The 20 Best Affordable Restaurants in the Inland Empire | Eater LA

"This terrific Chinese noodle and dumpling specialist recently expanded to a new location in Tustin, with plans to potentially open with even more locations across Southern California. But the magic of this Din Tai Fung-lite menu comes from reasonably-priced beef rolls, xiao long bao, and noodle soups whose flavors venture from the beloved Shanghai-Taiwan-style mall restaurant. It’s easy to order through half the menu without realizing that there’s too much food on the table — spicy wontons, tangy cucumber slivers, and pan-fried dumplings. Thankfully, everything travels well back home." - Sean Vukan

Google
They just add their new dish: Garlic butter shrimp noodle. I really love their beef rolls and seven grams. The place is usually very busy, and there's often a line, so I recommend making a reservation or going early if you can. Seating is limited, so if you don’t want to wait, takeout is a good option.

Google
Spicy XLB were not spicy however almost as good as DTF at a much lower price. The noodle type used here was not our favorite, very comparable to spaghetti, but not bad at all. Golden soup broth was a good level of spice, cold chili scallion noodles also could be spicier. The chicken katsu was very good, and the cucumber salad was unanimous best version we’ve had anywhere. Recommend trying this place out.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at the restaurant and will definitely return. Although it was my first visit and I didn't get to try everything on the menu, I'm looking forward to sampling more dishes next time.

Google
Cucumber salad and spicy dumplings are divine. The salad has a refreshing taste and the dumplings were so flavorful with the chili sauce.

Google
Beef rolls are refreshing with green onions , cucumber, mint, and fine cut-up lettuce. Wontons in chili sauce with green scallions and noodles with green and caramelized onions in a sauce were beautiful. All the dumplings were amazing. My daughter had the Beef Noodle Soup. It was great! Cold noodles with a chili oil sauce were eaten by my other daughter, and she loved it! We finished it off with tarot dumplings for dessert, but the ultimate kicker was the custard buns. They are so so DELICIOUS!!!! Customer service was top notch, and your food was served within 10 to 15 minutes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Google
It was good!!! It was not the best dim sum ever ever, but it hits the spot and the flavor is definitely there. It is better than you would expect for what you would get for dim sum at the mall but doesn’t compete with some of my favorites. I would definitely would return for a craving if in the area. Quick and reasonably priced and staff was friendly and helpful🙂👍🏻

Google
Delicious food and wonderful portions for you to try to taste. Wonderful service and I am going back for sure.

Google
Wow. No complaints. We ordered a good amount of dumplings & three soups, I was expecting a longer wait but our food was out working 15-20 minutes maximum. They did get our order confused but made up for it by treating us with something on the house. That’s great customer service. We left with our tummies very full and happy! The only downside was that the place did seem pretty small, so I do feel like depending on the time you arrive it might be a bit harder to get a table. But so worth the wait!

Yelp
Seven Grams is amazing. I went here with my daughter a few months ago, and the food was so good that we have been back seven or more times! I am embarrassed to say that I cannot handle spicy food (I wish I could), and I am able to find multiple items on the menu that I can handle. I will definitely be coming back for more delicious food

Yelp
Located in the outdoor mall so we found parking next to Macy's. There were plenty of parking spots on a Saturday at noon. Clean, but only a few tables inside the restaurant. I think a lot of people order takeouts. Kid friendly. Food and service were good. We got - Xiao long bao (pork) : pretty good. 4/5 (I've only given din tai fung 5 stars.) dough was thin but the flavor was ok - cucumber salad : 4/5 (the cucumber wasn't the freshest but tastes good - spicy chili wonton : 3/5 (dough was a bit thick imo) - beef roll : 5/5 crunchy wrap, sweet sauce, yummy meat, and good texture from the cucumber inside - chicken katsu : 5/5 nicely cooked; juicy inside and thin crusts. I think traditional katsu would go well but they give you sweet and spicy sriracha mayo sauce.

