Westman’s Bagel and Coffee is Coming to Seattle’s U District | Eater Seattle

"I note that the newest opening at Kirkland's The Village at Totem Lake mall is the third location of Tom Douglas' popular pizza spot Serious Pie, which is known for excellent crusts and a to-die-for clam pie." - Jade Yamazaki Stewart

Serious Pie at Totem Lake (Kirkland) is an artisanal pizzeria by Tom Douglas, featuring wood-fired, thin-crust pizzas and a creative range of starters, salads, and sweets. During my recent lunch visit, the initial service was slow, it took about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged our arrival. While the staff became attentive once we were seated, the hygiene standards could use improvement. I noticed some crew members preparing pizzas without wearing gloves, and one of the plates we received had gum stuck to it, which I’m sure was unintentional. Our Fresh Mozzarella Pizza and Mushroom Pizza were delicious, with a perfectly cooked crust. The wood-fired oven adds a rustic depth to the flavor, and the toppings are thoughtfully balanced. The cheese pizza was Ok, though it leaned a bit salty for our taste. The Roman Artichoke and Kale salads were another highlight, fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor, making them more than just a side dish. Other local favorites include Yukon Gold Potato, Fennel Sausage pizzas, and the Biscuit Brunch.

Google
Loved the kale salad as an appetizer The portion is pretty large… could feed 3 people And the mushroom truffle pizza was absolutely delicious! Just the right amount of truffle oil The sausage pizza was great as well but a tiny bit salty for our tastes The pizza at this place is thin crust so if you like thick heavy crust this place would not be the place for you The pricing for the items are extremely reasonable as well For two people we got one pizza, a salad, and a small tomato soup which was the perfect amount The tomato soup was good but not to die for Would not get unless you really enjoy tomato soup

Good place for artisan pizzas. The daily special pizza had too many flavors going on but all the pizzas had nice crispy bottoms and ingredients. I would just choose which pizza to order carefully.

One of my fave pizza(?) places! The menu is limited but all of the pies are so unique and delicious. My friend and I shared the potato rosemary one and we both loved it! Very very cheesy. We had this more as a snack, so if you come here for dinner I suggest 2 pizzas to share between 2 people, or at least geg a starter! We completely missed the drink menu somehow and I only realized as we were leaving so I’m totally mourning that. Went around 4:40pm on a Sunday and there was tons of space, got to pick our table out. Outdoor seating is limited but it wasn’t full when we were there. The staff were super friendly and didn’t rush us at all.

I recently visited Serious Pie at Totem Lake and it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, with a cozy exterior and friendly staff. The menu offered a wide variety of pizzas, catering to both traditional and adventurous tastes. I opted for the classic mozzarella and the fennel sausage pizzas. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a deliciously chewy texture. The service was prompt, and the staff was attentive. They made sure our drinks were refilled and checked in to ensure we were enjoying our meal.

Awesome Servers and Tuesdays special of 5 pizzas and a bottle of wine. Got the tomatoes soup to dip the crust in and it's amazing. Patrick is our favorite server. But we like everyone who works there. Been there every Tuesday in the past 5 weeks except one.

Luckily!! There is a big parking garage nearby, or you can sometimes find street parking. Makes it easier to plan a visit here to Serious Pie. This time, we tried several pizzas and loved each one, with the nectarine special being the fave. The crust is light, crisp, almost pastry-like. Very flavorful yet somehow delicate and yet sturdy enough to handle real toppings. Wait staff are genuine people with personalities that can be interesting to experience, generally in a really good way. It's refreshing not to have perfunctory service for a change. We are thrilled with the easy location, good menu variety, fun drinks, and iced tea. Did I mention their restrooms are clean? They are! This is a good date spot or family and friends spot too. Yay!!

Google
Dropped by this place after hearing that they have some of the best pizza in the Seattle area. They did not disappoint! The hero is the crust - light, chewy, delicious. It’s very vegetarian friendly. They swap out the meat with any veg topping of your choice for free. Loved the seasonal pear and caramelized onion pizza. And their margarita pizza with buffalo mozzarella is perfect. A shout out to Janette - thanks for so graciously and cheerfully waiting on us!

