Google
We came from Roseville CA, to celebrate my son's bday . He wanted Vietnamese food. We googled a highly rated restaurant in Nevada. Wow it did not disappoint. Immediately energy we walked in . We were met with an amazing scent of delicious food. . The restrooms were extremely clean! And well stocked. The staff was the best Both people that welcomed us were extremely Nice and were very welcoming and polite. Never ever felt rushed . They suggested some good stuff. We had some calamari,I had a bbq noodle bowl and my sweet boy had a big delicious bowl of pho. everything was delicious! We arrived at a great time because it was getting very busy . But not overwhelming.. awesome place for Vietnamese food

Google
Place small but cozy. Can be pack during eating time. Foods was great. Has both Vietnamese and Chinese foods. Price can be steep, little high for some items.

Google
This place is absolutely amazing. Broth is so delicious and authentic. The charsu pork pho with egg noodles was fire. A must try for sure.

Google
Family owned authentic Vietnamese restaurant. They have a very tasty.bun bo hue. I am from New York and I have not found a restaurant that can make a tastier BBH than SF can. We also ordered Pho and shrimp . All their food was very tasty and flavorful. One thing for sure they don’t skimp on ingredients like most restaurants do. Their soup broth is rich. I will definitely come back if I’m in the area ! A must try if you are craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

Google
Food was tasty and fair. Only issue - IDK if they are understaffed or not but on a sat night they took forever getting our food. Waited at least an hour after ordering for everyone to get their food. I get waiting for 30 minutes or so but sitting around hungry for an hour isn't the best experience.

Google
The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. The service was fast and friendly. The Mongolian beef was tender and had just the right amount of spice. The egg drop soup was absolutely delicious and the potstickers were also super good.

Nat Han

Google
Food was amazing! Service was good. Everything we ate was mouthwatering deliciousness. Can’t wait to go back.

Angelica Morales

Google
Please, ask for Angela, the best waitress ever. She’s always ready to suggest new dishes. She mentions the ingredients and describes flavors perfectly. The food is fresh and the servings are always super neat and perfect. All the staff is super welcoming. The place is small and it’s always packed around lunch but who cares when the food is great?

Yelp
Came to Reno for the weekend and were craving pho. After seeing the great reviews, we decided to give this place a try--and we're so glad we did! We ordered the rare beef & flank pho, the flank steak & oxtail pho, and my mom had the sweet & sour pork with pork fried rice, pot stickers, and egg flower soup. Everything was delicious--the pho broth was rich and flavorful, and the Chinese dishes were just as tasty. They easily accommodated our party of 10, the service was fast, and the atmosphere was family-friendly. We've found our new favorite spot in Reno and will definitely be back!

Yelp
This was the first time we have eaten here. It was wonderful! The employees are very friendly and the food was wonderful! I would certainly like to return.

Yelp
A great find! My friend and I were out antiquing, and found ourselves suddenly very hungry for Pho. Did a Yelp search, and SF Kitchen came up, but neither of us knew about this place. It was on Tuesday close to 1 PM, and the place was really busy. Good sign. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant is clean and cozy. Also a good sign. We ordered two different kind of Pho, and they were excellent! Great broth, plentiful noodles, and meat. Fresh veggies. The person who served us told us that it's always this busy at lunch time. So wonderful to hear! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
I orders food to-go and everything was absolutely delicious! I especially enjoyed the potstickers and rare steak pho. Can't wait to go back again!!

Yelp
The location is easy to find and the actual space itself is very cute and cozy and comfortable. I was greeted by a very kind and attentive lady with a warm smile and she checked in multiple times to make sure everything was to my liking. I ordered the Rare Steak Pho and at 16.50 a bowl it is well worth it, the amount of food I got easily filled me for the rest of the day. The broth is flavorful and hot like it's freshly made. Even on a hot summer day like today it was so appetizing and surprisingly refreshing when I was finished. If you're having second thoughts about this place I hope my review convinces you otherwise.

