Regional Chinese Specialist Shaanxi Gourmet Shutters in Rosemead | Eater LA

"When it opened in 2011 it quickly became a favorite and waits were common; even after two seating expansions it remained busy, spawned branches in Las Vegas and greater Boston, suffered a drop-off in quality before a short-lived Arcadia location, and has now closed with only the Boston-area location remaining." - Jim Thurman

I ordered two dishes and both had mild flavors that weren’t overpowering, making them enjoyable for anyone. I tried the Mapo Tofu and the thick noodles served with bok choy in a slightly spicy and tangy sauce. The noodles seemed to be handmade and had a great chewy texture. Even though I’m sensitive to strong spices and usually can’t handle heavily seasoned Chinese food, everything here suited me really well. I would recommend this place to anyone who prefers clean and well-balanced flavors.

I saved this restaurant back in 2019 when I first passed by. This week, I walked by again—after six years and a whole pandemic. It felt surreal, like stepping into another time. The food is still as authentic and delicious as I remembered. Truly worth the bookmark!

Google
First time here…water cup is dirty…General gao chicken has no meat… all wrap up with Doug… not worth the money, hot and sour noodle soup also not that good, the dining room is messy… how can other people give such good reviews? Won’t back!

Google
They offer traditional Shannxi dishes, and they tasted good. Good service with reasonable price. I’d recommend it.

I’ve been here twice and will definitely keep coming. I really liked the cold skin noodles as an appetizer and highly recommend it. Lamb skewers were also really good but a little expensive for what you get. I liked the Sizzling Cumin Lamb as it had a lot of flavor. It had a little spice but not too much (I would have preferred it even spicier). I typically like to get spicy dishes but decided to also get the Eggplant in Brown Sauce. Lots of tender eggplant and the brown sauce is slightly sweet which goes nicely with a spicy dish. It also has bok choy, wood ear mushrooms, and tomatoes in it for a nice variety of vegetables. If you need something not very spicy, the Sizzling Beef Fillet with Black Pepper would be good. One dish I did not like was the Spicy Chicken with Crispy Rice. The fried chicken was decent but quite salty. The rice it came with was cubes of super crunchy rice that was difficult to eat with the chicken. The combination of the dry rice with fried chicken made it very dry of a dish.

Shaanxi Gourmet has delicious authentic Chinese food without having to drive into the city. The restaurant itself is very clean and casual and the staff are very friendly. They make everything in-house. I started with a lychee iced tea, delicious! My first plate was soybean paste homemade noodles. This was this noodles in a mouthwatering soybean meat sauce. The flavors were amazing! This dish also had fresh sliced cucumbers that tasted really good mixed into the dish. My next dish was pork intestine in a brown sauce. Pork Intestine, in general, is like eating extremely tender pork. It is delicious! This also had my favorite wood ear mushrooms, fermented black beans. This dish was a showstopper! I also tried their crispy orange sesame chicken. This was crispy, with nice flavoring without a heavy sauce. Definitely recommend! The egg rolls were a mix of cabbage, celery, and meat. They had a nice flavor. The duck sauce was traditional with a little spice added, possibly cinnamon. For dessert I had warm tapioca. It was also delicious! The restaurant quickly filled up. It seemed the majority of the guests were speaking Chinese! I take that as a good sign. Shanxi is part of Northern China. I think they do an amazing job honoring their food. This is a must try!

Google
I get their spicy chili oil hand-pulled noodles and those are a great comfort food when you need it. Only thing is that I would recommend ordering ahead during their dinner rushed as it’ll get pretty busy.

Google
Very good shaanxi flavor. Highly recommend moon cake with chives and eggs. And Chinese burger . Super juicy and delicious. Definitely will come back.

Yelp
Tasty hand-pulled noodles and dumplings close to Natick. We stopped by to try the liang pi, and also ordered the lamb dumplings and big plate chicken. I liked that the liang pi came with the chunks of wheat gluten. The lamb dumplings had good flavor but were smaller than I expected. The sauce they serve it with is excellent! While these two dishes were on the small side for the price, the big plate chicken more than made up for it. It was huge bowl chicken. We also got it with noodles and the noodles were mega wide. Very flavorful and tasty dish, and not too spicy even though it's listed on the menu with many chili peppers. When we came, it was very empty. Service was nice, normal. I liked the complimentary taro sago dessert soup at the end. The front of the restaurant is very unassuming. It's surprisingly large inside, but a bit rundown/homey. Overall, would stop by again!

