Shahs of Kabob Coral Gables Review - Coral Gables - Miami - The Infatuation

"This is the third location for the self-proclaimed kings of kabob. It’s a casual Persian restaurant on Ponce that’s perfect for a quick lunch with the office gang. There are high tops for larger parties and a long banquette by the wall if you’re tired of pictures of Natalia’s nephew and want to sit alone. Our favorite thing to order here is the joojeh sultani platter. It comes with one chicken and one beef/lamb skewer, plus a heap of rice and a salad. The salad isn’t too memorable, but the skewers are tender and so big they drape over the edge of the plate. It’s perfect to share between two people. We wouldn’t come to this fast-casual spot for a date or formal dinner, but it’s great for lunch or any easy weeknight meal. " - Virginia Otazo

This is 2nd location we tried in two days during our stay in Miami. Both stores have same excellent taste. This location is located Ponce Leon Blvd, Coral Gables, FL. This location ambiance is excellent. Great food with excellent service. There Beef and chicken kebobs are juicy and tender.

Google
Food is exceptional, and service is great. Clean and quiet. The cooks and staff are amazing. They make you feel welcome. I highly recommend coming here for a good and healthy meal. It is a plus that they do not use seed oils, and the meals are always freshly made on the spot. This place defines consistency.

Nobody had to ask me to leave a review. They just serve the best food out there. 100% delicious and recommended!

Google
The food here is so delicious. I work close by so I eat here once a week and sometimes twice a week and my coworkers all come here also. Yummy food and great fast service. I recommend this place highly.

Google
This spot is absolutely amazing. Love their food, and service. They never fail to be kind and we leave smiling. We usually like to order their Kebob Kobedeh platter or the Kobedeh wraps. Many excellent sides to choose from as well. It's one of our family favorites!

Google
Best of the best kabobs you can ever find in the US. Their buttery chicken and meat just melt in your mouth. The rice is fluffy and always well cooked. Never get tired from eating here!

Google
The food is really good. They also gives you a big portion. We took a platter for 4-5 persons and it fed 6 of us. We were really satisfied with the quality of the food and the quantity. Be aware that it is a really small place and have only 2 table inside. But you can dine outside as they have some tables there.

Google
The stars are purely because it was one of the best kabobs I’ve ever tasted. Perfectly cooked and flavored. We got beef/lamb. Unfortunately, we didn’t really enjoy anything else we ordered. Salad was boring, rice was fine, hummus was okay, the pita wasn’t any better than a store bought wheat tortilla. We ordered two slices of cake which we were really excited about. The chocolate one was dry, which was disappointing. And although I’m not a huge fan of passion fruit, that slice had great flavor and was a pleasurable experience to taste. Food was good but I wouldn’t return if I was in the area again. The music was far too loud while we ate.

Yelp
Warmly welcome by all in the restaurant, small space but easy to find seats. Food was superb and freshly made. Our server was amicable and proper. The family platter was perfect for our group. Can't say enough about the food. Will return for sure!!!

Yelp
Shahs of Kabob is the most amazing Persian restaurant in the world. I've tried Persian food in many cities and nothing compares to shahs of Kabob. They have so many locations to choose from. Every single thing on the menu is amazing and authentic Iranian dishes. All the locations are so kind and treat you like family and the food is always consistent. I could eat here every day. If you've never tried Iranian food this is the restaurant to try great quality ingredients with delicious flavors. The chicken kabob and ground beef meat is so delicious and we order it at least once a week. A must try in Florida in any location. They also offer catering so amazing.

Yelp
I ordered the small koobideh plate with rice and salad and 3 oz hummus for dinner. It was delicious and fresh- a lot of rice and salad, I could eat maybe half of it. Would try other things from there for sure. Service was quick and pleasant.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing people. Very kind and nice. Everyone was so nice and food was so good that I will definitely be back for sure.

Yelp
Food was great and service was quick. Perfect spot for quick take out. We ordered a family platter and it came with so much food. The meats were tender and juicy. The only thing I really was not a fan of was the garlic sauce. I had higher hopes for it, but it tasted like just blended garlic and mayo. Otherwise, the the mast khiar (cucumber yogurt sauce) and the shirazi salad was great.

Yelp
Cool to have this option in Miami area for those who enjoy Persian cuisine. It's a fast food style and your dish is prepared right then in front of you as kabobs are cooked fresh per your order. I liked the taste and the value for the portion and quality. All nice.

