First time trying Shabu. Absolutely amazing. Very Delicious. I highly recommend coming here with someone that knows what their doing. I had no idea, but fortunately my boi has been here many different times and knows what to order and how it works. Had a family double date here. Everything was wonderful. It was a lil bit more packed then usual, I was told. Still had a great time.

Super affordable individual hot pot! They have good portions of meat and vegetables in their combos. The dipping sauces are good! They have many broth flavors. I tried the kimchi flavor with beef and lamb and it was good for the price.

Honestly the best hot pot place I've tried in Houston - especially for the price. $12.95 for your own personal hot pot. There are 3 steps: pick a broth, pick a sauce and pick a meat. Personally I always choose 'original pork bone' 'garlic and sesame oil sauce' and 'supreme angus beef combo.' It says combo but all the hot pots come with the same vegetables and noodles from what I've seen. The combos include chinese bok choy, radish, sweet potato, tofu, tomato, two types of noodles (clear, and thick like ramen), thin/long mushrooms, and cabbage. In order to flavor the soup properly I recommend adding the mushrooms, radish and bok choy first. You can tear these into bite sizes for easy eating. The garlic and sesame oil sauce has no added salt in it from what I can tell - I recommend adding a bit from the table as it's a bit bland. The meat quality is medium - there's decent marbling but it could definitely be softer and be sliced thinner. For the price I feel like it's very decent. There are also four add-ons that come with the table including garlic, crushed pepper oil, and green onions. I recommend adding a couple spoonfuls of each of these to the soup as it gives it a nice kick. The hot plate is pretty easy to handle. I don't speak chinese but what I've gathered is that the far right button (two concentric circles) is the on/off button. The middle right button is high heat, and the middle left button is low heat. I've no idea what the far left button is but I never had to touch it. This establishment is incredibly clean. The vegetables seem well washed, the tables don't feel sticky, everything seems new and in great shape. And of course each hot pot is individual so if you're someone who doesn't like sharing germs that could be a plus.

The hotpot here is great and the portions may be even too much for me. I think there is a good balance of vegetables and noodles as well. I went here a few months ago but since then it appears that the menu changed significantly. The food was still good though! There is a lunch special that lasts until 3 on weekdays that is even better. I really like the fact that everything is individual so each person can get exactly what they want! My only complaint is that the staff was very inattentive. It was difficult to get their attention to get things like water, despite the lack of other customers (we went at an off time).

Spicy beef pot. Three and a half. Comes out with all the ingredients in the pot already. Pretty spicy and good portions. My friends ordered the combos where you get a small pot of broth of your choosing with uncooked meats, veggies, and sides that comes separately for you to cook yourself. The pots are a little small so can’t fit too much food inside and have to be patient. The combos are just right portion for ladies, but may get hungry quickly. For guys will most likely need to add items a la carte.

Delicious build and cook your own hot pot. Quick and easy cooking at your table. Looking forward to going back. Two people, well fed at about $30.

I go to this place pretty often and the food is always mediocre. I went again today, and could tell the quality of the food was better and presentation was better as well. Turns out they have a new owner! Try it out!