Yelp
Solid place for Viet foodfare. Good pho, Vermicilli and bbq pork/beef. Convenient location (for me anyway). Clean establishment and food came out fast. Not perfect 5 stars as while good it is also not exceptional. The pricing is on the slightly high side.

Yelp
Not a Reno local, so my expectations were pretty low for Pho in Reno; however SF Kitchen's pho was actually pretty good! Ordered #1 beef pho and shared a spring roll and egg rolls with my party. Beef Pho - For Reno I thought this was a solid 5/5, but maybe if I was in SoCal this would have been 4/5, so still good none the less. The broth had a good amount of spices, and meat portions were generous. Egg Rolls - I loved the filling of the egg rolls, a bit overcooked but not too bad. The filling had a good amount of meat and veggies. Spring Rolls - a bit boring, but nothing terrible compared to what I would get in SoCal. Overall I would rate the beef pho at SF Kitchen pretty good!

Yelp
It may not look the best from the outside, but the inside is absolutely amazing totally clean. Everyone is friendly. Food was beyond delicious. We will be going back.

Yelp
My friend and I were looking up restaurants to eat at after a day at Northstar, and came across SF Kitchen, one of the only Vietnamese/Chinese places in the area. It's quite unassuming, and looks a bit plain on the inside, but the food is great! The extra large size of their pho bowls has a ton of noodles and meat, and taste exactly as you would like it to be. The servers were nice and informative, and if you're craving some pho, it's a spot to consider!

Yelp
First time here. Today is Friday at 12:30. Lots of parking. The restaurant is large and clean. Lots of customers so this is a good sign! I had the General Chicken lunch special that come with Fried Rice and a cup of house soup. My Brother in-law had Lemon Chicken lunch special, and my wife had Chow fun noodles with Chicken in a br The food was served fairly gas and was delicious. I bookmarked this place and we will definitely return on an

Yelp
I have had this place on my list for years, but it didn't deliver. The ambiance is quaint, and the service is slow at best, but the food is also unremarkable at best. I tried this place at the recommendation of a coworker, and even took a date here to boot. They serve Chinese and Vietnamese fare, and fusion mashup cuisine has really jumped the shark for me, especially if poorly executed. This ended up being marginal at best. The potsticker appetizer was far too doughy. His dumpling filling even fell out in the shared soy sauce because of the lack of sufficient binders. We never finished them because the entrees had already arrived. My wor wonton soup, which I tend to order from Chinese restaurants in Reno, was very filling, if a bit bland (which is typical of authentic WWS). You can add all the flavors you like with the accompaniments at your table. His honey walnut shrimp was a lovely portion, yet unremarkable overall. When you're serving "too much, yet not enough," you run the risk of becoming a McDonalds instead of an In-N-Out. I wish this place had offered something redeemable that made us wish to return.

Yelp
This is a small restaurant with about a dozen or so tables. The ambience is warm and cozy, as well as clean. It's located in an older commercial area next to a port of subs. The food here was good. The Pho broth was tasteful and there were plenty of noodles and protein. The steam dumplings were delicious. The chow fun was good, however the gravy was a little bland. The service was great and pleasant. They were very attentive and the food was brought out quickly. Would definitely return.

Yelp
I'm very new to the Pho scene so I'll start off with that. Coworker said she wanted Pho so I hopped on Yelp to find a place. This place had positive reviews so we decided to try it out. Located in a small shopping area,, easy to find parking. Walked into a small restaurant area and was greeted politely and seated. It was welcoming and clean. I've had chicken Pho but decided to try the beef pho (#2) on the menu. Our food came out-- it was perfect temperature for a cold day! I liked the taste of the broth-- I meant to try the beef broth but it's on my list for next time. Loved the meat-- tender and flavorful. The rice noodles were good-- I can appreciate that it wasn't overwhelming noodles compared to the meat. I added some Sriracha sauce for a kick. Needless to say--- it was the perfect meal for a cold day. I will be more adventurous and try something else next time.

Yelp
This little gem on Mill Street is perfect for a quick lunch bite on a workday! Try their Mongolian beef and Shrimp Lobster Sauce meal!

