Where To Get A G&T And Give Back In LA

"In a back alley in Culver City, Seventy7 have set up outdoor seating that feels slightly hidden and sticks with their general 1920’s theme. Food comes from Rocco’s next door and the space is fairly small, so reservations are advised." - team infatuation

I love the outdoor seating that they set up, and the food was okay.... but the lady in the front was SO RUDE. She always spoke in such a condescending tone and it was just so offensive. When my friend and I arrived, there was no line so we were just waiting outside (near the menu) to be seated. Shortly after, a group of three stands behind us. The rude server comes out and completely ignores us and proceeds to escort the party of three first. The group told her that we were there first, but she dismisses their comment and proceeds to check their ids. Thinking that maybe she didn’t hear it at first, I speak up and tell her that we were there first. Then for the first time that night, she finally looks at me and in such a snobby tone and with a big attitude, tells me that she has to seat the bigger party first. I would have understood if it was a bigger group being seated at a bigger table, but the group of three was seated in a table that was CLEARLY meant for two.. because she pulled a chair from another table and placed it so that it would be sticking out and be an obstacle in the other servers’ paths. Thankfully I didn’t have to deal with her too much as she wasn’t my main server (the other servers are friendly!) but she was rude throughout the night. The food was okay, and except for her, the overall vibes were good… but why would I ever go again to deal with her and her attitude? No thanks.

Google
Walked up to the bar, exchange pleasantries with the bartender, an older white guy. I say, "could I please have three glasses of Saporro?" He says, "Did I ask you for your order? I'll tell you when I'm ready for you. This is an artisinal bar." Yeah, no. I'd been here a couple times. It's a totally average, slightly overpriced cocktail. If they're also going to be rude, I would suggest taking your business to any of the dozen other cocktail bars in this area.

Google
The staff here is top notch! From the bartenders to Donnie, everyone here is quick to serve you a drink and ensure your group is having a good time. Saturday nights they have a DJ and it’s connected to Rocco’s

Google
Heyyyy, this is a nice spot in Culver! I don’t love the Culver bar scene, but this tucked away spot is great. Great bartender, good service, and fantastic DJ and music. Good seating without it being a ton, and it got lively after 10:30pm on a Friday. Good prices too!

Google
Hidden Gem . Only thing is they need to kick up th A/C. Great music

Bim S

Google
This place is THE BEST on Sunday nights. Cozy, great drinks, awesome crowd, amazing and fun live music. Attached to Roccoe's; this place is awesome!!I

Google
Found this place by accident as I was looking for parking. Went on a Friday night before 10pm. Great place for a drink after a long day of work. Not too crowded or loud. Will definitely come back.

Google
great little chill bar - as chill as culver city can be, it seems. good vibes, good bartenders, industry-friendly, and maybe live music if you're lucky.

Yelp
Such an experience And I must thank Donnie He has been such a wealth of knowledge of drinks and preparation.Such a warm and welcoming experience. All thanks to this night I found my new favorite Drink.!

Yelp
The bartender was great and the band was awesome. I love this space! HOWEVER I somehow got roofied and ended up blacking out in the bathroom... when I woke up, the place was closed and the staff was very rude about getting me my credit card back. Its very odd because there were very few people there and I just cant imagine who would have done that. I had two drinks after eating dinner and I was completely "drunk", scary and terrible experience.
google avatar

Debbie G.

Yelp
I came here for my Birthday celebration. It was a great pick since the parking is easy, the drinks are great, they have food, and the music is vibe-y. they have booths and small tables to sit at if you're there early enough.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool speakeasy in culver behind Rocco's. Lot of good music and it was pretty hype, and really hype for Culver. I definitely would recommend people to hang here if they're ever trying to make a night of it in culver. Also, I thought it was funny how the bartenders like to riff with the customers
google avatar

Mahsa S.