Yelp
Prosciutto pea vine pizza excellent. Massaged lemony kale salad with lots of grated Parmesan cheese - I will continue to order time and again. The kale is massaged which means it isn't hard to chew and has a nice texture to it. I've been to many other places and the kale is simply pulled out of a bag and expected to be eaten as is. Horrible. The clam pizza is hit and miss. First time was super (overly) crispy and no shells and second time with shells and had to be careful not to crack my teeth. I will not order again. Service is good and if you go early there is always a table but don't expect to make reservations for large parties 13 for Father's Day or graduation because they won't take them.

Yelp
I went late at night, and even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, the service was noticeably slow. It took a while to place our order and even longer for the food to arrive, which was a little surprising given the pace of the evening. That said, the pizzas themselves were excellent. I ordered two: the roasted oyster mushroom with crimini with truffle cheese, and the classic cheese pizza with tomato sauce and provolone, topped with Coro pepperoni. Both were flavorful and well-balanced. The mushroom pizza had a rich, earthy depth from the truffle cheese that paired perfectly with the roasted mushrooms, while the cheese and pepperoni pizza hit all the right comforting notes--savory, slightly tangy, and with just enough spice from the pepperoni. Portion-wise, two pizzas were definitely more than enough for two people, with leftovers to take home. While I wish the service had been more attentive, the quality and taste of the food made the visit worthwhile.

Yelp
This is a 3.5 Stars review. Serious Pie is fairly famous locally, especially those who are Tom Douglas fans. This Kirkland location, part of the Village in Totem Lake with ample parking, is typically quite full during weekends. We randomly walked in during a weekend and got the last table in the back corner, which turned out to be a great hidey-hole to people-watch. The inside of the restaurant is modern basic. Our service was swift. I suspect they depend on high turnovers cuz the pizza came out quite fast, too. There is a Cinemark next door, so there is an eat-and-go phenomenon, too. The Food: Tom's Tasty Tomato Soup, $13 - 4 Stars We happened to have read the reviews and learnt this soup is a must. Dang, the reviews are right! It is really good. It's spendy for a bowl of tomato soup - the primary reason I didn't give it a 5 Stars. Sweet Fennel Sausage Pizza, $25 - 4 Stars Mushrooms Pizza, $24 - 3 Stars This football shaped pizza is a hearty meal for someone with a healthy appetite or two meals for someone with smaller appetite. First off, both pizzas are tasty with good seasoning and flavors. The crust is tasty for the portions that are cooked properly. The sausage pizza is a quintessential Americana type of pizza. It was evenly prepped, and the cooking was evenly toasty throughout. The mushroom pizza is a "suburban" white sauce pizza. This one is lopsided - higher on one side, flatter on the other side. The sauce and cheese run over the flat side and spill over. (See photo) I can visually this pizza being rushed through the kitchen and shoved into oven without care. The pizza shows this sloppy execution. Far too much crust is left uncovered on one end as a result. This pizza costs plenty and opt not be handled sloppily. Minus 1 star.

Yelp
Was told it would be ready in 15. Came back in 20 and it was ice cold. Dont really mind cold pizza but it made the gobs of mozz hard and chewy. Basil flavor was great, i can tell it would have been very good if it was hot or even warm. It was a cold rainy afternoon but still... Staff was very nice and welcoming/helpful. I would have asked them to heat it but I was at my car before I noticed. Should mention i did eat most of it fairly quickly.

Yelp
Stopped in for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised by the prompt service. I had come in about 15 min before the end of HH and my pizza and beer were delivered to my table within 5 minutes. The happy hour portion is about a third of their regular pizza - which is reflected in their HH price. If I had come in with another, I would have suggested their Tuesday dine in special, which I think is a better deal. Overall the pizza had good flavor and the crust had a good texture and chew. The most surprising part was the pizza spice offered at each table that includes margoram, fennel, garlic and red pepper flakes. It was a nice topping to add to already flavorful pizza.

Yelp
Seriously good! Had the yummiest pear and caramelized onion pizza and a hearty chopped salad chock full of asparagus, red radishes, pistachios and hot honey. The pizza crust was light, chewy, and perfectly cooked. The onions rendered an earthy sweet flavor and together with the pear, cheese, and the hot honey, it made for one fab combo. Generously sprinkled the Serious pie pizza spice mix. It maximized the deliciousness of the food. Very addictive it is. The spice mix jars are sold as well for $10. We got a jar as wanted them for our home-made pizzas. Had the best service. The waitress was super friendly and attentive.

