Google
Serenade Chocolates are made exclusively in the United States! They are located in the amazing Town of Brookline! They are located in proximity to many other different Restaurants, Stores and Salons in Brookline Village! I have honestly never seen such delicious, authentic beautiful types of Chocolates! They even offer Gluten Free Chocolate Bars and Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream Bars during the Summer season! I absolutely highly recommend them as they are always very affordable and serve so many different flavors of Chocolate, even if you just want to buy one piece of chocolate!

Serenade is such a lovely spot with delicious treats and great gift options! You can pick out a variety of beautiful and delicious chocolates and they have extra special options on holidays too! And they are covid aware which made me feel safe and comfortable in my visit.

Google
Gourmet summer treat: hand dipped sorbet and ice cream bars. Vegan options, you choose sorbet or ice cream from four flavors and then you can watch while they hand dip a thick coating of either their house milk or dark chocolate. The absolute perfect indulgence for a hot summer day! Be sure to also read the touching backstory hanging on the wall of this lovely locally owned business.

Great handmade chocolate...great staff. This friendly shop is not only my go-to favorite for self-indulgence, but also for gifts. Their pinata cake is my favorite gift (they ship!) for friends and family. Imagine taking a little mallet and cracking open an artisan molded chocolate cake filled with a variety of handmade chocolates. I'm posting a picture of some chocolates I ordered for Easter; they arrived in great shape; the boxes were pretty, the candy was great. This is a MUST VISIT in the Boston area, but if you can't go in person, go online!

Oh. My. Gosh. I have been shopping here for years (and years), and found myself spontaneously nearby today. I popped in, picked up a little cellophane bag of delicious milk chocolate discs with non pareils sprinkled on top -one of my favorites here. Decided to also get a couple of pieces of milk chocolate bark, and that is what I am writing about! Almost indescribably delicious and fresh! The almonds are about the best I’ve ever had in my life. Monica, the Scottish Chocolatier -with a voice I told her I could listen to all day long - was so kind, warm and helpful - and at the end of of a long day too! Run, don’t walk to this neighborhood Gem for delicious and beautiful chocolate treats and gifts! 🩷

High-quality Artisan Chocolates. Very friendly owner and staff. A great variety of flavors and prices to accommodate everyone. They have pre-packaged boxes and you can also pick your own.

Amazing experience sent dark chocolate strawberries to my daughter at BC! Highly recommend!

Google
This place is absolutely magical! The owner who I got the chance to meet, is wonderful, kind, and so attentive. You can definitely tell she has a passion for her life's work. The chocolates speak for themselves. I thought they were just going to be like all the other ones I've tried but boy was I pleasantly surprised. All kinds of fillings, vegan options, flavourful, and combinations so carefully thought out. My heart was so full and happy leaving here. And my belly was even happier eating all of them. I'll definitely come back to try the seasonal stuff like the vegan ice cream pops, and hot cocoa balls. Just the smell walking into the shop fills you with all the wonderful childhood memories and puts a smile on your face. I highly recommend this speciality chocolate shop. 10 out of 10.

Yelp
Made some chocolate-dipped strawberries for me as a special order. The berries were delicious and the staff was friendly and talkative while I was waiting. I grew up going here and it's still great

Julia C.

Yelp
Stumbled onto this shop yesterday and it's such a hidden gem! Chocolates were so delicious and the staff was so friendly!

A W.

Yelp
This company has terrible customer service. I placed an on-line order, never received the order & never received any correspondence regarding the order. I called several times, left messages, sent five e-mails & did not hear back once. Terrible. I'd leave zero stars if allowed.

Amber S.

Yelp
Service: Quick turn around time on orders and easy to order online! Staff is welcoming and super nice. Chocolate: I ordered a Valnetines piñata cake which seemed pricey at about $75 however, the chocolate quality, amount, and taste are well worth it! Highly recommend for a special occasion or just to treat yourself to sweets!

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Such an amazing assortment of treats!! So delicious, rich, creamy and flavorful! Here is a list of the assorted flavors in my pictures! Marzipan Dulce de Leche Blood Orange Kahlua Mocha Bourbon Thai Dark and Stormy Pistachio Truffle Passionfruit Sea Salt Walnut Marshmallow Viennese Hazelnut Pistachio Butter Crunch

Denise M.

Yelp
Being a fan of local foods, on my morning walk visiting Brookline. I came across the most delightful place for sweet treats. Brogan was the most warm chocolate soul I have ever met. The only thing sweeter was the candy. It was amazing. My favorite was the almond crunch

Thanh L.

