Serena's Wine Bar

It's called a wine bar, but it definitely has more cafe vibes. The wine list was just not that extensive. There was a one-page menu for food / lighter bites. For being empty, service was definitely a bit slow and they got my order wrong at first, but they cheerfully corrected it. Great place to come and languish a little bit and have a nice chat with your friend, but definitely avoid if you're in any kind of rush. Seemed family friendly.

Great brunch place with excellent food. The eggs benedict was perfect, served with tasty potatoes and mix greens. The salmon flatbread was also great; definitely recommended. The staff was courteous and attentive. At the moment they have curbside dining and 2nd avenue might be a bit noisy. The food is worth it though.

We love this neighborhood spot for brunch, dinner or happy hour. We even celebrated our son’s first birthday here. Definitely recommend if you’re in the neighborhood.

Right next door to my all-time neighborhood favorite (Mediterraneo) is not an easy place for my book.. bias aside, I finally tried Serena’s and was pleasantly surprised. A very low key yet chic atmosphere, accompanied by a live guitarist and tasty food. Dining alone, I sat at the bar. Was served a delicious martini, and the prosciutto flatbread was fresh, light and very tasty. An incredible pick for anyone looking for a local first date spot!!

A great neighborhood place for lunch or dinner and a great brunch too. Cocktail hour has a nice vibe. No fuss and very friendly service. When the weather is good they have nice outdoor seating space. Definitely one of my favorite places.

Great Italian food, best I’ve had in UES. Linguine aglio et olio w/ gamberetto was the perfect amount of spicy, really flavorful but not at all fishy. Tiramisu was good. Not soaked or spongy like it can be. The espresso flavor was a little light for me, but I was drinking un doppio espresso with the other hand so my palette might have been compromised.

The food and service was amazing! Nice quiet atmosphere. No noisy crowds but light chatter. This will not be my last time.

I've always wanted to come here and finally stopped by on a Friday night! I sat by the street and it was a nice vibe. I liked how cozy it felt. I had a glass of Prosecco. Service was great.

Quaint low key neighborhood spot. Friendly and speedy food to table service. We ordered the greek sampler, burrata and meatballs. All were great and -- sampler and meatballs were my favorite. Both indoor/outdoor seating available. Outdoor is covered so probably nice for a summer brunch and for HH!

Excellent dirty martini with a good variety of vodkas on offer. The flatbread was nice, but a bit pricey for what you get. Overall, not the cheapest place, but staff were very nice and everything we had was good.

As much as I enjoy this place last year, I was a bit disappointed this past weekend. The bread was not toasted and cold, the avocado toast was nothing as it use to be and the worse part was that a Roach was on the hummus. We did get a glass of champagne; however , looking back I feel uncomfortable knowing we stayed and consumed the food we order.

The wine was good... but the food definitely fell flat. My pasta Primavera had almost NO vegetables except for a few shredded carrots and tiny tiny pieces of brocoli. And the sause was bland. My husband's ravioli had good sauce but the ravoli itself were just OK. Absolutely no incentive to dine there again

I've walked by this place a ton and always wanted to try it. Food was delicious! Portion sizes were great. Wine was a little pricey but good. Service was quick and ambiance was super cute. Will be back!

We stopped in for dinner on a Saturday evening and ended up with an amazing dinner experience. We ordered bresaola flatbread for appetizer, porcini mushroom ravioli & penne a la vodka with chicken The food was surprisingly good! The flatbread was very popular, and for good reason. We saw that many tables around us were ordering it. The beef was great and the arugula was fresh and succulent. Both entrees were exquisite, very well prepared and presented. We enjoyed the dinner a lot and plan to go back

I had the best pasta that I had so far in Manhattan. Service was great and the staff was very friendly.