Yelp
6 years ago, Serious Pie was recommended when I came to Seattle. I went to the downtown location and loved it. I have wanted to go back. I was happy to go to the Totem Lake location on this trip. The Mushroom Pizza was even better than what I remembered my 6 years ago pizza was. The Brussels Sprouts were pretty amazing. The Lemonade was delicious, but I really wanted to try one of their cocktails, especially the Wicked Cocktails. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The bathrooms are gender neutral, individual rooms, clean and spacious. Service was great and I love the location as much as the Downtown Seattle location.

Yelp
As a die-hard pizza lover, I had such high hopes for this place, especially since it's so close to home and has a big reputation. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. Let's start with the pizza -- my all-time favorite food -- and this was genuinely worse than frozen pizza. The crust was okay, the sauce was decent, but there was barely any cheese or pepperoni on it. Completely tasteless. I don't even know how a pizza place with this much hype can get pizza so wrong. The chopped salad was fine, maybe a 6/10, but way spicier than expected with no warning on the menu. Service was friendly, but honestly, our waiter clearly had no restaurant experience. I asked for ice for the table water and it never came. Just little things that add up, you know? To top it off, this $65 lunch (no drinks, mind you) was horrific. I left feeling disappointed and honestly a little mad. SMH. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but pizza this bad deserves a warning label. Save your money and grab a frozen pizza from the grocery store -- sadly, it'll be better.

Yelp
I'm glad T-Doug has made a home on the eastside/best side as I can enjoy his seriously good pizza on this side of the lake. I'm a fan of Serious Pie, so to have this location in Kirkland just makes it easier for me to get to. I visited Serious Pie in Totem Lake while in the area and was able to take advantage of happy hour! On weekdays from 3-5pm, they have half size pizzas for eight bucks, which is why you come to Serious Pie. I ordered the sweet fennel sausage and peppers pizza on happy hour with the brussels sprouts. And for dessert, I had the coconut cream pie because no one should ever, ever, ever leave a T-Doug establishment without having the famous coconut cream pie. The food didn't take long to get. The pizza was delicious with the fennel sausage and loved the peppers for that extra kick. Crust was freshly made and the half size was great for one person. The brussels sprouts were crunchy and delicious, and would recommend for anyone who loves brussels sprouts. The coconut cream pie is the true winner though. This is the best coconut cream pie I've ever had! The thick coconut custard with the shreds of coconut and white chocolate is perfection. This is easily one of my favorite desserts! I love this pie. Overall, Serious Pie in Totem Lake is such a great addition to the growing area. The restaurant is located in the Totem Lake Village with street parking and a private parking lot and garage nearby. The space is large enough for groups and the bar is where you can see the pizza being baked in the oven. Staff was super friendly, too. I'm glad I can get my serious pie and coconut cream pie closer to home.

Yelp
their pasta pizza was actually kinda good and super weird at the same time. it's only available on select days so you gotta time it but worth a try. also saw this flyer for tuesday pizza and wine night which looked fun

Yelp
Good food, but oh man the price. Come here if you are looking for unique toppings and appetizers, no meatballs or garlic knots in the place. I'd prefer a good quality pizza to this fancy topping trend OR a larger size to balance the price (or a filling on 'unique' and cheaper side). We went elsewhere to get fries when finished here as it was just not worth the price to us. Staff was pleasant but really didn't seem interested in working that Sunday late lunch.

Yelp
Didn't eat here because we got the vibe that the host did not really care to seat us. We go there for lunch time on Saturday so understandably it was busy. We did not mind waiting. But the host basically told us "it's going to be a while so don't bother". I don't know if it's because he saw that we had an infant and a toddler with us and he didn't want to deal with kids. But that did not sit well with us. We will not be visiting this place again.

Yelp
Located in a very busy, upscale shopping area we found parking where ever we could and walked back to the restaurant. There is both on street parking and large parking lots all around. The restaurant is located street side with a small outdoor dining area which was shady during our visit. We dined indoors. At the lunch hour the restaurant was full. A hostess seated us and was also our waitress. Service was attentive. We had been to the Serious Pie in Ballard during our last visit to the area and wanted another slice of this pie. These pizzas have a crispy, slightly sweet crust. They offer a variety of styles and each pie is large enough for a very hungry adult, or to share. We each got our own with the idea of taking home left overs. The basic pie is a Margherita style pizza with quality ingredients. I like that the basil is cut so you get more of that basil flavor throughout the pizza. The sauce on the basic pie is light and the cheese firm and tasty. The mushroom pizza is a very tasty pie with strong mushroom flavors on a mild while sauce. These are two very different tasting pizzas and I enjoyed them both. I also enjoyed the left overs. They were just as tasty cold from the fridge as they were hot from the oven. This restaurant offers desserts, after dinner Amari, mocktails, espresso drinks and tea as well as pizzas. The dining room has high ceilings, lots of windows to let in the light and is clean. The kitchen is open to the dining room. Two gender neutral restrooms are available, one of them has a diaper station.