Yelp
This is a great find and if you don't know the area you would miss it. We went for lunch and got the Koobideh Small Plate, the meat was seasoned perfectly and was delicious so was the Joojeh Small Plate, the chicken was so tender. They both came with rice and salad and it was a great meal.

Yelp
Seriously delicious Persian food. It's a fast food set up, though there are a few tables and they will bring your order to the table if you eat in. We ordered the Koobideh, which is lamb+beef skewers, and a fesenjooh stew, which is chicken with pomegranate and walnut. Overall the food is excellent, tasty and also healthful. While I usually like fesenjooh, this one is a bit too tart for me, and lacking the garnish of arils and parsley, looks a bit drab. We also try the yogurt drink, which is totally different from your average American yogurt drink. It's seasoned with salt rather than sugar, and is rather tart. Definitely an acquired taste. Overall, really pleased with our first experience and will definitely be back!

Yelp
I've been getting my weekend family meals from Shahz for over a year and the consistency in quality of the food, service and cleanliness is truly above and beyond. I usually get surprise visits and my go to place is Shahs. The meals for 5-7 people are generous, tasty and crafted with delicious flavors. Best place in town for Iranian food.

Yelp
Muy rápido y rico. He pedido Koobideh wrap, era agrande por trece dólares. Los muros tienen mensajes escrito de mano por motivación. Fui aquí por almuerzo y comí a las mesas afueras. Era muy viento pero no es la culpa del restaurante.

Yelp
Went to get dinner since it was rated 5 star on yelp. It was delicious, and definitely worth the 5 star. We ordered the family platter and there were so much food. Definitely enough to feed 3-4 people. The place is small and the workers were a little loud with the cooking appliances, other than that, definitely a nice hidden place in the area.

Yelp
I've been here a bunch of times and it always tastes amazing. I get the same thing every-time and the staff is so sweet and welcoming! The only only bad thing is the parking but other than that, it's amazing. I get the same thing every time; koobideh platter, half rice half salad with cranberries and walnuts. The best thing about this place is their sauces. I get 4 types of sauces each time and I make sure I eat all 4 with my meal. Their baklava isn't the best but the food is absolutely incredible. It's light but filling at the same time. Definitely recommend and will definitely continue coming back!

Yelp
This is the original location, may be less fancy in terms of ambiance but excellent food flavor! I can eat here every day ... and they have the best service.

Yelp
Food: Fresh, scrumptious, and tons of food! The quality of every dish is very well deserved and the flavors are all there. Definitely enjoyed every bit of our meal. We ordered two large Koobideh platters with rice. You can choose the choice of salad or rice or half/half for an additional charge. The hummus with unlimited house bread is super fresh honestly the freshest hummus I have tried to this day. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food received (: 5 out of 5! Service: The manager and staff are very kind and give outstanding customer service as soon as you walk through the door! 5 out of 5! Ambiance: The ambiance is very chill vibes not too noisy or too quite. Colorful decor and walls. Very cool and modern in my opinion. P.S- Yelpieess please check in to receive that 10%OFF your meal! Yelp
This small cute restaurant is in the heart of South Miami. This restaurant you can either take out or has about 2 or 3 tables inside to dine in. The menu is displayed on 2 large screens right in front of the cash register to place your order. The food was delicious. I was able to order a shrimp skewer full meal, which I saved for late because it was a lot of food. My coworkers ordered the chicken and meat, I believe it was beef. Being a pescatarian, I was uber excited that they had shrimp. The humus was also devine with great flavor. The only downside was that the tortillas used for the humus was hard! I did not enjoy them. I wish they used a softer pita or a bread similar to naan or even a pita chip, but that was not good. If my bread was on point, then I would have rated this place 5 stars! All in all, decent prices for the amount of food.

Yelp
I just realized they have their own store (I've been going to their shop inside the Shoma Bazaar in Doral)!! I'll leave a review for the Shoma Bazaar location as it doesn't seem they have a separate Yelp page for that one (I'll leave out anything that's not food, to make this a fair review). I looove their food. Delicious and fresh. We always go for the grilled mixed platter because it comes with a very generous serving of rice and salad that I always crave. It's also a great dish to try out all of their meats. They're tender and Juicy.