Yelp
Had this shipped to me. It came wrapped in a ice package. The selection was amazing. There had different favors and filling on each item. You can definitely taste the quality in the chocolate. Most where easily identifiable but some had staples on them. You can definitely taste the attention to detail in every bite

Marina W.

Yelp
I stopped in a couple months ago to pick up a box of chocolates for myself and another as a host gift. As my luck would have it, the host cancelled so I suddenly found myself with *2* boxes of chocolates. Darn. These chocolates were DELICIOUS, and I will be getting another as a treat for myself soon. The selection was good, and the key that came with it just made me curious about the chocolates I didn't get to try.

Adrienne F.

Yelp
Our family loves Serenade! Every holiday or special event involves some chocolate creations from there, and they make a great hostess gift as well. The staff is kind and we love supporting our local chocolatier!

Sara E.

Yelp
Decent chocolate. Don't bother with the Easter eggs, the taste is fine but the chocolate is very thick and uncomfortable to eat. The service was perfectly nice. The shop itself is rather small and hot, but that's not a problem. I'll come back for some of the truffles (liked the marzipan and passion fruit, did not like the blood orange).

Sarah G.

Yelp
Found this place through a recommendation list of "local placed delivering birthday cakes during COVID-19" so I went to their website, was impressed, and ordered a cake delivery for my boyfriend's birthday while I was out of state for work: Birthday arrives and I get a call from the delivery service, the chocolatier was CLOSED for the ENTIRE MONTH OF JULY and had not only taken my money and let me schedule a delivery slot without any notification of closure, but hadn't updated ANY of their online listings to say they were closed in the first place. This is absolutely terrible business practice and has ruined my surprise for my boyfriend's birthday.

Patricia M.

Yelp
I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in Serenade Chocolatier. Years ago, they had a stand in South Station, and my sister and I would stop and purchase their chocolates and marzipan candies for holidays for our parents. They disappeared long ago from Boston. With the pandemic, I wanted to send my 94-year old mother, whom I haven't been able to visit, something truly special, so I paid $57 for a box of their Valentine's chocolates and $15 for shipping (less than 20-mi away). The box arrived yesterday, but no one at home knew who it was from. My sister found the packing slip in with the styrofoam "s"'s. There was no card, and my note appeared in tiny font above the bar code on the packing slip. Nothing to indicate who sent it except for an email address. Wow! To say I am underwhelmed is truly an understatement. I share this so you won't have a similar Valentine's Day disappointment. I love supporting small businesses, but I wish I had bought mom a box of See's. I know that they would have done it right.

Kevin F.

Yelp
Went into store, purchased a bunch of chocolate, and the salesperson said no to if my daughter, wife, and me could try a sample of one of the chocolates. Piss poor customer service. Try another place before you step into Greedville.

Yelp
Delicious chocolates! You will Salivate over them. Milk and dark both yummy. Nuts and caramel great additions9zp

T. W.

Yelp
The. Best. Chocolates. Ever. At the holidays my husband is sometimes given a box by a client. He brings it home and honestly, it's my favorite "present." So flavorful, so fresh, the textures! I savor each one. It's hard to enjoy regular "good chocolates" after tasting these.

Marion S.

Yelp
Superb chocolates, friendly staff, COVID safety measures followed. Highly recommended

Hayes B.

Yelp
Friendly staff, accommodating and most importantly amazing quality. The novelty chocolate shapes are amazing gifts that you won't find anywhere else. Love this place!! Can't stress the quality enough!!

Mother P.

Yelp
Absolutely the best, freshest chocolate in Boston! The best quality milk and dark chocolates- as well as an amazing, delicious selection of vegan chocolates... we have been shopping here for years for special gifts ... if you want the best quality and taste in chocolate, this is where to go!

Kalee M.

Yelp
Unrelated to taste, but the place smells like HEAVEN. The chocolates are very unique. You can get individual truffles/pieces, or you can get other goods like chocolate bars. I got the dark chocolate bar, and it was delicious!! Very luxurious and high quality. Note: $10 min on credit/debit. Chocolate is also very pricey - $7 for a bar of chocolate.

Anni S.

Yelp
I ordered a box of chocolates with the owner. I bit into what should of been a nice soft caramel turtle and it was so HARD AND STALE, I broke two veneers!!! The rest of the candy was also rock hard and stale. I should sue her for my dentistry bill.

