The Best Underrated, Hidden Gem Restaurants in Portland | Eater Portland

"Just a few years ago, Serratto was perhaps more appropriately rated; however, this longstanding Northwest Portland Mediterranean restaurant has fallen off the radar of many. Nonetheless, Serratto has remained in the rotation of Nob Hill locals and is as good as ever: Any given night, families plunge spoons into the cheesy crust of French onion soup or twirl pappardelle coated in a beef cheek Stroganoff. The grilled double-cut pork chop, doused in lemon-honey butter, is a standout." - Eater Staff

Where to Find the Best French Onion Soup in Portland | Eater Portland

"Nob Hill’s Serratto is a cozy-yet-sophisticated stalwart in Northwest Portland, known for its house-made pastas. Serratto’s French onion soup arrives in a crock bubbling with beautifully browned Gruyere, balanced on seasoned croutons. It’s available during dinner service, though visitors can also snag it at happy hour for $8."

Google
A wonder Italian restaurant with great service. The menu is relatively small and they have 4 main pasta dishes. I highly recommend Pardatori, excellently seasoned with a perfect blend of richness and salt. Their French onion soup is also very delicious. We will definitely be going back

Google
Really loved the atmosphere and food at this place. We both had Mixed Green salads. I enjoyed the Pappardelle pasta and my wife enjoyed the Seared Sea Scallops. They also have a good selection of wines. Service is great and like a said, the atmosphere is excellent.

Google
Ahi tuna tartare nicoise ⭐⭐⭐✨ - I loved how fresh it was - the potato chips were home made and the fish didn't taste fishy - unsure if I love the olive x egg combo, but I could see a ton of people loving it Chile shrimp ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - love the flavor - the bread it came with was perfectly crispy in the grilled way, not in the stale way - juicy Beet salad ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - not enough goat cheese, maybe just the tiniest smear of it, but it was the thing that was making the dish special - super light and delicate in the best way - refreshing Burger ⭐⭐⭐ - good but I think we could make better at home - adored the fries though - they also cut it in half for us because they knew we were sharing

Sat down during happy hour and stayed until our reservation time. Food and service… I would say excellent!! Lamb and pasta dishes are 100% worth coming back for! Sorbet and crème brûlée are definitely a hit!!

Google
Updating my review of Serratto after trying out the restaurant again. The first time I tried out Sertatto, I think we just got unlucky in choosing dishes that weren't to our taste. We left a little disappointed and did not visit again for at least a year. We came back to try out Serratto and this time around, the dishes we got where so, so much better to our taste. We got the ravioli and the rigatoni and both of these dishes were absolutely beautiful and delicious. The pasta and sauce alongside the ingredients were perfectly cooked. I was so impressed with these dishes, it showcased the amazing food Serratto has. When you get sad that you can't cook your dish for every meal, that's how you know it's worth every bite. Paired with some wine and a delicious dessert, Serratto is a restaurant definitely worth your visit. Italian food doesn't get much better than here in Portland, I highly recommend!

Walked in and this place was packed and super busy during dinner time. We were going in sit in the bar but they didn't have any tables open that could seat a party of 3. The hostess said there was a couch upstairs that we could sit at that had a table but that the seats were low. We ended up sitting there because we didn't want to wait 40+ mins for a table. Service was okay. Our waiter was nice. The food was amazing. We loved everything we ordered. Lots of flavor and perfectly cooked. A bit spendy for such small portions.

Google
My favorite place for having bolognese in Portland, an amazing restaurant with great ambience, good food, awesome staff, the service is always so good! The pasta it’s always so fresh and the onion soup it’s delulu! We came for the happy hour 4-5 pm

What truly sets Serratto apart is the service. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely passionate about making sure every guest has a great experience. The bartender also deserves a shoutout—the craft cocktails are creative, well-balanced, and served with flair. Whether you're there for a casual happy hour or a special celebration, Serratto delivers. It’s clear that this restaurant takes pride in quality, consistency, and hospitality. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Atmosphere: Nice classy but not stuffy atmosphere. Open and bright enough room. Food: We enjoyed the food we had, although the Osso Bucco was a little bit sweet. The bolognese was very good. Price: Price was reasonable for sit-down Italian Service: Overall pretty decent service. Waitress was better than the bartender Parking: They have a valet lot for $7 but you're better off just finding street parking. Some people complain it can be challenging but my gf lives nearby and I don't typically have too much issue.