Yelp
Always on the search for the best pho. I have a family member that loves chicken pho and so we regularly explore different hot spots for just that. I love good broth but chicken is not my personal go to when ordering pho. I can definitely determine a good broth tho and it's been fun searching out top spots for the perfect one. I've heard great things about SF Kitchen and it did not disappoint. All of the right flavor profile. All the proper accouterments and the broth has that unctuous, shimmering fat floating atop. Definable try this place out. Great service and a cozy quaint vibe. Love!

Stevie P.

Yelp
Servers are very friendly and helpful. Food is fantastic and they have great lunch specials! We've been here at least half a dozen times and has yet to disappoint

Yelp
Had mixed veggies and chicken with garlic. Was so good! Everyone loved their choices. Recommended!!

Yelp
3/9/2024- In the area and sopped in for lunch. Busy on this late lunch and with the cooler weather. Went with the honey garlic lunch, and the pork lunch with shrimp. A little too much sauce for the honey garlic chicken, but all was good.
google avatar

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
It's alright -- it filled the stomach. Was in the area for a chore and stopped by for pho. Pho was decent, but the fresh rolls were pretty bad, ratios are totally off - not sure if bad batch because others said it was great. There's a buncha better pho places out there but overall it gets the job done.

Yelp
It was a cold night in Reno so I felt like some soup. It's a nice small place. I was seated almost instantly. My server was pleasant and my order was taken quickly. I ordered the egg rolls and Wor Wonton soup. The egg rolls (4) were a generous size, crispy and flavorful. The Wor Wonton soup was served in a large bowl bountiful with vegetables, shrimp, chicken pieces, pork, and what appeared to be fresh made wontons. The broth was rich and flavorful. It hit the spot for the cold night. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
It had been quite a while since I'd stopped in here and I'm kicking myself for taking so long to re-visit this little gem! If you've read any of my recent reviews, a lot of them are focused on my quest for my new favorite Pho in the area, since my previous favorite Pho place changed hands recently and the new owners changed the recipe...and their flavors are not as much to my liking as with the previous owner. This is a small place with a very comfortable interior and a great ambience. The service is great...very warm and cordial in my previous visits and that has continued with my recent visits. On my recent visits, I've been accompanied by a friend that's originally from Vietnam and is intimately familiar with the cuisine, having grown up with it. I've been introduced to some dishes that I was not familiar with in all my years of enjoying this food...it's been an amazing experience to learn more about it! We'll get into those further on in this review. Let's start with the Pho... This is now at the top of my list...with a minor exception that I'll elaborate on. Delicious, full flavored broth...plenty of proteins and veggies...all prepared on point. I ordered (on both visits): #1 Pho ($16.50) [Rare Steak, Flank, Meatballs] You also have the choice of Pho Noodles or Egg Noodles...I chose the traditional Pho Noodles. Plus, you also have the option to upsize to an XL bowl, extra meat or extra noodles. I didn't find it necessary, as it was plenty of food to satisfy my prodigious appetite. BUT...here's the minor exception I referred to earlier: No tripe or tendon! I love the texture that these proteins add to a bowl of Pho, but the co-owner informed me that the amount of work/time involved in preparing these items is prohibitive with their lack of kitchen staff. It still didn't prevent me from thoroughly enjoying their Pho...and I will be returning to enjoy it on a regular basis from here on. Now...on to the other dishes that I was introduced to. I tried a generous share of both of these dishes, thanks to my friend: #15 Bun Bo Hue ($15.50) [Spicy Beef Soup w/Large Vermicelli Noodles] This was an eye opener! Great flavors...great textures...absolutely outstanding! This is going to be a regular taste treat for me on my subsequent visits... #26 Canh Chua Ca ($21.50) [Vietnamese Hot & Sour Soup] The menu lists it as being available with Fish or Shrimp as the proteins...my friend ordered it with Catfish. Served w/Steamed Rice. Another eye opener! Again...great flavors...great textures...amazing! Almost an entire fish was in this complex broth...cooked perfectly... What a treat to learn about new food from someone that knows it! This is going to be a regular stop for me from now on... Drop by to see what tantalizes YOUR taste buds...

