"Seven Steakhouse and Sushi reopened on Friday, March 25, in a wildly unexpected comeback from its recent closure. On January 31, Seven abruptly shuttered its Hennepin Avenue location, citing low interest in downtown nightlife, vaccine and mask mandates, and crime, the Star Tribune reported. Co-owners Erick Patterson and Ken Sherman have so far been cagey about their reasons for the reopen — Racket has the breakdown of what’s really going on downtown." - Justine Jones

Mixed emotions about Seven... lots of potential, but unfortunately not a good experience. Picked it for dinner since thet had roof top seating and we were feeling like having some meat for dinner. The outdoor seating was great! Food was good, but the steaks are over priced when you compare to similar spots downtown. I had the porkchops, which were pretty good and a great portion. My wife had the Filet Mignon and Broccolini, which was okay, but was expecting it to be a bit better. We had a couple drinks, which came in plastic cups and much sweeter than they should have been. We tried to order a bottle of Chloe for us to share, but we were told that they were all out of Chloe and the waiter made a recommendation that was double the price (we didn't realize it until we got the bill, but I suppose we should have known better). However, as we were finishing up, one of the other waiters brought out a full bottle of Chloe to a few tables down... our waiter did see me look at it and he looked a bit nervous, but never said anything. I am not sure if it's typical to have the gratuity automatically added to the bill for a table of two, but it was already added to our bill... have NEVER had that happen ANYWHERE! And we go out A LOT. As we always do, we just cut our losses and moved on. The last time we were here was about 10 years ago, and it was a completely different experience. I think it's worth walking past this place and going to other favorites in the area.

The good: great location! We had a spot on the rooftop and the weather was awesome! Food by itself getting 4.5 stars from me! Variety and quality of sushi was good and the lamb chops was to die for! The not so good: service... the hostess was nice and let us sit but after that it was a big ignore and luck if service. We needed to ask a different staff member to call our waitress all the time. I would recommend this place but please take under consideration that you might want to nudge them from time to time. #LKTG

This place is amazing. First floor is the steak house and the sushi restaurant is on the second floor. Sitting by the fireplace at the steak house was cozy. The menu has been rebooted and let me tell you it is amazing. The oysters are to die for. Everything we had was amazing and top notch. If you haven't checked this place out in awhile I highly recommend it. Best dinner I've ever had.

Cute rooftop bar. Not too crowded but definitely busy. Came to celebrate my friend's birthday dinner around 8pm. After ordering our food, our server didn't come back so we were waterless the whole 2 hours there. The food was good and came out at a reasonable time. Personally, I'm not that big of a fan on their sushi rolls. They had way more rice than fish and other ingredients so the flavor was a bit off for me. After finishing our food, we were ready to check out but it did took a while to do so because they didn't have a lot of staff.

We tried the new menu for Labor Day Weekend and absolutely enjoyed every bit of it! Chef Nestor really did a fantastic job! The service was impeccable as always! Shane, Yoom, Jenny and Chef Nestor always take such great care of us. We'll definitely be back.

Got seated right away. Server was super friendly and she was there whenever we had a question or needed anything. Cocktails are great. Food was great. My steak was like butter. I don't have anything bad to say. My experience was great

Nice place and nice location. Surprisingly it wasn’t too crowded. Chic interior decor. We had amazing quality sushi in the downtown of Minneapolis. The staff was really friendly and took time to explain us details about the food.

We had a lovely time. Arrived early, pre concert. Sat us right away. We sat second floor, Nam Nam, as it was too chilly for their amazing roof top bar. Drinks were spot in. Our server, Brasil, was well informed, engaged, helpful and an absolute delight. We had a variety of items. The Fire E sushi was okay, complicated sauce on platter, and the tempura shrimp heated up the rice, so they fell apart, but flavors were fine. The popular crab rice had plenty of delicious crab, but the rice was a tad greasy for me. The brussel sprouts are on the sweet side, but a total winner. Spring rolls veggie and fresh. Tempura shrimp was a tad greasy. Do not pass on dessert, as their unique take on chocolate mousse is pure heaven!! Overall an adventurous night of food. Atmosphere is metro clubbing, comfortable couches and two lovely bars. Must get packed later in the night. Made for singles who mingle. Expensive, but, based on overall experience, worth it.