Yelp
A haiku review: Scallops so juicy They were buttery and soft Very small portion The creme brûlée? Mmmm Perfectly crunchy on top Quite expensive meal

Yelp
I gotta say I trust most Yelp reviews wholeheartedly and was cautious coming here for bday girl's dinner. If you are not 4.5+ with 300+ reviews it makes me dig into it more. For some reason Serrato's reviews seem to be more mixed than most. But the bday girl wanted French onion soup and the reviews on that were good and it is indeed spot on... The running theme for all the choices we made was 'wonderfully seasoned, not overly salty, soft proteins, pappardelle stroganoff was velvety creamy, as was the risotto, and osso bucco was wonderfully large and tender.' We communicated 'family style' and the response was on point. Multiple eating plates, multiple silverware with the entrees, the burger was even sliced 4-ways to sample. I was impressed with the attention to detail. The two nitpick is they could come back a bit sooner when it was very apparent everyone was done and maybe wanna see the dessert menu. We had to flag the staff. The second is the persistent reggae music... I love raggae, but not every song for 60+ minutes. Throw a little jazz in the mix...

Yelp
We went for a Saturday night dinner. It was my friend's go to spot for a while. I love love love the French onion soup and was willing to burn my tongue to eat it!! Highly recommend! We also ordered the fries which were yummy with the aioli. I ordered the radiatore which was really good but came out lukewarm unfortunately. When I reheated it at home it was amazing! You can taste the freshness of the pasta. I would totally come here again for a nice family or friend dinner. It's a moderately fancy spot with intimate lighting. They also have private seating available for parties. Everything looked really delectable and the service was attentive. Kindly note they have valet parking for about $7 around the block.

Yelp
People keep saying Portland is a city of food! Well not to me! I only give them 3 stars because of wine, design and service. Staff were very well trained and professional, but the food was very disappointing. Garlic bread was very average to low. Bread was super dry and not fresh. French onion soup gave heartburn to me and the pasta was super basic with nothing exciting in recipe. Overall I only enjoyed the wine and arts on the wall.

Yelp
This was a very enjoyable place to meet on a second date. Not too crowded at happy hour and early dinner. Our server was very accommodating finding us a different table & knowledgeable about the wine list. I was able to enjoy an excellent vegetarian meal. Noise level & ambience were great.

Yelp
Service: a tad awkward, the server was sort of hovering but didn't approach. Our service took a tad longer than expected, but it was alright since it was NYE and we were in good company with friends. Nothing was really STELLAR, but I would give it another try for the happy hour servings. Our total was short of $350 for table of 4. We indulged in the Caesar salad, tuna tartare, shrimp Chile, a bottle of red, lamb osso buco, steak, and ravioli. The salad was a salad. Tuna tartare was good with a surprising egg salad dish sandwiched within the tartar with potato chips for the vessel. Chile shrimp was ok - buttery, spice Lamb osso buco was super tender The steak we had ordered medium rare but when it came it was medium well The ravioli was great, and it was a favorite dish with this diner whom had dined here prior. Since I cannot give half stars, the 4 star bump was for the ambience, generous space arrangement, and location. Will give it another try.

Yelp
Delicious food & dreamy ambiance. We had excellent service & our server was very personable. The pasta was delicious and the dessert was decadent. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great happy hour options with food and drink. A family favorite. Four of us ate and drank and bill was just under $100. Great service. Delicious Caesar salad. If you eat meat the burger is a hit. Good happy hour drinks include comso and lemon drop. Serratto - many families are made of various types of dietary needs...please add a hearty vegan option to the HH menu. Pleeeease. Thx for the consideration.

Yelp
Delicious. Had the beet salad which was ok. The tenderloin was great and the scallops were spot on

Yelp
Dinner on December 30 was my second or third time eating at Serrato. Everything was perfect. I had a glass of wine and the bartender mixed a delicious mocktail for my friend. The garlic bread was delicious. The rigatoni was the perfect size and the taste was delicious. And the bittersweet chocolate cobbler (AKA chocolate lava cake) was rich. We got a to-go pizza. The biggest surprise was the bill - just over $100! My friend and I agreed that we are going back. It was a wonderful evening.

Yelp
The Radiarte (I believe that's how you spell it) with pork, lamb, and fresh pasta was great in texture, taste, and quality. My friends ordered the two other pasta dishes and they were delicious, especially the pesto. Our server, Alejandro, was kind and joking around with us; he made our night special. Bomb music in the place!! I've been listening to a lot of these songs with my dad since I was younger and it brought back a lot of nice memories. I'd come here again and order more if I had more money.