Yelp
A lot of people compare Seven Grams to Din Tai Fung and I feel like that's a stretch. Is Seven Grams good? Yes. But, is it as good as Din Tai Fung? Personally to me, no. For the price and convenience I would dine here again. We don't have many restaurants comparable to Din Tai Fung in the IE so I am glad we have Seven Grams. My mom and I shared the Cucumber Salad, Noodles with Scallion Oil Sauce, XLB, and Potato String Shrimp. Everything was cooked well and had a good flavor to it. The restaurant itself was up-kept nicely, service was quick and friendly, the only downfall is the side of the restaurant is fairly small. So just keep that in mind if you're coming with a huge party!

Yelp
This spot is conveniently located in Victoria Gardens so it's perfect for a quick bite between shopping. We came on a weekday afternoon and still had to wait about 15 minutes due to the small dining area with limited seating, so I can only imagine how busy it gets on the weekends. Although the space is tight, the staff was attentive and efficient. We ordered a shrimp XLB, beef roll, spicy pork paste, noodles and garlic butter, shrimp noodles. The XLB and beef roll were delicious and classic. The noodles had a more unique fusion style that felt a bit out of place next to the traditional dim sum items, but they were still delicious. The beef roll was so good that we ended up ordering another one to go. Prices were relatively affordable compared to other dim sum places. Overall, a solid option for a quick dim sum fix in a convenient location.

Yelp
I didn't realize food prices in San Bernardino County would be so much lower than LA county Service is quick The dumplings were juicy, and the potato wrap shrimp is a must. I'll be eating here again the next time we're doing an Ontario airport pick up.

Yelp
One star off for shop being too small and rough finding parking because it's at Victoria Gardens! I wish they have a bigger space to accommodate more people or better table placements, a lot of people walked out. Food was extremely delicious all around. Fried calamari batter was different than the other ones I've had and I think this is now my favorite. The beef roll was so delicious everything was perfectly on point from the crunchiness to the sweetness. Most importantly, XLB was perfect because the sauce inside squirts out as you bite on it and the skin is not thick! Ah! I can't have enough.

Yelp
Food 3/5 Food Rating: Cucumber Salad 3/5, Seven Grams XLB 3/5, Wontons with Chili Sauce 4/5. The food was not quite my favorite, but I can see how others might enjoy it. Customer Service 5/5 The customer service was great; the staff were attentive and even provided complimentary water. Ambience 4/5 The space is small with limited seating, but it's very clean and has an open, welcoming feel. Cleanliness 5/5 One thing I really noticed is that many restaurants tend to have sticky surfaces, but this place was one of the cleanest I've come across. No sticky residue on the tables or around the sauce bottles. Everything was spotless and felt well-maintained! Wait Time 4/5 There was a bit of a wait for seating, but once we were seated, the food was served fairly quickly. Cost 5/5 I thought the cost was pretty reasonable and affordable .
google avatar

Yelp
Food: The Noodles with Scallion Oil Sauce (5/5) - flavorful, and I added some extra chili oil for a spicier kick, which really brought it up a notch. The Cold Noodles with Chili Oil Dressing (3/5) - didn't have as much flavor as I hoped, so I ended up adding more chili oil to help with that. The Cucumber Salad (4/5) - was fresh and crispy--simple but a decent starter. Pig-Ear Salad with Chili Oil Dressing (4/5) - it had a nice crunch and texture. Service: Service was fast and decent. Got everything pretty quickly without any issues. Ambiance: The place is small but clean and well-designed. It's bright inside and located right in Victoria Gardens mall, which makes it a nice stop if you're in the area.

Yelp
Very quick lunch but it can get crowded. Prices are fair & food comes out quick, the only little issue was the staff not refilling drinks or bringing out food when it's ready as the chef rings the bell right next to us. Overall, flavor & taste was good & we'd revisit if there's not too long of a wait.

Yelp
Seven Grams in located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The inside is a bit small. It fits maybe 20-25 people but only has 4 - 5 tables, one of them being a long family style table for 12. My party came during late lunch and ended up having sitting here awkwardly right next to another party where both parties were forced to listen to each other's conversation. Food - Judging by the previous review I had some higher expectations for this place but it was overall a bit disappointing. Maybe the food quality is just worth its cheaper price point and convenience/fast service. - Beef roll: The first dish to come out. And it came out quickly. Sadly it was a bit cold, but not soggy. - Noodle with Scallion Oil: Probably just the nature of the dish, but tasted bland overall. - Cucumber salad: Tastes much more different than others I've tasted. Has hints of coconut and/or strong flavors of vinegar. - Tomato Prime Beef Noodle Soup: Probably the best tasting out of the dishes that were tried. Service - overall the service was very good. The food came out fast. A bit too fast, but it's probably because there weren't many open orders.

