Shake Shack 630 Lexington Ave - 54th & Lex

I was walking around the Grand Central area one day and went in to the station to look for a place to eat. Found Shake Shack on the lower level. Very busy around lunch. You can order from the machine or from the cashier. I had to wait about 15 minutes to get my food. Then it took me another 10 minutes to find a table to sit and eat. I got a basic hamburger and water. The hamburger was juicy and delicious. Highly recommend this place.

I just stopped by here to get a burger for lunch, but stayed for some shakes. I decided to the get Oreo shake that they had, and my friend got the famous Dubai chocolate shake. Both were GREAT, especially the Dubai chocolate. I guess I now understand all that hype about it, and loved it. Would get that again if I could. Besides that, the burgers definitely were better than the ones from the last shake shack I went too. 10/10, great food.

Junior was the employee managing the floor. He was attentive. Helpful. I was surprised because he asked about my experience and if I needed anything several times throughout my dine-in time. He's the type that will go far in life. Definitely deserves corporate praise because employees like him make the company $ and build a positive reputation for it. Overall a good experience. Music was loud but not overwhelming. Plenty of seating and fast service. You won't be disappointed coming here.

Recently, I visited a Shake Shack that was new to me! It was the one on Lexington Avenue, which I went to after a lunchtime church service — at Saint Bart’s Episcopal Church, on Park Avenue. It was a short walk over there, so I was able to feed both my spirit and body, on one relatively brief outing! Nice! : ) I ordered the typical items that my spouse and I have come to love: a ShackBurger (Double), a Veggie Shack (their relatively new vegan offering is excellent), and fries. Sometimes, we throw in a milkshake or two…on my recent to-go visit, we did not. With that said, the service was quite efficient, even though they were clearly experiencing both a lunchtime and Christmas Eve rush. I wish that the person who took my order at the counter would have smiled - their energy was very business-like, though maybe they smile more when it’s less crowded and intense. The food was delicious, and met my/our expectations; and the cheerful holiday decorations exceeded all expectations! : ) Overall, it’s a lovely and spacious ShakeShack location, which came through — even with so many people onsite, during this recent visit. If you are feeling hungry after work or, hey, church, then I suggest giving it a try! My Best, Kat

Shake Shack delivers consistently, with great texture and flavor. The crinkle-cut fries are crisp, and I was lucky enough to stop by on a day with plenty of space. The mushroom burger is amazing — rich, flavorful, and a great option even if you’re not vegetarian.

I had the chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich with French fries and a coke. The chicken sandwich was delicious .The service was excellent and the establishment was very clean.

I was very pleased with my meal here! I got the Smoke Shack burger and thought it was delicious. The bacon was a bit thin for my liking, but everything else about the burger was on point. The red peppers added the right amount of spice. The patty was hand molded and had great flavor. The cheese and shack sauce rounded out the flavor, all on a dense bun. Excellent burger! The fries portion is a bit small I thought. Friendly service! Definitely coming back :)

Came here right after they opened so there was plenty of seating available and everything was still clean. Food took a while to be prepared but was as delicious as I expect from Shake Shack. One of the ordered lemonades tasted weird though as if they’d forgotten to put in the syrup or whatever. I liked the fact that you could order through a self-service terminal.

The service here was very slow. Could have been much better. The place was dirty on the inside. I ordered frys, the chicken nuggets (6pcs). The frys were cold, and chicken nuggets were soft, like they've been sitting or soemething for a while. I was a bit upset about it. My friend got a $11 burger from the place which I thought was a bit excessive. First time coming here, not sure if I would return.

The food at any Shake Shack is consistent--delicious at any of the locations, and that has to do with HIGH QUALITY INGREDIENTS. And great staffing-great people. I LOVE SHAKE SHACK! Every item on the menu will be terrific. Burgers, fries, chicken and hot dog, I have had all of these items over the years and all are delicious. And, if you are not a meat eater, try the portobello mushroom burger. The mushroom is stuffed with cheese. I only recently tried the fries with cheese and bacon, and I enjoyed that also. My fav beverage is the Shake Shack lemonade, and I enjoy trying the various creative variations too!! Pomegranate lemonade, yes please. I have never ordered any item at a Shake Shack that I did not enjoy. If you have never tried Shake Shack, you are missing out, so try it. I usually order from my SHAKE SHACK APP, and then my order is ready when I go in to pick it up. Enjoy! You can order in person, at the counter, too.

