Google
There wasn't much flavor, but the pupusa ingredients seemed fine. Green pepper and the shredded chicken pupusa were my order. Was lacking some flavor and slaw and sauces were just below average.

Chris S

Google
Never had a pupusa before trying this place via food delivery service. I got 4 various pupusas and the slaw. Both were absolutely amazing. Good prices too. Whatever they put in the sauce/salsa was ridiculously good with the pupusas. Will be back and will recommend to others. Hidden gem all the way.

Google
Been coming here for 5 years (not frequently enough). The food is always amazing and I feel they have better ingredients and taste than the other pupuserias in my area. It’s worth the drive. Same owners since I started coming here and the place is roomy with six tables inside. I understand why they have bars on the windows but it doesn’t seem so friendly appearing to some.

Google
Absolutely LOVE this place The pupusas were chef’s kiss! It’s fresh, cheesy, and full of flavor. The curtido had just the right amount of tang, and the horchata? So creamy, not overly sweet, just how it should be. You can tell everything’s made with love. The service was super friendly and made me feel right at home like I was eating at a family member’s house. Definitely coming back to try more if you haven’t been here yet, you’re seriously missing out on some of the best Salvadorian food around. 💯🇸🇻

Google
Incredible food!!! Reasonable prices. Kids love coming here and so do I. This place is incredible in so many ways—food that'll knock your socks off because it's all packed with so much flavor, the selection of menu items is enough to keep it interesting but won't overwhelm, and everything is clean and all the employees are happy and smiling. 😁 This is the best pupuseria in Phoenix! 👍😉 But also try out the El Salvadorian tamales. Those are tasty. 😋😘

Google
Saw them mentioned on a top 100 list of restaurants of 2023 and i had to come check them out after going someplace else and having mediocre pupusas. These were great and though they aren't close, they're definitely worth the bit of a drive to get delicious pupusas. I don't eat pupusas often but when I do, I'll be going here. Staff were nice and friendly.

Google
Review for Seydi’s Pupuseria & Grill Seydi’s Pupuseria & Grill is a hidden gem serving truly authentic Salvadoran flavors. The pupusas are perfectly made—crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy inside, just like they should be. The curtido and salsa add the perfect kick. Everything tastes homemade, and you can tell it’s made with care. The prices are super reasonable—great portions without breaking the bank. Whether you're trying Salvadoran food for the first time or grew up on it, Seydi’s delivers the real deal.👏

Google
We ate here for my wife's birthday. You see them making everything fresh from the tables, and the food and jamaica is great. I will definitely try to come back.

Yelp
Driving down from the Grand Canyon and we find these amazing reviews so we must stop. Not the most aesthetically pleasing place but clean and their food is good!!! Why the 4 stars? The price. Now I thought NY was expensive but the pupusas were 4.25 each! The soup $20. Now the pupusas are really stuffed so worth the price but dang! Overall I do recommend, it's worth the price, I'd come again but wallets beware. Is this normal pricing for AZ?

Yelp
This place is right near where I work and I was not disappointed. The food was so good. I don't think I've had El Salvadoran food before so I can say this was an amazing first meal to try. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try pupusas for a long time and I found an old article from the New Times talking about Seydi's! So delicious! The kids and I ordered a half dozen so we each got 2. The carne asada, shrimp and cheese, bean with cheese, pork bean with cheese one, and 2 chicken. I love the pickled slaw and the sauce, great balance of flavors with the pupusas. Definitely will go back and I most certainly will recommend this place!

Yelp
I have been wanting to come here since I moved to the area last year and finally went here today! There's only one other pupusa restaurant I've been to and I loved it so I was super excited to try this place! I got 3 pupusas, spinach and cheese, zucchini and cheese, and jalepeno and cheese. I also got a side of the pico de gallo, rice, and beans. The pupusas also come with hot sauce and a vinegary cabbage slaw. I loved how fresh the food was. The pupusas were perfectly crisp on the outside and gooey and cheesy on the inside. They were super filling I definitely only needed two but now I have leftovers! Very flavorful food too. Would totally come here again and will be recommending it!

