Seven and One Books

Beautiful store, really helpful group of people. Was visiting from out of town and would love to return. Loved the books available, the vibe, the artisan gifts.

This is the coziest and most beautiful local bookstore - I love that it has become a hub for local events, a gathering place for the community - a true third space. Tonight, I just came to browse and sit on one of the couches and read a library book, surrounded by hundreds of other books - a dream come true really.

If you love books and pretty details and fun furniture and wooden floors, this is a must stop when you’re in Abilene. Megan was very helpful with inspiring conversation, and her knowledge of books was very impressive. Not only do they have a great collection, but they way in which they books are displayed is so creative, fun, and eye catching. You can grab a cuppa tea while you nestle into a reading spot and enjoy a lounge while you soak in the atmosphere of a bookstore like none other I have visited. Oct 27,2023 I visited again when I had thirty minutes to pop in and read. The owner asked if I would like her to heat the kettle for a cup of tea, and she directed me to a quiet reading chair and brought me my tea. It’s such a lovely place.

Beautiful bookstore with carefully selected pieces. From books, to pens and journals, to art and plants. You’ll find something you like. I’m from out of town but will come back to visit!

One of my favorite places to frequent in Abilene. Lots of seating to allow for community to engage with each other or just curl up with a book and read. They also host great events every month that have introduced me to other local vendors that I otherwise would have not known. The staff is also extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I have never once had a poor experience and always leave with a smile and a good book based off the recommendations of the sellers.

This shop feeds my soul! I love books and the owners have made this space feel like home to all of us book lovers! My son savors every story and beautifully illustrated book in his little collection! I truly believe, experiences choosing books and exploring the shelves at Seven and One is a big part of why our little reader has fallen so in love with books! Last night he even RAN to bed yelling “DRAGON BOY, DADA!!!” Requesting his current nightly favorite! Do yourself a favor and spend some quality time in the shelves of Seven and One with a warm cup of tea. It is such a restorative imaginative place! ♥️

Store was absolutely beautiful! Great assortment, wonderful layout, and super friendly staff. They had a book that my gf had been searching for and I picked up a couple of books as well! Would definitely recommend!

Arlene is an amazing host. She is ready to answer any questions or help you find a book you are looking for. I wasn’t looking for a new book, but I sat down to look one over. 30 minutes and 14 chapters later I bought it with some magnetic bookmarks! Lovely place, such a vibe! I bring all of my reader friends.