Yelp
Came in town for the week and found this little gem in the Pearl District! Great service and fabulous food!

Lisa L.

Yelp
We loved this place! Stumbled upon it by chance too. Food was perfectly cooked. Scallops were tender & situated in a medley of yumminess. Attentive & friendly wait staff even though we arrived close to closing time. They also have a beautiful area to host our next dinner party! One of the few places that don't charge a room rental fee & only have a food minimal purchase to reserve the space. The only con is the parking but with a little bit of patience & planning, parking is minimal compared to your fine dining experience at this wonderful restaurant!
google avatar

Yelp
Solid spot. Service wasn't fantastic but the kale salad was! I was disappointed with their cocktail list (a lot of smoky and spicy) and the by the glass wine list was limited for being called a "wine bar" in the description. Creme Bruele was delightful.

Yelp
As far as I can remember, this place has existed on the same corner in NW Portland. It feels like a permanent fixture of 21st avenue; the street would probably be devoid without it...at least from a nostalgia standpoint. When you walk in, the interior is a lot like someone's home if they live in NW Portland - wood finishes, mildly surrealist paintings, bottles of wine in sight. I am fairly certain this place hasn't changed for years, which is great for me because I cling to memories of childhood. Anyways, my thoughts on returning after years: The highlights: The radiatore and the risotto (which sounds a bit like a new age children's book title) were decent. Minimal complaints. The portions were hearty, the pasta was al dente. As far as modern Italian goes, the impressions we got were pretty standard. Our service was also fine! Do not read these other reviews and assume the service is lackluster. I have heard they are short staffed, but our server was appropriately attentive. I'm not sure if others expect their servers to be hovering nearby, available at the mere snap of the fingers. Please relax. The improveables: Once upon a time I remember their burger being on a list of "best burgers in Portland", and years ago I do remember being floored by this dish. But either my teenage brain is deceiving me, or they changed something about their burger. It nails the head on the definition of "okay". Good flavor with safe toppings (fried onions, white cheddar, bbq), but seemed disappointingly small, sandwiched between two very dry buns, and just didn't spark the burger joy I think I once had. Ah well. I also would have liked the chile shrimps to come with more than a few little tails for $16. The sauce was not wasted though. I have also heard from others that the restaurant space feels cramped, which we did not experience until the table of twelve next to us drowned out all of our sentences. This spot is a good choice if you are in the NW neighborhood and in the mood to be fed. Perhaps avoid if you are bringing your aging parents and want to hear one another while chatting. You may not be floored like I once was many years ago, and sometimes, that's okay. Sometimes, we spend the $20-30 a person to leave with a full stomach and not much else.

Yelp
The food is exquisite, the atmosphere is amazing, and the service is fantastic. I will definitely be back on my next visit.

Yelp
I was sorely disappointed when we celebrated my boyfriend's birthday at this modern Italian - American restaurant. We made a reservation a week in advance noting we were celebrating a birthday. Our service took 15-20 minutes before bringing water or checking in on us and even when we mentioned it was a birthday, there was no enthusiasm about celebrating. We were also wedged between two tables-- one complaining the entire time and another with young children. We had several cocktails which made me uncomfortable to drink and enjoy within 2 feet of young kids. For the food, the portion sizes were lack luster. The pasta was the only redeeming dish, but it was a basic rigatoni. There was no gluten free pasta option which was shocking considering every similar restaurant in the area now has 2-6 options. The scallops and shrimp were over cooked slightly so they were tad cold and chewy. At the end we wanted dessert but our waitress was nowhere to be found so we just asked for the check and headed out. I don't think I'll be in again with so many other great Italian options in the area, especially at this price point. The atmosphere seems endearing but our experience was cramped, uncomfortable, unattended to, overpriced, and underwhelming.

Yelp
We drive from Ridgefield WA to have dinner here. The staff is always attentive and the food is delicious! We always order the French onion soup and the Kale salad, both favorites. The halibut is also very good.
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
Apparently this is one of my boyfriend's favorite place so I decided to take him on a date here. I give it a 4/5 because the service was kinda slow and there were flies everywhere. At one point it landed in my wine and it had to be replaced. I do keep in mind of the short staff. There's a parking lot designated so you don't have to look for street. On to the food... French onion soup.. very flavorful 5/5 Cesar salad.. can't go wrong 5/5 Pappardelle: lots of flavor 4/5 Tenderloin: the meat was cooked to perfection, but sauce was a bit overpowering with salt 3.5/5 Creme brûlée.. can't go wrong! 5/5 I liked our waiter. He was attentive. Overall, it's a cute spot for date night, celebrations, or just to hang out. The wine flight was fantastic for the price!

