I Took a Bike Tour Through New York's Hudson Valley — Here's Where I Found 'Farm-to-glass' Whiskey and the Best Meals

"Serevan, a regional staple founded by chef Serge Madikians with entrées $32–$38, includes saffron-infused spaetzle, rack of lamb with herbed labne, and eggplant stew." - Travel + Leisure Editors

What an amazing dining experience! When food becomes more than a meal! Exquisite flavors from authentic herbs and spices plus top quality ingredients. Presentation was appealing as we eat with our eyes first, a true sensory journey to Iran, and Armenia. Chef owner Serge visited our table to greet us and chat about his signature dishes. This is a must go to spot in northeast Dutchess county!

Google
Exquisite experience. The food is a bit exotic but well worth the journey. The lamb was cooked just right with a side of rice with apricots. The appetizer was a sample of all the various tastes; it was rich and flavourful. A real treat and looking forward to the next visit.

Google
Always a wonderful experience. The food is exotic and well executed. The ambience is fantastic with the fireplace, a cozy bar and always friendly staff. The chef is usually around checking in to make sure everything is good as well. Highly recommended and well worth the drive.

Google
Cuisine from Armenia in Amenia! Painstakingly sourced ingredients to prepare masterful dishes of Armenian/Mediterranean palette. Very friendly chef and staff, and the setting feels pleasantly familiar, "like grandma's house," though with some eye-catching artwork hung on the walls.

Google
Bucolic setting, inventive cocktails and fresh seafood flown in by the chef. Different and succulent entrees

What a beautiful location. The food was creative, thoughtful, and delicious. And the service was kind and caring with Serge taking special care with every table. And the open kitchen? Calm, clean, and collected with happy people working it! We can’t wait to be regular guests.

Google
Beautiful setting with wonderful food. I had a perfectly cooked med rare duck breast served over lentils and veggies and berry sauce encircled it all. My boyfriend had big lump perfectly cooked scallops over a Brussels sprout wild rice slaw the only disappointment was there were only 3 scallops at $39. it should have been 5. We were served crispy dinner rolls with cured green olives in olive oil.

All I can say is WOW! The food here was superb! Serevan offers indoor and outdoor seating. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time since this restaurant fills up quick with locals, vacationers, and the upper echelon. Our group of 4 shared 3 appetizers, one of which was probably the best dish I've had in a long time. It was the yogurt soup. The spices were on point! Servings are a large size, enough to get you full. The chef made his way to every table to greet the guests, it was magical. Thank you Serevan for a fantastic evening out.

Yelp
My partner and I recently took a trip up from the city to visit Serevan, an absolutely exquisite restaurant in the Hudson River Valley. I had dined there many times before and to visit the owner and head chef, Serge Madikians. Each and every time, I was treated like family by the entire staff. As a vegan, Serge made sure to accommodate me with wonderful plant-based dishes; the kitchen is always ready to provide a vegan friendly meal and will accommodate all dietary requirements. Dishes are inventive and exotic, along with being plated like artwork. As for the ambiance, Serevan is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been to. Both my partner and I are in the art field, painter and art historian respectively, and we appreciate the high aesthetics that are found in both Serevan's decor and dishes. We cannot say enough great things about this gem, tucked away in the Hudson River Valley. A must go-to destination!

