Yelp
Sesame Grill has been one of my favorite Pandemic-era finds, thanks to the good folks over at the SGV Eats Facebook group! While I can see from reviews, and photos, and updates from the owners themselves that this spot was a very different place pre-Pandemic, I'm more than happy with the spot that it has become!
Sesame Grill now specializes in chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches. Think Howlin' Rays, but different...dare I say, better? Their servings are generous, and the chicken really is the star. Huge pieces and always deep fried to perfection, with crispy coating, juicy, succulent meat, and quite a bit of a kick if you choose to order your tenders spicy (they really are very hot! Don't say I didn't warn you!), you really can't go wrong. Prices are reasonable as well. A 3 piece order of tenders comes with cole slaw, fries, and a piece of their freshly baked bread for only $8.75. Prices go up in intervals as you add pieces, and there is an extra charge for spicy chicken.
They also have an assortment of other offerings, including fried shrimp, egg rolls, different types of fries, and other special dishes, such as ravioli and chicken soup that are pro by the owners on the SGV Eats page. Call ahead and place you order for quick pickup, as sometimes there can be a wait at the door during peak hours. Either way, it is worth the wait to support this local business and their delicious food!
So overall...
-The good: Generous portions of their amazing chicken tenders and enormous chicken sandwiches! Tasty and freshly made. Truly some top-notch chicken.
-The bad: I ordered medium spice chicken tenders once and was unprepared for how spicy they were! They pack a lot of heat and flavor!
-The ugly: Upcharge for spicy is somewhat high. Difference is $1.50 for spicy. I'd be more inclined to order them without the upcharge.