Great Brunch Spot! We have come here a few times for brunch. The service is always friendly and space is very open and nice. We had: - Eggs Benedict with Salmon - delicious - Caesar salad - tops! A must have. - Scrambled Eggs - made European style (if you know, you know) wonderful! - Bloody Mary - very good - Mac n Cheese - very good, made the French way with a roux. - Prosciutto Panini - very good Overall a great spot!

Went here after work for a drink. Excellent service, social bartender, and overall nice calm but welcoming ambiance. Really good cosmos there!

Serena's is one of my favorite places to eat in the city. I've been coming here for years and tried their brunch for the first time. I had an amazing experience. We ordered the Nova Platter and the Eggs Benedict, both of which were absolutely delicious! I would recommend either of those dishes for brunch. One of my favorite aspects of Serena's is their outdoor seating. There is nothing better than enjoying a meal outdoors on a beautiful day. Highly recommend dining here!

I stopped in for happy hour with a group of girlfriends. It was pretty empty on a Tuesday evening from 6-7pm. We were a large group and they were able to accommodate us. The waiters were very attentive and helpful. I can't wait to go back to try their menu and more wine and cocktail offerings! It's a great little space.

Really cute, intimate, dimly lit wine bar. The staff is great and offers samples of all the wines, got the 5 cheese meat/cheese board and it came with a bunch of extras: bread, nuts, pickles, jam, olives. They don't have flights but they do offer glasses, carafes or bottles of any of their wines.

Aside the service that was a bit slow for lunch on a weekday, food was nice and the ambiance was relaxing.

I like that this place is quaint and close to where I live, but had an underwhelming experience like many past reviews. Bottles are expensive, the plates offered are small and lack luster. Service was kind and attentive, though. This place has the potential to be 5 stars, but it's price doesn't match the quality of what's offered.

I came here for some after work wine on a Friday night and wasn't as impressed as I'd hoped. For a place that's always quite crowded I had higher expectations. The penne alla vodka was pretty boring and the pinot was just ok. Servers were sweet, though! Pro tip: This area is packed with cars at the end of the work day. Don't sit outside on weekday nights. Obviously not the restaurant's fault but the street noise and honking were annoying. Biggest surprise: wine wasn't all that great... Over all: Not trying to by wine-y but this place is, meh.

If I could rate this 50 stars, I would! Not only is this a go-to neighborhood restaurant with amazing food and service, it's also a beautiful venue for a private party . It feels as though you have stepped into a Parisian bistro. The owner Hassan, couldn't be more accommodating and the dining experience here is always 100% .

I came here around 4 PM with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. We sat outside and drank Whispering Angel Rosé and shared the Greek Sampler Appetizer of Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, and Tzatziki with grilled pita. Overall I enjoyed the wine, the appetizer, and the relaxed feeling of being outside. The service was prompt and very friendly. This is a great spot.

Won't return. Their wine is not too good and service is so so. I've two reds: Sangiovese, Toscana La Lecciaia 2011 and Bordeaux Chateau haut Heyruguet 2016. Between the two, Bordeaux is better. Both are $13 a glass (retail at $16.99 and $11.99 a bottle on vivino), NOT complaining how much they charge but wondering why can't they serve better quality wines. Which brings me to Barcibo Enoteca on B'way that served excellent Italian wines but it had closed ... hmmmm ... Was it because the cost of better wines cost their business? The skinless almonds are really good. The olives are looking tired and too many, just not appetizing. The cheeses on the Small Cheese Plates are good. ... Forgot to ask if the bar is named after the tennis great -:)

Cute spot in the UES for happy hour or dinner! Have passed this place so many times and am mad I haven't been more often. The outdoor seating had very relaxing vibes and service was friendly. Food was delicious! My boyfriend and I ordered paninis and the burrata. Everything was paired perfectly with a glass of wine. They had a really great selection. Perfect spot for a date or place to bring your parents if they're in town. Can't wait to go back!

Yeah, i was asked to leave after dining here for some times..save your money and go somewhere else. Avoid this place at all cost!!

