Serre

"A bright space with a gorgeous canalside terrace, Serre has a Japanese minimalist feel. Reflecting the international atmosphere of the luxury Hotel Okura, this restaurant serves fusion cuisine with a slight penchant for Far Eastern influences. Start with a platter of super-fresh oysters and then pick one of the sharing dishes. Alternatively, there is a set menu with mouth-watering options for each course, such as smoked salmon with a refreshing Thai twist. And those who prefer to avoid meat and fish are sure to find something to their liking." - Michelin Inspector

Beautiful location where we had a fun afternoon tea. The 3 different teas are excellent and go very well with the 3 courses (savoury, scones, sweet). I had been too polite about specifying we wanted vegetarian food and after half an hour someone came to ask. This delayed the proceedings somewhat. The savoury dishes were good. The scones were 1 cheese & jalapeno and 1 with jam & cream. They were excellent. The sweet course was also good but not excellent. The macaron with a centre of marshmallow had little flavour. The roll and lycee pastries were very good m The staff were wonderful and answered our many questions about the tea. We had a lovely afternoon before strolling round the exceptionally beautiful hotel.

A Bib Gourmand award by Michelin is given to restaurants that offer a high-quality three course meal at "reasonable prices." This meal I had was under €75 in total. [Cod Ceviche, Lobster Claw, White Asparagus] Every dish was simply great. I highly recommend Serre when in Amsterdam. At the Okura Hotel. Trivia. There is also a Michelin Japanese Restaurant in the same hotel.

Great service, the food was very savory and well prepared, the wine tasted quite good and good variety on the menu, I would’ve appreciated some background music for enhancing the dining experience. Hope to be back and try another of their dishes.

Delightful afternoon tea. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Favorites were the artichoke soup, okonomiyaki, cheddar & jalapeno scone and the yuzu dessert. Service was attentive and friendly. The whole affair took 2 hours so not suitable if you are in a rush, but an excellent choice if you are looking for a relaxed afternoon tea with great food

I was here with a friend yesterday. All smiles from staff when we walked in. We were taken care of by Vladimira. We had the okura curvee (which is a must have) and some snacks on the terrace. Best fried chicken ever. Our waiter knew we wanted to go inside eventually for dinner. When it became busy, she booked a table for us. That was so well done! We sat down had some items of the menu which were just incredible. There was this lady who served the food everytime. She was so professional and kind. Unfortunatly i didnt get her name. Tomme was the waiter from the moment we switched from terrace to restaurant. Lovely, detailed and very kind waiter. Everything was so lovely, food, drinks, service and the restaurant itself. It was incredible. I would like to give a big shoutout to all teammembers involved. Ghankyou for giving us such a great visit.

Nice restaurant situated in a Serre with a nice garden/terrace where you can have lunch/dinner daily from 11:00. The food and wine is always very good.

We stayed at the hotel and decided to check the restaurant out. Friendly staff, little bit slow with the food, but overall good. Loved the pearl couscous!

This restaurant offers a delightful blend of a romantic atmosphere and versatile ambiance, making it perfect for friendly dinners, business meetings, or intimate romantic occasions. The food was great, starting with high-quality oysters and delectable starters. Special thanks to the chef team for the oysters in batter, which were perfectly crispy and they paired well with super fresh oysters with cucumber taste. Another standout was the ceviche paired with grilled corn, an inspired combination that elevated the dish with its vibrant and smoky contrast. A unique touch was the branded Veuve Clicquot glasses, adding elegance and sophistication to the dining experience. For the main course, the dishes were a creative interpretation of local cuisine. I particularly enjoyed the pheasant on sauerkraut, which was both flavorful and well-presented. Vegan options were thoughtfully included on the menu, catering to diverse dietary preferences. The desserts were perfectly balanced in sweetness, making them an excellent complement to tea or coffee. The service was truly exceptional and deserves special mention. The attentive dining team replaced cutlery for every dish and thoughtfully provided sweets and a small bun to accompany the coffee. These little details elevated the overall experience and made it truly memorable. Overall, this restaurant excels in every aspect, from the quality of the food to the ambiance and service. I highly recommend it for any occasion.

