9 Great Middle Eastern Markets In Miami

"Shahs Bazaar is a Persian market run by the folks behind the local restaurant chain Shahs Of Kabob. The small Coral Gables market has similar versions of their restaurant’s meals in a fridge to be reheated at home (the ghormeh sabzi is especially good). They also have labneh, a wide selection of spices, dried herbs, and an infectiously friendly cashier to meet you when you’re ready to check out. " - mariana trabanino, ryan pfeffer

This is hands down the best ice cream I’ve ever had in my life. The saffron rose flavor is unreal. It’s so refreshing, light, and just the right amount of floral without being too much. Every bite is smooth and perfectly balanced. I genuinely don’t know how I’m supposed to eat regular ice cream again. This flavor has ruined me in the best way. I’ll probably spend the rest of my life chasing this high. If you get the chance to try it, don’t think twice. It’s incredible.

Shahs Bazaar emerges as more than just a grocery store, but a destination for authentic Persian flavors and genuine hospitality!

A Hidden Gem for Culture, Cuisine, and Connection! Tucked away on US1 like a warm hug is this lovely Persian market that has quickly become one of my favorite places—not just for groceries, but for community and cultural immersion. From the moment you step inside, you're welcomed with a smile and the fragrant aroma of fresh herbs, saffron, rosewater, and spices that tell stories of a rich culinary tradition. The shelves are packed with everything you could dream of: barberries for zereshk polo, dried limes, endless varieties of tea, sangak and lavash breads, and a freezer section full of delights like fesenjan and ghormeh sabzi. And don’t even get me started on their sweets section - don't sleep on the prepared food items. But what really sets this market apart is the people. Hamid is incredibly kind and always willing to answer questions, whether it's about a recipe, an ingredient, or even how to pronounce something. As someone learning Persian, I’ve found these small conversations to be priceless. The friendly guidance, encouragement, and even occasional mini language lessons have truly enriched my journey. This market hasn’t just helped me recreate dishes I’ve fallen in love with—it’s helped me feel connected to a culture I deeply admire. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or just curious about Persian cuisine, this place is a must-visit. You’ll leave with a full bag and an even fuller heart. See you at Shahs Bazaar!

This grocery store is truly amazing, offering a wide variety of Persian and Middle Eastern products and foods. They also have a fantastic selection of delicious, freshly prepared homemade dishes. The owner, Hamid, is incredibly friendly and always makes you feel welcome. I highly recommend this grocery store to anyone looking for a one-stop shop for Middle Eastern products and flavors!

This place is a hidden gem! It’s a family owned business that represents the rich Persian culture. You’ll be welcomed in the most hospitable way and often with a cup of cardamom tea! They also have samples for most items. Don’t miss the homemade food that’s cooked with love by a Persian mom and it exactly tastes like it. They have a variety of pantry essentials, Persian snacks, sweets and even the seasonal items.

I am so happy to have found a proper Persian Supermarket. I found everything I needed for Norooz plus pastries like Zoolbia Bamie. For those of you looking for Persian goods like Lavashak, Nabaut, SAMANOO, shirini Nokhodi, lavash bread etc. then go there. ☺️

I absolutely love this little Persian grocery store! It's truly a hidden gem in the neighborhood. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with the warmest smiles and a wonderful aroma of spices and fresh herbs. Their selection is incredible for a store of its size. From authentic Persian saffron and rosewater to dried fruits, nuts, and fresh flatbreads they have it all. What stands out the most is the quality of their products. Everything feels thoughtfully curated, and you can tell they prioritize freshness. I was thrilled to find rare ingredients that you just can’t get at larger supermarkets. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is always so helpful, offering recommendations or tips for preparing traditional dishes. Whether you're stocking up on pantry essentials or trying Persian cuisine for the first time, this store is a must-visit. It’s not just a place to shop. This is an experience that celebrates Persian culture and hospitality. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Cute little grocery store with mostly Persian and Turkish items but has your staple spices and flours! Also has halal meat and cooked, packaged meals you purchase. Very kind staff as well. Lots of parking behind the store as well.

Yelp
So yesterday, for the first time, I went to Shah Bazaar. I found out about this place some time ago when I went to Shahs of Kebab and asked them for some very specific and hard-to-find Iranian dessert and delicacies. They gave me a business card for this store and said that what I wanted will always be available in this store. From the outside, this store is almost invisible. A small market place which serves as an extension to Shahs of Kebab, but let me tell you something, what this store lacks in size, it makes up for it in hospitality. From the second I stepped into the store, I was taken back nearly 40 years to the small stores on Iran, where you were not a customer and them the shop owner, but rather this was their home and you were their guest. A time when customer service meant something and word of mouth was the only way to grow the business. From the second we walk in, they gave us tea and let us sample all sorts of items that were at display. They were knowledgeable in their products and in the end gave us freebies for just visiting their store. They had freshly made food, desserts, and delicacies, and they said that if I wanted any dish at all, they would prepare it in a day or so. Even when I asked for items they didn't have, they didn't just say no, we don't have it, they offered similar items and helped to find what I was looking for. I am sure many of you may know a small moms and pops Indian, turkish, or middle eastern shops that you go to in order to find rare spices. Over the last 20-30, the food from this region has become more popular and so people look for ingredients for these food. But I can tell you that many of items sold in this Iranian store are not found elsewhere. That is because of Iranian politics, the food, and not just the food, also the culture and the history of Iran, has remained isolated and is mostly unknown to the western culture. For that reason, what you find in such stores, the food and the desserts, cannot be found in other stores, at least not the way it is made in Iran. So if you are looking for something exotic, go to this store and try out different sweets. You may enjoy it.

Yelp
Finally! A Persian grocery store. This was soooo needed. Love the Arabs, but Arab super markets just don't carry the Persian essentials like Sadaf Albaloo, our bread, and other exclusively Persian items. I'm really thankful that this little gem has opened, so that anyone who is a fan of the Persian cuisine now has a go to spot. Also, they have lavashak , which I can't wait to try. Can't wait to support this Persian business.