Yelp
We went out to dinner on Saturday night after Thanksgiving. It was a cold evening and there was a nice fire burning in the gas fireplace. We were seated away from the fireplace next to the window. It's usually nice to be sitting near a window. But when it's dark and on a cold evening, all we enjoyed was the cold air coming through the window. Oh well. Our server came promptly and described the specials for the night. We received very nice bread and my preference-olive oil as we made our selections. My wife chose the cucumber martini and I went with the IPA. Both were satisfying. In my experience, when ordering a drink, it is considered a 'course' and we're able to enjoy the drinks before receiving the appetizers. Not tonight. I took 2 sips from my beer and the appetizers were served. This would be the rhythm of our meal-we were rushed. The poached and roasted carrots were absolutely wonderful. The sauce was spicy, perfect for me, a bit too much for my wife. The soup was absolutely delicious. I love hot soup on a cold night and this hit the spot. Our entrees were the baked duck in basmati rice. My wife liked the rice a lot, she prefers duck on the bone rather than as 'pulled', but it was flavorful. The scallop dish was absolutely superb. The scallops were sweet, tender and cooked to perfection. Our desert was the Armenian Coffee cake. This dessert is not too sweet, the pastry is made with pistachio nuts and the blueberries were fresh and delicious. A great choice. The food was 5*. The ambience was 3* because we were so cold that we needed to wear our coats during dinner. The service was 3* because we truly felt rushed. The value was 4*, dinner was more than $100/person.

Yelp
While the appetizers were tasty, I didn't like the taste of the main dish--sent it back, the chef stood in front of the table and told me the dish was cooked perfectly and that I shouldn't have ordered the dish. He will probably comment that I'm a liar, but this really did happen. It made the whole table uncomfortable and put a sour note on the night. Ambiance isn't that great, considering the prices on the menu.

Yelp
It's a shame when a great restaurant strays from what made it so. Unfortunately, Serevan has not only strayed but fully ventured into hostile and dishonest territory fueled by their abhorrent business practices. We dined at Serevan in the past. We always had an excellent meal and recommended it to friends and family, but now I urge all to stay away. We recently had a reservation, and we had to cancel. Unfortunately, a small family emergency sidetracked our entire day. Things happen, you know? Serevan has a cancellation fee of $40 per person, an incredibly high one for a restaurant of this caliber (higher than every dish on their menu except one). So, for a dining party of 4, that is $160 out of your pocket for nothing. An extra cherry on top when you have a bad day out of your control. I called Serevan after seeing this charge and sought to rebook. We actually could have done a later time that evening, but no, they would rather you cancel. We were returning customers; could we have our reservation on another day? No. Serevan would rather take their petty $160 and run. They chose to burn their relationship with a loyal diner and someone who regularly recommends their restaurant. Imagine how they treat a first-time guest who could have an issue. So now, a great restaurant in the heart of the Hudson Valley has turned to profiteering off cancelation fees rather than retaining a core of hospitality and accommodation. It's a shame for a local gem to devolve into such abhorrent business practices, lashing out at a loyal customer and championing fees instead of food. For your own sake, I recommend avoiding it at all costs.

Yelp
To all patrons & employees, I must warn you Serge, the owner, called/texted me multiple times this morning, using aggressive, dangerous language over an error with a Resy reservation. We all make mistakes and project our upset on others however this was uncalled for and a better business warning will be filed. More details/edits to come.

Yelp
We have been coming here for 15 years...consistently excellent, consistently inventive and always a pleasure.

Yelp
We have been coming to Serevan for years. The food is remarkable, reflecting the chef's passion and love of cooking. The service is warm and welcoming. The ambience is homey and intimate. The menu is extraordinary, mixing middle eastern influence with vegetable-forward thinking, without losing the American touch. Serevan is a must-go experience if you are anywhere in the area!

Ben S.

Yelp
Have a 48 hour cancellation policy and charge $40 a head. 24 I've seen. Never 48 Got the flu, cancelled my reservation for 5 well more than 24 hours in advance, got hit with a $200 charge. Called the restaurant. Was told the owner would call me, never received a call back. Will be the first and last $200 I ever spend at this ripoff joint.