Marissa M.

Yelp
I absolutely love serenade! The chocolates are so delicious and the store is so charming - the decor, the smell, and the wide variety of chocolates with endless natural, vegan, and gluten options. Many unique flavors - a few of my favorites and must try's are: the Vienese truffle, pistachio truffle, passion fruit cream, key lime, peanut butter cups, and (homemade) marshmallow dipped in chocolate! These gourmet sweets make an incredible gift too.

Margot D.

Yelp
Open the door, and inhale. THAT is the smell of real chocolate, folks. When I was a little kid (you know, just a couple of years ago) I would walk by their old location in Coolidge Corner, and would gaze at the chocolate through the window. Fast forward to now, they are still making the chocolate the same way (I think they have been in business since the late 1930's??), but in a cute little location in the Village. No, you are not going to get anything for 50 cents, but you can't get that at CVS anymore either. What you WILL get is something that will make you look like a King or Queen when you give it as a gift, or just give it to yourself...... you are worth it. I stopped in today and there was this enormous Santa being readied in the back that was phenominal just look at (although I would like to take a bite out of him). Their Facebook page alerts those in the know to what they are doing and samples!

Laura P.

Yelp
I miss Brookline Village, but mostly I miss Serenade Chocolatier. One of the marks of a good chocolatier is one who will separate the mint chocolates from the other confections. This I learned from Serenade. We still get their chocolates sent to us now that we are on the West Coast, mostly because a certain realtor won't leave us alone. Serenade does corporate favors/chocolate boxes. The ultimate gift for a chocoholic would be their chocolate pinata- a hollowed out chocolate shell shaped like a cake filled with their confections. I've yet to try it (emphasis on yet) but it looks wicked.

Angela A.

Yelp
Cute shop. Chocolate is good. Was really really disappointed with the pecan turtle. Caramel was so hard it could break your teeth!

Thomas A.

Yelp
I'm sure we all agree that a typical birthday cake blows. And you're always guilted into eating a slice to celebrate and then feel po'ed for having to indulge in something subpar. What to do? Drop a pretty penny for a very cool, original and most important - tasty! - pinata cake. This was a huge hit recently at a party and everyone had a blast. (Chocolate & a mallet -- you can't find a more perfect combo for twin 3-year old boys to go bonkers.)

Byron H.

Yelp
I'm in Brookline visiting from out of town and was just strolling down Harvard street and stumbled across this cozy, charming gem. It smelled so great outside and I saw the signage for ice cream outside so I figured I'd give them a shot. They didn't disappoint! I got the ice cream cookie sandwich dipped in milk chocolate. It was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

Alicia O.

Yelp
Such a cute little shop in Brookline Village. I couldn't just pass by the ice cream sign on a hot day--ended up getting a couple dairy free ice cream for my friend and a regular one for myself as well. Also a milk chocolate box for my cousin. Much as I loved how the owners were super kind and helpful, I just wasn't too crazy about the flavor and texture especially given the price. My friend who tried the dairy free ones had the exact same opinion. I wish it was creamier, silkier, and richer overall.

Kathleen S.

Yelp
This is my favorite business in Brookline. It is the perfect place to find a gift for the person who has everything. I have purchased Serenade Pinata Cakes for birthdays, Christmas, and Hanukkah and they have always been a tremendous hit. I love the little mallet that comes with the cake so that you can crack the walls and get to the treats inside. The employees are friendly and helpful and the owner, Nur, is always unfailingly welcoming, even in the middle of holiday season when they are outrageously busy. I have a weakness for chocolate (and their chocolate is exceptional), so I need to avoid going to Serenade on a regular basis...but, I hope that writing this review will encourage others to support this wonderful local business.

Jake C.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. They have like 1000 different kinds of chocolate and everything I've tried has not just been good but EXCEPTIONAL. I can't believe I didn't know this place existed. My suggestion is to randomly choose 12 chocolates on your first visit - after that, you will be hooked!

Laura G.

Yelp
Friendly staff even though they are understaffed due to COVID. The woman who helped me was patient as I asked what each chocolate was and recommended several I had somehow missed. Reasonably priced although you'll be paying more than you would for a box of Russell Stover (and getting much better quality, thank god). Most importantly, the chocolates were delicious and I loved the flavor variety. I've read several reviews saying that the caramel is rock solid. It must've been a single batch issue because mine were perfect.

Abbie M.