Yelp
This "speakeasy" is tucked away in the alleyway behind Rocco's. The inside is cozy with a full bar and lots of lounge seating around the room. They have a DJ some nights and there is room for dancing, although I found that most people were sitting and chatting in groups. The cocktails are about $15/16 and decently priced for a high quality cocktail in this area. My main complaint is just that the music was so loud it felt impossible to hear each other in a conversation. Since it seems like a bar where people sit and chat for the most part, a slightly lowered volume would be nice.
google avatar

Leia H.

Yelp
A cool speakeasy that will definitely make you seem in the know. Live music on certain nights makes the ambience even better. And the drinks are great too.
google avatar

Maruko X.

Yelp
It's a small lounge bar next to public parking garage, and ID will be checked at entrance. The standalone establishment is located in a narrow alley, and there's DJ at night.

Aryamen F.

Yelp
We just put our little food container from the other bar on the table for a moment and the barman trash it away immediately, he was very rude to us. They will never see us again.
google avatar

William C.

Yelp
I was there when those drunk twats came in like Vegas street trash. Loaded AF demanding a table when the bar was closed and treating it like a Jerry Springer episode. The staff here works their asses off making an incredible vibe like Culver has never had. Drinks are on point, HEALTH CODE is top notch and I promise you won't find a more inclusive experience anywhere near here. I love you guys always and won't tolerate the gutter trash putting you down.

Yelp
Cool/ low-key dive bar scene. Good variety of their specialty drinks. I like the new female DJ, that spins on Saturday nights!
google avatar

ryan m.

Yelp
Great hidden dive bar. The bartender was friendly, the space was cool, drinks priced well.

Nat D.

Yelp
small but fun place. There's a dance floor but also seating. The drinks were good & they had a DJ on a Friday night!
google avatar

Tea A.

Yelp
Went there on a Saturday night at 1am and the door was locked. I don't know if they are still operating...

Devin C.

Yelp
Very cute bar! Bartenders are very attentive and nice. I had the calamari fritters with a couple drinks, which was very good. Came out super fast and hot! Live music from a cool band, and clean restrooms. My only concern would be the location. For it to be such a cute spot, if you don't know it's basically in an alley you'll miss it!
google avatar

Rick J.

Yelp
cool little spot that was trying to be a speakeasy at one point. Came in with several friends and ordered some drinks. Absolute garbage low quality drinks even though we asked for top shelf. watch out for switch baiting alcohol. Some of us can tell the difference.

Jen A.

Yelp
Fun spot...DJ was handling his business! Good drinks and wings, pizza was disappointing.
google avatar

Myla M.

Yelp
This is a place where if you don't know where it is, you will never know that it is there...I love that! It's kind of tucked away behind some restaurants. It's not divey, but it's not she-shi. It's a little in the middle. The drinks are awesome, the music is always on point. The DJ satisfies everyone, by playing just a bit of everything. It's the only place that I feel like I am in Hollywood at in Culver City. The bartenders are friendly and make great cocktails. There is a seating area, and the crowd is friendly and really cool. You know how sometimes you go out and everyone has their face buried in their phone and no one pays attention to anyone and you feel like...uh, how are you supposed to connect to anyone? Yeah...this is NOT that place. It's a pretty cool spot. It's on my favorite bar list for sure!

Yelp
We stopped by for ToGo drinks Saturday night after eating at Roccos. The sign said two for $20. Which everywhere else that means, buy two drinks, pay $20. I paid $40. Meaning the drinks were each $20. The sign did not specify this, nor did the bartender, of course until it was time to pay. She handed me two little bottles and I asked about togo cups, and she said, aww did you think they were going to be in cups? Uh well yeah....I was cool about it and still tipped but once I got home, I checked their Instagram and low and behold they have togo cups. I feel like we got duped into paying for the more expensive option. For the price we paid for these mixed drinks, we could've purchased an actual bottle of Makers Mark. The drink was tasty but not worth it.

Yelp
What I like about this place is the vibe and lighting. What I didn't like about the place were the drinks (and that was during happy hour!) I guess this could be a good date spot if you get there right when they open. It's pretty quiet. But after a couple hours, when the crowds start rolling in, it gets loud af.

The A.