Yelp

Yelp
I have had the pleasure of eating at Serevan several times and it always feels like a pilgrimage as the food, lovingly prepared by chef Serge Madikian, is always memorable. whether you are having a soup or an appetizer or the main course, you are up for a delight of flavors. I never thought carrots could be so amazing or a simple yogurt soup could be so rich and unique with flavors, let alone the main courses that are infused with pomegranates and saffron and other Persian / Armenian and Mediterranean spices that transport you to these exotic, historic and ancient civilizations. the ambiance is quaint, charming and not pretentious and of course the chef is a passionate creative that his skills and knowledge and worldliness impress you not only with his flavors but also his character. go with friends and try everything on the menu if possible, and if Serge is free for a conversation, consider yourself lucky

Yelp
Seriously one of the BEST meals of my life! My only complaint is that the menu is so overwhelmingly tempting that I wanted to try so much more than I was able to eat! Vegan options for appetizers, entrees, and even desserts. ALL were fabulous! This "vegan" even cheated a little by trying the Armenian Yogurt and Barley Soup with Fresh Herbs, Currants and Curry Oil. Ingenious! I am salivating as I write this and remembering how amazing it was to relish in all of its tastes and textures. 'Twas an explosion of ecstasy in my mouth! Wow! While I live in California, I am already planning a return trip to Amenia, New York primarily to indulge in more of some of the BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER EATEN! And, I'll get to try more of what's on the menu.

Ilise F.

Yelp
Commenting on Hudson's review. We have enjoyed Serevan in the past but haven't returned due to the.ridiculous cancellation fees. I have been to several Michelin starred restaurants, both in NY and in Napa, who don't charge cancellation fees.. it's a way of gate keeping and alienates customers.

Yelp
Have been to this place twice & it has always been a mediocre experience. Upon my last visit, I ordered the warm squid salad & even though the squid was cooked to perfection, the dressing on the salad was way to salty. & I like salty things, but not this much. & why wouldn't you grill the squid to give it more flavor. For my main, I had the trout, once again, cooked beautifully but the puree/sauce it sat on was not that tasty & very salty. So disappointed. Now, there is no doubt that the chef is good at what he does, but this place has just always been, 'meh' to me. & at those prices, per plate, I would expect much more then what I got. Nonetheless, I encourage anyone who is thinking of going to dine there, to definitely do so & experience the place for yourself and come up with your own opinion. Per the reviews on here, you can see that the place is popular & worth a visit, though I doubt I'll ever go back.

Yelp
Food and service are good! Very charming old building with a lot of character and garden like atmosphere outside

Yelp
Armenia indeed, in Amenia. Converted farmhouse with serious mortise and tenon beams and original layouts. On the mantelpiece, black and white photos of the diaspora preside over feasts from the Near East. Papa with violin silently serenaded us from an oval frame. For my birthday we stayed close to fire, and received lavish attention from server and chef. Seryozha expresses himself with every dish, balancing flavors and delicately showering spices. He even created a special lamb tidbit appetizer, languidly poised on a bed of hummus, cubed vegetables and eggplant with pomegranate molasses (we fervently desire him to name this "The Poet's Lamb"). Olives wink in a pool of virgin press. Nestled in labne, honest lamb chops come with ribs that pirouette above shyly pink ovals. Basmati flecked with dill shows off her apricot polka dots, while black sour cherries signal our destiny. Truly, a memorable hand-crafted feast.

Yelp
Let me start by saying, I would give 10 stars if I could! Last night, Serevan and Serge hosted our grandmother's 90th Birthday. There were about 14 of us (ages 20 months to 90 years old) and every detail of the evening was perfect from the personalized menu to the amazing food and everything in between. Beginning when we walked in the door, we were able to have a whole room for our party with many open windows and all the staff wearing masks, which even though we've all been vaccinated made us feel very comfortable. Serge was a wonderful host, who came out to greet us and explain the delicious menu items in detail. He made a special effort to welcome my 90 year old grandmother and she appreciated the whole experience immensely. The servers were also top notch making sure everyone had everything they needed without ever having to ask while simultaneously not interrupting conversations, which I think is a real skill. They even brought little pieces of cut up fruit to my 1.5 year old nephew, which was great while everyone was ordering and getting drinks etc. Finally the piece de resistance the FOOD! Every single appetizer and entree was delicious. We are a Persian American family and loved Serge's combination of Persian and Armenian classics and flavors. I cannot go into detail on every dish or this review would turn into an epic but we ordered the entire menu and each dish was raved about. Our family is well traveled and from all over the country and this meal in our little corner of Dutchess county stood up to famous restaurants around the world. From our whole family - Serge and the Serevan team we thank you for an amazing evening that brought tears of joy to my grandmother's eyes. P.S. I especially loved the roasted carrots appetizer and the sea bass with black sour cherry rice (Albalu pollo), it was divine!

