Shah Ghouse

Tried the bheja fry for breakfast, and it was excellent! The spices were perfectly balanced – flavorful but not too spicy. The dish was cooked with onions that were cut so finely that you could enjoy the flavor without that strong “chewy onion” feel. A great start to the day for anyone who enjoys well-prepared traditional breakfast dishes.

Parking is difficult to find, and the place isn’t very hygienic. I noticed both a spider and a cockroach in the dining area, and even the handwash area was unclean. The shawarma was good, but the biryani was just average. Raita was almost at stale state . We informed the staff just noded

We ordered the mutton biryani. The biryani itself wasn't really special but it was not bad either. Mutton to rice ratio was really poor. We ordered a tandoori chicken to supplement meat (tandoori chicken was great). The service was rather pathetic and we had to struggle to get the staff's attention. Wait times for the food was also unacceptable. (Our visit time was around 3pm on a weekday). Pricing is really cheap though. Would have accepted higher prices for better service and quality.

I had tea here today and it was very nice. The owner welcoming customers with a smile is really appreciated 👍. However, a little more attention to hygiene is needed, as the person making the tea was eating gutka, which is not good. That said, the tea itself was good 👍.

I visited the Tolichowki branch of Shah Ghouse and enjoyed the flavorful Chicken Handi and must-try Patthar Gosht, perfectly complemented by soft, fresh Tandoori and Rumali rotis. However, upon entering, we received no assistance and had to locate the dining area ourselves. The service was poor, with the waiter arriving late, displaying an impolite and unnecessarily arrogant attitude.The ambiance and maintenance need significant improvement, and the restaurant's hygiene was very unclean and poorly maintained. At the takeaway counter on the ground floor, the cashier was rude, showed no respect for customers, failing to even ask what they wanted, likely due to their regular customers and high market demand. Additionally, parking is a major issue, so be cautious when parking. I will not visit this branch again.

A huge place with some parking. It has got sitting areas on various levels. Ample dining space. Staff not well trained or very hygienic. Non veg was good but vegetarian was below average. Toilets were almost pathetic.

The only biriyani and mandi rice i eat in Hyderabad is from Shah Ghouse only. I prefer these 4 location i.e. Gachibowli, Tolichowki, Kondapur and Lakdi ka Pool. Everytime I took biriyani or Mandi Rice, the taste is same always.

If you’re in Hyderabad and you don’t eat biryani, did you even come to Hyderabad? We ended up at Shah Ghouse not once, but twice, because the biryani was that good. On our very last day, we literally decided to wrap up the trip with one more plate here. That should tell you everything. I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a fan of Paradise biryani (sorry, not sorry 🙈). Shadab is good, no doubt but for me, Shah Ghouse is THE BEST. The rice is khile khile, full of aroma, and the meat? Oh my god ! tender, juicy, perfectly cooked, with that deep, rich flavour that only proper Hyderabadi biryani has. Every bite just feels like a party in your mouth. We also tried their Patthar ka Gosht — and wow. It was so soft and smoky, literally melted in the mouth. Definitely one of those dishes you don’t want to share. 😋 For dessert, we went with the Shehtoot ki Malai. It was okay, nothing life changing, but after that biryani + gosht combo, honestly nothing else stood a chance. Overall, if you want to experience the real deal Hyderabadi biryani, Shah Ghouse should be on top of your list. Budget-friendly, authentic, and absolutely satisfying. Solid 4/5 from me and that’s only because I never give 5 stars.