Yelp
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and we had great service during our dinner! Super kind and attentive waitress. I had French onion soup and the mushroom risotto. We all agreed that the French onion soup was really well made - usually this soup is very salty at most restaurants but not here! The French onion soup had a subtle sweetness from the onion and wasn't overpowered by sodium. The mushroom risotto was alright - might have had too many flavors competing for attention with the truffle but was still good. We had a really nice dinner and I would come back to try some of the other pasta dishes that my party enjoyed!

Mary S.

Yelp
Great food, but I recently got a to-go order, and they applied an automatic 15% tip. Maybe instead of forcing people to tip, you should think about paying your staff a living wage. Also, I'm sorry, but the level of service involved with a to-go order is not the same as eat-in. No one had to refill my water or ask if I'd like dessert or clean my table. Also, I didn't get any bread with my to-go order. I hope the tip went to the back of house people.
google avatar

Yelp
The seared sea scallops were amazing. So much depth & complexity in the flavors. Some of the best garlic herb bread I've ever had. Service was great, we were seated immediately upon arriving for our reservation & tended to often. I would love to come back & try other dishes although it will be hard to stray from those scallops! We enjoyed the ambiance of the dining area & felt as though we could show up dressed up or down & still be comfortable.

Yelp
I have been going to Serrato regularly since 2015 when I first moved to Portland. The restaurant is consistently amazing. The staff is great (and even make an effort to know who I am and what my usual orders are (even when I only go once per month)), the ambiance is fabulous (love the music and decor!), the drinks are yummy (love the margaritas and lemon drops!), and the food is just delicious (rigatoni, garlic bread, ahi tuna, ravioli, scallops, beef tenderloin, sorbet, key lime tart, creme brulee, chocolate cobbler, etc.) Shout out to our favorite servers - Sadie and Sara!
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
An absolute perfect place to dine!! Amazing space, clean inviting atmosphere!! Our server, Julia.... A treasure!!:) she was very kind and just an amazing person all night. The food was soo delicious...wow, makes me hungry just thinking of it!! Everything is perfect about this place...and valet parking to boot!!!
google avatar

Sai B.

Yelp
TLDR: Skip the pizza and go for the pastas! Started off with the Garlic Bread which was delicious but a bit on the oily side. The risotto was creamy and perfectly cooked. The pizza was doughy and a bit of a disappointment but the pastas were unique and very tasty. The crème brûlée was a great way to round out the meal. I highly recommend a trip to Serratto!
google avatar

Ryan Y.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. We celebrated a birthday. We had a wonderful meal. The only thing that needed work was the creme brulee. It needed a thicker layer of sugar. Still delicious. They are always consistently good. I love their service and staff. They even accommodated us as we arrived a little earlier than our reservation.
google avatar

Debora W.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. We really enjoyed the ambiance, which was not loud so we could talk to each other comfortably. Two of us had the grilled scallops which were fantastic. Good cocktails and wine too.
google avatar

Christina N.

Yelp
Came here for a wedding rehearsal dinner and both the food and service was great. We had a private room upstairs that sat close to twenty people. Appetizer was beet salad and it was light and refreshing. Main entree was steak cooked to a perfect medium rare. Dessert was a trio of cakes. Portions were decent sized and we were sufficiently full by the end.
google avatar

Drew H.

Yelp
My fiance and I love this place. We usually go to celebrate a birthday. Service has always been good. The radiatore is the best in Portland. We also love the mushroom risotto. We haven't had a bad wine from the wine list. And the staff usually brings a creme brulee for birthday celebrations.
google avatar

Sisilla C.

Yelp
The space has a rustic and slightly old-world feel, with lovely wood floors and ceiling beams. The lighting adds ambiance, along with wrought-iron chandeliers. The food was delicious, though the portions may be relatively small. I would recommend adding a starter to the meal. There's an extensive wine list but you cannot sample anything and even local wines are priced pretty far above what you spend for the same wine at the supermarket. I know this is fairly normal but it's always annoying! Finally, for me, I found the service lacking. We made reservations but we're then seated at a tiny table next to the wall & hallway to the restrooms, despite the room we were in being almost empty. Our server seemed to forget about us throughout but apologized constantly, instead of just paying us more attention. We had items delivered to our table that weren't ours at least twice, so either he was making mistakes or others were but I've honestly never had that happen once, in all my years of dining out, much less twice! Even worse, the server, upon seeing the wrong drink had been delivered, took that drink to the correct table, on my word alone that we hadn't touched it. It had been sitting at our table for several minutes. From a food safety perspective, the drink should have been remade. I was honestly surprised at this lack of concern. I am not certain I will go back, just because of that.

