The World's Most Beautiful Airports for 2025 | Condé Nast Traveler
"Sustainability headlines this renovation, with carbon output cut by 79% and overall energy use reduced by 59%, alongside a waste diversion rate above 90% and a 50% drop in potable water use. Fritted glass reduces glare, photovoltaic panels span the roof, and a low-carbon baggage system works with dual plumbing that separates non-potable water for flushing and landscaping. Despite the efficiencies, comfort shines through spacious skylights and creative design touches that highlight San Francisco’s arts-and-crafts style, and the building houses the SFO Museum—the world’s only accredited museum inside an airport. The project was led by Gensler and Kuth Ranieri." - Jessica Puckett
Airports (and Terminals) You'll Actually Want to Spend Time in
"The first airport terminal named for an LGBTQ leader, it features a museum exhibit about Harvey Milk, various dining options, leather lounge chairs, electronically tinted glass, and gender-neutral bathroom options. It currently has nine out of 26 gates open."
I was there during San Francisco technology week during the week to the weekend. It was my first time coming out here it was a great experience with delta even though I booked my tickets early. It was hard to understand the directions at the airport because they are not much people out there that are employees not available to help. But I am smart enough to figure a new place as I am a travel guide for Google with 19 million impressions overall.
I am looking forward to traveling more and using this airport that I should expect to give more insights of this locations now. There is a lot of history at this location.
SFO Museum Gallery Harvey Milk Terminal 1. I was at the airport for a couple hours. I got to try food from new restaurants and also check out their museum. I was just here to come out to some networking events.

Not the largest gallery space, but there’s a few displays in a dark (and not incredibly inviting) hallway, next to Ritual coffee. It’s worth a quick visit, but certainly not worth risking missing your flight to see

This is a cool little hallway step up as a museum in the Harvey Milk terminal, which is a beautiful terminal by the way. Overall SFO is one of the nicest major airports in the US. In any event, this is a great little area to spend 15 or 20 minutes at while your waiting to board your plane.

Congratulations to the SFO - Harvey Milk Domestic Airport for being fittingly voted as one of the most beautiful structures in the world. It is indeed fitting that such a remarkable structure (airport) be acknowledged worldwide. Kudos to those who remodeled and modernized this domestic airport. I admire the fact that this airport is now considered a "quiet airport" in which flight information announcements can only be heard at the gates and not through the sound systems as most airports do! Keep up the good work and I pray and hope that you continue to innovate and keep this airport very clean and charming!
And this is my honest and unbiased review!

LOVE this new Harvey Milk Terminal 1. Spacious, bright, clean and modern. A luxury hotel lobby experience. We were there in the afternoon of a weekday and the terminal was not crowded. Lot of seating areas and kids play area. Good signs to guide passengers

This is a very small exhibit hall at the beginning of terminal one. The exhibits change I believe periodically but right now it’s an exhibit about the working women in World War II. My mother was a Rosie the riveter during the war so I thought this was especially interesting. And in any case, not many people are in the exhibit and there’s some seating here so it’s a nice quiet area to sit and relax away from the turmoil outside.

I had an overnight layover in the Harvey Milk Terminal and was thrilled to spend time enjoying the art, sculpture and architecture. Finding the galleries was a bonus. What a great way to engage, entertain and educate travelers!

Definitely worth some time when in Terminal 1. They do an excellent job with very little space.
Rosie the Riveter is on display right now