I see so many poor reviews on here but I have never had a bad experience at Shake Shack. This place makes me so happy. Shake Shack is the best burger in New York City.

Very good hamburger and fries (Tabitha below, please note: the spelling is not "frys"). $17 for a double hamburger and fries was on the high end for fast food, but this is Manhattan. Great location.

If you order delivery (on any app) from this place, at least one thing will be missing and/or spilled in your bag. It's happened the last 3 times in a row for me, over the last couple months.

A quick stop to have a hot dog with mustard while on the way to a store. I like the shakes and burgers but sometimes all I want is a hot dog that satiates my hunger and is easy to eat. With plenty of seats available, I was able to sit at a table and enjoy every bite. There are also two restrooms which are clean and well stocked. Jazz was being played which is always a plus point for me.

Came here for lunch on a weekday and it wasn't very busy. Got my order within 10 minutes of ordering. No line for kiosk to place order. There was tap water and cups available for self serve. Saw a worker cleaning the tables which is nice. Nothing to complain about -- typical shake shack chain. I do think the whole chain is overpriced but that's America right now in general.

Big Shake Shack fan here. I disagree with many of the other reviews. Every time I got, this restaurant is packed and I always have to order online through the app ahead to get my food timely. The burgers and Oreo shake are my favorite. This place is consistently food and the staff are friend for NYC. A secret hack is dipping the fries in the shake for best taste! I strongly encourage you to check out this place.

This is my neighborhood Shake Shack so I go here all the time and was surprised to see poor reviews. The location is spacious and typically very clean, at least in the evenings. There is a good amount of seating, as well as a few self-service kiosks which help keep the line down. Personally I've always found the service to be good here, and the employee who seems like he is the manager is friendly and helpful. The only things I've noticed are that orders can take some time to come out as it seems there are a ton of online/delivery orders in addition to in-person orders, and every now and then I get a burger that's on the dry side. However overall I think this is a good location, definitely cleaner and more pleasant for dining-in than other Midtown Shake Shacks.

I ordered an Avocado Bacon burger through Uber Eats and there was no avocado in the burger. I don't know how someone could forget the avocado when "Avocado" is literally in the name and is basically the central ingredient in the burger. This ruined the whole meal for me.

Good burger all ways I usually get basic one. The drink is too sweet for me. The French fries all ways good especially when it hot

We saw Snoop Dog. It was amazing stuff. The family really enjoyed his private concert.

Ridiculously slow. I came here around 5PM on a Saturday to get a milkshake, and I ordered on the kiosk. I waited 20 minutes for it. 20. minutes. ...for a milkshake. The person supposedly filling orders kept getting pulled away to do other tasks, and there were two others in front of me who had been there for longer. They were also frustrated. I got the seasonal special Oreo funnel cake shake which had chocolate whipped cream on top, and it was tasty but a bit too sweet. Pricey though at almost $7 for it. I do generally like Shack Shack's shakes but waiting 20 minutes for it is really ridiculous.

My friend and I work in the area so we popped in during lunch around 1:30. There was a line and it moved very slowly bc all the kiosks were broken and there was one register open. I never realized how many questions ppl had about the menu. The customer in front of me asked where the cows were from after placing the order smh I ordered the new bourbon bacon cheddar. It looked amazing on the menu. However, it was very different. It was a good burger but could have been better. So upset it's nothing like the picture. It's a new location so it's very clean. I don't recommend the new bourbon bacon cheddar.

Yessss so exited to see this open near work specially even more so since a lot has closed in the area because of COVID & lunch options are limited. U walk in & they have a few kiosk set up this is where u place your order, not bad very easy to follow once your order is done payment is made & u get a text confirming your order. This time around I got the Crispy chicken sandwich & a Strawberry milkshake, very good sandwich & the milk shake was delicious .. nice & thick! New location so everything is nice & clean, typical shake shack decor! nice set up for the most part, quick service my order took about 10 minutes not bad. Price wise I'd say for "burgers" it is a bit pricey but they are very good so definitely worth the try.. just one of those guilty pleasures from time to time because of course u can't eat this stuff everyday.