Yelp
Food: 3 Service: 4 (UberEats) Order: Joojah Wrap, Hummus, Small Loaded Salad Date/Time: 12/17/2022 8pm Ordered online via UberEats who delivered a little later than estimated time, but close enough. Bread is a very thin tortilla that hardens quick so a microwave is suggested to keep it soft (unfortunately not available in the hotel room). Hummus is heavy on something that has a slight taste of onion and garlic with very little, if any, lemon juice. Wrap and salad were tasty. I'd recommend the restaurant if you are close by and just don't have many choices you want to eat, but if you want a wrap or hummus and pita, I would suggest another place.

Yelp
I follow a Foodie on IG & she posted this place I saw it and decided to come and have dinner with my daughter first the place is super cool it's called Shoma Bazaar they differed places where you can order food but today I choose Shahs of Kabob a Persian food spot , the guy who attended me I think was named Joe super nice , supper attentive he helped me pick out what to eat , my food was delicious , the meat great quality , the shrimp were jumbo and delicious, our salad was loaded with everything it was delicious, I also ordered a hummus which was perfection! I definitely recommend enjoy the pictures! This place has a great Ambiance, nice aesthetics, good music playing in the background even a bar in the middle !

Yelp
Persian food is one of my favorite cuisines and this place did not disappoint! The koubideh kabobs were so juicy and flavorful. The sauce that came with the dish went perfectly with it.
google avatar

Yelp
This hidden gem instantly became a favorite. So much so I had it two days in a row! I always appreciate a flavorful & finely chopped salad. Don't forget to add some sauce, they're all great! Side note: All employees are super attentive and kind which we greatly appreciated! The touch of authenticity in their plates did not go unnoticed! Photos are unfortunately my Togo order on day
google avatar

Yelp
I wish that I was living in Miami to eat from this place every day. Salad was tasted super fresh with tons of nuts and berries. Fresh cheese made the salad signature of this place. Loved the combination kabob especially the chenjeh ( the cubes of fillet mignons) and beef koobideh. We sat in the airplane that night after the delicious food and for me it was only sadness of not tasting this kabob for the rest of my life anymore .
google avatar

Yelp
If you have not eaten at Shahs of Kabob yet then you are missing out big time. I found this place when it had just opened and was still pick up or delivery only on a day I had a training in South Miami. Ever since, I've eaten there or ordered several times. It never fails to deliver a most delicious small variety of kabobs that are so tender and juicy, and full of flavors. I often order the family meal that comes with 4 Skewers Koobideh Kabob (koftah style or minced meat kabob), 2 Skewer Joojeh Kabob (chicken), and 2 Skewer Chenjeh Kabob (steak) served with rice, 5 grilled tomatoes, pita bread, 16 once of Mastokhair and 16 once of shirazi salad. It is a very generous amount of food and they have different sizes of family platters that will feed 3-5 or 5-7 people. The rice is cooked to perfection and the sauces and salads are a great accompaniment to the meat. The bread they lay down under the skewers soaks up the juices of the meat and is just another great addition to this delectable meal. The tasty grilled tomatoes are another item they add to their generous orders. The staff is very nice and always helps me carry out the food to the car when it's a big order. So next time you are in South Miami, don't forget to try this joint out. You will not regret it.

Ajade N.

Yelp
The food was over priced. I was charged $28 for a steak salad. The steak had had a weird smell to it but the salad was decent but I don't understand how it was $28 for it. Didn't even come with a drink. Just a bowl of salad and steak kabob. The customer service was good and the food came out fast but I feel like I ordered a salad in Tokyo somewhere at a fine dinning restaurant. It doesn't add up for me, won't be returning.

Yelp
New fave!!! Food quality and taste is amazing! Wish they had lunch specials - I'd be here several times a week. It's a bit small but I believe the other locations have more seating. Must try!

Crazy R.

Yelp
All around Poor experience was treating the staff for lunch (order 5 plates) and they forget all the Sauce (which elevates the food) They forgot THE DIET COKE All of the salad tasted unwashed Hummus tasted SOUR , was definitely spoiled+ extra pita was burnt a team members asked for no onions and they added a huge half of a red onion as a garnish
google avatar

Sergio M.