I really want to love this place as it's so convenient to where I live. I've been there a half a dozen times and food/service is usually ok. I was there yesterday afternoon for a drink with a friend and we ordered an appetizer plate to share with glasses of wine. When the food arrived, we had no utensils, napkins etc. So my friend got up from our table to find our waitress - when he asked for utensils, the response was 'we only give those when people order an entree.' We were handed paper napkins (the utensils are wrapped in cloth napkins) and proceeded to clumsily eat our food without any utensils. My basic expectation at a restaurant is to be given utensils, especially when specifically asked for. Sorry, you just lost a regular customer.

Serena's is my absolute favorite place to go in the neighborhood. The food, drinks and atmosphere are always fantastic. And the owner, Hasan, and staff welcome and treat me, my husband and our dogs like family . In my experience, they are the most dog friendly restaurant in the neighborhood. The owner even named a drink after my dog when he passed last year. Try the "Sir Winston" when you go in! I have been going to Serena's since they opened 8 years ago and I am so glad I walked in that front door!!

The food and service and ambiance are why Serena's deserves 5 stars. Serena's is THE best wine bar on the Upper East Side. They have live music weekly as well as the best wine selection, paired with amazing food. The staff are so kind and accommodating. I love to sit at the bar and have either dinner OR a tasty dessert with a glass of wine. You will never regret your experience here!

The only redeeming qualities of this bar are the service which was good the particular night I went, and the ambiance is ok. Otherwise the food is the worst I have probably ever had in the city. The bread tasted stale, the burrata was tasteless, the flatbread was dry and flavorless, the meatballs were very obviously frozen (spongey, watery) and honestly tasted terrible, even the sauce was awful. It was SO overpriced. I know restaurants are hurting right now but when I'm spending my hard earned money on unpleasant experiences like this it really makes me feel like I am being robbed.

Total upper east side village feels. Very classic wine bar/restaurant with lovely jazz music playing in the background. Great for friends and date night. I ordered the Pinot noir and my friends ordered the Chardonnay. They have a tv that plays sports for all the sports lovers.

Exceptional place to relax and have some wine on a cold night. Place has very pleasant atmosphere, a little dark and quiet. We went on a Sunday night to have some small dinner and some wine. It is extremely relaxing place with very nice waiters and pretty good menu options. Place is located very close to where I live so it was a good day to find a nice place close by. Food was delicious and wine selection was pretty good. I would definitely recommend this place to others and I will come here many more times in the future. We did not have to make a reservation but it was Sunday night, not sure how busy it is on other days.

Come here if you want to be able to chat in a quiet atmosphere with standard-priced happy hour drinks. Get the tomato basil mozzarella flatbread. We came to Serena's on a Tuesday afternoon. At 4PM, the restaurant was completely empty. But hey, nobody else was as crazy as we were to come drink wine at 4PM on a Tuesday afternoon. Their happy hour started at 4 and includes $6 wines by the glass, which is a standard happy hour price in the city. We chose to order a pitcher of red sangria instead. The sangria was very sweet, which is alright for me, because I enjoy sweet wine, but even I could recognize that this sangria is unusually sweet. The highlight of our visit was the tomato basil mozzarella flatbread, which was split into 4 slices and was very good. The hummus was pretty ordinary, and I was a bit bummed by the fact that they charge an additional $1 for extra pita bread for the hummus. The hummus to pita bread ratio was just too high! We had a pleasant time at Serena's. I wouldn't turn down a visit to Serena's if a friend suggested it, but I won't be one to suggest a visit, given their lack of extraordinary features.

I've gone to this place twice. The first time I chocked on a piece of wooden cooking spoon then the restaurant tried to make me pay for the dish. A friend convinced be to go back again. We both ordered salads, hers with chicken mine without. They switched our order and instead of making new salads scrapped the chicken off mine and put in hers. My salad was hot, cheese melted and pieces of chicken in it. When calling the restaurant they cannot answer simple question.

