Seven and One Books

This charming bookstore is a reader’s dream! It’s the perfect size — cozy, welcoming, and full of character. They have such a great variety of books, and the staff genuinely love what they do (and they’re amazing at recommendations — seriously, I loved Circe, thank you!). I stopped in today to pick up one of my most anticipated reads and ended up having a great chat about Jasmine Mas and other unhinged & humrous books. Anytime I’m downtown, I have to stop by to see what’s new — and yes, I totally stalk their social media because they’re fantastic about posting their latest arrivals every week. Can’t recommend this place enough. The vibes? Immaculate.

This place is all good vibes for anyone who loves reading! Every time I'm in town, I have to visit, and they treat me amazingly. They really care about their customers and they understand what readers want: pretty books, reading accessories, tea, and peace.

Beautiful store, really helpful group of people. Was visiting from out of town and would love to return. Loved the books available, the vibe, the artisan gifts.

If you love books and pretty details and fun furniture and wooden floors, this is a must stop when you’re in Abilene. Megan was very helpful with inspiring conversation, and her knowledge of books was very impressive. Not only do they have a great collection, but they way in which they books are displayed is so creative, fun, and eye catching. You can grab a cuppa tea while you nestle into a reading spot and enjoy a lounge while you soak in the atmosphere of a bookstore like none other I have visited. Oct 27,2023 I visited again when I had thirty minutes to pop in and read. The owner asked if I would like her to heat the kettle for a cup of tea, and she directed me to a quiet reading chair and brought me my tea. It’s such a lovely place.

Seven and One has the sweetest most understanding staff. I recently got back into reading and like to treat myself to fancy versions of books as a shelf trophy. A few weeks ago a purchased the collectors edition of Quicksilver and when I got home to put my new baby on display I noticed one of the corners was pretty crumpled. I called up there and they told me to bring it back and swapped me for a different copy. The sweet girl took off dust jackets of the few remaining copies and presented me with the best one! Today I had another amazing experience! I got a little mixed up with my preorders and ended up with several versions of the same book from different retailers but saw that seven and one had release party swag available free with the purchase of the book. Since I already had so many copies of the book I didn’t need another one but asked if I could possibly purchase the swag bag. They gave it to me as an exception with the promise to come back later and buy more books! I loved seven and one before but now they will forever be my first stop for new releases!

This shop feeds my soul! I love books and the owners have made this space feel like home to all of us book lovers! My son savors every story and beautifully illustrated book in his little collection! I truly believe, experiences choosing books and exploring the shelves at Seven and One is a big part of why our little reader has fallen so in love with books! Last night he even RAN to bed yelling “DRAGON BOY, DADA!!!” Requesting his current nightly favorite! Do yourself a favor and spend some quality time in the shelves of Seven and One with a warm cup of tea. It is such a restorative imaginative place! ♥️

Such a fantastic bookstore! They have Harry Potter section, plant section, date with a book, and a fun Mary Poppins bookshelf. There are also other book related gifts and plenty of seating. They also do author signings too. Can’t wait to go back!

Seven and One Books is an Abilene gem. The atmosphere is cozy with an abundance of plants and natural light. There are plenty of comfy chairs where you can sit and read from their well-curated selections. They sell beautiful gifts as well. We got a kick out of their Taylor Swift table and enjoyed the Harry Potter's birthday celebration they hosted. I also love that their staff members have each gathered a stack of their favorite books in case you need recommendations. It's a lovely little bookstore!

I was visiting Abilene from out of state and wanted to visit a local bookstore. I am SO glad I chose this one! As soon as we walked in we were greeted and asked if we needed help finding anything. I asked about anything written by local authors and the staff IMMEDIATELY led me around the store to about 5 different options. I chose a couple of those suggestions and a few other books after browsing around myself, including a "blind date" book. I think the blind date book was offered for a great price. The vibe inside was also just very cute and I will definitely come back when I visit again in the future!

I finally received my collector's edition copy of The Perfect Marriage by Jenevah Rose. On her website, it stated that Seven & One Books was supposed to be carrying signed copies so I ordered from them. Super fast shipping since the release date was 11/26 and I got it today- 11/30 but when I received the book, it was not signed :(

Not a local vibe at all. This place is sterile. Feels as authentic as plastic trees. They are faux chic, reeking of pretentiousness. Seek other bookstores.