Yelp
Restaurants don't receive MICHELIN ratings by accident... they earn them! Serre certainly earned and deserved a Michelin rating! Their food, service and ambiance is stunning to say the lease. We decided to have lunch at Serre and were certainly not disappointed. Their Club sandwich and chips were so delicious! If you're near the Hotel Okura, you should give Serre a try, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
What a find, this restaurant is located inside a hotel, but it's well worth seeking out. The service from the moment you enter the staff is on it; happy to greet you, choice of indoor or outdoor seating; staff makes good recommendations. We started with wine, bread & hummus with pimentos was brought out. You have choices from 2 menus, we happened to go with build a meal of 3. Serving are small, but not too small: starter were the cauliflower done with coconut & almonds, just scrumptious, followed by tuna with avocado & sesame seed oil - tasty. For the mains we both opted for the sea bass with fregolal done in an anchovy sauce with shaved fennel on top, melts in your mouth. Ending with the Dutch Strawberry dessert, which seems deconstructed yet every bit was delicious. We sat outside, which has a view of the water canal, so you can watch the various boat going bye. Definitely a must stop if you're traveling thru

Yelp
Amazing tasting menu and service. The variety of ingredients, flavor profiles, presentation, and attention to detail make this a Michelin quality establishment.

Yelp
Stayed in Okura for a few days and dined at Serre multiple times. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. I tried a hamburger, fish, steak, soups, and desserts, and everything was perfect. Serre absolutely deserves Michelin's Bib Gourmand recognition. Wonderful and highly recommended.

Yelp
Great food and wonderful service in a beautiful setting. The staff is super attentive and the kids menu was even diverse and impressive. The "natural" tartare (which base is watermelon) is one of my favorite dishes and the vegetarian gnocchi too! Delicious.

Yelp
The latest culinary experience in the Okura hotel. Nice, very nice. A great spin off the Ciel Bleu restaurant with a very interesting menu, super wines and top service. I went for the bibendum 4 courses menu with wine tasting. From entree to dessert every single detail on the dish is carefully looked at. Taste and look are melt together in a tasty delicate experience. Clear influence from Japanese cuisine with influence from every part of the world. Fish was the main drive all dinner long. No rush to go trough your meal and every wine is carefully served in the appropriate glass with full explanations and "why" behind it. Next step now is Ciel Bleu but also Sierre is a come back for more :) Not cheap, but if you go for the menu you get the best I believe. Not too big dinning room but good size, not noisy and perfect lighting :) You can not just show up... reservation is a must.

Yelp
Serre is in the Okura Hotel. We were jet lagged hotel guest and went in for a bite before retiring for the evening. We did not have a reservation, and were treated as royalty. Excellent service. Seeing that we were tired the waiter suggested a bottle of wine and a light entree. It was exactly what we needed. The restaurant is small and intimate. A great place for a romantic dinner.

Yelp
Fantastic place to spend your Christmas eve with family. We had the standard 4 course Christmas menu, and the food totally blew us off. Predominantly as any other French restaurant they had mostly fish dishes, but nothing to complain. They also server matching wines so go along with the food. We didn't take the wine arrangement, but the waitress made sure our wine servings were very generous ;) Great service and kid-friendly restaurant, pricey but it is worth every penny. The class and finesse to the mark. would love to go there on a normal day, but hey! its not a normal every-day restaurant.

Yelp
We went for our anniversary dinner. The service was excellent. The restaurant is located right on the ground floor of Hotel Okura. We ordered the prefix menu. The appetizers- duck ramen- was on the salty side. The fish dish was done to the perfection. The fish was so fresh and seasoned with distinctive flavors. The main dish was also prepared to the perfection. The cheese dessert has several small pieces. The Cheesecake was the perfect portion with such light texture and yet strong flavor. We loved it. Also the restaurant gave us a surprise dessert plate too. I highly recommend this place for its value, service, and quality of the food.

Yelp
The food is not what you expect, all of the entrees are small portions like an appetizer. If you do go, be careful of the old waitress, she charged me double on the appetizer and acted like she didn't know English after I ask her about it. She refused to take it off the bill so I had to pay for her mistake.

Yelp
No words...speechless. Amazing food and staff, one of the best restaurants I've ever been to if not the best. I had the ribeye...amazing, the ravioli-superb. Dessert was so good I had a second...the Sunday. Portions were perfect. We are staying at this hotel and let me say the front desk staff is so accommodating....unforgettable experience.