Yelp
Spur of the moment dinner. Took my family to Sandbox for birthday gathering. And out of all the close by spots, the birthday guy decided this place afterwards. Definitely not a disappointment. The seasonal pear pizza was sooooo good! I am still craving for more the next day! Staff were very attentive. Checked in quite often. They should open one in Renton Landing!

Yelp
Came on a Friday night at 7pm and was seated immediately. Totem lake is almost like an outlet of sorts so there's ample parking and lots of shops to explore around. Pizza igredients were fresh and the pizza crust was crunchy and chewy! Sweet Fennel Sausage: I liked how the bell peppers were roasted before going in the pizza oven. It make the pizza very juicy and flavorful. Seasonal - Nduja Cream: This was their seasonal item, I hadn't tried Nduja before so I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. The flavor profile wasn't too out there, but it had more depth than marinara. The heirloom tomatos and gave it a fresher flavor. All in all, this was definitely the winner of the 2 pizzas!

Yelp
We went there before the movie and waited 45 minutes. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming. The server was friendly and attentive. We ordered kale, mixed green salad, seasonal roasted mushroom pizza, Yukon gold potato pizza and fennel sausage pizza. Everything was delicious and we had to take leftovers home. Good experience but I wished the wait time was a little shorter.

Cathy B.

Yelp
This used to be our go to for pizza. Today we Ordered our usual 2 well done pizzas with the chili sauce and iced teas. Our pizzas came before the tea. They were not well done. Finally the two ice teas came. When we asked for the chili sauce they brought a cup of oil??? We mentioned the pizza wasn't well done when asked how things were. They offered to put it back in but we were already eating that time. Finally 3 different people came to tell us why they believed the pizza was well done and it was our fault we should have told them really well done and they misunderstood about the chili sauce. So it was all our fault. We go there every week or two and order the same thing. WTF?
google avatar

Yelp
I loved Serious pie. If you want too many toppings this is not your place. Wood fired pizza. Subtle flavors and an engaging ambience. That's the vibe. I asked for something not so usual - hot water and a lemon. It came in the fancy kettle and the waiting staff was very nice about it. All in all, it was a good date night for us here.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a good experience here. We found easily parking. It wasn't that busy. We sat on their patio, and had service very fast. Their flat pizzas are good. We had a couple of them. Kids pizza is same size BTW. But kids managed to finish it by himself :) We also had a very fresh salad. I asked for the spicy vinaigrette on the side. It was a good call! Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to share it with kids. Drinks are good. I guess all prices are going up so I won't mention it. Staff was very friendly, and patient.
google avatar

Nora M.

Yelp
The tomato soup is too bland and chunky. The pizza has a very good cheese pull and tastes great. The waiter I had was nice and the restaurant was festive I just wish they improve the tomato soup and added names to the pizzas instead of just ingredients.
google avatar

Lindsey B.

Yelp
This was my second time here and it wasn't a bad experience, but I just don't love the lack of options on the menu and the two things we ordered were lacking something. It's a cute, casual spot in totem lake though! Our server was great, and very friendly. But for the price and the mediocre food I don't think we'll be going back.
google avatar

Jaime U.

Yelp
Really enjoyed Serious Pie at Totem Lake! The food was great, and the Yukon golden potato pizza stole the show. The salad with hot honey vinaigrette was hotter than I expected, but I don't handle spice well to begin with. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
Serious Pie period. That's the name of the restaurant. And that's what you get. Tom Douglas does it again. We scarfed down the broccoli before taking a photo. Get the broccoli. Holy moly. We got the fennel pizza which was perfectly cooked. The hubs said, "this might be the best pizza I've ever had." The end period.

Karen B.

Yelp
Fun, fairly quick dinner. We went at a time that would beat the rush on Friday early evening. Glad we did. We were seated immediately. Menus are on the table. Drink orders were taken and served pretty quick. Delicious cocktails! I had the key-lime cosmo. Husband had a Negroni, served "up." We ordered two pizzas which was plenty. We just wanted to try two. Next time, we'll order a pizza and a salad. The salads looked really good. Our pizzas came out pretty quick. The blueberry pizza was unique and wonderful. The sweet Italian sausage was also very good, albeit more traditional. The restaurant had filled up by the time we were eating. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Vibe is casual and wasn't too noisy. We did sit inside.