Yelp
7 grams is a cute little Chinese restaurant in Victoria gardens with very yummy food. The pork paste noodles were delicious, tasted of sweet spaghetti with a hint of spice. The spicy wontons were very flavorful with light spice. The beef rolls were good and the cucumber made it taste very fresh. The potato shrimp was okay, I would have liked a pinch of salt to top it off. The soup dumplings were amazing, the dumpling itself held together and was well spiced. The dumplings were filled with juice, a first for me. The staff was quick and so sweet. I appreciated the host for being so gracious and the servers attentive. I had a really nice experience. I recommend this restaurant over Din Tai Fung and the similar restaurants in rancho/ontario.

Yelp
I love din tai fung & thought it was amazing we had something similar in the IE so I went with my friend to this place. The service was great and very fast so no concerns with that. The restaurant is definitely small and very casual so everyone is just grabbing a bite and heading out. The food I will say is a bit bland, I had to use a lot of chilli oil and sauces to add flavor to my food. The menu is fairly small so you're limited on options. My favorite was probably the scallion pancakes those were good but maybe next time I'd skip on the cucumbers. I'm sure there are other places with dumplings in the area with a bigger variety.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Small place with plenty of people filling the tables. I had came here with family since we have been craving xiao long bao. They have various types with crab, pork and crab, and original pork. 6 pieces for $8. The dumplings arrived quickly with sliced ginger and small dipping bowls. The tables had bottles of black vinegar and chili oil to make a small dipping sauce. The xiao long bao was juicy but it tasted sweeter than other restaurants we tried. The dough was thin and had plenty of pork meat inside. The staff is nice and the place is clean and bright. The restroom is clean. They have street parking outside and a parking lot down the street.

Yelp
I've been here several times and it never disappoints. Authentic and delicious food, friendly and attentive service, and a clean and bright atmosphere. The food is pretty affordable with fair prices too. I love this restaurant! A must try if you're in the area.
google avatar

Natania C.

Yelp
The food here is at a really good price. It's very comfort food-esque. I ate here after a very long, sleep-deprived weekend, and it did wonders for my spirits.
google avatar

Leeanna C.

Yelp
Seven Grams is easily one of the best places for dumplings in Rancho Cucamonga. I come early because there are not many seats and even upon opening, a line forms outside. The staff works quick and gets your order in and out to the table. The restaurant is clean and the decor is modern. I go for the dumplings but honestly, I love all the food! It's my favorite place to visit before I begin my shopping at Victoria Gardens.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the closest to DTF that is in this area! I'll take it if I don't want to make the drive to Anaheim, Arcadia, or Costa Mesa. The restaurant is pretty small and can only accommodate like 40 people max. The day my family and I went, we were able to find seating pretty quickly. They have servers who will take your order and bring you your food. We were not sure about who brings the water but the servers eventually brought us water as well. The XLB dumpling orders come with 6 pieces. The flavor isn't as savory but it was well portioned and and very soupy. I asked for extra ginger which they were not stingy about like at Dumpling Master. I enjoyed their scallion pancakes which came out crispy yet doughy. The chili wontons were savory and the perfect amount of spice. The service was polite and courteous. You can watch someone making dumplings on site. The only problem I can see is if you come on a busy day, it'll take a while to get seated and it is at the mall which can get crowded. I'll still definitely come back so I don't have to drive to Arcadia or Orange County. Prices are so reasonable as well.

Yelp
Din tai WHO!? So much better at half the price. Whenever in the area we head to this spot. The xiao long bao, you only get 6 but is $10 less than Din tai, yet they are sooo much better. There spicy wontons, geez they nailed those, perfect amount of sweet and spicy. The cucumber is different in the sense they are more pickled, which I prefer. Wonton soup, very very good, perfect for anyone who wants to feel cozy and savory. The Ambiance is clean and simple, small but never have to wait more than 10 mins for a table. Service is usually good but last time we kept having to wait a bit to get the waiters attention to order and to pay our bill but the food comes out super quick once you order. Great spot for a causal date or solo outing. If you like defrosted dumplings, keep going to dinner tai...