Yelp
There is promise and possibility here. And I really wanted to like this place. Found it by accident, came with my better half who had not tried Persian good before. Did not realize it was a fast casual kind of place as opposed to a sit down order from a waiter kind of place.... I probably did not pay enough attention Jon to their website photos. The eggplant appetizer to start was zesty and yummy -- it just needed a little salt. The mini tortilla grilled pita like fluffy things were on point. The fensenjoon (one of my favorites) was not balanced enough. It was too sweet. The basmati rice was delish. Lots of it. Could have had less. I forgot how heavy and filling Persian food is. We should have ordered less. Coming here filled the craving -- but next time I would order less and have my salt shaker on hand just in case....

Gigi R.

Yelp
Delicious and fresh food. Incredible service. This place is a gem! I wish I could give it 10 starts. Finding good food in Miami is so challenging. So happy I found this placse!
google avatar

Eat2Review W.

Yelp
I ordered from this AMAZING restaurant thru UberEats. Food arrived hot, presentation was beautiful, everything was so nicely plated and FRESH!!!! Salad was delish, grilled tomato was charred just perfect and juicy, rice was great and the chicken kabob WOW!!!! Juicy, tender and flavorful. I've ordered from this establishment before but had to post a review because your food is always great, appreciate that you guys put so much effort to delivery service as you do when we eat there in person. Oh I almost forgot...THANK YOU for the Sumac sauce, you didn't forget and I LUV this sauce (can you luv sauce... Humm, well I can lol). Thanks again guys keep you the GREAT way you serve your customers
google avatar

Jimi L.

Yelp
If you have never had Persian food this is a great place for some introduction plates ... The portions are big ... prices are fair .... the food is good, yet basic ... maybe because we went to the south Miami location so we didn't get the vibes of a great experience .. this location in south Miami is bare bones and tiny ... parking is next door in a garage .. their is limited street parking around the restaurant. This place would be great if it was a sit down service but you order at the counter and then you pick up your food also at the counter (at least the day we were there) so service is non existent ... wish there would be explanation of plates and sides ... Maybe next time we go to the Coral Gables location for more ambiance ...

Yelp
Such a hole in the wall! By far the BEST lebanese food I have ever had. I got the koobideh plate and my friend got the joojeh plate. First bite was an absolute delight. and so was the second, third, fourth, all the way up to the last. The koobideh kebab was so so tender and juicy, a flavor blast in my mouth. I will say it was a bit fatty, but fat=flavor, right? I'm not complaining!! The service was great. The waiter let us try all the sauces, which were all really unique and complimented the meat really well. The salad with the vinaigrette was refreshing and provided a great contrast against the deep flavor of the kebabs. We ate and left noooo crumbs. (see evidence in photo) Highly recommend
google avatar

Robert C.

Yelp
Return or not return? RETURN, checks every box. Parking not so easy, place small, but food and service warrants another trip. Cashier guy was polite, friendly, and respectful. Koobideh was solid as wasn't "ground beef" like many other places. Chicken was juicy, tender and flavorful. Only small issue was the amount of rice was great, but could get dry without another tomato or some onions, cucumbers, etc...3 types of sauces was great. Yellow one was the best with a pleasant, zesty, lemon juice/acid note.

Yelp
Food here is amazing! If your into quick Mediterranean food like Rice Kitchen or others out there, do no skip out on Shahs, they have them beat! Huge portions. Extremely flavorful and well cooked! Will not disappoint!!!

Maya G.

Yelp
A great hole in the wall Persian place. Portions are generous and ingredients were fresh, the meat is halal certified. Great place for a quick lunch!

Charlotte P.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! The people were friendly and most helpful. We dined at an outdoor table but most of their business is takeout. There is no ambience.
google avatar

Nuket F.

Yelp
We ordered from this place couple times already and they deliver it !! Taste delicious smells wonderful as a Turkish I cook similar recipes at home sometimes I take a break and order from here
google avatar

Nat A.

Yelp
I enjoy eating here. I have to drive a bit to get there but I think it's worth it. The wait is never long, the people are friendly, and the place is clean and cute.

Carla C.

Yelp
The food is great. The service is fine. But I must always get my food To-go. I have never been to a restaurant where the cooks bang around the equipment so hard and loud that it makes me jump. It's almost like the cook is so pissed off that he has to work, he's slamming anything metal he can find. Very disturbing
google avatar

Francesca M.

