At Seu Pizza Illuminati, vibrant flavors collide with a hip ambiance, serving award-winning Neapolitan-style pizzas and creative toppings in a lively setting.
"There was a time when we thought nothing could surpass a bowl of amatriciana. Then we tried the amatriciana pizza at Seu Pizza Illuminati. Its dough, topped with rich, tangy tomato sauce, crispy guanciale, shreds of pecorino, and cracks of black pepper, made us realize we were wrong. Located on the south side of Trastevere, this stylish pizzeria is famous for its creative menu and light dough. Don’t miss their pesto trapanese pizza, with ripe and roasted tomatoes, crunchy almond slivers, and fragrant mix of garlic, basil, and fennel fronds, or the white pizza piled with fior di latte, sausage, and broccoletti. Their fried starters, like supplì and crispy zucchini flowers stuffed with mozzarella and anchovy, are particularly delicious, too." - annie replogle

"Seu Pizza Illuminati specializes in gourmet Neapolitan-style pizza crafted by Pier Daniele Seu and is ranked among the top pizzerias in Italy." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"Cool and minimalist with Saarinen-style furniture and contemporary art, Seu Pizza Illuminati isn't your typical old-school pizzeria. The pies incorporate local products in nontraditional ways; even classics will surpass anything you've ever had. Keep an eye on the antipasti; the fritti and deep-fried tramezzino sandwich are both delicious. It's no surprise that the chef has been winning award after award for his amazing and creative work." - Maresa Manara
"The 4-year-old Illuminati occupies a contemporary space in a 1970s apartment block near the edge of Trastevere, where the decor mirrors the modern approach to pizza embraced by pizzaiolo Pier Daniele Seu and his partner in business and in life Valeria Zuppardo. It’s one of the few places in town where tweezers and piping bags are used to finish pies, but the result is fresh, fun, and not at all precious. The twists on the classics are satisfying, like margherita arrosto featuring roasted tomatoes alongside tangy tomato sauce for a sweet and acidic contrast. Seasonal pies, like the maialino al bosco with porcini and sausage, look and feel more like composed dishes than pizza toppings, but are thoughtful and delicious nonetheless." - Katie Parla