Yelp
Beautiful location.. terrible pizzas. SO expensive too at $25 for a plain pepperoni pizza. Barely had any cheese and definitely not big enough for the price we paid. I added a star for good customer service. Other than that, save your money and go elsewhere with better tasting pizzas.
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza dough is more airy, add more of items, but by a true healthy natural ! About chef of area a first owner known to some popular first places. Try when at H.hour, for all pizzas are smaller, and on some styles. As pizzas items spread, for to use seasonings & cheeses, for plus extras ask toppings! Salads always very delicate!

Yelp
First time at Serious Pie... have been to the other T. Douglas restaurants just never made it here, until yesterday for lunch. It was pretty quiet when we arrived and my husband and I were seated quickly. I am pretty sure we met each server and they were all nice. The menu is really short for what I was expecting from of "pizza joint'... maybe that's why it's called SERIOUS pie. My husband got the tomato soup and I got the beans and kale starter. I loved the beans! Spicy and well seasoned. I made myself stop eating them so I could have them for dinner later. My husband said the soup was ok. We ordered the fennel sausage pizza and we each had a slice and decided we would bring it home for later. The peach lemonade was AMAZING!! ...and of course we got coconut pie to top it all off. On our way out we were given a few tips: come by on Tuesday nights they have a special that includes a bottle of wine and the movie theater has $6 tickets all day. And Happy hour you can get smaller sample sized pizzas for a great price. All in All I loved the Beans and lemonade!!!

Yelp
Love Serious Pie at Totem Lake. I've been 3 times and just love their salads. They are creative, fresh and vibrant, paired perfectly with a tangy yogurt sauce. The pizzas are great too. The service was attentive, friendly, and welcoming, making the experience even better. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Service was slow and a little strange. Food was fine, a bit overpriced. I've been to the Seattle locations a few times and enjoyed, not sure I will revisit this one

Casey K.

Yelp
Things I liked: * The flavor of the pear pizza w/ prosciutto and hot honey. It was unique and a unique combo I haven't tried before but it worked. * Fennel sausage pizza: always love fennel sausage and it wasn't too overpowering on the pizza * Customer service Things I didn't like: * Pear pizza's hot honey wasn't spicy at all. There was an added sweetness because of the pear and honey but some spice in the honey combined with the prosciutto would've helped balance out the sweetness of the pizza * Crust to pizza ratio: crust tastes good but crust to pizza ratio is a little sad :( * Mushroom pizza was just okay * Mixed greens salad is pretty much big leaves of lettuce, didn't like that I had to cut it
google avatar

Yelp
This is from a review from the first few months when the restaurant had opened. Was absolutely let down when I came here to eat for the first time. My wife was a regular when she lived in Seattle. She had me so excited to try this the famous SERIOUS PIE. And it was SERIOUSLY SAD. No flavor, no care, the service wasn't that great. All in all a disappointing experience. I guess I'll just keep going to MOD ‍
google avatar

Yelp
Nothing exceptional to write about. I was expecting an incredible mushroom truffle pizza pie. It tasted nothing like what I remember pre-covid days at the serious pie in Seattle. the layer of cheese seemed rather thin. not alot of mushrooms. and I couldn't sense any truffles. the staff is not super friendly at first, but they can be if you put in the effort.

Mirabelle P.

Yelp
Sounded like a good idea, until I sat down. Our table was way too small for three people, especially since the pizzas are served on trays. No children's menu, the cheese pizza they recommended was extremely salty for my child (and me!). We couldn't eat it and didn't care to bring the leftovers home. Their side of "ranch" is $3 each and no one wanted it after the first taste. The veggie pizzas we ordered were ok, everything was too salty. I expected better. Note to restaurant, please don't ask customers if they want a to go box while they are still eating. Rude!

M M.

Yelp
Have to try their breakfast sandwiches on the weekend! Ordered two today for the first time. I had the ham (little salty) and egg and spinach/tomato with egg and smoked mozzarella on a biscuit. So good. Egg is cooked all the way through to perfection. Onions and spinach were done just right too. Homemade biscuits are on my breakfast menu for next weekend and probably the weekend after that for sure! Out of this world! So yummy!! Never thought I would find a great breakfast food at a pizza place. Was super quick with my "to go"order too! Think they stop serving the breakfast sandwiches at 3pm so be sure to get there early!

