A great restaurant with excellent French bistro favorites as well as impressive upscale options, all within a comfortably elegant space designed with an automobile twist.
The staff is professional, friendly, and if you’re lucky you’ll be treated to the effortless style & razor sharp wit of co-owner Astrid.
One can have simple classics such as onion soup gratinée, escargot in parsley garlic butter, a cheese & charcuterie board, or mussels Provençal.
If one is looking to indulge, Chef & co-owner Patrick Jehanno has included upscale French favorites such as classic beef tartare, Osetra caviar with traditional accompaniments, and entrées such as delicious duck confit with potatoes gratin or the impressive “Moroccan Couscous Royal“ - featuring seasonal vegetables in a beautiful cumin broth with lamb, chicken, meatballs, and Merguez sausage!
It is a rather large space but it has an intimate and elegant feel to it; thanks to a thoughtful layout, antique automobile-inspired decor, and the unique display of two stunning vintage Citroën cars! There is exceptional attention to detail with each and every choice throughout the entire space. The surrounding Ghent countryside is inarguably beautiful, but it’s a treat to be virtually transported to France when one visits Shadow 66.