Yelp
Oh my gosh, this place is a hidden gem...this was the best chicken katsu I've ever had. They served it to me right after it got out of the fryer. The crust was crunchy, the meat was so tender, and paired with the sauce it was the best I've ever had. And the beef roll was pretty good, but it was pretty carb-heavy. I'll probably pair the chicken katsu with the dumplings next time. The servers were so courteous and professional. Always coming over asking if I wanted more water and making sure I was taken care of. The ambiance was clean and felt like I was in someone's large dining room. It was nice. The prices were also very reasonable. I think the katsu was $7 and the beef rolls were $11.50.
google avatar

Larae S.

Yelp
I met a colleague here and this place is incredible. The space is right next to the corner bakery within the Victoria Gardens mall. We had a variety of appetizers and food and everything that we had was absolutely amazing. The prices were fairly well priced for the quantity. I will definitely be back and we had great service I am so excited about this place of business.!
google avatar

Justina N.

Yelp
Affordable XLBs is a nice to have in this area. Ordered the Seven Grams XLB and Crab XLB. Both were just okay, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but it satisfied my XLB craving. Service was friendly and quick. The inside of the store is pretty small so I think it'd be much better just to order take out since the food comes out fast anyways.
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
Came here for some dinner after shopping around. When we arrived for early dinner, there wasn't a wait, which is really nice for a table of two. Once we are seated, we decided what you wanted to get an wave down the waiters. We made our orders and waited about 10 to 15 minutes for the first items to come out. This place tasted super great, everything tasted really good and the price was super worth it. Considering this place is kind of like a quick pick up, for rather complex food, I loved it! I will definitely come back to try other items on the menu, but definitely for this deal as well. There's not much seating though, so make sure you come at a good time or get on the Yelp waitlist.
google avatar

Patty L.

Yelp
If you're craving some Din Tai Fung flavors without the high cost, this spot does not disappoint. The location is on the smaller side, so you might encounter a bit of a wait. But you can add yourself on to the waitlist and they'll text you when a seat becomes available. I would say it's more ideal for groups of 2 to 4, given the seating arrangements. The menu here is limited. This makes it easy to zero in on favorites like the spicy XLB or wonton with chili sauce without needing to wade through endless options. Plus, the smaller menu and focused kitchen mean dishes come out quickly, so even if there's a queue, the turnover is pretty fast. Aka not a long wait time. Once you're seated, ordering is efficient, and the food arrives hot. The dumplings are just as tender and flavorful as you'd hope. You're also provided with more chili oil, if youd like. I was not a fan of their spicy pork paste over noodles since, to us, it tasted like raviolis and is also served cold. Also tried the pig ear salad which was okay, maybe with more salt it would have been ideal. Overall, if you're looking for a quick tasty meal, this location captures some essentials.

Yelp
I wanted to fall head over heels for Seven Grams. I had visions of a life-changing dumpling moment. Maybe a few tears. Maybe a slow clap. Alas, no Oscars were awarded today. We ordered like true champions: cucumber salad, XLB dumplings, wontons with chili sauce, scallion pancakes, and garlic butter shrimp noodles. The scallion pancakes and the wontons came to win -- crispy, spicy, happy little pockets of joy. MVPs, no question. The garlic butter shrimp noodles, however, were more like "butter... no shrimp" noodles. I counted three shrimp. THREE. I've seen more shrimp in a toddler's fishing game. And flavor? I'm still searching. Someone get Liam Neeson on it. The cucumber salad was a bit vinegary -- but weirdly, I wasn't mad about it. It was a bold move. Respect. Service was...let's call it "casual." I'm still waiting for the ice for my soda. Final verdict: It was fine. Just fine. If I go again, I will stick to the scallion pancakes and wontons.