Yelp
My first time trying Persian food left me thoroughly impressed. The meats were exceptionally well-seasoned and packed with flavor, while the salad was both light and delicious. We ordered the mixed grill with rice and salad, which proved to be more than enough for three people. The restaurant was clean, and the music added a trendy touch. It has quickly become one of my new favorite spots to eat!
google avatar

Dina G.

Yelp
The ghormeh sabzi is AMAZING but even more impressive is the customer service: I called because the website showed that there was no tahdig available. The owner made me two orders on the spot! Thank you so much for the kind gesture!!!
google avatar

Maryam K.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. It's pretty far from me but when I'm craving Persian food this is where I go. My go to orders are chenjeh with rice (grilled sirloin chunks) or koobideh (ground beef kabab). Ask for a side of roasted tomatoes and enjoy with rice. Their rice is perfectly cooked for my Persian yelpers. Not too greasy not too dry and they always give me a side of sabzi which is the cherry on top. Foodie tip: check out their market about a mile from the restaurant called "shah bazaar" they have ready to go daily specials and tons of treats!
google avatar

Claudia J.

Yelp
I had seen this place for some time.... But definitely wanted to try it out. Ingredients are definitely fresh. Rice is fluffy, meat is tender... but prices are a bit steep. And this fast food place has many take out orders. They have a couple of tables inside, they will serve with disposable utensils, etc. good quality of food but TOO expensive. They recently opened a Doral location.

Omar A.

Yelp
Shahs of kebob has the best Persian kebobs in Miami. Service is always amazing. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Homie D.

Yelp
We live in LA, and we spent one week in Miami for my son's spring break. We located Shaws Kabob on the Internet in the Coral Gables neighborhood. We tried to have lunch, and we ordered jujeh kabob, beef soltani, salad, kashk, and hummus. We are speechless about the quality of kabobs and other foods which we ordered. It was cooked perfectly with the excellent tender quality beef and chicken with Saferan taste and Persian rice. My son was crying the next day, and he asked to go to the Shahs Kabob. We invited our other friends to join us for lunch with us. Everybody had a great lunch and was pleased to know Shahs of Kabob restaurant. I want to recommend it to everybody if you wish to have a taste of Persia. The services were excellent and respectful servers. Thank you to the chef, management, a nd staff.
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely proud ownership that truly cares about the food they put on front of you. Excellent and attentive service and portions they are very large. We all left feeling 100% satisfied and will be back when we next visit.
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
I love Shahs. My girlfriend and I have this place as one of our favorites for a good healthy meal that doesn't require sitting down at a fancy restaurant. The staff is always so nice and inviting, we've made recommendations to friends and it's quickly become a hit. Please give it a try!
google avatar

Cristina O.

Yelp
YUMMMM!!! Was leaving a doctor's appointment when I ran right into this place. Truth be told, the aromas coming from Shahs struck me while I was still around the corner & as soon as I saw the store front, decided to have lunch there. I ordered the hummus (good, but loved the lavash even more) and the Joojeh Wrap (Chicken marinated in house seasoning wrapped in lavish bread served with: tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber and onions, along with you choice of sauce and extras) and my dad chose the Koobideh Small Plate (Strip of seasoned meat, Broiled on Open Fire served with your choice of grain or salad). Everything was delicious & will most certainly be back!
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
Hands down the best Persian food in all of Miami. Amin makes you feel at home and always treats you like family! Highly recommend the joojeh (chicken), koobideh (lamb), shrimp, and filet! Be sure to try the Sumac sauce (yellow sauce) and the loaded salad!
google avatar

Maria Isina A.

Yelp
I do not live around that area but went to a plant nursery around South Miami. This is how I ended up going to the Shahs of Kabob, and I liked it very much. First, I want to congratulate this local business for what they do for the community. To everyone that would like to contribute, you can donate a meal and pay in advance. They will post the ticket on the wall, so anyone in need can go in, grab a ticket, and access to a free meal. No questions asked--two thumbs up to whoever came up with this idea. I have not seen it anywhere else. They offer a short menu but very tasty. They have appetizers like hummus, and then you can order small or large plates of kebob. The sides are bread and salads or rice with tomatoes. The sauces are garlic, garlic cilantro, among others. They offer a few desserts too. Super affordable, and If you stay to eat in, they serve the food. The place is tiny, so they have a couple of tables on the inside and three tables outside. Highly recommended if you are in South Miami.