Just come here and enjoy the day! Definitely a one way busy street but you don't even notice it, Great menu, amazing sangria nice buzz for your money! gluten free flatbread delicious & some interesting appetizers. great portions and environment.

Great little wine bar and cafe off the beaten path in the 60s along 2nd Avenue. This place has a small bar and plenty of seating. They have a wide array of drinks, wine, a few beers and assorted cocktails. The staff is very friendly. They also server some tapas and small plates. During the warmer seasons they have a few tables outside along the side walk. It's a great date place or to meet friends to enjoy a glass of wine along a non trafficked area.

Where lovely bar with outdoor seating in French vibe! Only had espresso and wine from happy hour, Cabernet. Was impressed how good the HH wine was. Definitely come back and try some food!

Serena's Wine Bar Cafe has an amazing Charcuterie, this dish will blow you away with its unbelievable taste and flavor. Crew is super helpful and will certainly help you with anything. We passed this place on the way home, it wasn't packed so after a long day why not. Wine prices per glass are on par with the city and the neighborhood. Our waitress was very nice we ordered a spaghetti meatball and a spaghetti bolognese split amongst 4 people. The food was pretty good dishes are about $20 I thought that was a bit pricy considering what we ordered but overall I think it's a decent place. Very nice service. No bread for the table though which I though was a bit odd.

My friends and I wanted to try out a new wine spot near the house. We're a big fan of Kurant but wanted to spread the support, especially during this new age of the pandemic. Unfortunately the service was lacking. Upon our arrival they were quite strict about having us order food prior to ordering wine. While I understand that this is a rule all NYC restaurants must abide by, I felt like more of problem child than an adult ordering a glass of wine prior to our meal which had been the norm for so long. They offered no happy hour specials and I believe 2 app items on their menu were out of stock, definitely the Marcona Almonds, which we didn't know about until we tried to order. Ultimately, the food that we did order & receive tasted good. And the gal serving us eventually treated us like the adult women we are, by offering us another round of wine after our meals were done.

Came in with high hopes for a great Sunday dinner, all in all it was fine. Outside seating always perk in NYC. Service was mediocre to bad, took us 45 minutes to be waited on with no one in the restaurant. Overall pretty pricey for the experience, but food quality plus the atmosphere saved the rating

The food is descent. The place is too "transparent"and lacks coziness that one is looking in a wine bar. It is not the best place to bring your date here.

Amazing place! The menu is super fresh and there are so many great options. I shared the hummus, mozzarella flatbread, and cobb salad with a friend. I would recommend all three, although I think the salad was my favorite. I also had a glass of the red sangria which was delicious (and strong!)

Very cute, French themed wine bar on the upper east side. I enjoyed all of the food and forgot to take any photos because I came straight from a workout class and was STARVING! Needless to say, the food did not disappoint. They have a great selection of wines by the glass, which is always a plus in my book. I don't like when there are not enough wines to choose from by the glass. Anyway, I asked the waitress for her opinion on the Cabernets and she suggested an excellent one. They have lots of variety in their dishes. Options are good for sharing as well. Went with a friend and together we split the burrata appetizer, caesar salad, and prosciutto flat bread. It was a good amount of food for the two of us and it was all delicious. Will definitely be back.

Serena's has a great vibe with its marble interior, mood lighting and mirrored bar. My boyfriend and I went for dinner and drinks this week and were underwhelmed by the food (other than the tiramisu, which was delicious). The wine selection is relatively good but smaller than you'd expect for a wine bar. Prices per glass are pretty average for the city. I'd go back for a glass of wine but probably won't eat there again.

We have been here a few times. The staff is very pleasant and the food is exceptional. We sat outside and had drinks. Love the cheese plate! Love the ravioli! Garlic bread crunchy and delicious! Cappuccino and desert incredible. Tres Leche's and the tiramisu was so light and delicious! Highly recommend!