Yelp
**best place for dim sum in the area** highlights: - located in victoria gardens, make sure to park in nearby parking structure - you may be able to join remotely via waitlist? if not, come here first to put name down and then walk around until they send text - VERY limited seating, which explains the wait - WAY better than din tai fung - $10 for crab XLB ($22 at DTF) - $9 for chili wontons ($17 at DTF) - dare i say best chili wontons ive ever had? - (4/5) tomato beef noodle soup: i don't even like tomato like that but surprisingly tasty? chef/management if you're reading this, plus replace kale with bok choy or sumn else - $40 for 2 ppl and 3 dishes - affordable and def worth the money; would come back tl;dr come here instead of DTF

Yelp
The ambiance of the restaurant is very cute, small, simple, and clean. The staff is kind. I give three stars because the food was okay. I ordered the Tomato Prime Beef Noodle Soup, it was an okay soup that could have more flavor. My friend ordered the Cold Noodles with Chili Oil Dressing which we both thought was pretty good. We also got the cucumber salad (also just okay) and Seven Grams XLB (we both enjoyed).
google avatar

Tania T.

Yelp
The seating here is very limited. There may be a wait because of the limited table. Thankfully when we came in on a Friday night, there was a table open for us. We were seated immediately. Utensils were already prepared for us. We ordered the pig ear salad, the fried calamari, the seven grams xlb, the beef rolls, and the noodles with scallion oil. The pig ear was crunchy and gelatinous, not too Spicy. The fried calamari were crispy and I love that they use the whole squid, the body and the tentacles too, great pair with the sweet and spicy sauce on the side. The scallion oil noodles is pretty good. The noodle is very firm and chewy, good flavor if you love scallions. The beef rolls were filled with stuffings, very crispy, and very fragrant too. Surprisingly I wasn't really a fan of the xlb itself. Overall it was good food and located inside Victoria Garden so we walked off the food afterward. The portion were decent and price is fair. The restaurant is well lit, and clean. The wait staff is very attentive and will clear out some plates out of the way as you finish the food from the plate. They were really good at topping off water too.
google avatar

Ris L.

Yelp
Came here right at opening (11am) on Sunday. We got seated and ordered food came out promptly. The beef rolls were flaky and crispy, so delicious. The cold chili noodles were pretty bland at first but once the noodles had time to soak the sauce, it was really good with the bean sprouts. And then we got the chili oil wontons and i think thats my favorite dish of the two. We also got the xiao long baos which were great but i think it was the least memorable of our meal. Overall the price was under $40 for two people and we were so full after. This was a great meal. The seating is a little tight as they dont have a lot of tables. But its bright and clean and the kitchen can be seen as well.

Yelp
Simply outstanding Chinese restaurant here in Victoria Garden. Not the most extensive menu, but there's no need to be. Their specialty is their Xiao Long Bao that you can see being freshly assembled. They are absolutely exceptional at a fraction of the price of DTF's XLB, and honestly maybe a little tastier. The meat inside was incredibly tender and the pairing of the rich soup inside with the fresh ginger was delightful. 5/5 Wontons w/ Chili Oil - Another solid pick, not too mind blowing, but yummy meat filling made a great pairing with the chili. 4/5 Golden Prime Rib Noodle Soup - Initially I thought it might have been a Thai Curry adjacent soup, but honestly just average, but maybe that's on me for not knowing the item. It's a vegetable based broth that's relatively light with a heaping portion of kale, along with a sizable amount of thin sliced beef. A little bland for my taste and may forgo this next time. 3/5 Beef Rolls: Man now these were amazing. Love a good Beef Roll, and they're always a good pick but they way they fried these felt like I was biting into some Southern Fried Chicken. The crunch was truly phenomenal and complemented the timeless beef and cilantro filling. 5/5 Not too much seating inside, but extremely pretty and tasteful interior!

Yeran Z.

Yelp
Went with my friend. The restaurant is really cute. The environment is nice. The food is authentic we enjoyed it. But I do think they are a bit overpriced.
google avatar

Leilani M.

