This would have been a decent stay if several things were not wrong with the room upon check in...
Checking in was easy. They do charge an additional $150 deposit fee - which was not mentioned anywhere, but most hotels do this nowadays so I was not surprised. The girl behind the counter was on autopilot during the check in process, and while she did put on a pleasant face, it was lacking in enthusiasm and she did not ever actually engage with us, she just went through the motions.
The delux king room was an upgrade from what I originally booked. The upgrade for $30 more than the base price gave us a suite instead of a room. I was under the impression we were getting a room at a resort (as per the resort fee), but this place is, in fact, a renovated apartment.
The room concept was cute. And what excited us most was a HUGE tub located next to the bed. The unfortunate part is upon walking in, we noticed the tub was filthy... and had a strange pink stain on the rim. We did not even get a chance to browse the rest of the room because I had to go ask for them to clean the tub.
While waiting to speak with the woman at the desk, we were approached by another woman who did not identify herself, but had a walkie talkie so when she approached, we told her the issue with the tub. Her response was, "They don't work anyway. They got no water pressure. They're being taken out with the next renovation so none of them work anymore." She acted put off by the request for it to be cleaned regardless, but conceeded and sent another woman up to clean it. Before this woman walked away, she was speaking to someone on the walkie talkie and said that a guest was complaining because her expensive coat was missing from her room after it had been cleaned. Wow.... (BTW - at no point did anyone offer a discount, a gift or anything for the inconvenience of lack of a tub).
Anyway, we finally got back into the room only to find that the tub did not look much better. There was crown molding on mirrors that were attached to the wall behind the tub, of which were coming unhinged... the sink was filthy, and even the tissue dispenser was dirty. The shower was classy looking, but upon further inspection, was also filthy. We cleaned up ourselves because I was not going back down to the desk to discuss it further.
There are 2 TV's in the room, of which, we only had a remote for one. This was yet another issue I refused to go back to discuss because we did not plan to do much TV watching anyway. The unfortunate part for us was that the TV in the bedroom was stuck on TLC so My 600lb Life became the background noise for our nights.
Last complaint... the ice machine only exists on the far side of the complex. So a quick treck to the ice machine is non-existent if your room is close to the front of the hotel.
Overall, I cannot complain about anything else. The room was huge, bed was comfy, parking was a breeze, the place was quiet for the most part, and it was pretty close to the strip (right across from the Hard Rock). There appeared to be life in the lobby during the day. They do have a restaurant and "spa" options but I only know about those because of signs posted around, no other marketing strategies, and definitely no one offering services at all.
Probably will not return unless they are offering prices I cannot refuse...
