Cherry Creek Is Getting Its Own Shake Shack - Eater Denver

"Cherry Creek will be the home of the Denver metro area’s third Shake Shack. The popular New York-based burger chain is setting up in a ground floor office space inside the recently-completed 260 North office building at 260 North Josephine Street." - Paul Albani-Burgio

I really enjoyed my burger here. I got it lettuce-wrapped and they were generois with the wrapping. They also cook their burgers medium rare. This location also has a spot to fill up a water bottle which was great since I biked to it. My only regret is not getting a triple burger instead of a double. 🍔🍔🍔

Google
I got a raw burger. Excessively Pink in the middle I went from 5-5:30 on 2/26/25. Didn’t start eating til I got home , called the shake shack location they don’t answer only give you an option to speak to a manager who does not reply either. Wasted $10 bucks on a bad burger.

Google
Solid shake shack experience. They left pink in the burgers which I was pretty dang happy about. Price is too expensive for the chain for sure but at least the quality is good! Atmosphere was also pretty cool I'm there for a fast food chain. I'll be back if I need a quick bite I'm the area Should go without saying if you have the time - always go to Cherry Cricket over this place though.

This place is definitely delicious 😋. The burgers were so fresh and cooked perfectly. This location was very clean and the service was excellent and super fast . I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back here again 💯... Make sure you try this place

This is my first time eating at a Shake Shack and I really liked it!! It was very clean and I am a huge fan of the self-service screens for orders. There was an ample amount of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were super friendly and polite. Unfortunately, I only ordered the shakes due to time. With the name of “Shake Shack”, I felt it was a worthy order. Overall, they were fantastic. They were rich, thick, and quite satisfying. I am definitely planning to come back again and try out their burgers and fries!!

Google
We made an order of 11 shackburgers that cost over $90 for our nephew 6- year old birthday party. When we got home , we were surprised that there were only 10 burgers loose scattered across the paper sealed bag without any buns with them . The lettuce leaves were rotten and dirty that we throw in the trash . Is the how you value your customers. Worst restaurant ever messes up out birthday party. Interested only in making money in return for this trash service.

Google
I came with a last minute pregnancy craving. The staff was so polite and didn’t make me feel bad about my unusual order. The manager had already taken out the cash drawer and was kind enough to allow me to order my food with cash. Kitchen was very fast! Wish more humans like this existed in the world. Thank you!!

Google
I had a hot dog and fries with a small lemonade. The hot dog bun was fresh, but slightly cold. The dog, too. The lemonade was on par with a powdered lemonade from the grocery store, such as Country Time or Crystal Light. The crinkle-cut fries were pretty good. I know this place is very popular, and it’s arrival in Denver has been momentous... but my first experience was less than great. It was just barely good.

Yelp
For some reason I use to really not like Shake Shack...I thought their food was mediocre and overpriced.. Perhaps it was my daughter's boyfriend ( who loves this location) that had me reexamine my notion and change my position. I am sort of obsessed by this Shake Shack: The food ( especially their fries and chicken bacon avo sando) is especially good. The ordering system is extremely intuitive to use and makes ordering a snap. Sure it is a tad spendy but you get what you pay for: Namely great quality food. Doesn't hurt that this location is so perfect. I do love the irony of being next door to Barry's (do a crazy workout and than binge on fast food....ha!)

Yelp
Parking in Cherry Creek can difficult to do. This location has a garage that you can enter from the alley with reserved Shake Shack parking on P1. I believe they validate their customers. The machines are self checkout. You can also order online and have your food waiting for you. I think more of their customers use that option with nearby buildings of many employees looking for a quick grab. This means most likely places to sit inside. You ring yourself up, pick your table number and wait for delivery. The food is good. The customer service is on par with the robot. Ok, maybe the robot is better. Definitely an affordable place in Cherry Creek with a wonderful convenience factor that they are capitalizing on with efficiency.

