Loved the mom & pop shop feel of this classic burger joint. The western BBQ bacon burger was hearty and delicious without being too sloppy. The menu had pleasant variety without being overwhelming. I always appreciate a good corndog, and this place did them pretty well. The service was fantastic, and although there was a pretty good wait time, the food and service were worth it. Overall a solid A grade.

My family and I stopped in for dinner on an early Sunday evening. It was pretty busy when we first got there and was a full house by the time we left. We ordered the Garlic Cheese Curds, BBQ Bacon Burger, Club Melt, Mushroom Burger, and a Strawberry Shake - made with Umpqua ice cream. It was what you would expect from that “hole-in-the-wall” that all the locals frequent: great service and the food was absolutely delicious with ginormous portions.

Got me a Juicy Lucy double stacked cheesy filled hamburger with the black pepper/garlic fries today. Fries were absolutely heaven perfectly crispy, the burger immediately farted out my cheesy interior onto the fries, so no cheesy hamburger cake, but still yummy and worth the trip. Great local burger joint, been around for decades and serves an honest meal. The shakes are yummy, but always too cold!?🤪

Honestly after the reviews I had much higher expectations. The hand dipped corn dog I assumed was made fresh was soggy and old. See 2nd photo. The fries were cold and mushy. The shakes were fine but it’s just vanilla soft serve nothing special for $8 4 meals and 3 shakes was over $80. Definitely not worth it.

Food was decent, fries were too mushy but our burgers were at least good. Id give it a better review but our teenage male waiter had no personality. He slammed down our drink, tossed our straws on the table and when we asked him if the sandwich was a good choice to order he said idk I don't eat ham so I never get it. The snakes at the next table looked super good though so maybe I'll try one of them to go next time for sure

Great burgers for a great price. The staff was awesome! We enjoyed our dinner. What a nice place to visit. They have wonderful french fries 🍟 😋 This is a family friendly restaurant. They give you a whole bottle of ranch and Fry sauce to use at your table. Staff was very Accommodating to my dietary needs. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Filled up my teenager we didn't leave hungry.

I don’t know if they have gotten a new cook or a new manager but I haven’t been here in over 2 years and at that time it was absolutely amazing!!! The burgers were huge, the fries were crunchy outside and so soft and nice inside. this time was absolutely disgusting fries were kinda the same but not as good, and I can’t put in words of how I’m so confused on how the burgers are disgusting now

Classic burger joint with excellent food and crazy good milk shakes. This is what I assume an old school burger joints were like in the 50s with a modern ambiance. They have hand dipped shakes as well. Service was fast and very nice . I would comeback any time I'm in the area

Yeah every fast food burger joint is in Coos Bay, BUT, why drive all the way to Coos Bay to eat a burger you can get anywhere? Nah, support a family run local business which serves up a good cheese burger for $6.50. Yes, SIX DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS!!!!!!!! The locals eat here for a good reason. Check it out.

Well, my favorite food is a good hamburger. That being said, they make one heck of a delicious hamburger with a personal touch of excellence. In this day and time it is so pleasant to pull up and see happy pleasant people Eco to help you with whatever you need. It's located in Bunker Hill right next to 711. The inside of the business is very clean and I would recommend them all day long.

The service was tremendous and the food was exactly what we needed while driving down the coast. A quick stop with amazing food and good people. For $20 it's about the best lunch you're gonna get.

Awesome hamburgers! Staff is great too...so friendly. I drove through so I haven't been inside. My dog gets a cup of ice cream while we wait. Best burgers ever, big and decently priced. My go-to place when I'm craving.

The burgers were good old fashioned burgers and the single was plenty big enough. The fries while hot were some of the best I've had in ages. My husband had a chocolate shake which was so think you had to start with a spoon. It tasted chocolaty too. The price was reasonable, shakes are a little spendy, but the burger baskets weren't bad at all. We would return the next time we are in town.

Stopped here on a drive up the coast, like I'm sure is the case for most people. The food was good, don't get me wrong. I especially enjoyed the black pepper and garlic seasoning on the twisted (curly) fries. My burger was big and messy and exactly what I was expecting. But the cleanliness! The bathroom was atrocious and the tables were all so dirty when we came in. They only had about two parties sitting and they still had to wipe a table for us to sit. Those two things automatically put such a bad taste in your mouth when you come into a restaurant that I can't give more than three stars. Hopefully it was just an off day because if it's like that all the time it's a big sanitation issue.