The Ambiance is too good ..!! We have ordered potato pizza which too yumm and the Serice is too good and overall it's amazing

Yelp
I wanted to celebrate Pi Day and there was a promotion here so I wanted to give this place a try :). It has been quite a long time since I been to a serious pie but I don't remember it being that good but this experience Definitely changed my mind. The promotion was that any of their half pizza was only $3.14 during happy hour from 3-5pm. We knew it was going to be busy, so we tried to get there as early as possible. We ended up getting there at around 3:20 and had to wait for about 45 minutes - yes it was that busy. When we got seated, people that was just coming had to wait for about 1.5 hours so they definitely missed the promotion. Food wise: Seasonal Guancele+ spinach --- didn't like the flavor combo of this one, just a little odd for me Fennel sausage --very nostalgic and flavorful Clam and pancetta -- unique but also very good Yukon gold potatoes ---flavor is a little bland but the texture from the potatoes made this one pretty good. The unanimous thing that we agreed on is that their crust was amazing. Light and airy, crispy, flavorful, sturdy. The place was pretty busy so I understand service could be pretty slow but we did have some little hiccups: our server forgot our parmesan, our Yukon gold pizza was forgotten until the very end and our server forgot what we ordered...other than that, it was fine. The place has a very nice vibe of being slightly upscale but also not very formal at the same time. Price wise, I think the $3.14 is a really good deal, usually it's $7 for the pizza for happy hour which is just ok..

Yelp
My gosh this was amazing!!!! I've been avoiding this place just by the looks of it for a while due to it looking kind of low quality and flavorless. But this is just another lesson to never judge a book by it's cover! We were in the area and finally decided to cave in and give Serious Pie a try. It wasn't very busy so we were seated and tended to immediately. It was very open, lot's of seats and the place looks like it could get pretty busy. Once our orders were taken it was about 15 minutes for our 2 pies to arrive to our table. And about the food... just wow it was amazing. I've never experienced pizza with flavors like these spicy, salty, sweet just the perfect balance. Top it off with a rich marinara and a crispy smoky crust. These pizzas were some of the best and freshest I've ever had, and can see why this place has hype. But knowing this place is called Serious Pie we had to get a slice of the coconut cream pie. I can't even say which was better the Pizza or pie because again... omg!!! The coconut cream pie is the best I have ever had, later too I found out they own multiple restaurant company's one being a bakery. The bakery being a popular Seattle bakery, Dahlia bakery which also sells this pie. Upon more of my research I found this exact coconut pie was so good that President Obama asks for it by name! Okay... that was a lot so with my massive paragraph I think you know what to stick on your list to try!!!

Yelp
A quick update - were contacted by a representative of Serious Pie, with a kind and compassionate offer to help make amends for our experience. Now that is the kind of service I expect and appreciate from a Tom Douglas enterprise! While it doesn't change the meal or our one time experience, it does speak to the caliber of the leadership. Thank you!

Yelp
I wish this seriously good pie place had kid's menu!! It has hurt my heart to order a $19 cheese pizza to a picky toddler and watch him eat barely a half of it!! Other than the not-do-cheap prices this place is amazing and always packed for a reason! Their pizzas err...I mean pies are really good! The menu is limited but packed with delicious pies. They do have a limited appetizer menu that keeps rotating I believe. Love their mushroom truffle and the potato pies!

Yelp
Serious Pie is a newer addition to Totem Lake with some classic pizzas. They're thin crust, irregular shaped, and well topped. However, the price point is a bit high for the amount received. Hard for me to justify frequent visits but willing to come back if I'm in the area or a friend wants to try. $20 pizza before tax and tip is comparable to 2 or 3 pizzas from one of the fast food joints, so there's some debate between that. Ferndale Farms Mozzarella, Tomato Sauce, Fresh Basil - this is basically a margherita pizza. It's simple, fresh, and the mozzarella is much better than other cheeses. For those who don't order margherita, it may be shocking to have patches of sauce and patches with cheese. Sweet Fennel Sausage, Roasted Peppers, Provolone - a standard pizza that's good for those who order combo, supreme, or other meat pizzas. Nothing too crazy, thin with good toppings. Penn Cove Clams, Pancetta, Lemon Thyme, Parmesan, Chilli - this pizza packs some heat. It's not obvious at first, but two or three slices in, the chilli really takes effect. Clams are unique on a pizza in Washington and they're delicious. Nice texture from the clams, but what makes clam pizza stand out is the sauce base. There's no sauce so it's all clam, oil, and cheese to create some foundation.

