Settle Down Easy - Oakton Tasting Room

We’ve been frequenting Settle Down Easy as a family….the new menu is delicious and the space is perfect for everyone — the kids can hang out while the adults actually get to relax and socialize (a rare win!). We’ve hosted team dinners and parent meetups in the past there as well. Every single visit the staff has been friendly, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. It has a great vibe, great drinks and truly feels like a neighborhood gem. We love that it’s not a chain — it’s great being able to support a local small business that’s doing it right. If you’re in the area, definitely check it out!

You gotta love SDE!! Great owners from the community that established our go to beer, food, and fun. The service is great and staff very friendly. A place that they learn your name and make it personal. Whether it’s a quick beer, a family dinner, or a big event with friends, we always have a great time at SDE!

Incredible food and a nice selection of beers! The location has a nice relaxing atmosphere too 😊 I tried the mac and cheese which was super creamy and delicious, and I also had the lentil soup which was nicely spiced! My husband had a chicken and bacon sandwich that he said was really tasty. We also shared the momos and a pretzel. I love the sauce that comes with the momos, and the pretzel was great! The beer cheese that came with the pretzel wasn't my favorite, but it also came with some spicy mustard which I did like. Even though the name of the business that does the food is the Fermented Pig, there are plenty of delicious options for vegetarians, which I really appreciated! We tried a couple of beers that were all good, but the standout one was a smoky beer which was quite unusual but tasty! Service here was great, and all the employees are super friendly. I'm excited to come back sometime!

I was excited to try this new brewery out having visited their location in Falls Church. The interior feels clean and new, almost like a furniture showroom. The setup is interesting, with Settle Down selling drinks from the bar and Fermented Pig selling food in the back. I like the idea, but having to run two separate tabs in the same place feels like a bumpy customer experience that should be easy to solve. Food was the standard type of brewery fayre, all very well done and benefiting very much from the superstar fermented pig raw materials (+1 for using a local supplier). My friends enjoyed most of their beers, soda was the only non-alcoholic option. TV setup looks good for sports viewing.

Good beer but even better food! We were there couple of weeks back and they have a great selection of local brews (Lagers, Pale Ales, IPAs, Kölsch, Stouts, Ciders, you name it) but the highlight was the food from the Fermented Pig venue inside the place. We ordered couple of appetizers (Roasted Beet & Orange Salad, 3-sauce Scallops, and Himalayan Dumplings) and they were simply spectacular. Good presentation and awesome flavor. For main course my wife got the Roasted Cod and she loved it. I ordered the sliders and the combination of meat was really good. Prices were surprisingly low compared to other places around this area . We will be back for sure.

Ordered takeout. Amongst us we had: Brisket nachos, Sliders, Knot pretzel, Brisket chili, Mac n cheese, Burger, and Bratwurst. First time I had heard of SDE was at Taste of Vienna, then Vienna’s Oktoberfest. I had the Bratwurst at both. I usually don’t do bratwurst, but it was great. The entree came with potatoes that were perfectly cooked as well. Brisket chili was was very impressive; very meaty, good amount of spice, and balanced. Highly recommend. The mac n cheese is also worth it; very flavorful, and not like most I’ve tried. The pretzel was fine. No complaints about any of the others, my son loved the burger.

First time visiting SDE and already planning my next visit! We shared everything in the photos below: cider, blueberry sour, brisket nachos, and petite tender steak. Everything that we had was phenomenal, with the honorable mention being the steak and potatoes. So tender and flavorful! The owners Frank and Misty were attentive and an absolute pleasure to speak with. I truly couldn’t recommend this place enough for great drinks and food.

I work for a nonprofit that hosts an annual event here, and it’s always a great experience. Frank and Chef Philip are incredibly easy and pleasant to work with. The venue offers a wide selection of beers, delicious food, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and a team of friendly, capable staff. I highly recommend checking out SDE, whether you're planning a private event, grabbing dinner, or just stopping in for drinks. Be sure to check out their Trivia Night and Music Bingo too (Tuesdays and Thursdays, respectively).

Had to cancel our beach trip this weekend due to a nor'easter and made an impromptu meetup with friends here. Not knowing that they happen to have a band playing here for a fundraiser. We tried a flight of beers and I liked the Hazy IPA and Cherry Sour. BBQed brisket was a little dry but it was tasty. The wings are OK , but the sauce was a bit saltier than I prefer. Overall we are glad that we've found this place.

Swung by what is probably our most local brewery for an afternoon beer. It's in a strip mall and has taken over two of the spaces in there. We went just for the beer, no food - I think a lot of the five star reviews are for the BBQ. Lots of space for friends, kids, big meetups, though we just sat at a high top and enjoyed one of the sports games while we tried our beers. Quality was fine, I thought the Kolsch was a little off but the others we sampled were good. Kind staff too. We'll try their space in Merrifield / Falls Church next.