Yelp
This is the loveliest restaurant. We have been here a couple of times. You won't find this quality of food or level of dining in many places in the Hudson Valley. So far, we've not found it anywhere else. The sauces and seasonings are crafted beyond compare, and I've never felt that it is "too this" or "not enough" that. The food is not heavy, but exploding with fresh flavors. My husband has had fish dishes, and I've had the vegan dishes. Portions are generous enough, especially vegan portions. The appetizers are out of this world. I especially loved the falafel appetizer, which had so many sauces and condiments. The dining room is cozy with a fireplace, nice lighting (very important to us-we dislike overly bright, tiring lighting), and the chef's own beautiful photographs of the surroundings decorating the walls. Speaking of the chef- he will come out to greet you himself. He came out carrying a surprise complimentary tiny dessert on my birthday, singing happy birthday. The prices are only moderately high considering the quality of the experience. It's worth every penny! Oh, and because the experience is so personalized, the chef does a great job working with special diets!

Yelp
Yum! Delicious combinations of flavors! You can dress up or go neat casual beautiful seating outside and a bit fancier inside if you prefer. Owner/chef Serge makes time to come and greet the customers, when does that happen anymore? Good simple menu and wine selection. I'll be back.

Yelp
Unique and wonderful food. Nice atmosphere in a country setting. Intimate dining and nice martinis. Outdoor seating is nice in the summer.

Yelp
Thé setting is beautiful and the food is fabulous! I highly recommend!! The wait staff were wonderful and patient with our large group of 8.

Yelp
Outstanding, imaginative food and service in a lovely, relaxed setting. We ate outdoors, on a terrace, but the inside looks inviting, too. Chef/owner Serge is a charming and gracious host.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! I really enjoyed Serevan. I found it by accident while on a ski trip to the Berkshires and had a great time with my son.

Yelp
Got curbside here shortly after lockdown began and they were great. Had our order ready quickly, wore masks before many people were, and food was the best we've had around here. Chicken wings were awesome (even 45 min later) and I'm not remembering what other apps we got. One of the dishes wasn't super, but nothing was bad. Excited to go back once we can safely eat there and truly experience it.

