Gazoz Is the Drink of Modern Turkey | Eater

"A small soda shop operating four locations that focuses on handcrafted, in-house gazoz flavors, offering patrons unique, freshly made sodas rather than mass-market options and helping to revive artisanal approaches to traditional Turkish soda-making." - Joshua Levkowitz

At Sevda Gazozcusu, you will find much more than just the standard plain or lemon sodas; flavors that will spark your imagination await you: Fruit-Infused Delights: Apple from Niğde, apricot from Malatya, and rose from Isparta. Extraordinary Flavors: Coffee, chocolate, mastic, and even ginger-flavored sodas. Nostalgic Brands: Local brands that were legends of a certain era and are now only produced in specific regions. Why Should You Visit? A Journey into Nostalgia: To feel the warmth of the local neighborhood grocery stores from the 80s and 90s. A Collectible Experience: You can pick your favorite soda and soak up the historic atmosphere of Vefa while sitting on the stools in front of the shop. A Unique Gift: You can bring your loved ones a small, colorful bottle of soda that will remind them of their childhood. A little tip: This place is located very close to the famous Vefa Bozacısı. It makes for a perfect itinerary to spend a day visiting the boza shop first, followed by a "refreshing soda break."

I really enjoy different kinds of sodas and i like to try new ones during travels. Sevda Gazozcusu has sodas from different parts of Turkey, all in small 200-250ml glass bottles at inexpensive prices. I discovered this place by sheer luck, and I think it's a must for everyone who likes a sparkling beverage every once in a while.

If you are a lemonade fan, you can find some amazing lemonade here. I came for the leblebi (roasted chickpea)! Put these leblebi in a local drink called boza (sold at the shop in front called Vefa Bozacisi) and enjoy!

Yelp
Sevda Gazozcusu has done a great sevap (sawab in Urdu; mitzvah in New York English) in amalgamating the fantastic and nostalgic regional sodas of the country in one place, right here in Vefa. This little street has become a bit of a destination for the nostalgic of İstanbul - anyone who enjoyed Pamuk's Kafamda bir Tuhaflık will want to sample the boza across the street, and a traditional preparation of helva is available next door as well. In any case, I came here with a very specific purchase in mind, which was nar gazozu (pomegranate soda), produced locally on the Datça peninsula. The Datça brand is more famous for their badem gazozu (almond soda), making use of one of the peninsula's most famous exports, but I find the pomegranate soda to be their tastiest offering. I doubt this soda is available anywhere else outside of Datça other than at Sevda, so props for that. There are other local offerings worth sampling, such as a variety of products made in the city by the Beyoğlu brand.