The reviews don't lie, the food is pretty dang good. We got the frickleburger, frickles, and wings. They should be considered in that order. The burger was magnificent. Not too greasy, not too dry. Excellent! The frickles were lightly breaded and paired very well with the chipotle ranch. Beer was good but hard to compare to the food. Ngl vibes were interesting. Pretty dead on a Saturday night and music was all over the place (I'm talking Kesha and Jason Mraz...) but it fit our needs! Would recommend for a chill vibe.

Very good beer! Lots of beer on tap and they allow samplers. Staff was very friendly and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. Plenty of TVs to watch sports or anything else, staff let me know to tell them if I wanted a channel change. Marzen was good and I would recommend, very good malty taste.

SDE oakton is great. My favorite beer by far is the cloud 9 but they always have a good selection to try. Brian is awesome he is always friendly and gives a great input on things to try. Kennedy and Jax the other bartenders have always been just as welcoming and friendly. Great place to go and relax. Foods good beers great. Definitely recommend trying the grilled chicken sandwich with some fries and the bread pudding.

Always a great time here! New menu has many more options all delicious! Flatbreads, wings (great flavors), burgers, chili nachos and of course the beer. All Weiner No Schnitzel beer is my favorite today!

The food was great. Staff was super nice. Spent a little more money than planned, but it was worth it. We'll be back.

Came into Settle Down Easy because of a chocolate and candle vendor. Was able to try some of their seltzers and it was really delicious. The service here is really good and is very bright and spacious! Can't wait to come back and try some of their beers and some of the food!

I have been to both locations and prefer the new Oakton spot. The beers to go can get a bit pricey ($24 for a 4 pack!), but it's a convenient location, nice and clean, with different types of seating, and offering flights. I think the way they do their flights is pretty cool too with color coding so it's easy to tell which drink is which. The food options at The Fermented Pig are also pretty tasty.

I don't want to give this one a 3 stars rating. But that's what the beers of settle down easy are. What I like is that this place is combined with the "fermented pig" restaurant which is awesome with excellent Barbeque options. Love the sliders, nachos, salads and pretzels. There's plenty of room and the ambiance is low key and inexpensive looking. Not pretentious. For settle down easy the service is ok....the lady at the bar was surly and awkward whereas the guy was friendly and professional. Their NE IPAs are average including their signature ones. The milk stout would rate a 4, as well as the unique lager brewed in bourbon casks. Looking forward to more and better brew options here. But for now I prefer going to Aslin brewing or the new Commonwealth brewing for great beer. But I want this place to do well hence the 4 stars.

I visited last month with a group of people. The server was very helpful and informed us about the ordering and payment processes. We had a bunch of apps (charcuterie board, nachos, etc) and I ordered the chili. The food was awesome and very shareable. I had the IPA to wash it all down. Will definitely return with family. My only suggestion is I do wish they add a few acoustical elements to damper the noise.

Had them all; no duds. Damn good beer up and down the list. Really liked the 123 and 4Cloud18. Partnership with Fermented pumps out brisket heavy food (had the chili and nachos). Good prices on both tabs. Edit. SUNDAY TICKET

Best restaurant!! Food, service, and beer were awesome. Best part is that it's family owned and operated so there's a good chance that the guy behind the bar is your neighbor or went to school with your kids. I go there all the time and hosted my holiday party there. Great place whether you want a chill dinner, want to watch football, or want a fun night out.

Great brewery with solid beers and love the brewery side of the new location. Polite staff, helpful with decisions, and everything you expect from Settle Down Easy. Unfortunately, they partnered with a disrespectful restaurant owner and our group will continue to drive to the original location until a different restaurant occupies their space.

Hidden gem in Oakton. Great selection of IPAs and great food. Really enjoyed the dumplings and soft pretzel appetizers! Also, really nice people working the bar and the food service.

Tasty and true-to-style beer, just five minutes from our house. We loved the open space too! Happy to see The Fermented Pig has a home, with Casey making some great recommendations. We ordered brisket nachos and BLT slides with FP's famous bacon and finished up with a warmed cinnamon bun, ice cream, and a glass of Le Grand Chocolat.

Great beer and great food. So glad to have a cool place to hang in Oakton. Try the Ghost of Val and the chili.

Excellent brewery, friendly owners and staff, and the Gastropub quality permanent "food truck inside" restaurant with gourmet takes on pub fare is worth the stop. Their standard beers are excellent.. some of their rotators are even better. Have Ben a couple times this month and it's now on the regular rotation!