Yelp
Ate at the bar - phenomenal service, delightful drinks. And the food- so good. Will be returning soon-

Jim Q.

Yelp
Really good value for a mid range restaurant - a gourmet experience. Very creative dishes. I loved the tuna tartare. Good service. Nice atmosphere.
google avatar

Jonathan Y.

Yelp
I'm not the biggest fan of Italian food but this restaurant was not bad. I did think it was kind of cramped aka the tables were all pretty close together. They had salt on the table in an open container which is kind of strange as multiple people may grab at it because of salt bae craze. My painted hills burger was not bad actually with the meat being cooked to rare like asked. The pizza was pretty flavorful and the cream corn pasta had a sweet flavor. That being said, the food and atmosphere wasn't quite my cup of tea but that's just my opinion.
google avatar

Theresa P.

Yelp
Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff, food was good but I think we were more wowed by the garlic bread than the pasta dishes we got as our entrees. Would recommend though if you're looking for a place for a nice date night or a slightly upscale dinner, especially with the huge wine selection
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
Good ambiance and service, food is pretty average Italian. We arrived 20 mins early for our reservation and was asked to return at our scheduled time and when we did, we waited 25 minutes to be sat. The lamb/pork ragu radiattori pasta was unfortunately way too salty to enjoy, but the arabbiata pasta was slightly better. I can't rave about our experience enough to recommend it, but we could have just visited them on an off night.
google avatar

Allison H.

Yelp
I'm so bummed to give this place only 3* but here we are. My partner and I ate here back in February and had an amazing time. We ordered the tuna tartare, garlic bread, radiatore pasta, scallops, and the hen (it was a daily special). Everything we ate was delicious and the service was fantastic. Probably one of the best meals we've had together. I have been raving about this place ever since, and still drool over the hen I had. We returned to Serrato recently and our experience was a complete 180, it didn't even feel like we were at the same restaurant. Our food took an unusually long time to come out. We watched a table get seated, fed, and leave all before our food arrived. I wouldn't have minded the wait, except that once they took our order, our server disappeared (they also seemed really inexperienced). We finished our drinks, including our water, and just sat there awkwardly waiting for food. No one ever checked in on our drinks. Eventually my partner's dad flagged someone down to ask what was going on, and they said the kitchen was having "a night." Of course at that moment our food arrived, to which they said, "oooh actually that's why - you ordered the pork chop." Their tone felt accusatory, as if we should've known better. Not a problem at all if the pork chop takes extra time to cook, but maybe provide a heads up when it's ordered? My partner's pork chop was raw in the middle and he had to send it back, which was really frustrating considering how long we had waited. The bigger bummer was my meal (beef tenderloin) was cold. While we waited for his pork chop to be re-fired we split my cold beef tenderloin, then split his pork chop. Once we got the pork chop back it was pretty damn good. I'd add that the rigatoni pasta we had as an appetizer was also delicious. The staff ended up comping the pork chop, and dessert, without us having to ask/say anything, which was a nice gesture and much appreciated. But, I just can't get past the level of service...and I'm still annoyed we never had an opportunity to get more drinks - a second glass of wine would've made my cold steak taste a lot better. Anyway - if this was my only visit to Serrato I'd probably give it 1*, but since our previous visit was so out of the park (and because the food is that good), I'm splitting the difference to 3*.

Yelp
My waiter gave my food to the table next to me, then after being called by the table to be told it was not theirs, he proceeded to pick up the plates and try and put them on my table. I told him that I would prefer new dishes as that is extremely unsanitary, to which he replied with a scoff "they didn't even touch it" must not have a food handlers license, incredibly unprofessional, will not be returning.

Yelp
A staple in NW Portland. You come here when you want a predictably good meal. There is very little variation, so each dish is consistent. I recently tried the scallops, and there were 4 large scallops cooked to perfection. $35.00 may be steep, but who wants cheap seafood? Service is stellar. The manager, who I believe is the bald white guy that seems to run the show, can be kinda a jerk at times. Thankfully, he is nearly never at the front when I go, so whatever. There is one very good bartender. Tall, good-lookin' dark haired guy. He should train the others, IMO. So, you're more likely to get a balanced drink if he's there. Otherwise... do wine or beer? Every server at our table has been good to excellent. No complaints at all with the many times I've been there.