Yelp
Jeezusss. Ridiculously unhospitable by the lady in overalls (seems to be the jefe) Walked in. She made us walk out to check our IDs as if she couldn't check it at the bar. Ridiculous! Walked away but the bar keep pulled us back in apologizing. Embarrassing. If not for him we'd have left. Called off our crew to meet up some where else. Peace
google avatar

Lola M.

Yelp
This is a really cool little place right next to the public parking in CC. We just went in for a quick drink and was very happy with our experience. The happy hour is a good deal $7 drinks. I had an Old Fashioned which was really good. It was early so I don't know what the nighttime scene is like, but if you like the lounge feeling of an old school bar, this could be a good place to check out.
google avatar

Tyler C.

Yelp
What a gem in culver! Down an alley and great find for happy hour. I recently attended a birthday party here and had an amazing time. Drink menu with below average LA pricing $7 craft cocktails. I think beers were reasonably priced. Get the truffle fries and a pizza. You won't be disappointed! Also tried the boneless wings, dirty and buffalo... I mean they are wings but they were delicious! Have to give a shout out to the friendly staff here as well... both waiters and bartenders were hustling and smiling. I will be back here for sure. Culver happy hour loop, roccos, Seventy7, honeys kettle?? And public school.

Daniel M.

Yelp
I'm a local, this place used to be cool for a time but it went off the deep end since just before Covid. It seemed to be coming back and it did for a time but it's very inconsistent. I cared about this place cause it's across the street from me and tried to help with feedback and got some shit treatment, So fuck,em. Mind you, I work in marketing and have also worked at bars before. Go to blind barber, it's the same shit and close by. Rush Street is even closer or the Culver Hotel. Many other options.
google avatar

Maricela V.

Yelp
Absolutely loved loved loved the live music last night! We were meeting up with some friends who told us they were at Rocco's. We walked through the bar and didn't see them. Puzzled we walked towards the bathroom and then all of a sudden our friend popped his head out of this random almost hidden door. "In here guys!" I walked through the door and it was like I was transported back in time! Loved the whole feel and decor of this place. I felt like I was in a hidden speakeasy back in the day. Bartender definitely knows what he's doing! Made two perfect whiskey sour and classic gimlet for us. Love! It definitely gets packed once the music starts going. But it's worth it to stick around and check out the great band!
google avatar

Omar G.

Yelp
Came here for an evening gathering around dinner time with some colleagues. Their system turned turned out to be "down" and our initial drink orders were delayed despite the fact that servers were more than capable of writing our orders down by hand. Needless to say, we starved with the lack of the ability to order food throughout the night. Will definitely not be returning.....
google avatar

MC G.

Yelp
Nice, hidden place in DTCC. Feels like you found a secret. Enter through Rocco's or in the alley. I like their happy hour, although they could use more of a food selection. Drinks could also be stronger, but then I find that a problem many places!!! They do have some unusual and creative combinations. It is very loud and hard to hear if any music (live, dj, sometimes recorded) are playing. Otherwise, good place to meet for one of the early dates with someone during happy or weeknight. If you want to be at a club, go on the weekends, if you can get in at all.
google avatar

Yelp
Seventy 7 has the best cocktails created by a stellar mixologist (Stevie). The food is delicious, always a winner and can't go wrong with the Asiago burger or the house seventy 7 pizza. Her customer service is bar none, her old fashioned keeps me coming back to visit her. They have a bit of everything for everyone.

Nicole A.

Yelp
So happy to have made reservations here last night. Cute outside space, delicious drinks, yummy food! If you want a date night here, make a reservation! Lots of people walking by disappointed they couldn't get in!
google avatar

Maria S.

Yelp
Best happy hour spot in Culver City! The pizza is so good. And the cocktails are so well-crafted. Friendly service and a really great atmosphere. Love this spot.
google avatar

Jazmene S.

