress was funny, fantastic and a gem. Special occasions--this is a must!

Yelp
This is a brunch review! I've done Sundays mainly and a Saturday as well. The Saturday brunch consists of tapas and it is interesting because they have a bread/pastry plate, a shareable oyster dish, shareable shrimp cocktail and a menu with tapas that are a great portion. They do unlimited mimosas/Bellinis and keep them flowing without you having to remind them. I sat outside and enjoyed the view but some bees were interrupting us! Sunday brunch is an all you can eat buffet set up. You can still do bottomless mimosas/bellinis. The menu is expansive. The flavors are on point and who can deny having some cold crab legs at brunch? It's fun and the variety doesn't get old to me. Service was timely and efficient. It is loud in there so I wouldn't bank on this brunch location as a place for quiet and intimate moments.

Yelp
Any day the sun is shining and the sky is clear and blue makes for a perfect day to spend down on the water in Georgetown. Sequoia's on the waterfront offers a tapas brunch that included a variety of yummy tasty foods for the table to try and served family style meant for sharing. Not your brunch buffet as they have on Sundays, but it was plenty of food to go around. Somethings were single serve but for the most part some things were enough to share. We were celebrating our beautiful Big Sisters "last rodeo" and started out here. Our server pretty much told us she ordered everything she enjoyed and kept the small plates coming as well as the mimosas! Small plates from Bacon, eggs and potatoes- which by the way were delicious!! As well as the chicken tings tacos- these were flavorful and filling. After the taco and a few bites of the french toast, I was full! Lol but I did sample a shrimp and grits, a quesadilla and finished with the yogurt parfait. The oysters and steamed shrimp were also fresh!! And delicious. I saw some plates that also included blueberry pancakes, chicken and waffles, breakfast pastries, salads...I mean there was just so much food and everyone was happy with the selection. After dining inside, before leaving my sister and I caught up for a bit on the patio and enjoyed a couple drinks on at the bar. We ordered the blueberry mojitos and as always they were delicious!!! Sequoias is an all around forever go to in dc. Whether you're celebrating something special like a birthday, anniversary, looking to propose, a cute bachelorette shin dig, or a simple date night, GNO, whatever the occasion might be,on a nice day you can never go wrong selecting this place! HAPPY YELPING!!!