Yelp
Ordered the hand pulled noodles which had pork . Excellent noodles, flavorful broth. 1/2 I have for lunch tomorrow. Ordered the mini fried buns . Wow... mini fried donut taste and the dipping sauce was like eating honeydew donut crack sauce...super rich and must get recipe as intense dip for the mini buns . Appears the go to place for The Chinese people seeking authentic dishes... All food I saw walking by the table I saw was delicious and the beef or lamb skewers look to be a must buy .

Yelp
My family loves doing take out from Shaanxi Gourmet. We often order the good pomfret in brown sauce fish dish, shredded potato, and veggie delight. We've never dined in before so we thought we'd give it a try this time, and we had a great experience! The restaurant is quite big and there's plenty of seating. Customer service was excellent. We also tried a new dish - the pork dumplings. It was delicious and it's probably my favorite dish at Shaanxi Gourmet! They give free dessert (taro pudding so the tapioca) - it's delicious! Overall rating: 10/10

Yelp
like the tofu skin and cucumber cold noodles. and looking forward to the hand pulled spicy noodles next time

J R.

Yelp
Everything was good. Cold noodles had a good amount of gluten cubes and cucumber with peanut /sesame sauce. Liang pi, a favorite. Eggplant with garlic was very generous. Good flavor and texture, not too soft. Fried intestines with celery excellent as always. This is the only Chinese restaurant I come off the Pike for.

Yelp
My friends and I ordered a variety of dishes and loved everything. I do not like a lot of spice, but I was able to eat the dishes with 1 pepper. But for folks who like it hot, you can get 2 or 3 pepper dishes.
google avatar

Grace C.

Yelp
Mediocre is the right word to describe the food here. It's not tasted bad but really nothing impressed us. The tofu is chewy, the beef is thin, not the right kind as it's named, the noodle soup tasted like vinegar. Service is okay. Environment is okay.
google avatar

Yelp
This place gets better and better every time I go. Now that they're open for dine in I think it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in MetroWest. GeLe chicken, Qishan noodles, and all their dumplings are must haves.
google avatar

Yelp
Very authentic Chinese food. But you have to be true spicy Chinese food lover to enjoy it.

Shirley S.

Yelp
Was very hungry so came in here to eat. We called ahead and asked them to prepare a couple of dishes beforehand for me to eat when I got there, and the waiter was able to accommodate. Was very impressed because when we walked in to eat after 5-10 minutes, they've already had the food ready to go. The food was delicious and similar to the Shaanxi food I enjoyed back in China. Will definitely visit again.

Yelp
Fantastic authentic Chinese food from the Shaanxi province of China Not the "Americanized" version of Chinese food. My girlfriend's mom is from Xi'an, and so she was thrilled to find a place that serves authentic Chinese food in the Boston area (Not an egg roll in the house)! The fare is from Shaanxi province, hence the name. Dinner was amazing and we sampled many dishes. My girlfriend picked a few, and the nice young server made several suggestions as well. We started with some appetizers like Lazhi Style Chinese Burger (made from ground pork on a biscuit type of bread), Crispy Fried Dumplings, Lamb Skewers, and Roast beef w. scallion pancake. For our entrees, we had Shaanxi Three Delicacies, Eggplant in Brown Sauce, and a couple of other dishes that I can not remember the name of. I will post photos. BOTTOM LINE: If you want to taste authentic food from Shaanxi, this is a great place to go.

Yelp
Average quality cuz pretty much everything is spicy. You can't tell much if ingredients are fresh or not as you can only taste spices. Pretty expensive for average Chinese food.

Yelp
Love this place! The food is authentic, delicious and great for the price! Service is pretty good too. The Handmade Pork Dumplings, Chinese Burger and Sauteed Spicy Chicken with Handmade Noodles are my favorite! The potato and the sauce in the Sauteed Spicy Chicken are so good that my husband and I always want more, even though the portion of this dish is very generous (two full containers, enough for 4 people)! I like pouring some sauteed chicken on top of the handmade wide noodles, which were in a separate container. They closed their business for a while, and just reopened not long ago. The lady who picked my phone call today was so patient (I made multiple phone calls to ask questions and adjust the order). Definitely will go back there soon!

Yelp
My wife from Chengdu, loves this place. She's excited that they reopened! Their mala pots are legit. Labeled as "Aromatic hot pot" - this is a must and very authentic Sichuan.

Sinthia T.