Yelp
Pre-pandemic this was a great venue to go too especially Sunday nights. If you are are into musicianship you will appreciate this tremendously. The drinks are really good here and the fries are great as well. If you simply enjoy music the atmosphere is great as long as you know how to have fun. It's great for both a solo and group trip. Parking is great depending on the time you come if you come after a certain time you will have to pay for parking. It's normally $3-$5 and Sunday nights use to be free but a $5 entry was being implemented right before the pandemic started. The space is very small but I enjoy how quaint it is but it can get uncomfortable if you don't like crowds. After a certain time during shed sessions you will have a lot people in there and it can be hard to see if you are short. If you come consistently you will find community here and build a music family.
google avatar

Yelp
One star is because I can't pick zero stars. The lady who is running this place is so rude. She turned us away in the same day twice. We had a group of four. We would have been there for hours drinking and eating. Instead she turned down our business. She said we could stay for one drink. Rude. Won't try this place again or recommend it.
google avatar

Malissa P.

Yelp
Lovely cozy atmosphere with nice staff and good drinks. I enjoy coming here and think it's best with a date for intimate fun conversations.
google avatar

Eugene B.

Yelp
I had a great time here. This is only my second visit. It's small but Cozi. We had walked here from Rush Street which got very crowded upstairs...needed a change of pace. The DJ was good. I like the dim lighting. People seem to be friendly and I danced a little. The mojito was excellent. I'd come here again for sure. But for my next outing, I'll hunt for a place that plays post punk...so I can really get down!
google avatar

Gabi J.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick drink while walking around the area. It is a unique little hole in the wall! We got there right at the end of happy hour which lasted until 8pm and got $7 specialty drinks. They were strong and delicious. The lounge has a speak easy vibe with velvet walls and dark lighting. The music is chill and the bartender was really sweet. I went with my boyfriend but I want to go back and bring friends to hang out. The cocktails are usually in the $15 range so that can definitely rack up if you're not careful.
google avatar

Mvp P.

Yelp
Nice place to relax and enjoy with friends!! The bar is nice and got all tapes of beer and liquor
google avatar

Tim O.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I randomly came across this place and thought we'd give it a shot! So so glad we did! The bartender, Steviee, made us some delicious drinks! We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Came in on a chaotic Friday. The host/bartender/server was fantastic. We were accommodated right away even though we didn't have a reservation. It was really nice off in the cut bar with amazing cocktails. Thank you we will be back ASAP!

Antonio M.

Yelp
It's pretty fun here...... nice cocktail list with a big buffet to choose from.... hidden in an alley so it's definitely off the beaten path of your looking for something different.... garlic fries are the item to order food wise.... burger was meh, super soggy under bun... has some potential to be a really good burger if the love and care was there.. Bartenders are nice but sometimes you'll get that "I've been working here forever attitude so whatever I say is right".... kinda thing but it's fine.... all in all a good place to get a drink.... kind of like a bujee dive bar hole in the wall....
google avatar

Shala B.

Yelp
OK so between Mathew and Abraham, my whole life has changed. Ended up coming back here tonight and had the BEST experience! We all kissed and made up and they are awesome!!!! #culvercitybitch Really appreciated how they took the time to find me and turn an issues into a good experience. Shows that they care about their patrons!!!

Yelp
Let's take a walk back... Yup, Seventy7 is reminisce of a time passed The decor is 20s and definitely had a luxurious old school feel. It's tucked behind a alley street and can be a bit difficult to find. Inside there are cushiony chairs that surround the wall. Not too large, but there is good floor space to stand around and chat. Although the drink selections were amazing here, I can't say the same about the service. The one waitress seem very irritated and was definitely a bit on edge last night. The bartender, on the other hand, was very very helpful. I couldn't decided what to get and gave him the instructions of making me something fruity but not too sweet..haha. His solution? The Strawberry Hinny. -muddle mint, strawberries, all mixed together with some form of liquor and served in a chilled copper mug. -this was honestly delicious and very well made. I loved the chunks of strawberries that saturated the entire drink. The mint cut perfectly with the sweetness of the drink and I was indeed happy. A few tips: -they keep your ID when you order a drink with one of those mugs. DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT simply put down your mug . return it back to the bar..or else you won't get your ID back :( -you can request for a table if you speak with the waitress...but maybe call beforehand to see if there are reservations available. I dont know if I would go out of my way to come back here...but definitely would be a nice drink spot to take a friend just to relax and catch up.