Yelp
First time here and first time tasting Salvadoran Food. Have heard about pupusa's which look like stuffed corn (masa) pancakes. There were other food choices but opted for the steak and cheese pupusa and spinich and cheese pupusa. They were served with small containers of cole slaw and salsa. First bite of the steak pupusa had grizzle, however, that sometimes may happen. I liked the spinich and cheese pupusa. They are quite filling. Doused both with hot sauce. The Salvadoran cole slaw is quite different. It is slightly fermented with lime and spices. I don't really have any bench marks for comparing Salvadoran Food or this restaurant. Service was good, place is clean. I will be back to try other selections.

Yelp
I always get the number 12, the carne asada plate and 2 pupusas. It's so friggin good!
google avatar

Blanka N.

Yelp
This place is by far the best pupusas I've had that weren't made at my auntie's place. The service is very professional, prompt and courteous. Very clean and great vibe! I recommend it to everyone looking to enjoy Salvadorian food

Yelp
What a great place to stop for lunch or breakfast or anytime you crave a pupusa - a round tender disc of corn cake with your choice of fillings. Filling, fit for vegetarians or meat lovers or a mix of both. We don't live nearby, but my family of 5 still plans to stop by any time we're in the area. This was perfect lunch for my 80 year old mom all the way to my 20 something 6'3" hungry soon who is gluten intolerant. And for me - a bargain to boot! Happily enjoyed the side 'slaw' that adds just the right bite to a comforting and homemade meal. We ate every delicious bite and can't wait to eat more.
google avatar

Jen M.

Yelp
Delicious pupusas! I ordered a dozen mixed for a group of friends and they all loved them. They weren't greasy or dry, they were just right. They were ready in about 20 minutes and the service was good.
google avatar

Liza W.

Yelp
This place is phenomenal! Their Pupusas are made to order and the salad you put on top are amazingly fresh and made to serve! My sister and I use this place as an out of the way "halfway" meeting point . The service is great and the restaurant is really clean. I've only had their Pupusas here and I highly recommend. Downfall? They don't have a soda machine. It's cans and bottles only.

Rocio P.

Yelp
Customer service the worst.. food ok not impressed The owner was arguing with his employee in front of customers, very unprofessional.
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
Delicious!! Came here after having driven by this place unknowingly for years. And it is awesome. We ate the half a dozen pupusas and my 3 1/2 year old even ate 1.5 What is there not to love if you have cheese and more cheese :-) all is Made fresh to order, so you got to pack a little bit of patience. The restaurant is definitely a great family run spot. Only point to improve is that the cutlery and plates are typical South American throw away. We will be back, next tile possibly for take out.
google avatar

Sue H.

Yelp
Two carne asada pupusas with slaw and a hibiscus tea. Simply gooey, cheesy and deliciously filling. Couldn't stop eating, no leftovers! Friendly patient staff, consistent quality from visit to visit. A neighborhood gem.

Lori B.

Yelp
I have to say I was excited to be trying a new papusas place. I grabbed 2 revueltas and 2 chicken tamales. I understand that the tamales are a little more moist than the Mexican version. However, as seen in the pic these are absolute mush. So sad. Flavor is just okay.
google avatar

Kelly V.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow. Best pupusas in town, in my opinion. We got it delivered (it's about 20 minutes from me) and it was somehow still pipin' hot when it got to us. They also sorted meat and veggie pupusas into different containers - THANK YOU! Fried yucca was delicious also. Lunch leftovers were amazing and I might have it again for dinner.

EmiCar H.

Yelp
The place was empty when I went in the early afternoon, which normally scares me. but these Pupusas are amazing! Worth the wait too!

Yelp
Pupusa Please Located in a strip-mall in north Phoenix, Seydi's Pupuseria & Grill serves traditional home-made Salvadorian food. Seydi's has everything from pupusas (12 varations), steaks, fried yucca, banana-leaf-wrapped tamales, curtido (lightly fermented cabbage slaw with red chilies and vinegar), rice and beans. The restraunt is very clean in a well laid out space. As we entered the Restraunt we were greeted very pleasantly by the staff. My lunch companion and I both ordered the pork, bean, and cheese pupusa, rice, and curtido lunch. The pupusa's were hot, thick, chewy, doughy, brown-burned discs stuffed with meat and cheese and griddled to give them a nice leopard-print char, and these pupusa's were delicious. The pupusa's take time to get to the table -- but be patient, it's worth the wait. If you ever find yourself in the area give this place a try you won't be disappointed and I forgot to mention the prices at Seydi's are extremely reasonable.