Yelp
Bright and airy a beautiful scenery with large windows and lots of light. Not recommended for larger groups unless you're there right when it opens to reserve all the tables. A smaller venue with bar height seating by the window, two four tops, one two top and a community table in the middle. Service was fast and accommodating to our needs. I enjoyed the food. My dad on the other hand was sweating bullets from the raw sliced chilis on top of his soup. Poor pops. For the non spicy friends I would recommend ask for no chilis. For the milder ones definitely chilis on the side to adjust for your taste. Viewing windows are entertaining as they prepare the dumplings, steam rising as the bamboo steamers gently steam these little darlings safe and sound. Metered sidewalk parking right in front or covered and open parking lots a littler further away. Nice spot to enjoy a quick lunch.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy day and the food def hit the spot. Super cute and modern interior with attentive staff which adds to the overall experience. The food was delicious and flavorful. My personal favorite was actually the spicy wontons; I love how they're not fragile and hold their shape as well as the sauce having a lot of umami. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Ate here for dinner at 8 pm on a Thursday night and it was almost completely empty except for one couple. I was craving dim sum and Seven Grams in VG is the absolute closest option for me. Food ordered: Pig ear salad with Chili Oil Dressing ($8 | Pig-ear, Chili Oil Sauce, Cilantro, Parsley) - fairly good amount for 2 people. Love the light flavor of the chili oil dressing! It has a little kick to it. Cucumber Salad ($6) - also love the abundance of this cucumber salad! Light saltiness, sweetness and fresh crispiness. Always a favorite to munch on in between when eating other savory foods. Shrimp XLB (6 pcs, $9.50) - Made with ground pork and shrimp. They're good quality and tastes as soup dumplings should! Dip it in the sauce and slurp it up. No complaints here. Taro XLB (6 pcs, $7.50 | Taro Puree, Purple Yam, Condensed Milk) - This was all for my mom since I'm not a fan of dumpling desserts and she loved it! Wontons with Chili Sauce (6 pcs, $9 |Ground Pork, Chili Sauce, Chopped Peanuts, Green Onion, Chili Thread) - Consistency and filling are good. So savory and delicious! and of course there is a kick too from the chili. The area is clean, modern and inviting. Seating seems a bit minimal with a few regular tables and high table top seats. I also noticed somewhat of a "community" table which can be used for multiple parties or at least a large party. Our server was very nice and attentive. I'm so glad I have access to good XLBs just across the street from me!!

Yelp
Saw this place while looking for something that closes a bit later than most other restaurants. This place is located in Victoria Gardens and isn't too big of a place. The service was great and attentive. The food however was just okay. We got the calamari, spicy xlb, beef rolls, golden prime beef noodle soup, and pig ear with chili oil. The beef noodle soup wasn't very flavorful and they put way too much sour pickles so it really overwhelmed the soup flavor completely. 5.5/10 The fried calamari was quite good 9/10 Spicy xlb was okay 7.5/10 Beef rolls could be better but not bad 7/10 Pig ear tasted as it should taste like

Melanie T.

Yelp
Food here is so delicious! We got the Seven Grams XLB, pig ear salad, garlic butter shrimp noodle and golden prime beef noodle soup. The star for me was the golden prime beef noodle soup which was packed with flavor from the pickled veggie to the spicy from the chili! It was delicious. Portion was generous with the beef! XLB was tasty and juicy, pig ear was standard and garlic butter shrimp was full of garlic flavor! All good. Would come back and prices are reasonable.

Yelp
As you all know I only give reviews after visiting at least 3 times. The service is amazing and love how nice they are. Ambiance is not too big but it is inviting However; you can take the food to go and find a nice spot sit down and enjoy it.

Yelp
Located inside of Victoria Gardens with ample parking spaces. The interior is clean, but pretty small. Limited tables and chairs. We had to put our name down on the waiting list when we got there. It was not that long before we got a table. Service was pretty fast. We placed our orders and it didn't take too long before our orders came out. We ordered pig ear salad with chili oil dressing (pig ear with chili oil, cilantro, and parsley - $8), Crab XLB (ground pork and crab - $10.50 for 6 pieces), Shrimp XLB (ground pork and shrimp - $9.50 for 6 pieces), and Wonton with Chili Sauce (ground pork with chili sauce, chopped peanuts, green onions and chili thread - $9 for 6 pieces) minus chopped peanuts and green onions for our order. As far as drinks goes, we ordered Coke ($2.50) and Arizona green tea ($2.50). Overall, everything we ordered were pretty tasty and I would come back again.
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
Nicely decorated and clean. However, there is very minimal service. Our server didn't greet us or say anything to us. The only thing I heard through the whole time we were there was an "OK." No smile and no emotion either. Another server came and was a bit more courteous. The food looked pretty but taste was mediocre. It's not bad but it's not like wow good. If I had to pick one item that I felt was pretty good from what I ordered that day, it would be the spicy wonton. The price range was pretty good though. Would I come back? Probably not as there are other XLB places that may be better than here, but it's worth a try if you've never had authentic XLB type of food.
google avatar

Eliza Z.