Yelp
One of the best pho spots in Reno, pho broth was really rich and flavorful! The spicy beef was also good, just add a lil more shrimp paste and yum! Definitely would be coming back
google avatar

Xtina D.

Yelp
Came in last week to warm up from the cold w their chicken pho and also tried the honey garlic chicken with fried rice. Loved every bite! The restaurant is clean, the staff friendly and attentive. I will reiterate what someone else had mentioned before; well worth the price point + 20% or higher tip!
google avatar

Toni F.

Yelp
I was overdue for lunch at SF Kitchen. I usually go for the lemongrass chicken or salt & pepper tofu but decided to try the walnut shrimp. Excellent! Tasty white sauce and crispy batter on the shrimp. Lunch specials come with a cup of soup, white or fried rice, and friendly service. Always a favorite spot!
google avatar

Allyson L.

Yelp
Might just be a contender for my favorite pho restaurant in Reno! The broth was clear and very flavorful. I'm not a huge fan of star anise, so no star anise flavor is ideal for me. The rare steak and flank were tender and not tough. Good ratio of noodles to meat. The summer rolls were jam packed too. The pork had a nice char to it. Definitely will be back!
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
The food is so good, however I don't recommend the pho. The broth was seriously lacking flavor and it had hardly any meat. Appetizers and other enteees we got were awesome though!
google avatar

Maui J.

Yelp
Short Version: Assistance + Balance + Cleanliness + Deliciousness + Environment + Full Version: Assistance+ Service was quick prompt and kind. It was the last two hours of business and they made us feel a bit rushed but it was understandable. Balance+ Food to price. More food than I'd expected based on price. $22 for a soup, appetizers, main entree, and rice or noodles. Cleanliness+ Restaurant tables forks and dishes were clean. Deliciousness+ The hot and sour soup was to die for, the potstickers and springrolls were fantastic and the sesame chicken was delightful. Environment+ Very traditional Chinese/Vietnamese style decor, orderly, calm and relaxing.
google avatar

Vince Y.

Yelp
My fam has been here maybe 1 or 2 times in the past in Reno. It always happens when we don't want the regular fare near the casinos and drive out a bit. This is near a busy area out past downtown and the Mall area. I came here with my folks for dinner. I got the Pho and they got other dishes. My pho was good but nothing compares to larger XL sizes available in Sactown and of course, we have Little Saigon area in South Sac so there is no comparison. However, the broth was tasty. A decent amount of meat and noodles but not abundant by any means. The place was busy when we came and was full by the time we were leaving. This is likely as there are not many Vietnamese places to eat in Reno like the millions in Sac. This place is a solid choice for good Vietnamese cuisine when in Reno!
google avatar

Christy D.

Yelp
Clean not too busy. Food didn't stay hot very long. Not homogenous for walnut shrimp and soup of the day, egg drop soup had no flavor. It was quiet and not spendy. The staff were pleasant. Will I return, no

Quoc K.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise. Stumbled upon this place while visiting GSR. Was craving Vietnamese food and their menu nailed it. Got the BBH and was not disappointed. Overall great experience. Would highly recommend to my fellow Vietnamese food lovers! Service was fast, we were in and out in about an hour (we had 12 people!!)
google avatar

Arshi K.

Yelp
Service and ambiance was excellent; however the food was just ok. Maybe we chose the wrong things to get. We went in for a Chinese dinner and ordered: Fish clay pot - 6/10 Mongolian chicken - 8/10 King pao chicken - 7/10 All dishes were just ok, nothing was worth coming back for. We did notice a lot of people eating pho and going with the Vietnamese side of the menu so maybe we need to come back and try that. Will not try the Chinese side again.
google avatar

Wendy T.