Yelp
Simply delightful. We had a last minute custom order for an event we were planning, and Serenade bent over backwards to ensure everything was absolutely perfect. They came through with a rush order for custom ribbon to decorate our perfectly paired quartet of chocolates. Everyone was so impressed! We will absolutely use them again. My favourite was the salted caramel in dark chocolate - I was skeptical of this trend at first but now I sneak over to their South Station location to get a few as a special treat! The fifth star is because everything is made locally. Supporting local business is so important, and this chocolatier makes it so easy! Their quality is unsurpassed.

Raul C.

Yelp
Serenade gets five stars from me for the following reasons: (1) Everything you buy is done on premises, no factory made chocolates here. (2) Their selection is really good, I only get dark chocolate and have still a few more to go :-) (3) Their product is up to par with the best chocolate stores I have visited. The selection is high end, with different types of nuts, fruit, shapes, seasonal, you name it. (4) Each piece feels and looks like it was carefully handcrafted. It is wonderful to enjoy a piece of candy that is almost an art piece. (5) Great service! Friendly and courteous every time. It is a little bit pricey but in my opinion, not crazy expensive as my other favorite chocolate boutiques in Boston. Recommended!

Vincent M.

Yelp
I was able to make it up to Bean Town to celebrate Valentine's Day with my fiance. As I was running around town to make sure our evening was special, I figured I'd hop in and grab a little treat for the two of us; it seems that every other male in Brookline figured the same thing! The place was absolutely packed! But I have to say, Serenade did a great job managing the line. I was in and out within 10 minutes. Pros: delicious chocolate dipped strawberries, incredible chocolate dipped pretzels. Very knowledgeable staff. They knew EVERYTHING there was to know about their products Cons: It was really pricey. Love the smell of the chocolate shop and I love the fact that they are a local business. Good work Serenade Chocolatier! Keep on keepin' on!

Mariana M.

Yelp
I literally stumbled upon Serenade the day before going home for Thanksgiving, and decided on a whim to get a box of chocolates to bring home to the family. Now I am no longer allowed home without a box of Serenade Chocolates to share. This place is amazing. They make the chocolates right behind the counter so you can see (and smell!) everything. Their chocolate is of incredible quality and by far the best I've had in Boston. They're a little pricey, but definitely worth it for a special occasion. Also, the lady who owns the place is so nice and is always very helpful when I come in to choose an assortment to bring home. My favorites are the viennese (I believe it is their signature and it is DIVINE) and anything with marzipan (the marzipan here is to die for). I would HIGHLY recommend Serenade if you are in need of a gift or a special treat.

Ruth W.

Yelp
There are so many good things to say about the chocolate here but I just got their Pinata Cake which I think is worth highlighting. Not only is it filled with their delicious chocolate including their signature piece the Viennese truffle but you can also eat the outside. They are able to customize the cake and have wonderful decorations. It is something totally unique and great for parties.

Chris H.

Yelp
Had to miss my annual vacation. Took myself to Serenade Chocolatier. What a lovely, friendly shoppe. And, Oh My, try the dipped ice cream bar.

Annie T.

Yelp
I walk by this adorable shop a couple of times a week, and every time, they are closed. Finally, I managed to walk by the shop while it was open, chocolate craving in hand, and made my way in. The assortment I chose was so good, and the employee who assisted me was so patient while I debated between the chocolates behind the counter. I seriously spent the night going 'omg' and 'yes, yes, yes' while sampling what I chose. I definitely pouted a bit when I realized I should share with my boyfriend...the peanut butter cups in particular were too good to give up. It is pricey, but I feel like it was so worth the price I paid. I was told by the employee that everything is made on location and I could taste the difference.

Kenten Z.

Yelp
This review is long overdue. I have been frequenting Serenade Chocolatier for the past couple of years. Whenever I walk in, I always end up purchasing more chocolate than I anticipated. The women behind the counter are always so helpful and kind, especially the owner Nur. You cannot go wrong with the sea salt caramels (my favorite), the viennese truffles, or the passion fruit creams. However, I highly recommend stopping in during the holidays. I was so impressed that they carried "drumsticks" for Thanksgiving, which was an immediate favorite at our desert station among the whole family. Serenade has made me a chocoholic, and I cannot say thank you enough.

Jill A.

Yelp
I found serenade by chance online and had them send me a box of chocolates. The chocolate was delicious and I especially loved the Viennese and passion fruit truffles, and the pistachio chocolate. I had so much fun trying each piece. I can't wait to order from them again in the future!