Yelp
I haven't ordered Chinese food in ages because it's always disappointing. So when I tried this place, I had low expectations. But I was pleasantly surprised at the quality! The dishes are fresh and absolutely delicious. We ordered the spicy hand pulled noodles, vegetarian dumplings, and General Tso's chicken. All were outstanding....the noodles were spicy with lots of garlic, the dumplings light (not chewy at all!) with fresh vegetable filling, and the General Tso's chicken lightly breaded and all white meat chicken. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant and so happy I discovered this gem!

Yelp
Loved it! We are always on the lookout for authentic Chinese food and love spicy Sichuan style dishes. This was a great find. This was our first time trying Shaanxi food and now we are fans! I got the pan seared hand pulled noodles with chili oil and my husband got the spicy cumin lamb with rice. Of course we shared! Everything was super duper delicious and the spice level was quiet high. When they say spicy, they mean it! We've already decided to try other things on the menu!
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
We love their noodles so much! Our go-tos are the spicy oil handmade noodles (thick pulled, super chewy and QQ to sink your teeth into), cold skin noodles, and qishan noodles. Flavoring for all is EXCELLENT. Well-balanced and full-bodied. Also good are their sizzling black pepper beef, stewed pig's feet (I know sounds scary but really tasty if you can brave it!), chili stir fried Napa cabbage. Shaanxi Gourmet boasts authentic Xi'an fare, friendly and attentive staff, clean and spacious interior. Though a drive out of Boston, we're regulars bc there's always parking and never any wait times -- a welcome respite from the hustle-bustle dining experience in the city.

Yelp
We picked up takeout from the restaurant. All of the dishes were delicious, the lamb had a lot of onions in it but it was still a nice portion. The mapo tofu was a lot soupier than I had expected and I also didn't realize green bean and eggplant would have tomatoes in it. Otherwise, one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area.

Yelp
I lost count trying to remember the amount of times I've visited Shaanxi Gourmet. This place has been a part of my driving route after shopping at the Natick Mall. There's only one dish I come here for and it's the Da Pan Ji, which literally translates to Large Plate Chicken. See pics to begin salivating. Food: See pic (65%) Taste to price 4.5/5 Quality to price 4.5/5 Portion to price 5/5 Average = 4.67 Service (20%) Friendliness 3/5 Promptness 3/5 Average = 3 Cleanliness (15%) Bathroom 3/5 Dining area 4/5 Kitchen area 4/5 Average = 3.67 Overall Score = [F(.65)]+[S(.20)]+C(.15)] = [3.04]+[0.6]+[0.55] = 4.19 What else to know: Although not really a Shaanxi speciality and more of a Xinjiang one, of all the places I've tried in the Boston area Shaanxi Gourmet has the best Da Pan Ji making it a hidden treasure since it's not even a highlight in their menu. I have yet to try their other dishes simply due to their Da Pan Ji literally being too large for me to get anything else. My GF and I always end up taking the rest home! For $21.95 + $3 for noodles, I can say it feeds about 3.5 people which makes it a steal of a deal. At this rate, I don't think I'll ever get the chance to try their main draws of Roujiamo (Chinese burger) and Paomo (Lamb Soup w/ Pita Bread). **If you enjoyed my review, follow or add me as a friend. I have tons of reviews like this.

Yelp
My wife had tasted some the food from this restaurant when boss bought lunch and really liked so wanted to try. We got the lamb skewers (takeout is off skewers), fried tofu with veg home style, Fish fillet stew with Chinese sauerkraut (pickled mustard green), Boiled beef in Sichuan sauce, and my daughter got the hot sour vermicelli soup with pork intestine. The lamb skewers were good, nice spice level with cumin. The fried tofu with vegetables was sort of a classic dish for us and we liked it. Little spicier than most places but nature of the Shaanxi food I think. The fish fillet stew was really good. The pickled mustard greens is a favorite of my daughter and wife and often used as a condiment in such things as congee. Not quite sure what the fish is here but this is a superb dish with a bit of heat. The pickled greens provide some relief from heat. The boiler beef in Sichuan sauce is a classic with a lot of heat. really good dish if you like that heat. The hot sour vermicelli soup with pork intestine the daughter liked, i tried the intestine and it was good. The daughter prefers it crispy but that is another disk really. The place is take out only still during these covid times. I did a pickup and service was good and the order was ready quite quickly. Will get food from there in the future for sure

Yelp
Delicious vegetarian dishes, rich and spicy sauces. We enjoyed string beans with eggplant, steamed broccoli, and house noodles. The Whole Fish entree was great, too - covered in peppers, veggies and sauce. Vegetarian dumplings were so-so. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere. Enjoy!