Yelp
Easily the best meal we had in Portland! The restaurant has a nice and warm ambiance and the staff was very helpful. We loved our server Tony, who was informative, attentive, and fun. We started the meal with splinting a kale salad. The addition of apples was perfect. The cherries were subtle, not too tart, and didn't over power the salad. The dressing was perfectly coating the salad, but it wasn't wet. And we appreciated that the kale was actually slivered rather than the usual chunks. The attention to detail was great. I then had the duck, and my fiend and the spaghetti with shrimp. While the duck skin was crisp, would have liked for it to be more crispy, so there would be more textural differences in the dish. Still tasted delicious, as did the spaghetti, though it had a tad too much dill. For dessert we had the bitter chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and the blueberry lemon curd tart. The bitter chocolate was indeed deliciously bitter with the ice cream perfectly offsetting. The tart was a bit disappointing in execution: the curd was not set such that when eating it didn't bleed out of the case onto the plate. And the tart pasty was very thick and tough, so was challenging to eat. Was still delicious though. All in all, glad we shared a bottle to blanc de blanc to toast the meal and our time in Portland.

Yelp
Everything was excellent here, the location, ambiance, service and food (full of flavor rather than salt). Wow, what a rare find. Nice job Serratto!

Yelp
Great Restaurant served with a flair! Waiter was very good knew his wines, drinks and everything on the menu! One of our very favorite places in Portland!

Had a great dinner with my parents here. The waiter was so nice. The food is great and very reasonably priced given the quality. Check it out!

Yelp
Our first night in Portland and we landed in a great spot for dinner. Serratto is in a very walkable area of the Pearl, only a few blocks from our hotel. Really beautiful space, big picture windows looking out on tree-lined streets, to us reminiscent of restaurants in uptown New Orleans. Great vibe. Our server was very helpful in making menu suggestions and possible accommodations for my wife's dietary limitations. We began by splitting a wonderfully fresh Bibb lettuce salad, then she had a delicious bone in double cut pork chop with roasted potatoes and carrots and I had the seared scallops with quinoa, asparagus, zucchini, tomatoes, and fennel. Both entrees were prepared to perfection in addition to being beautifully plated. A couple of glasses of Pinot Noir paired nicely with both entrees. Prices are very reasonable.

Yelp
after 2 visits I'm giving a solid 3.5 pushing towards a 4. Our first visit was less than memorable, hostess was rude and was putting off a bad vibe to all tables around us. I could tell everyone felt awkward, but that was about a year ago. This time I came for a work dinner and our server was excellent. Work ordered us some garlic bread and a margharita pizza. Both were really solid. I had the tuna tartare which for me was the highlight, loved all the different textures and different levels of saltiness. For main course I had the duck breast, flavor wise it was really tasty. Texture wise it was a little chewier than I would've liked. I ordered it medium rare but was definitely closer to rare, that part didn't bug me much but thought it was worth a mention. All in all I'm hoping next time I visit these kinks are worked out and I can give it a full 4 stars.

Yelp
The restaurant ambiance is very relaxing in the heart of industrial road. Beautiful chandelier that light up the right amount to be a bit romantic. Onion soup was delicious and cheesy, which is something my husband loves. The scallops were cooked very well that u can still taste a bit of the ocean to enjoy its freshness. The hanger steak was the only thing if I had to nit pit was a bit salty but the sauce was delicious with it. My favorite of all time was the risotto. It was so delicious I kept going back for more and more. If you don't like mushrooms though you might not like the place because majority of the food is revoled around mushroom. Overall well done and the service was on point. They checked in enough time to still feel like they cared but left as alone enough that it wasn't annoying.

Yelp
Exceptional kitchen, excellent service, and an above average bar made for a pretty awesome two evenings in Portland. The cheese ravioli's butternut squash sauce was deceptively light. The shrimp pasta was cooked perfectly and in a nice light sauce, not over sauced, as well. Eric, at the bar, turns out some yeoman-like craft cocktails, coffee, and creatively curated wines. Dessert was awesome, from the creme brûlée, to the panna cotta. Service was excellent. My only complaint were the chairs with the jute seats, located in one part of the restaurant, fit for a monk doing penance. The other chairs in 90% of the restaurant are fab. Why make six of us suffer for our cuisine? Parking is non-existent. Definitely one of the best eateries in the District.