Food. Service. Ambiance. All of it. My favorite is the staff. They had yummy gluten free buns and fries. It is a family favorite for us to stop by here on our way home from the coast. Kiddos happy. Hubby happy. We are happy :)

Ordered at our table, a single with cheese in a basket and a chocolate shake. Great tasting burger, large order of crispy fries, but the shake was crazy good. Way too much goodness for me. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely returning here with a bigger appetite. Thanks for the great meal.

Cool little burger joint. The food and drinks are phenomenal! Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a burger and fries (get the fry sauce)! Strawberry lemonade is a must! The only con about this place is there are some gnarly waits sometimes because it gets busy. But the food is worth it!

Oh my goodness-- where do I start?? If you're hungry for all the things an old school classic burger joint offers, then Shake N Burger is the place to go! If you're very, very hungry, it's still the place to go, because the portions are gigantic and super tasty! The burgers are cooked fresh to order from fresh made patties with all the fixings. So melty and juicy, we savored every bite! They have a huge selection of sides, but we opted for the batter-dipped onion rings and the fresh cut, made-to-order curly fries. They hand-dip their corn dogs, so we decided to try one of those too. It did not disappoint!! My husband ordered a milkshake as well, which was made with hand-dipped Umpqua ice cream, so you know it was amazing also! When we received our massive bag of food, they had already packed it full of several high quality napkins, multiple cups of fry sauce and plenty of packets of organic ketchup! This is definitely on our must-stop list when we're on the Oregon Coast visiting our friends, and I'm betting that after you go there, it'll be on yours too!!!

Moving down part time to coos county as someone who needs gluten free food seemed daunting. But finding out that Shake n Burger offers gluten free has been such a blessing. Delicious classic burgers, amazing shakes, and their twisted fries are reminiscent of the boardwalk fries I grew up eating on many summer trips to the coast. Im so thankful that we can make them a part of our regular trips to town. Definitely recommend them for the GFers and normies alike!

Visiting this local gem for burgers and traditional shakes feels like stepping back into the 1950s. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and a menu that stays true to classic favorites while offering delightful twists on the originals. Although the seating is a bit limited, it adds to the cozy, nostalgic charm. However, expanding the space and updating the restroom would only enhance the experience and allow more people to enjoy this beloved spot. This place is truly a staple of our town, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious meal! Ps. The shakes are amazing! And addictive!

Servers are nice and helpful. The food was fresh and tasted so good! We tried milkshakes, burgers, a chili dog and of course a corn dog. Corn dog was a little greasy but overall really good.

The pocket burger is perfect! It was well dressed with all the extras. So good! The regular fries are crisp and well cooked on the inside. It was a very large amount. I'm excited to pass this along.

Fun, friendly and quick service. The restaurant is clean and festive (decorated for Valentine's Day). The shakes are made to order and thick and creamy, and very flavorful. We got the burgers with everything on them, added cheese and bacon to the pocket burger. The burgers are really good, classic burger joint style, fresh toppings and tasty beef. No complaints from me. I will be happy to go again and try other items on the menu.

Excellence Service- the way it should be. I actually felt like a guest who wasn't bothering them for showing up to eat dinner. Simple diner feel. Great burger, fries done right, a big squeeze bottle of house fry sauce brought to the table. Cheese Curds! OMG! Stupidly good. We went back the next day for the soft serve- also did not disappoint.

Burgers that are perfection. We're talking old school crispy edges, buns with the perfect toast. Cold lettuce and tomato- *chefs kiss. Fam had shakes, all raved about them. They had lots of choices. My husbands comments were 'yeah, I'd drive 4 hours for this'. And we just might.