Kim R.

Yelp
I was driving home from Boston absolutely starving and the reviews looked good. Omg the best hand pulled noodles I have ever had. I will happily drive any day of the week. Yum
google avatar

Yelp
Call first, it might be temporary closed. The restaurant is closed but Yelp shows open. We were so sad after 40 mins driving.

Yelp
Maybe hand pulled noodle joints are just not my thing. I didn't enjoy my experience here at all. I'm not talking about just the food. We were seated right in front of the door and my kids were freezing cold. The servers were not tentative to our needs at all. It was a little busy and they were not able to handle it at all. Even the chefs had to come out in jackets to help serve food. Food was not good for my tastes. The pork belly was sliced extremely thin (think cold cuts thin) and the preserved veggies were damn salty! I love salty foods to begin with and even I thought they were salty as heck. Fried dumplings were cute...very small portion. I won't be back. They are lucky to be on route 9 where their place is highly visible and suckers like me will go in at least once.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is a mixed bag. The food was tasty but the service was bad. They did not refill our water, and they did not come out with the check for a long time. The waiter was marginally rude and somewhat disrespectful. I wasn't sure whether the young children were those of an employee or a guest but they made a huge racket. Far worse was that the adults were actively encouraging this as they were filming the children and their antics. It made it impossible to enjoy our food for quite long time. The place seemed to cut a lot of corners. They ran out of candy available to guests as they leave. There were parts of decor that needed some fresh paint. We noticed that the waiter provided awful service to the other guests too. So perhaps they have a loyal clientele who do not care about the bad service. If you want an intimate dinner you will not find it here. If you are hungry and just want take out or don't mind bad service then you will find this establishment tolerable.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Delicious, authentic food. Shaanxi Gourmet has become our go-to take-out place! The service is wonderful. Everything has been delicious, but my favorites include the cold skin noodles, dumplings, tofu in homestyle sauce, and green beans. Spicy actually means spicy!! Can't recommend highly enough :) already thinking of my next (take-out) visit!
google avatar

Mark N.

Yelp
Both of the dishes I just finished were completely delicious. Mixed Vegetables Boiled in Hot Spicy Sauce was spicy and numbing with added flavor from a large dollop of chopped garlic that sat in the middle of the bowl. Vegetables included broccoli, lotus root, baby bok choy, wood ear mushrooms and button mushrooms. Note: this dish is not vegetarian. The bowl comes with several large thick slices of ham and fish balls, both of which add to the flavor. The second dish was Braised Chicken with Chestnuts. The chicken is served on the bone in a deep, rich braising liquid replete with chestnuts, large slices of ginger, and star anise.
google avatar

Emma B.

Yelp
The most authentic Chinese restaurant in the Natick area. Food has a very authentic flavour, not the type of Chinese restaurant which has a heavy Western influence. 炸酱面 (Zha Jiang Mian) is very good, tastes just like the ones in Beijing; however I will request extra sauce on the next visit. 北京水饺 (Steamed Pork Dumplings) are equally just as good.... melts in your mouth. To top it off, service is excellent. The waitresses were very friendly and accommodating, making our meal much more enjoyable. Just eating the food here makes me less homesick, and we will definitely be a more frequent and regular customer.
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
This is one of the best authentic Chinese restaurant I know in the Boston area. Have been here several times and never been disappointed. The food are delicious and the servers are friendly. The price and portion are more reasonable compared to the other authentic Chinese restaurants in this area. I will definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Yaoming H.

Yelp
I have been this place several times. But the the most recent one wasn't pleasant: Food was ok. Lamb skewers tasted good, but too little for the price. We also ordered big plate chicken, but we didn't see the dish, even we had waited 30mins after finishing all the other courses. They probably forgot our order, so we cancelled it. Extremely hot inside during this time, but temperature hot. They said AC is broken, but we customers had to endure the high temperatures.

Richard S.

Yelp
Great and authentic. Hand-pulled noodles were delicious. Some items on the menu aren't always available or were sold out, so have a backup or two planned, just in case.
google avatar

Augustus Z.

Yelp
The food is actually Chinese Shaanxi style, but I bet the chef is not good. Because the food doesn't taste as good as an average Shaanxi restaurant should be. One of the waitress was really rude because when she saw my wife's fingers she "yelled" at them saying they are too long and went back to tell other servants about that. I don't want to try this place again...
google avatar

Eleanor Q.