Yelp
My friend and I were rich in anticipation to celebrate our one-year anniversary at Serevan. We both enjoy cooking and making elaborate meals for each other, but in our celebration, we decided to eat at a restaurant to fully enjoy each other's company and to focus on each other without having to labor. Serevan would be the first restaurant that we would attempt to dine at in upstate New York. Serevan turned out not just to be a huge disappointment, but the aggressive and volatile treatment that we experienced from the owner, Serge Madikians was appalling and nothing we have ever experienced in all of our years of dining. We arrived at 8:00 pm and were one of two tables in the restaurant. We ordered two appetizers, beets and roasted vegetables, neither of which delighted our palettes regardless of how we mixed and matched the flavors. Salt did not help to converge the flavors. Our lovely waiter Andrew asked if everything was okay, to which we responded honestly but warmly in our festive glow, "we really wanted to like it, but we didn't. You can take away these plates and bring out the main course as soon as it is ready. Thank you!" We were not looking to not pay for the appetizers; we just wanted our entrée so we can proceed with our lovely celebratory evening. Madikians storms out from the kitchen and screams at the top of his lungs, "how do you plan to enjoy the entrée if you did not like the appetizers? This is a place of business! We do not do business like this. You are offensive. What do you mean you tried to like it but just didn't?" Shocked by his aggression and unprofessional demeanor, we attempted to explain that we just did not like the appetizers but we hoped to enjoy the entrée. But nothing would assuage his rage. He proceeded, "These are our two most popular appetizers. You are offensive! This is my work!" We apologized for offending him and asked if he could lower his voice so we can address each other as humans. He was consumed by his rage and raised his voice even higher and continued to say that we were in his space and that we were late for our reservations. (We called to say we were running behind.) We shared that we came into his restaurant in a jubilant celebratory mood, eager to enjoy the ambiance, service and food from his restaurant. My friend went to tell Andrew that we would take our entrée to go as the restaurant was not a safe place to eat and that we would take the check. Madikians brought the packed food out and continued to scream at us, repeating all the things he said over and over again and to not "forget to tip Andrew. It's how he makes his living." We assured him that the food not being enjoyable to us was not Andrew's fault, that Andrew was perfectly lovely and that we fully intended on tipping Andrew after we paid our bill. The irony was that Madikians would not give us our bill and required several promptings for him to produce and give us our bill. As we paid the bill, he continued to shout, "trust me, as a gay man, this hurts me more than it hurts you." To which we responded, "let's not rank feelings. This is an unfortunate situation for everyone involved. This is an awkward and unnecessary experience." Maybe Madikians was having a terrible night. The lack of patronage at Serevan that evening must be anxiety inducing for any restaurateur. But that does not excuse his conduct and lack of respect for the patrons who with goodwill were very much looking forward to enjoying the experience at his restaurant and who hoped to be loyal consistent patrons.

Yelp
Very good Iranian Mediterranean cuisine if I'm ever in this area I will definitely be back...

Yelp
We recently had an extremely pleasant dining experience at Serevan. The martinis were brilliant. The oysters fresh, crisp, and reminiscent of the North Atlantic. The duck and steak were both expertly prepared and served. Desert, espresso, and whiskey happily consumed. Please do not change. We have had so many disappointing dinners recently. We are grateful to the staff and owner at Serevan.

Yelp
Please note this review is based on one visit. The menu is out there and it goes for the home run. Loved the Cherry and sugar peas salad ...awesome. Flavor all over the place. I have had chicken and couscous a million times. However the added orange slices pick up the whole plate and give it that punch! Only draw back would be the seating///not comfortable at all...but I was in the front room. Certainly a place to try and return to over and over again!.

Yelp
Cuisine from Armenia in Amenia! Exotic dishes created from mostly locally sourced foodstuffs. Imperial stout available (on tap, if I remember correctly) and an extensive list of wines from the region. Lovely rustic, homely location. Pricey but well worth it!

Yelp
So this is an update of my review on 6/20. Sadly, Serge (the owner) has decided that the best way to respond to my review is to say in public (as a reply to my review) and in private (in private messages to me) that everything that I said is untrue. Essentially, calling me a liar. How very, very sad. I suppose that Serge will also have to say that the review written by Steven S., who was apparently there the same night we were and who had a similarly less-than-expected experience, must also not be true. Even though our experiences were absolutely consistent in having received poor service. The wise restaurant owner would understand that they are in a service business and that is is quite important to listen to the concerns of their clients, understand that caused their concerns, and strive to make changes to minimize any future occurrences. The arrogant restaurant owner feels justified in criticizing the customer, challenges every complaint and concern that is brought to their attention, refuses to accept any responsibility, and implies that the customer a liar when they have a less than perfect experience. I would have hoped Serge would have been the former type of owner, but he apparently identifies more with the latter. Serge, I wish you the best of luck. I hope that your VIP clients will be sufficient to sustain your restaurant in the future.

Yelp
Serevan is a jewel of a restaurant in Amenia, NY. While visiting some friends in Kent, CT for the weekend, we crossed the state border and landed in a gold mine. Despite being Mother's Day and fully booked, the restaurant didn't miss a beat in its service and food quality. I chose the tuna tartar, hand chopped and served on mandolined Persian cucumbers. The patty was subtly seasoned with toasted sesame seed oil, and heaped by finely sliced and lightly dressed fennel bulb. My lady companion had beautifully plump Prince Edward mussels served in coconut milk. Our host chose a lamb stew redolent with Persian limes and served with nutty Basmati rice. The owner chef Serge Madikians mingled among the guests, making small but pleasant conversation. For a moment, I dreamt I was in the city of Erevan in the country of Armenia.