Total accidental find! We were driving through on Hwy 101 and started thinking about getting some lunch. Since we still aren't too keen on dining in yet due to COVID, we saw "Drive thru" on the Shake n Burger sign and made a spur of the moment decision to try it. Turns out the decision was a great one! Since it was lunch time, there were lots of people going in and out of the place but the drive thru lane was empty so we pulled up and studied the menu. A very pleasant woman's voice came through he speaker and told us to take our time, she'd be back in a few minutes. When she returned we had decided on two single patty bacon cheeseburger baskets with regular fries ($9.95 each). The burgers are topped with mayo, shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and their homemade burger sauce. We proceeded to the pickup window to pay for and pickup our made-to-order food. The whole process took less than 10 minutes, service was friendly, and our order was packaged and bagged perfectly. We decided to pull into a parking spot in front of the restaurant and had a grand scenic view of the traffic on hwy 101 while we ate. Our burgers were juicy, perfectly cooked and just the right size -not huge and not small- nicely wrapped so it was easy to eat them out of hand in the cab of our truck. The French fries may have had a light coating or batter on them which I'm not a fan of, but these were hot and seasoned perfectly. I'm a proponent of eating fries without ketchup if they are good fries (only imperfect fries need ketchup imho). These needed no ketchup! The burger meat was lean and tasted fresh; the bacon slice was thick and nicely smoked. The menu overall is typical of a burger joint. Besides burgers (single, double, and triple patties), they offer grilled sandwiches, a BLT served on Texas toast, a few salads, hot dogs, hand-dipped corn dogs, chili, & onion rings, plus they have a pretty good kids menu (that includes chocolate pudding!). Also as expected, they have fountain drinks, hand-dipped cones, milkshakes, malts, as well as root beer floats and ice cream sundaes. They also have an "Old fashioned" banana split that looked good enough to share. Maybe next time... We didn't go inside but it is a busy place at lunchtime. Lots of parking available and the best view of Hwy 101 to enjoy lunch by! We'll definitely go back if in Coos Bay again. A solid 5 stars.

Stopped here for a burger basket. Burger is okay and is a decent size. Fries on the other hand see you getting enough for two people! Did the drive-up deal. Wait was around 5 minutes for the order, which is good for something made to order. The lady who was handling the window is a very pleasant person. When you leave, watch the traffic conditions as 101 can get rather busy. When you eat, see if you have a real appetite. You are going to need it! Shake N Burger's portion size will leave you stuffed!

I don't know where my previous review of this restaurant went, so it looks like I may have to rewrite. This happened in 2017. So much to unpack here...this was when we visited their old location on "D" street, but unless their ownership changed then I am guessing their customer service and cleanliness has not changed. We were excited about this place because the locals spoke so highly of their burgers. When we got there there was one other table occupied and then we sat down. The only waitress there finished up the order at the other table and then left and we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited...you see where this is going right. Nothing. The waitress brought out the other tables food which was 2 tables away and did nothing. Another group came in and then the waitress brought our water to our table and their table...it had now been about 15-20 minutes. The local at our table ordered a Diet Pepsi (DP) and I left to use the bathroom and told the missus what I would like to order. I went into the bathroom and was greeted by a horror show, the photos attached are actually the best...I am not going to show the smears and stains that were also in there...I thought..."Nope, I can hold it" and went out. Getting back to the table the waitress came out and dropped off the DP and took the other tables order and then went back to the kitchen. The other table had left at this point. The person who ordered the DP tasted it and it was all carbonation and tasted funny to boot. But good luck getting any service. Another table came in and were seated and had their drinks given and shortly after their order taken. We waited, and waited, and waited some more. Finally, the food came out to the table that came in a good 20 minutes after us. Final straw, camel back broken...whatever. We got up to leave and stopped by the register...The waitress stated "oh your leaving, let me get your ticket". "only a DP" she said...But the local tried to tell her that it tasted like garbage...blank stare back. We just paid for the DP and left...went to Captains Choice...where the bathrooms were cleaner and we actually got served food. End Saga. I am saving this one, so if Yelp wants to remove it again...repost

Love this spot. Great burgers, fries are good. Shakes and malts are terrific. I like to call in and get takeout on my way home, they are usually pretty quick

A burger place with friendly, attentive staff, and a menu with many delicious sounding burger options. My companions and myself all had a very good Garden burger; which also comes with a *large* side of fries accompanied by tasty dipping sauce. The ambience is, well... a hamburger place. However, the food and attentive service are certainly something to look forward to! .

When we first walked up to the place, and going inside- we sort of assumed the food would be kinda gross. Outside had trash everywhere, you could smell the grease etc. inside was small and the floors were kind of a mess. But. We were surprised by our food, it was delicious!! The waitress was super nice as well. They were extremely busy so I imagine that's why the floors looked the way they did. Great food for a reasonable price!

I was driving by and decided to try the Shake N Burger. The drive-thru was empty so I was able to pull right up and view the menu. I selected a regular cheeseburger and tater tots. When I arrived at the window the rep was friendly and wished me a good day. The food arrived fairly quickly and was steaming hot and aromatic. The tater tots were wonderfully seasoned and deliciously crisp! YUM The burger was very good and I enjoyed the lettuce, tomato and onions on top! I recommend you stop in for a bite!