Yelp
I'm up to try anything once and am so happy I tried Salvadorian food. The food was Mexican-like but a little better in my opinion. We ordered the classic pupusa. My favorite was the "cheese only" pupusa. The highlight of the meal was the plantain. I have no idea what was inside of it but it tasted amazing. I will definitely be back soon as this is a great place to grab lunch during the week

Silvana M.

Yelp
Seydi is the spot! I was born in El Salvador and I can confirm this is as close as it gets! The pupusas a big and super delicious! The service is always great and everyone is so nice. I had the chance to chat with the owner and he told me he named the restaurant after his mom Seydi and she was lovely enough to share her recipes. I met Seydi like 10 years ago when she used to come to my office and she would sell me a dozen pupusas that she would make at her house, kinda like a side hustle. I'm so happy to see them having a restaurant. The pupusas revueltas are the best! Don't sleep on this place!

Lizeth S.

Yelp
My husband and I had the pupusas, platanos and chicharrones. We thought all the food was amazing. We would definitely visit again.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent authentic food!! Great customer. I'll will definitely bring my family back often!

Yelp
This place is amazing . They always serve fresh food. I can never get enough. They have great customer service- super friendly and attentive. Fare is light and fresh. Clean dining area and restrooms, great experience. Come try them out, totally worth it! I like the pupusas but today I got some kind of steak and rice, platano, cheese, etc. plate. It's so yummy .
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
Delicious pupusas in AZ! I can't speak for the dine in experience since I did take out but the food was excellent. I didn't have to wait too long for my food, ~10-15 mins. They were kind and friendly. Would come back!
google avatar

Nick F.

Yelp
Never had Salvadoran food before. I'm going to be regular now. The beef stew and the chicken soup absolutely phenomenal. Pupusas are delicious. The Chicharrón and cheese was my favorite. I had a steak that was fantastic but I can't remember what it was called on the menu.

Yelp
Seydi's Pupuseria & Grill is a casual order at the counter Salvandorian Restaurant that specializes in the pupusa (stuffed flatbread cheese/vegetable and cheese/meat). They are located in a strip mall in North Phoenix. They also offer Salvadorian style breakfast (tamale, rice, beans, plantains, eggs, burritos), appetizers, combination plates and around a dozen kinds of pupusas. The food is mostly fresh prepared to order so it takes around 15 minutes or more for your order. We ordered, paid and sat ourselves and in about 15 minutes we had two enormous plates to share. We started with steak with two pupusas.....The pupusas were OUTRAGEOUSLY CRAZY CRAZY GOOD! and were also much larger than we were expecting. They are like a super great grilled cheese sandwich but much tastier. They are basically masa pancakes with cheesy crisp ends and are filled with LOTS of yummy melty mild cheese and whatever filling you pick. We picked the wildflower and the jalapeño.....(both were really good but GET THE JALAPEÑO!). They give you a very sharp tasting but also spicy slaw and really flavorful chili sauce to dress things up. The steak was a little chewy but we really loved the pupusas. ($9.50) The other plate we shared was the fried tilapia ($11.99) It was a WHOLE fried fish and was so tender and flaky. The meat just fell off the bones. It came with tasty studded rice, a fried jalapeño, flavorful beans and tasty hand made corn tortillas. The person that took our order was friendly and checked on us too. What a treat! This is a place that you would want to try!

Adam S.

Yelp
I've been coming here multiple times and realistically any time I'm driving through the area I try to stop. We now live 20-30 minutes away and while there are other, closer pupuserias, I'm a loyal customer. Keep up the delicious !!
google avatar

Yelp
I can't believe I didn't do a review for Seydi's yet (I think I must've left a review on a 'not the official Yelp page' right after they opened, maybe?) Seydi's is a great place! I've tried several of the pupusas, and my favorite is the Revuelta (pork, bean and cheese) smothered in the hotter salsa - tasty, filling, hits the spot, and a great value! My wife likes the Espinaca con Queso (spinach and cheese) and the Loroco con Queso (wildflower and cheese). Finish off with a shared order of Empanada de Platano for dessert! If you want something a little more than just pupusas, try the Carne Asada y Dos Pupusa. It was great, too! :-) Jose is a great guy, as is everyone else I've interacted with there. Great food. Great prices. Great people.