Yelp
One of the best oxtail stew claypot here. It's savory. A touch of sweet thick still like consistency and it comes with rice. It was a perfect meal for us. The Bon Bu Hue spicy noodles were not spicy enough and they did not have the blood and it wasn't as thick as I wanted to be. I'm missing the pork leg too We would like to try the lunch specials lemon chicken with wonton soup (extra cost) and also their fried rice next time. Great find in Reno close to the river.
google avatar

Sara C.

Yelp
Yum! Dinner for two ran us about $90 plus tip; so not cheap, but we both also enjoyed two glasses of beer or wine each; so not super expensive either. This is a casual chinese/vietnamese restuarant with great service! We started with Tofu Spring Rolls. The tofu was fried, and they were served with a yummy & moderately spicy peanut sauce... so good! For my entree, I ordered the Sesame Tofu with an upgrade to fried rice. Holy wow, this was so delicious! It was the perfect amount of crispy, and just overall very flavorful and well-balanced. This might be our new go-to for a simple, but amazing Chinese food option.
google avatar

15639 A.

Yelp
Love this place. They offer no MSG options upon request. However they don't work with DoorDash or any delivery services. Bummer. But, if you're in the area- dine in or take it to go. This place doesn't disappoint.
google avatar

Myrna S.

Yelp
I have been meaning to try the food at SF Kitchen because I read on their on-line menu, they offered ox tail; so, today, I dropped by to pick up an order of the ox tail pot and the beef stew pot with a side of steamed rice, and I honestly say both dishes were delicious. When I entered the restaurant, they had a few diners plus another lady waiting for her to-go order. I ordered to-go as well and what impressed me about this establishment, other than the great tasting food was how absolutely well-mannered the proprietress was; she got the door for the customer ahead of me because that customer had her hands full; that was truly nice of her. In the brief interaction with her and the gentleman, they seem to earnestly appreciate each customer or potential customer that walks in the door, and I like that. So, in summation, this was a good initial visit and I look forward to trying the other items on their menu.
google avatar

Tomtom K.

Yelp
Good pho and good service. I love that they have different pho broths. I like the veggie tofu pho with beef broth.
google avatar

Linda B.

Yelp
I had pho Ga. It was good but the broth could use more depth of flavor. Nice family service
google avatar

Cynthia B.

Yelp
It was snowing during lunch time yesterday, so I drove to this place to order a hot bowl of pho. Service was fast and friendly. I was sat upon arrival and handed a menu. I decided on the bowl of pho with rare beef and and meatballs. Oh my goodness, it was AMAZING! The broth was perfect, hot and flavorful. The staff was attentive and I was in and out within 30 mins. Perfect for my lunch hour.
google avatar

Gus M.

Yelp
I feel that the soup they gave us was very starchy, and it was nothing like egg drop soup, which is what they give you when you get complementary soup at any restaurant. We had cashew chicken, the cashew tasted like it was older, and it tasted like stale food. The broccoli beef was excellent, and the meat really tasted like it had been grilled. The service is very good. They serve you promptly, and you are able to enjoy your meal after. The place is a bit pricey for Chinese food. $22 per person for what you get is too much in my opinion.
google avatar

Nara N.

Yelp
The service was good, friendly environment and food was great. I will definitely come back. I go to Reno a lot but this is the first time I been here. It's right down the street from GSR. I want to try some other dishes.
google avatar

Archie P.

Yelp
The food is plentiful and delicous. There are a good variety of options for vegans and vegetarians. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice and their bathroom is pleasant and well kept. And while the food is delicious, their staff always make the experience. It's often too busy for me to consider coming in on the weekends, but I've always been treated well and attended to each visit. Also, the tofu rolls are banger. Very crispy and delicious with the peanut sauce.