I have been faithful to shake shack for over 10 years. But after my recent experience I no longer feel good about Shake shack. 12/13/22 I was in the area and decided to get my usual shack burger. This is not the location I normally go to. First off service was really slow. The place was pretty empty, but to bring out my order took awhile just for two burgers and a shake ?? When I got my burger it was not hot but warm more leaning towards cold. I didn't ask for another because I just wanted to eat and go. This was around 6pm. I felt fine when I got home I started feeling nauseous out of no where. By 9pm I had diarrhea and was vomiting-the entire burger I had just had. When I started feeling a lot of pain and was unable to hold down liquids I decided it was best to go to the emergency room where I spent numerous hours. At the hospital I continued to throw up and go to the bathroom. They gave me 3 bags of iv. I don't know if an employee was not washing their hands well, if the food was not cooked throughly or the food was not properly stored, but without a doubt I got food poisoned from Shake shack. This resulted in two lost days of work, ER bills that will soon come and over a week later I still cannot eat normal and feel woozy. Whoever manages this location should know a health inspector will be paying a visit very soon.

Great food and more importantly great service. Today I placed an order at 11AM for a delivery at 12 Noon. For some reason the delivery registered as a pick-up. So after waiting awhile I walked over as its only 2 blocks away. My order was there but the young lady at the pick up location said "we can make you a fresh burger because you've waited so long". I said yes and was very appreciative. She was kind and professional. I even got fries added to my fresh burger. Thank you so much for being kind and professional. A few months ago I had a very bad experience at a local eatery about 2 blocks away from this Shake Shack. They were rude and insulting after I waited 50 minutes for a simple "shake". That's right....a "shake". And an insult after I received my shake. No apology for the 50 minute wait, no coupon for being inconvenienced. Nada...zilch, zero! I'll never buy from them again ever. I won't even eat their food when my co-workers do a group corporate paid for lunch. That's how you get businesses to learn. Good service = return customer. Bad service = never again.

Not sure why the poor reviews. Burger is excellent - top notch hard to beat (in the smash category) in my opinion. Always fresh juicy if you eat in. Maybe they are people ordering - I would never order a burger you have to eat it right off the grill. This place is always packed but very efficient I never waited more than 5 mins and I've been here at least 6 times. Always get the double cheeseburger with onions. Cannot go wrong

ZERO STARS! Worst Shake Shack. Employees just tossing the food around. Got the Hot Ones Chicken collaboration sandwich. Not even close to the marketing picture for premium sandwich. NOT WORTH IT. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS LOCATION.

Racist employee! Got discriminated against and yelled at because I refused to eat sandwich that had bacon in it and asked to have it redone instead of just removing it. ( i asked for no bacon, some of the employees understood and were shocked by the woman reaction and how I was treated! She yelled at me telling me if I can't eat bacon then I shouldn't eat anything there since everything is cooked in the same pots! Told her it's against my religion and she kept insisting very aggressively that I should eat there! She wasn't even the one cooking it ( the cook completely hunderstood and even told her she was wrong) will not stay silent on this!! Discrimination is illegal! Btw still had to wait 10 mins extra to make my new burger! I want the manager to look at the cameras and see how I kept my calm when she was being racist and disrespectful

It took way too long for me to just get a simple milkshake. After at least 15 minutes a worker approached me asked for my order then started making it. Keep in mind I ordered online 20 minutes before.

This location is going to destroy Shake Shack's reputation if it is being managed in the current way. I worked in the area and came here for a quick lunch, placed order on the kiosk at about 12:34pm. Got a text message saying I will be notified once the order is ready. Guess what? I never received the text message after I waited for 10 mins. I confirmed with one of the staff to see if the orders would be placed on the shelf near the register or someone would call my name. He said someone would call my name, so I continued to wait. During the time, there were other customers coming back and forth for various reasons, wrong order or orders were ready but their names were never called etc., very chaotic and out of order. Finally I asked one of the staff at the work station if my order was ready, apparently nobody worked on my order yet. He just did it after I followed up and gave me this nasty shack burger with extremely dry patty and half melted shake without a straw. The staff at the work station seem to lack the energy and motivation, maybe they don't care about all the mistakes that irritate the customers. Seriously, if nobody changes the way this location is being managed, it will be closed very soon.