Yelp
Good!Good!Good, food. Very authentic & fresh.Love the beans & rice lots of flavor, the chicken soup has chunks of carrots, potatoes, celery & whole pieces of chicken its incredible with the freshly homemade thick tortillas & a side of avocado. Portions are plentiful. Great menu selection. Plenty of indoor seating available & orders to-go can be placed. Everything was clean including the restrooms. Parking is plentiful too. It's located in a shopping center that has lots of other little businesses like tattoo shop,hair/barber salon, precious stone store, cellular repair, thrift store, ect...so there's other shopping in the center.Service was pleasant & friendly. I'll definitely go again to try a few other items on the menu.

Yelp
Magnificent examples of what Pupusas can and should be, not to mention their other offerings being exceptional. Craving good Salvadoran food for quite a while we took a plunge up town where recently the AZ Republic A&E section made mention of them, and you may want to check Phoenix Magazine's Nikki Buchannan's write up on Seydi's! This inconspicuous café in a run-of-the-mill strip mall does not do justice to the incredible cooking served in this counter service, indoor seating establishment with modest décor, run by the Mother and Son team of Seydi and Jose Flores that gives you the best Salvadoran eats anywhere in the Valley. We went all out to sample a variety and were satisfied with every bite! We went for starters with Platanos fritos (plantains) con Crema (cream) y Frijol (a black bean sauce); and for our mains enjoyed the Yuca (Cassava) con Chicharron (crispy fried yet tender pork chunks) served with Repollo (cabbage) and Salsa; not to mention Pupusas - and we took home 4 Pupusas Revueltas (a mixture of different meats stuffed into these great traditional meat pies); I also had the best Salvadoran Carne Guisada (beef stew) with arroz y ensalada I've had in years. Seydi, we hope you and your son continued success, we know everyone who comes to savor your meals will definitely feel the love, not to mention the flavors of El Salvador. Buen provecho everyone!

Yelp
Had the breakfast carne asada with eggs along with two papusas. The papusas (one pork, one chicken) were very good, warm and fluffy. The eggs were just about perfect and the home fries were good. The steak, as carne asada teens to be, was a bit over and tough, didn't knock a point for it as everything else was very good as was the staff.

Michael W.

Yelp
This is my 2 cents for the jack a$$ RICIO A that decided to leave that 1 star below...This establishment hasn't had a 1 star review until you came along. So you pop in at 2:30 and ordered lunch. This guy takes your order and makes your papusa's fresh to order along with your plantain's, and you have the nerve to complain about that? You can't comprehend how that can take some time cause of the cooking process? If your gonna complain....Then, take your sloppy joe eating a$$ and stay home and don't waste their time serving trash like you! People are so impatient and entitled, don't be like that prick Ricio.
google avatar

Hugo C.

Yelp
Panes con pollo are delicious. They have chorizos which are my wife fav. Pupusas remind me like the ones from my abuelita. La comida está rica y lo mejor de todo son los dueños. Personas muy amables

Ximena V.

Yelp
The pupusas here are phenomenal! My mom liked the asada ones and I loved the loroco ones. They're made to order and the wait wasn't long at all. The location is clean and the prices are super fair. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Martina A.

Yelp
We ordered a while back but we all loved it. We ordered platanos fritos con crema y frijoles, chicharron, frijoles con queso and espinacas con queso papusas. Every thing was incredible.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
I woke up in pupusaville. No I don't want to go home. Get the revueltas. Probably get a dozen or two. Share them with your family and friends. Share them with random people. Share them with the homeless people. It's pretty simple. Just dip it in the red sauce. Put it in your mouth. Sit back. Enjoy. Welcome to pupusa paradise.
google avatar

Norm R.