Yelp
We were looking for a quick lunch on the way to pick up my car from a service today, and SF Kitchen was nearby and fulfilled our cravings. Hubby wanted Thai, but we settled for Vietnamese and Chinese. I've said it before, I could eat Vietnamese food every day! I walked in first to see if we could be seated right away. I was greeted by a friendly older gentleman who also doubled as our server after seating us. He wasn't wearing a name tag, and I should have asked his name. He provided us with exceptional service. Everything was delicious! I was craving egg rolls, so I ordered the egg roll vermicelli. It's the best of both worlds and hands down the best egg rolls I've ever had. Fine tuning my recipe at home to emulate these. Hubby ordered the beef and shrimp vermicelli and kid's sweet and sour chicken for our son. I didn't finish my food, and of course, hubby packed it to go so he could eat the rest at home. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Lizzie E.

Yelp
We ordered the chilli wonton special, the steak pho, and the beef rice plate. Everything was so fresh and amazing! The food came quickly. We were in Reno for 5 days and came here twice because it was so good!
google avatar

David O O.

Yelp
Good food and service. Its clean inside but a little noisy. I had the L18 combo of pork and shrimp and my wife got the honey garlic chicken. My dish was very good but the honey garlic dish was a little too saucey. Try it sometime.
google avatar

Kayci X.

Yelp
Went here for lunch during my trip to Reno. I ordered oxtail pho and a side of egg rolls. The oxtail pho broth was rich and yummy. The service here was also great. They were fast and friendly.

Yelp
Heads up - this review is for some takeout I ordered. I ate it within a half an hour of ordering it, as well, so it was as fresh as possible. I really wanted to like this place more than I did. The person at the front counter was so nice and kind, and kinda got my hopes up about the food since I had never been there before. Unfortunately what I got was so "meh" it makes me not wanna go back - although my hope is that other, more popular dishes would be much better than what I got, which is standard takeout fare. Speaking of what I got - the way they do things here is different than what I'm used to. You can order various proteins in various styles. For instance, I got general pork instead of general chicken. It came with a side of rice, and I ordered a side of steamed veggies. Just that was $24 bucks. Which I was fine paying - because I assumed the food was gonna be great, with good portions. Both of those assumptions proved false. Average portions, with meh results. It wasn't a styrofoam clamshell plate, it was small boxes. Which would have been fine ...... If the food had been great. It wasn't. Let's start with the general pork. Mushy, bland breading. Such a bunmer. Pork wasn't tough, but wasn't seasoned very well. The sauce they used tasted pretty good, which made the mushy breading all the more sad. I'm used to general chicken being crispy, crunchy, saucy, spicy, sweet and salty... Hitting all those notes. This stuff? Saucy and sweet. That's it. Considering this was the main component of my order, it really knocked the review score. Thankfully they included some chili oil, which it very much needed flavor wise, but again, the mushy breading really messed this dish up. The white rice? It was fine. Cooked well, a nice texture. Steamed veggies? Well cooked. Still crunchy. Unsalted. Both the veggies and rice were supposed to be blank canvases to enhance the general pork... Which was a letdown. Because of the unfortunate lack of quality with the general pork not justifying the smaller than expected portion size and higher than expected cost.... 2 out of 5 stars.

Yelp
A friend and I ate here recently. Apparently many Asian restaurants in the area are closed on Tuesdays.? So, we landed at SF Kitchen. It was lunch and she was craving salt and pepper calamari. She said it was good and it looked good. I had the Kung Pao shrimp which was also good. But I love spice, and though there was a pepper signifying spicy by the menu item, I'm fairly certain that even my spice avoiding friends could have easily eaten this. That being said, all the food appeared and tasted fresh. So, eating here is a solid choice. At the corner of Mill & Kietzke, I don't know how I've never noticed this restaurant before now. They were fairly busy throughout our meal here, but we were seated promptly and service was quick and friendly.

Yelp
If you want to eat here, be sure to eat before cuz by the time you get your food, you'll be starving.

Yelp
Definitely the spot to go for lunch and pho! They also offer Chinese dishes, but we think they have one of the best phos in town. Very reasonably priced for the portions as well. I loved their vegan pho (both is light but very flavorful) and my husband loved their ox tail pho. The place is casual and unassuming but very clean. Service is good and fast. Definitely recommend this place for a quick hearty delicious lunch.