Yelp
This is one of my absolute favorite bars to go to!! It seems like every time I'm in Culver City they are open, and I love that! My favorite parts of Seventy7 are the ambiance, service and the music. Specially, on Friday night's the music is great! It's a mix of old school hip hop and newer music which creates a fun, youthful, old school atmosphere. If you are ever in Culver and want to go to a chill, late night spot, this is the place!
google avatar

Arya B.

Yelp
I had a blast at Seventy7 with my coworkers for happy hour! The drinks were really great, and the happy hour food was so fun to share with everyone! My berry nude drink wasn't on the happy hour, but it was so artistically done! Would definitely go again :)
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
Love this place! The cocktails are amazing and gorgeous! Also, their outdoor set up for covid is super cute. If you're in Culver definitely stop in for a cocktail, it's worth it. Reservations recommended though because they fill up quickly.
google avatar

James T.

Yelp
Seventy7 Lounge is pretty fun! It's a tucked away "hidden" bar (see also speakeasy bar) with a lively atmosphere inside, complete with good music, a packed dance floor, and a very hearty bearded bartender who will make sure you're very liquored up if you so desire. The size is small, and they share a bathroom with a restaurant that typically closes up before the bar opens up. Nothing else really to say about this bar except it's a good time if you want a small, intimate feeling with some good friends (or you know the bartender) - drop by! It's in the alley between some buildings (definitely not shady/murder-esque). Ha!
google avatar

Shirra P.

Yelp
This place is a sweet spot in the alley of Culver City. Reminds me of a speakeasy. Very tiny place. Has a semi ok DJ. The crowd is fun. The front door guy Ian, is friendly and welcomes you into the establishment. It's hard to get a drink b/c of the crowds and how small the joint is however, once you do, you ease into the evening. My recommendation would be to start or end the evening here. Parking is easy, for the structure is right next door.
google avatar

Lucia C.

Yelp
This is an update of my previous review for Seventy 7. I've been there many times since my first visit, and I feel that just have to give this bar 5 stars. It's a fun spot that never fails! Regardless of the day of the week or the number of people in your party. Seventy 7 is just an awesome bar!
google avatar

Peijean T.

Yelp
Seventy7 is the so-called hidden speakeasy bar in downtown Culver that's very obvious to find. How? It is always so loud you can't miss it! I have been here four times in the last few months and only one of those times did we stay as it was too loud and boisterous the other times. They often have live music or just recorded music that's turned way up. To get here you can go through Rocco's on Main Street (not to be confused with LaRocco's two doors down), or just through the back entrance through an alley near Cardiff. The one time I did stay we got in just before a crowd and so somehow scored a sweet padded seat while everyone else was standing around us. The cocktails were clever and strong, so I definitely recommend just having one...preferably as a nightcap.
google avatar

Paulina M.

Yelp
Came here after having horrible service at Rocco's & this place was just has horrible. We had been here before in the past, but now it has all new rules to the menu. Stevie is rude and honestly we just got up and left. She acted like she didn't want to make drinks, and I just felt like she didn't want to be at work. I'm so over bad customer especially since we are in a pandemic. You would think people would be much nicer. Her attitude is horrible, and I will never come back.

Yelp
I LOVE this hidden gem! Been coming here for over 7 years. Feels like a little hide-a-way in the middle of the city. Not only do they play throw back jams, all night dancing and the drinks are AMAZING! If you like real craft cocktails that are easy to sip on..look no further! Austin has been crafting up his own cocktails for years from Santa Barbara to Culver City. You will want to stop by and check out the ever changing menu he creates. The food is amazing too! Start here for some drinks and food and stay all night. The dark cozy decor makes you feel like a speak easy in New York. The crowd is always classy and full of fun. Tell Austin what you like and he can always make you the perfect cocktail. He puts his heart and soul in every drink-no matter how simple or complex! A MUST see place.