Yelp
I'd give 3.5 star. 4 stars I have given to some nice restaurant. It has the Xian Gourmet style, but just not authentic enough. Noodle was too stick, and it broke easily. They have roast lamb, which is nice. Lots of parking out side. They also got some sculpture as decoration.
google avatar

Bojia Z.

Yelp
Great Shanxi I food I can found in town. As a shaanxi native person, that is the real taste from my hometown. Love it!
google avatar

William F.

Yelp
Lots of spicy dishes, pretty big portions, and reasonable prices. Shaanxi gourmet is my current favorite Chinese restaurant and is worth the drive from Worcester. Get the Cumin Lamb and hand pulled noodles. They are pretty generous with the Sichuan peppercorn in any dish that has it
google avatar

Yifan C.

Yelp
Delicious with inexpensive prices! Especially for the "cold noodle" (Liang Mian). Definitely will come back with friends!
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Service was fast and food was ok. Stir-fried shredded cabbage (4/5): I actually liked it - it was more on the sour and sweet side, but less spicy. Spicy hot oil seared hand pulled noodles (3.5/5): not very spicy, and not quite impressive either. Crispy fried dumpling (3.5/5): yes they are crispy. Stewed chicken with chestnut (3.5/5): sweet and flavorful, but too much starch for thickening. Qishan Style Handmade Noodle (3/5): the noodle soup was too sour...not a fan. Fish fillet stew with Chinese sauerkraut (1/5): worst among all similar dishes I've had. The soup was tasteless, literally.
google avatar

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
Excellent noodles. Live the cold skin noodles. They've been closed for a few weeks but reopening March 20.
google avatar

Lev T.

Yelp
Great place for authentic regional cuisine. Can be Very spice but so worth it. Try the handpull spicy noodles and the fried dumplings. Service can be a little weird, but ignore it for the food.
google avatar

Angela M.

Yelp
Authentic and delicious food prepared perfectly for Chinese New Year dinner. We enjoyed the whole fish - Golden Perch - spicy Kung Pao chicken and a small row of 5 dumplings connected with a tortilla. No fortune cookies but hey, they don't give out fortune cookies in China! Pleasantly surprised for a first timer.
google avatar

Jie H.

Yelp
It's best authentic Shaanxi restaurant we have had for years in the US! Love all Shaanxi dishes. It also has a large variety of non-shaanxi choices which we didn't try.
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Five, 5 Big Stars! Check my distribution I don't hand these things out lightly. Shaanxi Gourmet is pure, there are no American Chinese dishes, zero, zip, nada, "Méiyu". This alone makes it a destination restaurant. A large part of the menu items are on the spicy side, you have been warned. Location: A stripmall on route 9. Coming from the west you have to make a nasty U turn, from the east you just have to slow down. The lot isn't too big but it's adequate. The entrance is guarded by two terracotta soldiers, totally harmless. The long axis of the restaurant is parallel to route 9, which affords a long set of front window tables. Facing front the right side has more seats but there are steps. The left side has more seat away from the windows. The booths are the large and can handle at least 4 people. The food: Two familiar dishes were standouts, the Spicy Fried Green Beans(4.5/5), and the Ma Po Tofu(4/5) (see pics). Simple and clean executions of both dishes. A must here are noodle dishes, we had the Cold Skin Noodles(5/5), slightly gummy and yielding to the bite with a savory spicy sauce. There are 3 other noodle dishes we did not try. A lesser known simple dish is the Sauteed spicy Napa cabbage (5/5), piping hot and spicy. We had veggie dumplings(3.5/5), these were good not a stand but as good as I've had lately (as in 2 days ago in Chinatown). The crispy fried dumplings(4/5) were more distinctive and the dumplings have open ends like Taiwanese style. Something that may be novel to some are the Chinese Burgers (pork), there are two flavors: Lazhi Style(3.5/5) , Qishan Style(4/5), the "bun" is more like a wheat English Muffin. Both are tasty but I prefer the Qishan Style. My big 3: 1) Hot and Sour Potato Shreds(5/5), this is a common dish in the US now but these are very thinly sliced with a distinctive sauce. 2) Double Cooked Pork Bellies with Fried Wheat Cake "Chips"(5/5), the chips are crunchy and the pork belly is soft making a nice combination. This dish isn't as spicy as some of the others but it is still very picante. We just loved it. 3) Thin Sliced Pig Ears(5/5) in a chili sauce, this was a hot dish in other Chinese cuisines this is sometimes a chilled salad, this interpretation was very much to my liking, although the leftovers were delicious out the fridge the next day! Last but not least: The GeLe Mountain Spicy Chicken (with bones) was very good (3.5/5) but it's slightly challenging to eat even if you are expert with chopsticks. Eating them with a fork would be more difficult. I would have liked a little more of the celery in the dish as well. The Japanese Style Eel (Unagi) was enjoyed by others more than me but I liked it well enough (3.5/5). I thought the eel medallions were over glazed. The Qishan Style Pork Ribs(3.5/5) were on the cold menu, but ours were served warm. They tasted fine and the rib meat yielded to the bite as it should be, but they were better after being in our fridge the next day. * parking: lot but it could get busy and be careful entering onto route 9. * servers were very pleasant and attentive, water glasses were filled often. * Please don't trash this place if you only like American Chinese food. Wrong place for U. * Please don't trash this place if you had better in China these guys are putting a very good product out, they are as good as the other X'ian restos I've been to in Chicago and NYC it's still new and shiny place...