Yelp
Service is fast. The Golden prime beef noodle is so spicy. The beef is shredded and fatty, not meaty at all. The sesame balls are good. Perfectly cooked, not too sweet. Restroom is clean. Price is okay. Overall, the noodles could improve.

Yelp
Food was yummy. Similar concept to din tai fung. However, they have a little bit more on their menu. My friend and I got the cucumber salad, xlb, spicy pork roasted over noodles and wonton with chili sauce. She really liked the wonton with chili sauce. Interior: there are limited tables. Service: we didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive.

Yelp
I feel horrible for not taking any photos of the food that I ordered from seven grams. I was so hungry and this spot honestly fulfilled my cravings for dimsum. If you are looking for affordable but high quality food, I highly recommend Seven Grams. Service: Friendly and efficient. Ambiance: Modern dining and minimal space. Food ordered: Beef rolls Chili oil dumplings Seven Grams XLB

Yelp
This place is still so gooodd!! I recently tried their new garlic shrimp noodle and it is delicious definitely a must get!! You can't go wrong with the beef roll or xlb either!! So good! The service was fast, there was a 30 min wait since the inside is pretty small

Yelp
This place was great! The food was fresh, we had beef roll, noodles with garlic pork paste, cold noodles, chicken dumplings, spring rolls and sesame red bean curd backs... it fed 3 of us and only $53. Service was with a smile-very polite. The ambience was light and airy

Yelp
I ordered GrubHub and wasn't exactly sure what to expect but did expect the XLB dumplings to NOT be steaming hot since 7 Grams is on the East side of Rancho and I happen to reside on the West side. The XLB dumplings were not even warm, but they still tasted and melted in my mouth like a DTF dumpling would. I was too scared to heat them up for fear of losing the juice, so I ate them room temp. I also wasn't sure if the condiments would compare to DTF... you know ginger, chili sauce, vinegar, and soy sauce but everything was included and it was a generous helping ALL much to my pleasant surprise! I doubt I would order them again via delivery app, as I'm sure they'd be 5 stars if I ate them directly upon ordering. So I look forward to trying them again but next time in person. But I'm still giving them 4 stars.

Yelp
Please please keep Chicken Katsu on the menu. Exceptional. Have been here twice this week just for it. Great service too.

Yelp
Been here twice already in a month! It's a small dumpling place in V gardens but is the best one in the area. Love their spicy wontons and XLB. It's a bit pricier since the location but worth it for me.

Yelp
Came last Friday for lunch, plenty of parking spaces and a short walk to the restaurant. Ordered the chicken dumplings, which were delicious! Not too hot and very flavorful. I'm really glad they offer chicken and not only pork! Price was fair and the place is clean and fast. Looking forward to the next time I get it again!

Yelp
Seven Grams, it definitely has nothing to do with where the perfect espresso shot is made out of exactly seven grams of premium coffee. No, but I can tell you that this little spot has a lot of tasty dishes that give you that dopamine that caffeine does. I started off with the pig ear salad and since I'm a fan of cartilage and those fun chewy tendons, this was a hit and the sauce they use! Mmm mmm! Love me some oily chili sauce! Next up was the Seven Grams XLB and the Steamed Chicken Dumplings. Both were on point with taste and that sauce totally elevated the fun sized bites. We also had their Wontons and again with that delicious lip smacking chili sauce. Oh yeah, I can't forget the fried calamari that really tasted good! The kind of flavor you get at the pier or even Ports O'Call. Everything was great as well as the customer service but I can't say every time though but I won't go deep into that. And that's my take on it, Peace out...

Yelp
Party of 2 and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and must mention the cleanliness of this restaurant. It really gives the vibe you are in Japan. The decor and the food were meticulously executed. The servers are very polite and hospitable. Think of a fast food version of Din Tai Fung. Well done Seven Grams!