I always been a big fan with Shake Shack but my experience at the E 54th was not great. I arrived at 10:30in the morning during their opening and I was the first customer and they were not even busy. I have to wait for 25 minutes to get my order which was Vegetarian burger. Aside from the very slow service, the vegetarian burger I received was undercooked on the inside. For that long wait and they were not even busy, I was expecting my food be at least cooked well.

Disappointed. First time and they got my order wrong. Ordered and paid for cheese fries, on a 30 minute lunch. Got back to work to find no cheese on my fries. Update: Went back and love how they rectified the issue!!!!! Restored my faith!!!!

Everything was great the first time I ordered from this location - the fries and burger were crispy and warm. However, I ordered a burger and cheese fries today and both items sucked. They didn't give me any cheese for the fries and the burger and fries were cold. Do you know how painful this feels after looking forward to this meal all day... and on a Sunday no less, a day that is supposed to be restful and joyful? I ate it anyway out of desperation, but damn my heart hurts.

This Shake Shack is horrible. The people who work here are awful. The food takes forever, they ALWAYS give you an attitude and it's dirty. Like I cannot stress enough how poor of service they give here. The cashier alone just sits there on her phone and makes everyone wait for her to finish scrolling through Instagram. So we were really happy that Shake Schak was offering delivery directly. We decided to place a large order for the office and the midtown location. First we never got an actual online confirmation for the order. The site kept saying that it was an error. But we saw the charge in the credit card and decided to call to confirm. They said they had the order. Like an 1 1/2 later we start calling because we hadn't receive the food. It took at least 10 tries to get in contact with the shop. They told us they dispatched the order to UberEats. Botton line, we never got to eat lunch that day. If Shake Shack is really serious about offering delivery services, they better get a grip on it. I love their food, so I will give them another try but terrible experince , very dissapointed!

I'll start first by saying I love the burgers and that this is my first review although Ive been there a few times. The issues I always and consistently have is with the service, which is very poor. After spending my hard-earned money that I really don't need attitude from people just stand around and talk to each other instead of being more helpful to the customers if my phone says that my order is ready and come to the counter I come to the counter and you have an attitude because you don't have a bag for me yet then why don't you communicate with the people that are actually making the bags to find out what's going on with my order instead of giving me an attitude for coming to the counter when I'm showing you that my phone says my order is ready. Tired of being treated in this manner by youngins who clearly dfaf about the customers.

This place cannot get it together. Our past TWO orders arrived with half of the items MISSING. My orders were listed on the receipts so who ever is bagging the delivery orders is clearly on another planet. There is no one to speak to on the phone and the only option is to press 2 to speak with a manager whom apparently is never at the location because they simply do not answer the phone. The recording says to leave a message and a manager will return the call within 24 hours. It's been 4 days and nothing. Definitely will not be returning

brought my parents to experience the american shake shack experience and was incredibly disappointed by the service here. the food took 20 minutes. and I got a message 10-15 minutes in saying it's ready and I waited there and no one called my name or anything. i asked an employee and then they had to go look for it, and i saw them just put a box of chicken into the bag and serve it to me. then they said they didn't have any more bacon left for the bacon cheese fries, i was perplexed and asked then what would you do instead, they said you could wait but it's going to take a while. I said could i get my money back then? they said it's just a couple of cents though. I'm really confused at the service here, and the burger (i didn't take a picture of it) was ugly (literally everything was flattened and you could barely see the patty. The flavour of everything was relatively fine, just horrible experience.

all i know is that i ordered it on seamless. about 90 minutes later i got a call from the delivery guy asking when i placed my order. he said he was at the place waiting for them to complete it. 15 minutes later i called back. he said he would be at my location in 10 minutes. seamless informed me it arrived in the lobby. i went down to pick it up, and it wasnt there. i went back to my workstation, and rec'd an email saying my order was canceled. i called, and got a woman who could not speak english. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE, unless you want two hours of bullshit. and you arent hungry. FUCK THIS PLACE