Yelp
Very nice restaurant that provides authentic Shannxi food. Good price

Yelp
This is a super Chinese restaurant, so you should expect super Chinese service the servers are efficient, but be aware that this place gets busy so it may seem like they're being curt when they're just doing their job. You know a Chinese place is good when all of the customers are Chinese. They specialize in food from the area of China where the clay soldiers are found. That said, we ordered the following (not sure what all the English names are): Watering-mouth chicken (cold dish, not sure what this is in English), the spicy oil noodles, the lamb and bread soup, the Chinese lettuce in garlic sauce, and the two kinds of burgers. All dishes were delicious. Don't be afraid of the spicy sauces and oils! They just add to the flavor. The chicken was so addictive - the sauce is some sesame, garlic, soy and chili thing and it was AMAZING. The soup was good and actually pretty lightly flavored (the lamb wasn't too heavy). The hand pulled spicy oil noodles are SO GOOD. The texture is chewy and the noodles are flat and wide, the sauce is spicy and a little sour. The burger had a crispy and chewy bun, the same bread they use in the soup. Underrated on Yelp! Will be back.

Yelp
We arrived at 11:30 in the afternoon for lunch and saw only two other people in the restaurant. People started swarming in exactly at 12:00. The food was delicious. I would recommend the hand pulled noodles and burgers.

Yelp
I am so disappointed in this place. First of all service. The waiters are all good but can do something about their spoken language. I understand they are all hard working immigrants (I am one myself) but please, try to learn the language you are doing business with. Not judging ... but opining what would help you. Food. I have been to many Xian style restaurants in NYC and Gene's Flatbread in Woburn. I have never had such a bland hand pulled noodles before. Bland..tasteless...not spicy...not even enough salt. I ordered some Lamb ribs...one of the most expensive dishes in the menu. The dish was full of Lamb fats. Ok. When I order Lamb ribs..I do expect some fat and fatty meat. But not an entire dish full of fat. The lamb skewers were good but tiny in quantity. I wish them good luck. Lots of people seem to like the food. But this place is not for me.

Yelp
I went there with all my family last weekend. The food there is absolutely amazing. I was born in xi'an and lived there for 27 years.Since I left xi'an,I miss the shaanxi food a lot.Especially when I came to US.I even tried to do it at home which really took a lot of time. The food in this grand opening restaurant remind us of the memories in xi'an.It is very good, absolutely shaanxi taste. We had tried other shaanxi and xi'an restaurant in New York.To be honest, this one is good.Others are really fast food restaurant, very small and barely be able to find a seat. But this one is a clean, nice and a real restaurant. You can have your meal at the table with all your family at ease. The waiter there is really kind and sweet. We ordered Cold skin noodles,Chinese burger, qishan style homemade noodles, pita bread soaked in lamb soup, spicy hot oil seared hand pulled noodles, other dishes and soup.every one of them is authentic. My parents liked them very much.qishan style homemade noodles is my favorite noodle in shaanxi,I love it.And the restaurant gave me a surprise.the qishan style homemade noodle is as much the same as in qishan. But the noodles can be a little bit harder. I love this restaurant.I already missed there.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in Metrowest area! We've been here twice this spring and have been very impressed. The food tastes very authentic Chinese. Loved the pepper steak, Chinese burger (lazhi version), cold skin noodles, Kung pao chicken and vegetable delight. Stir fried cabbage was also good as were the green beans. Very convenient and quick pick up. We will definitely be back.
