Kiko Mizuhara’s Tokyo: A Stylish Insider’s Guide

"It always features fantastic exhibitions, showcasing renowned artists like Shiro Kuramata. The museum has a calm atmosphere, and the building itself is stunning. After exploring the exhibits, I like to have tea with friends at the café downstairs or relax on the beautiful park grounds right in front. Highly recommended for friends or dates." - The MICHELIN Guide

Quite a nice gallery in Kunata park. You can wander around the outside and appreciate the architecture & sculptures, or pay 200 yen for the small permanent exhibit, but I'd recommend waiting for an interesting special exhibit, usually about 1000 yen. Nice small cafe as well. Can be crowded on the weekend.

Went to see the “galleries without artworks” yesterday. It’s quite a nice museum, spacious exhibition rooms, modern architecture and friendly staffs. The park in which the museum is location is also very big and can be an ideal location for picnics. Parking lot is free if you visit the museum.

This is a nice local museum with a pleasant restaurant. Entrance was only 200 yen. I had the afternoon coffee and cake set at the restaurant. I particularly liked the Galleries Without Artworks exhibit which was exactly that: empty gallery walls due to Covid but nice views of the park from big windows and interesting architecture.

I came to the Shinya Fujiwara exhibit. It was very complete, nicely “narrated” by text from the original artist, and photography being allowed was a great plus. I recommend this place!

I went to see the Grandma Moses exhibit at the Setagaya Museum today. Grandma Moses painted idyllic scenes of rural life in the northeastern part of the United States. Her paintings depict a mostly bygone era of life on the farm, in harmony with the seasons. The amazing thing about Grandma Moses is that she didn’t start painting until she was in her late 70s. Shortly after, she became one of the best known artists of her time in the U.S. If you think you might be too old to start something new, perhaps Grandma Moses can serve as an inspiration.

A little bit far from train station or bus stop, but it’s good art museum which has calm atmosphere. Specialty mentioned this art museum has a lobby with wide windows, it seems like a picture!

Surrounded by a beautiful park, this museum is a must visit in Spring while the cherry blossoms are in full bloom! The museum had areas under construction when I went but the rest of the museum was very interesting.