Andrew M.

Yelp
I went here with my girlfriend, who's a real chocolate lover...we only had a small taste, because it was expensive, but what we had was delicious and I trust her opinion on chocolate.

Alee G.

Yelp
The good: Great tasting chocolates The bad: Iffy service (sometimes good, sometimes bad) and price (too expensive!)

Emily W.

Yelp
I got a box of chocolate as a gift so I can't comment on price or service. But this is some AMAZING chocolate. Go buy some. Also, nice back story from the Boston Globe: http://www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/2013/02/05/serenade-chocolates-labor-and-legacy-love/pWyPiY6UyEKKtPABOpzPVO/story.html

Jeff C.

Yelp
This is one of my go-to locations when I want to gift someone something sweet. Pick out a custom selection of truffles or get some really unique and nifty-looking chocolate molds. It's a little place, but they've got a lot of variety. I recently got a small box of hand-picked assortments for some family members and it was a real hit. The staff were great too; friendly and ready with suggestions. Is it a little pricey? I suppose, but honestly the prices are more than reasonable and definitely worth it.

Rebecca K.

Yelp
Serenade Chocolatier is an amazing artisan choclate store with great variety, unique treats and wonderful service. Everywhere you look in the store you will find creative, beautifully designed sweets. These chocolates mix fine quality crafting with innovative flavours. Stop by, savour a taste, and you will come back! Best chocolate shop in Boston.

Shalian A.

Yelp
I finally was able to stop here before work yesterday and was elated until I entered. It was chillier inside than out. I was greeted by "'What can I get for you?", which is not necessarily a huge deal but also less than warm & inviting. A second woman, whom was on the phone, spoke to me the way a mother speaks to her preschooler who keeps interrupting her conversation. After snapping at me to use a small credit card tool that she begrudgingly and poorly navigated my attention towards, I had to ask, "Umm, what is the total?". The final straw was her tossing the bag on the counter with no eye contact- I realize we are living in the COVID-19 era, but I work in Customer Service AT A GROCERY STORE. I have never tossed a bag as if a customer was a leper. It honestly felt like I was bothering her BY SUPPORTING HER LOCAL BUSINESS. The pieces I purchased were tasty, but the aftertaste of my experience was surprising and left a mark. I will go back to Back Bay in the future.

Tom M.

Yelp
Excellent place. Fantastic handmade chocolates. Lovely service. These people make such a wonderful contribution to the community and our lives in general. They are a small business. Any complaints re hours, being up a few stairs, prices are ridiculous in my opinion. We are asked to empathize with every group with an issue. What about this small business person with incredibly high expenses including real estate taxes and insurance who keeps the place open, employs people and gives us such wonderful chocolates? (PS it is up a few stairs due to the age and size of the building not the business's choice).

Wilson C.

Yelp
Serenade strikes that perfect balance. Old World elegance and modern flavors are glued together by the timeless fun that is chocolate in this little shop with a maroon awning in Brookline. It's so hard to walk in, see the chocolate machine spinning, watch truffles and ice cream bars being hand-dipped in these rotating, Willy Wonka-esque bowls, browse the beautiful gift boxes and peruse the molded chocolate pianos -- and strain not to get something for oneself. Well, don't strain too hard. Personal favorites are the white chocolate pieces, as their white chocolate is far superior to anything you can get in a big grocer. This includes the "blondie" which as I understand it blends hazelnut butter with their white chocolate. Although, I do often just get plain white chocolate in a to go box. Don't worry, they have 72% dark and milk chocolate going to. It helps that the owner and staff are all fabulously nice, and extremely knowledgeable about their seemingly endless selection of treats. Their advice is key because there's always something new and seasonal, and often something cocktail inspired to try. My girlfriend just brought me a Mojito truffle (mint and lime with ganache), and we both loved the Dark and Stormy they had around Valentines day. A tip: they specialize in customizing chocolate gifts. My little brother still hasn't eaten the chocolate baseball mitt I ordered him for Christmas, because they went out of their way to decorate it with his name in white chocolate and colored sprinkles. They say chocolate has a good shelf life, but it may have to be a temperature dependent, just-for-looking-not-for-eating figurine now. Stop in, get to know the people and the actually really incredible story behind this place (Did you know the owner is from Turkey? Did you know she learned her craft from a Viennese Holocaust survivor they call "uncle Bill"?), try a sample, and start thinking about everyone who could use a little chocolate in their lives. You're sure to find what your looking for here.