Yelp
Great time had Serevan. Stopped in for a quick drink. Staff was very friendly and the new bartender very sweet. Can't wait to go back for some hummus and fresh seafood.

Yelp
Awesome...best dining experience in a while. I would rank among the top 10 NYC restaurants, blue hill, db, etc. With middle eastern and french fused techniques the dishes are creative and well balanced. Well worth the ride from either side of the Hudson, Woodstock to Litchfield.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Serevan with another couple from Wappinger Falls. This was the first time for all of us. We ordered appetizers, 2 Lamb Kibbeh, P.E.I. Mussels and the Roasted Eggplant Salad. All were outstanding. The entrees were also outstanding; Hangar Steak, Piggaso Farm Chicken and Rack of Lamb. The server did not explain that it was a rack of lamb. The lamb came out medium rare and our friend asked that it be cooked a bit more. The server was not as understanding as she could have been. The service was underwhelming and she even forgot to bring my wife and I the second cocktail we ordered. She never even remembered that we ordered it. She even charged us $8 to substitute cous cous for the mashed potatoes that came with the steak. The food and the ambiance were outstanding. We even met Serge and had a nice conversation about his family photos hung on the wall near our table. It would have been an overall outstanding experience had the service matched the quality of the food, ambiance and the chef.

Yelp
Dined here last night with several friends. Marvelous!! Had the duck breast, cooked to perfection. The chef stopped by to see if we were enjoying our meal; he was delighted I had chosen the Armenian cheesecake with pistachios and rose petals for dessert. Will definitely return soon; such a cozy environment on a chilly evening.

Yelp
Yum! Inventive, delicious and fresh. Worth the drive from wherever you are. Cocktails are unique and thoughtful. We chose salads for appetizers and weren't disappointed by the creative combinations. Three fish dishes for mains - one was better than the next. Mediterranean doesn't cover the breadth of this menu. By far, one of the best restaurants in the area, including NW CT.
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful place! I had goat cheese spaetzle and my wife had duck, both in forms not described on their Web menu. We exchanged bites and found everything very much to our liking. Service was also excellent, and the chef/owner was friendly. I really can't understand the unfavorable reviews that are on the Yelp site. As far as we were concerned, there was no reasonable room for objection to anything.

Yelp
Farm to table at its best. Excellent in every way. Been here several times & rave about each dish.

Sam K.

Yelp
This restaurant is incredible. We went here twice over the weekend while staying at a nearby hotel and both times it was superb (the first night we ate there, we loved it so much that we booked reservations to return two nights later). The food is absolutely delicious, each dish better than the last. We loved every single thing we had - flat bread, shrimp, carrots, falafel plate, lamb, duck and the sticky chocolate toffee cake. The staff is very friendly, including the chef, who loves to greet his customers on the restaurant's charming front patio. Very highly recommend and cannot wait to be back.

Sahar R.

Yelp
There really aren't any words to describe this place. From the cozy atmosphere to the beyond delicious edible art work delivered to your table to Serge himself, I can't rave enough about Serevan! Back in May, my parents hosted our engagement dinner (small dinner for 22 people who all had an amazing evening!), and we honestly could not have had a better experience. I'm Persian, my fiance Armenian, so Serevan was the perfect gem nestled away in a beautiful town, for the joining of our families. All the servers were beyond attentive and accommodating - our eldest guests were in their 90s! Serge curated a customized menu for our evening that pleased everyone - mixing both cultures, cuisines, and tastes. It was perfect. You must go. If not for the gorgeous location or the mouthwatering food, definitely for the chef, Serge and his amazing staff who will make you feel at home.