Yelp
You will need to park on the street. It could be challenging in cherry Creek! There are parking lots, but regardless it will cost you. You must place your order at a kiosk so self-service. Take a number with you so they can deliver order. They will deliver your order, but they do not bring napkins so get your napkins when you squirt your ketchup in a cup. Very clean and friendly environment.

Yelp
I like the convenience of this Shake Shack. You purchase your meal at the kiosk with your credit card, select your meal, wait for your order, and then enjoy your meal in dining or take home. The downside is limited human interaction. But, that is Ok if you are on the go. The spicy chicken sandwich is quite good. It is better than the other comparable fast food chicken sandwiches. The fries are crinkle cut and very tasty. The restaurant and roomy and clean, and conveniently located near the Halcyon Hotel. I like this Shake Shack.

Yelp
ShackBurger-with fried pickles was absolutely worth it. It was a great way to end the day after playing volleyball at Washington park

Yelp
I was a huge fan of Shake shack back when I lived in NYC. It was always delicious and cravable. THe last few times ordering from this location, they have made big errors to our orders. This time, we ordered bacon added to 2 burgers and paid for it only to have no bacon on our burgers. The last time we got different shakes. The problem is, we order in the store to eat at home. I don't notice until after I have paid for my order and tipped the staff who have not been competent in accurately filling my order. It is expensive to not get what you pay for. If i go back and I am not sure I will, it will be dine in. Ambiance is fine. They have corn hole to play while you wait for your food and decent outdoor seating. Parking is a pain.

Yelp
This is really a restaurant that is a matter of. TASTE. The hamburgers are tasty and greasy. Greasy can be very good from time to time but not every time. The restaurant is set up to get you in and out quickly. Computers with menus is the centerpiece of the lobby. The restaurant employees are dedicated to preparing the food and getting it out but not taking orders or taking credit cards. It is a clean restaurant and very functional and they have a few items other than hamburgers and milkshakes. Remember, you were going to Shake Shock for a hamburger and possibly a milkshake. In the world of hamburgers there are better ones and better restaurants that provide better service.

Yelp
I am very excited that there are more Shake Shack locations popping up in Colorado to spread out the lines. Shake Shack never disappoints. The Shroom Burger is so unique that you can't find it anywhere. The cheesy goodness that melts in between the portobello mushroom is mouthwatering. While the burger is on the pricier side compared to the West Coast rival, the quality is so much better. The fries still hold their crunch as you drive back home to eat them. There's enough salt and flavor on the fries without the additional need of condiments. The shakes are delicious. I love trying the seasonal shakes they offer and the strawberry rhubarb shake was so yummy. This was a spring offer.

Yelp
Hung up on me when I asked about the missing cheeseburger in our order - very ride. No more sh$& shack for this family

Yelp
I am an avid Shake Shack customer but this is the worst experience I have ever had at a Shake Shack. I feel bad because the girl working the counter and putting together the orders seemed extremely overwhelmed and discombobulated. I waited longer than expected according to my text message that said my order was ready. Probably an extra 10 minutes, which doesn't seem like a big deal in the scheme of things, but I just came off a 12.5 hour shift and was hungry and wanted to eat. When I got home, I realized that I had no straw for my milkshake. No big deal, I have straws at home. There were no napkins, also no biggie. However, when I opened up the fry container and the cheese container, it was like I was missing half of each! I paid $4.00 for half a container of fries and half a container of cheese. Ridiculous. The burger was overall okay but the patty was extremely over-salted. This has never happened before at any other Shake Shack location. The only redeeming factor to my meal was that the shake was quite delicious. Good job to whoever made the shake! I'm very hesitant to come back to this location based on my experience this past week. Hopefully they will make some changes so that other customers do not have this type of experience.