Yelp
Serious Pie is a restaurant whose name carries with it a weight of expectation. Tom Douglas Restaurants tend to be spectacular and delightful. I've always wanted to try Serious Pie, but the Belltown location never was a convenient location, so I was delighted to see a Totem Lake location! Parking was a breeze at a nearby parking garage and upon entering we put our names in for the wait list. My friend I arrived just around lunch and this place was packed! The host told us it would be about thirty minutes so we walked around and just as anticipated thirty minutes later I received a text saying our table was ready. We were seated at a high table, near the bar, and it was a good spot for people watching. There were quite a few families here with young kids who happily chewed on pizza. I opted for the Ferndale farms mozzarella pizza as I wanted something delicious and simple. I also opted for a Negroni to drink. I quickly realized I did not like Negronis, but my friend does so it was a win for him. I then went with a gimlet and was very pleased! The pizza came out and at first I didn't think I could eat it all, but found that wasn't a problem. It was soooo good! The crust was light with a hint of salt, the crust crispy on the out, doughy on the in, the sauce was light and bright, and the cheese delectable! It was stunning. Our waitress was amazing as well. She was super attentive, fun to talk with, and gave great suggestions! Wonderful experience!

Yelp
Serious ripoff for ok pizza. Famous coconut cream pie was mostly cream and not much substance or flavor. Enthusiastic service. Comfortable enough atmosphere. Three stars is generous but it deserves better than two.

Yelp
First off, for the price they charge, we expected good things. Definitely not the case. The waiter was really friendly, I think his name was Dustin (or Justin), and recommended the kale salad and the mozzarella/basil pizza with pepperoni added to it. Told me those were his personal favorites. So I ordered exactly those two items. The kale salad came out right away. That was the good part. It was a bit spicy for my taste but we ate it. After 35 minutes, the waiter returned and asked if I was going to hang out and listen to the music. I replied, "more like wait for my pizza". He smiled and took the salad dish. He then returned later and apologized saying he totally forgot to enter the order for the pizza. He said he just placed the order and it should be a few minutes. When the pizza came out, it was a very plain pizza so I asked what happened. He then replied, oh I thought you said you wanted a simple cheese pizza with pepperoni... we never discussed anything near that so I'm not sure where he got that from. But he offered to have another one done right away. It took another ten minutes but was much better! What a huge mess and huge disappointment! Anna's lastly, if you want ice with your water, you have to order it.

Yelp
Pizza is good, nothing to write home about, however very small and thin for the price especially considering the pie to crust ratio. No kids option so it's $25 for a pepperoni pizza. Unfortunately it was over sauced which made it extremely floppy and hard to pick up. My son's favorite food is pizza, he's never not enjoyed it, however this was the exception. He tried it but wouldn't eat as much as it was soggy and overpowering. Wouldn't recommend a red sauce base here.

Yelp
I usually don't go out for pizza but my friend and I were in the area and were hungry so decided to stop by. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the pizza was! The thin crust was nice and fresh. Seasoning on top of the pizza was super yummy as well. Service was friendly. Great place for casual meal with friends!

Yelp
The pizzas made in their wood-fired ovens are definitely tasty. We had 6 pies to share amongst the 8 of us, and it was sufficient for us (a few slices left over). While tasty, $22/pie seemed egregious prices. The place is popular, and we had to return 40 minutes later with our name on the wait list on a weeknight. Several parking garages nearby. The inside is nice, though not spectacular in any manner. The staff was pretty good.

Yelp
We just returned to experience the lunch menu. Outdoor seating is certainly a plus on a gorgeous day! As with our last visit (brunch), the staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. The pizza was somewhat of a disappointment as it was too sloppy and impossible to handle. Taste was fine. Will return for brunch, not for lunch.

Yelp
Serious pie has a great atmosphere. Our pizza was fabulous. We tried the Sweet fennel sausage and the Oyster mushroom and truffle pizza. They were both very good. The Sweet fennel had the best flavor and the one we would get again. Service was great. Cost is expected for the area. We paid about $55 for two pizzas and the spicy side of ranch.