Yelp
Great place to escape from the concrete jungle to have a relaxing, quality meal in the country. Meal starts with your choice of bread, which are deliciously warm, fresh baked rolls and luckily they come around often with the bread. Do yourself a favor and skip the salads. Both the beet and other salad we had were nothing at all special. I was starting to lose hope.. But then the entrees came. Bf said it was one of the best duck dishes he had ever had. The barley side dish served with it was delicious. My dish was phenomenal. Trout- which I don't usually like- was perfectly prepared and didn't taste fishy at all. The side dish served with it -- amazing-- vegetable with a cumin flavored hummus. This was THE best hummus I've ever had in my life. Entrees were so good, we decided to try dessert. Made the wrong choice here -- panna cotta -- way too watery from the fruit juices and bland flavor. But a solid 4 - even 5 stars for those 2 entrees!

Yelp
We had a wonderful meal with another couple in late July. Although the restaurant was busy, the service was friendly and we never felt ignored or rushed. One in our party who avoids pork asked a number of questions about dishes before ordering. When his salad arrived with bacon in it, the server realized the problem before anything was said and handled it immediately and graciously. We were able to watch the kitchen at work from our vantage point, and chatted with the chef/owner about the provenance of the sour cherries on the seasonal menu - cherries he had picked locally the week before and frozen to serve through the fall. All of our dishes were wonderful, especially the halibut, scallops, and lamb. The variety and use of local, seasonal products was great, all used in creative ways with Mediterranean flair. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Yelp
When we moved to Pine Plains, we never imagined this place would be right here. Lamb with labneh and stewed eggplant was divine.

Yelp
This is a great restaurant with terrific food and a most welcoming host. Serge, the chef, is one of the most professional people I've ever met in a restaurant, and I mean that in the most all encompassing way. The other night he and his brother actually made phone calls to neighboring restaurants to get a group they couldn't seat, dinner somewhere else. Serge is always offering up recipes or tips on cooking. And the food is great! If there is ever a stew on the special meu, go for it! Although you might not think to order ribs there, they happen to be fantastic. There's still a lot on the menu that I haven't tried, but that's just more to look forward to. My only (very small) gripe? The desserts are limited, with the sticky chocolate cake being the best, but usually I'm way too stuffed to eat them.

Yelp
Truly fabulous, soup to nuts! Decor, food, service top notch. An interesting, varied menu made it difficult to decide what to get, ended up with the strip steak with sumac and was glad I did- tender and flavorful! Not inexpensive, but worth every bite.

Yelp
If you are anywhere near Litchfield County do not miss Serevan. The food is incredible, the service warm and super friendly, and Serge, the owner and chef is a delightful human being who greets his guests with such warmth you feel like you were dining in his own home (which, I suppose, in a sense, you are!). The dishes change frequently and the only constant is the delicious combinations of flavours the chef and team manage to creatively pair. One of the best meals in recent memory. Run, don't walk to Serevan.

Yelp
Outstanding service, outstanding drinks, outstanding food. Very gracious and generous chef. One of the highlights of the evening was a perfectly seared scallop on a bed of peas, fresh ramps and fiddleheads with mint. This was only one of the many highlights of the evening filled with creative, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented dishes. My husband and I have eaten at many fine dining restaurants throughout the world and Serevan ranks among the best. A treasure not to be missed.

Yelp
A wonderful place with a wonderful chef owner. Very flavorful food, this is not your typical place and we are lucky to have it here near Millerton. And always a great time -- we really enjoyed the beef especially, the desserts are also delectable which is rare at a place that has great savory dishes. Will come back again and again.

Yelp
Have you ever eaten something and knew you would never taste anything that delicious again? Well last night was that case for me. The food was beyond phenomenal. Every course seemed to out do the prior and every time I thought that would be impossible. I For the appetizer I had the endive stuff with blue cheese and blackened on top, the scallops for dinner and the cheesecake for dessert. I am on an average a very fast eater but last night I savored every bite. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great date night dinner. But a tip, make a reservation.