Yelp
The spacious eatery has friendly counter service and quite a selection of Salvadoran favorites. On my first visit I tried the plato tipico: grilled beef, platano frito, Salvadoran sausage, a small block of cuajada (a soft spongy cheese), rice and beans, with sides of avocado, salad. What a flavorful treat it was, and so filling. I came back the next day to try some pupusas - this is a pupuseria after all. I ordered three: revueltas, camaron, and jalapeno - all very good, and bigger than I had expected; I ate half of each and brought the other halves home for a meal for the next day. The dining experience in this place is pleasant and the prices are good. So if you want a real treat for your taste buds and you happen to be in north Phoenix or don't mind the drive to that area, then do yourself a favor and try out this place!
google avatar

Brianna S.

Yelp
Fantastic Papusas! Some places aren't as cheesy but these are! I wish they did offer a larger portion of the rice since I believe they do only sell single servings which is fair. None the less, love it here!!! Always order from here for our friends and family. As for service I have never had any issues. We usually order over the phone and pick up and it's always easy and delicious.
google avatar

Michael J.

Yelp
Ordered one pollo and one asada papusa and they were both great! Went well with the accompanying salsa.
google avatar

Marissa L.

Yelp
We absolutely love coming here. It's a quiet, clean and accommodating space. The cashier who takes your order is so nice and makes great recommendations. I'd eat here every night if I could! I've worked in the restaurant industry for over 9 years and a foodie my whole life, this is one place that I'd always recommend.
google avatar

Brenda H.

Yelp
We are in PHX for a soccer tourney and we like to check out places locals love. Well this place did not disappoint!! I ordered the frijoles and queso and my daughter ordered pollo con queso. Oh so good!!!! Delicious and food was ready in 10-15 minutes. If you're in the area, you need to stop here. Nothing like having good authentic pupusas.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
The best pupusas we have had, not greasy and lots of flavor. Saw the fried fish and can't wait to try it, it looks amazing and many friends have loved it

Jane H.

Yelp
Friendly staff, clean, delicious variety of generous pupusas. Our faves were bean, pork, and jalapeno. The slaw was okay, but I'd love a steady supply of the salsas. Been back since and still yummy.
google avatar

Justyna G.

Yelp
These pupusas are bomb! Seriously there flavor is perfect. We personally love the jalapeño & cheese one! I would say their prices are fair as well. Seriously, try it! I'm glad I was introduced to pupusas.

Dulcie C.

Yelp
Friendly customer service. Casual dinning, family friendly, authentic Salvadoran restaurant. The wait time can be long during a busy night but the pupusas are good. Their filling to masa ratio is good too.
google avatar

Mary K.

Yelp
So yummy and how wonderful to have Salvador food right here in Phoenix! Just did take out with the pandemic going on. But it's a symboled Resterant with unique entrées.
google avatar

Nick B.

Yelp
Anytime I find a nice pupuseria in my wandering I have to check them out. In this case I got to introduce my gf to them. She is now a fan too. Great deal and great quality if you are in the mood for these stuffed pancake type of Salvadoran food.
google avatar

Ben R.

Yelp
Amazing pupusas Friendly staff Really great pricing This is the kind of business I love to support. The food is top notch and we were so happy we stopped in. We had the steak and cheese, pork bean and cheese, and pork pupusas and they were all awesome. We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic food, this is definitely the place to go. Most restaurants pride themselves on being a good, home cooked meal but this place actually delivers. I started eating Seydi's food when she had a stand on Saturday mornings, and now her and her son have their own restaurant with a variety of options. They offer all kinds of meals, for any time of the day. The pupusas are amazing! The pastelitos, also incredible. Definitely my favorite Salvadorean restaurant, by far. They have so many options! A little bit of everything for everyone. This place offers a family run, family friendly environment with reasonably priced food. If you're looking for a new place to get some great food, this is definitely the place to go.
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
This place is absolutely out of control delicious. I can't wait to go back but I'm already fat enough.
google avatar

Abby M.

Yelp
This place is awesome! A great mix of healthier options and hearty delicious Salvadoran food. I came for pickup, and I must say... I don't think I've ever been in a cleaner restaurant. I couldn't believe how spotless it was and how clean it smelled (which, me in the middle of laying floors at my new home was the opposite). I love that they do breakfast all day. I highly recommend!