Wanted to love this place, but... The food was GREAAAAT! It was the service that fell short. We didn't get our drinks (simple strawberry lemonade and iced tea lemonade) until after we were almost done eating our food? She mentioned she had a lot of shakes to do, so... Out of 5 food orders, 3 were messed up. A PLAIN cheeseburger came with all the fixin's, which for a kid is totally unacceptable. I requested a burger with 2 things on it and it came with those 2, plus lots more. OH, and the other messup? My daughter's burger wasn't even put in on the order. They cooked it real quick and she got comped for it, which is good, but overall, the service was pretty bad. The burgers were AWESOME and the fries were delectable! That strawberry lemonade mentioned above? FANTASTIC! I'd be willing to give them another try if we're ever in the area again.

Probably best burger I've ever eaten and I'm 69 years old so have experience. French fries outta this world crispy on the outside and fresh fresh fresh on inside. Chocolate malt reminded me of my Dads best. All this was served within 10 minutes to a party of 4. I highly recommend this place!

Not sure why their reviews are so high but we have a limited number of quality established restaurants... as far as burgers I had a Jamison's and tater tots both were okay... one thing I can say is the drive through is the slowest I've ever seen... once in a while they might be a pick... I still miss a bay burger special but good things pass... and what we are left with is compromise... it's too bad that the owner doesn't pay attention to the reviews of their properties they may be able to improve them with little $$ outlay...

The hamburger was tasty and the milk shake was good. I ordered a side of onion rings too. Everything was delicious. The only reason I marked them down one star was because the price was high. 18 dollars! although I could blame that on our elected officials.

Excellent fresh burgers. We had their standard burger which had lettuce, tomato and onion if you want it. Fries were nice and firm, try the ones with ranch flavoring and dip in ranch dressing-yummy! Also had a strawberry shake with real strawberries in it-excellent! Our server was a friendly young man who was prompt and attentive! Will definitely return here.

Stopped on our way through Coos Bay and I'm glad we didn't miss it! Great shakes (strawberry shake has strawberry chunks in it ) and we just got the single cheeseburger and it was fantastic. They were pretty busy when we got here but we would gladly wait 20 minutes in line again for the food and good customer service!

I stopped in to order food and was told the wait was 45 minutes which on a normal day would be fine however I had to be up at midnight for work on top of a 30 minute drive home. I committed on how that sucked and was walking to my car when an employees boyfriend chased me out yelling profanity at me calling me names. Now I'm kicked out and can never go back. This place is completely unprofessional and I would consider not going there if you want good customer service.

I had a single cheeseburger with everything was amazing. Cooked your perfection. The only thing I would change is I wish the bun was toasted by the time I got to the hotel. The bread was kind of soggy. I had the garlic cheese curds deep fried. They were definitely worth a price and something you should try. They are really good if you dip them into the fry sauce. My heart partner has basic hamburger and tater tots with a blackberry twister .

When this place opened, I read a couple of reviews that said that it was mediocre. So, I was hesitant to try it. Oh, I also have been recently diagnosed with Celiac disease, so hamburgers always feel risky (I get very ill physically if I consume even trace amounts of gluten). But one day, my son surprised me with a gluten-free burger and fries from this place. It smelled amazing, but I still wasn't really sure. But I tried it, and wow! I wish that I had not waited so long! Food was fresh and just delicious, and I did not get sick. It greatly exceeded my expectations (and I'm picky). The menu has offerings for just about any craving that you might have. They are always friendly and make each customer feel valued, even during busy lunch rush in the drive through. Their milkshakes are great as well. After having eaten there a few times, I can say that I do not feel that I just happened to go there on a particularly good day. They prepare their gluten-free fries separately, and they are good enough that my teenage son sometimes orders them instead of the regular ones, just because he likes them that much. He eats gluten just fine with no issues.

Fantastic service! Such a joy interacting with their employee: Crystal (spelling?) [had an awesome colorful sleeve with Flounder and a poke ball among other things :) ] She actually checked my husbands ID which is indicated on his credit card (maybe 10% if that of people ever check that. She noticed we were from out of town and was very kind and welcoming. The place was busy both inside and in the drive through but the extra couple seconds she took to be so friendly just made our day! We got single cheeseburgers with fries and a drinks Pricing was great and drive through was quick and easy right off the highway! Lots of parking in case you dined in
