Shake Shack’s New Veggie Burger Is Actually Good | Bon Appétit

"The new Veggie Shack burger embraces vegetables rather than imitating meat: the patty is made from mushrooms, sweet potatoes, carrots, farro, and quinoa and contains distinct chunks so you can taste the crunch of carrot and the chew of mushroom. It arrives on the chain’s pillowy potato roll, slathered with the signature Shack Sauce (pickle brine, mayo, ketchup, and mustard) and topped with American cheese, pickle medallions, and crispy fried onions—resulting in a juicy, flavorful, and texturally satisfying sandwich. One reviewer noted an unusually gooey three-slice cheese melt and found the sandwich surprisingly hefty and more filling than a normal burger despite lacking meat protein; they also preferred it to the existing breaded, cheese-filled mushroom option for its more well-rounded flavor. Available nationally via app ordering with an in-store rollout planned for May 5, the item is cited as a hopeful example of a vegetarian fast-food offering that celebrates vegetables instead of trying to mimic beef." - ByLi Goldstein

After 37 Years, Danny Meyer Is No Longer CEO of His Influential Restaurant Group | Bon Appétit

"What began as a Madison Square Park hot‑dog stand in 2001 grew into a publicly traded, globally expanded chain of roughly 250 locations and a multibillion‑dollar business known for elevated burger‑and‑fries stadium fare; it helped popularize the 'fine‑casual' category by combining counter service with carefully sourced, higher‑quality ingredients and inspired many similar hybrid dining concepts." - ByAli Francis

Sadness. I usually love shake shack, but the service here warrants a one star. When ordering they were out of the one beer they offer, but I had to check their cooler to confirm (it’s located in front of the register). When paying the device asks for a $1 or $2 tip which is nonsense for fast food. The employee seemed as if she could care less about the world around her. After 20+ min of waiting they finally called my name starting “last call” when it was the first time. There is a digital board that shows names of orders that are ready, but apparently it’s random showing names that aren’t ready, not showing ones that are, not clearing names after they pick up. The condiments counter had zero ketchup remaining from 8 pumps, which included an employee sitting in that counter for 5-10 min while waiting on their own food (not kidding). Cheese fries cried disappointment as the cheese was in a tiny side cup of cold cheese sauce. Burger was sloppy. Sadness all around. $27 for a burger, fries and drink.

I don’t understand the overwhelmingly bad reviews. I came here on Christmas day and the plaza was packed. The staff was kind and my order came out quickly. My double shackburger was juicy and delicious. The quality of the service and the food is comparable to other Shake Shack locations despite being located in an airport. Prices also have the usual airport upcharge.

Shake shack is delicious!! Server Braylin was outstanding- quick, friendly, and helpful. Sheila was also helpful and sweet. My Cheeseburger with Bacon was very good and fresh. I ordered it cheese and bacon only, but it had the sauce on it which I didn’t realize until my last bite. However it was GOOD!! Fan now of their sauce. Their Mushroom / Cheese Burger (combined!) is AMAZING! Home run with that one. It’s located on the way to Terminal E in Charlotte International Airport. Great place for lunch or dinner while in the Airport!! Sheryl was a great cashier tonight! Friendly and welcoming. Manager was also great - fixed a burnt hot dog that I waited way too long for. And the girl who was setting the food up to send out was very rude to the guy who was asking her how much more time was my order going to take. Many orders after my number were being called, so I asked him. He asked her and instead her checking, she gave him attitude. “DON’T ASK ME!” She replied with an attitude that turned me completely off. Uh NO - that’s also your d’ job is to find out what a holdup is. Maybe, just maybe it got lost, taken etc and uh, this IS an Airport, so time is a factor thank you very much……… save the attitude for home. Follow my page for lots of reviews from across the Globe. $30 for the awesome shack stack burger, fries, and shake. Friendly service by Rochelle today. Plenty of seating and quick ordered but had to wait 10 minutes for the food so be prepared because they are busy. Pricey but good… Thank you from your Arizona friends 😎🙏😇

Unorganized, out of chicken, out of shack sauce, out of shakes, place is disgusting all over. $45 for 2 burgers, 1 order of fries, and a soft drink. BUT, the food was ok. One fry in the fry basket in our order was the worst French fry I’ve ever had in my life. The rest were ok

First time customer of Shake Shack at CLT. Unfortunately, they have a huge problem with their posted menu and what you get. They offer a 16 oz can of Brooklyn Ale Lager for $10.49 on their menu. Apparently the only size they had available was a 12 oz. bottle but offered no price adjustment for the smaller 12 oz. bottle. Very poor customer service..

The burgers are greasy as hell. Burger is decently juiced. Two burgers = 1 big bag for the order 💀. I had a tight connection of 1 hour and they didn’t get my food out until like 10 minutes before my flight was almost near my boarding group, so I ran the hell down to A gates. 💀😂😂 Not enough seating and the seating are in poor quality too.

Have never been to a Shake Shack before, but will definitely in the future whenever I come across one. Burger was delicious, great crispy edge like a grilled smash burger. Add cherry peppers to your burger - bit of heat and acidity takes it over the top. Crisp, hot curly fries were great - Shack Sauce not so flavorful to me. Chocolate shake was thick and very good - strong chocolate taste like eating a bar of 60% cacao, not like basic flavoring syrup