Yelp
I'm just grateful I had Shake Shack to fallback on when I needed them the most. In N Out was a crazy wait on a Friday night. Pros: + Order online, pick up when it's ready + Food was ready at the promised time/when we arrived + What is this cute neighborhood known as Cherry Creek?? I like! Cons: - Shack Sauce too thick (need to compare to Palo Alto, CA location) What We Ordered: + Hamburger, double meat, onions, pickles, lettuce, shack sauce + Chicken Bites + Chicken Burger + Green Chile Cheddarshack Honestly, I had not eaten all day so this was soooo delicious. I think I'll pass on the shack sauce next time. Love their patties here, but their bun game is not as strong as In N Out. Same with the onions. I want a whole slice of onion, not baby rings. My partner devoured his two burgers. Chicken bites were ok, I wouldn't order again. The batter on the outside is not crunchy enough. Crinkle cut fries were ok. Great location, speedy service. The employees here will help you look for your pick up bags tell you if it's not ready. Super friendly!

Yelp
I like Shake Shack. I do think it's a but overrated and pricey but the burgers are solid, I love the shroom burger. However this location seems to take *forever* to prepare your order. You could go to a sit down restaurant, order an app, and have your food faster than you do ordering on the kiosk here. There are loads of delivery and pickup orders that massively back up people waiting for their food to eat in. I don't think I've ever waited so long for order at the counter food in my life, definitely not worth it. I also really dislike the atmosphere of these restaurants, the chairs are super uncomfortable and they feel so sterile, this one is no exception.
google avatar

Elisha S.

Yelp
The shroom burger is really good and so as the chick n shack, the shake was the bomb as well!!! the only thing is we ordered a cheese fries but the cheese is kinda lumpy ( might be overcooked ) , it has weird texture in it, might also be nice to pour a good amount of cheese since thats the reason we got the CHEESE fries

Yelp
Yes, this is a major chain in and amongst mom & pop places. Let it survive on its own merits. And let it be reviewed on its own merits. There, now that we've gotten that out of the way... I FINALLY tried Shake Shack, after a year of thinking about it but never actually pulling the trigger. The SO and I were out and about in CCN visiting another shop and saw that there was a Shake Shack - had no idea there was one close by! Well, time for a stop... The ordering process was simple, either from a kiosk or through a person. COVID rules mandated waiting outside; not a problem. It took about 10 minutes for our food to come out, and off we went with our takeaway to eat at home. We both got the SmokeShack burger, with chopped peppers and bacon and all the loveliness. The peppers were a fun touch and the burger sauce was excellent. Bacon quality was great. Slightly greasy in the best way, and the fries were sort of incredible. I wasn't expecting fries that look like they came out of a bag you bought at the supermarket to be this good, but wow. They were. It's not the best burger I've had, but then my philosophy on burgers is that they're journeys, not destinations. So just go in search of positive Burger Experiences! Shake Shack will help you have one, dear reader. Trust me.
google avatar

Blu M.

Yelp
I don't go out to fast food restaurants often and I haven't gone to Shake Shack much because I haven't had a great experience, especially the customer service is quite bad. With that being said I think this experience was okay. I got the shack burger and fries. The burger was pretty good but it had topping falling out which isn't a bad thing I guess. The fries weren't all that crispy, some were kinda soggy, but it didn't taste bad. I think if they fix their customer service then I'd come back but I just don't see any reason. It's a decent burger joint.

Kent J.

Yelp
Novice to Shake Shack so stopped in the Cherry Creek location. Nice spot, clean, well maintained. Easy to order and had our food in no time. Staff was very pleasant and engaging. Uh...then... We had a cheese burger, hot dog and krinkle fries. Fries were cold. Cheeseburger looked like it had been run over. Now the hot dog should make a 3 yr old happy as it was just like daddy boils...... In short NO.
google avatar

Christopher W.

Yelp
Love Shake Shack, but this location is not passing muster. Food so far has been good, but this evening I'm in for a quick pick up of just some chicken bites and fries for the kid, they aren't really that busy but there is no one taking orders at the front desk area and the kiosk area doesn't have the chicken options from the menu. This is mainly just to give feedback to the overall operation on easy areas for improvement. I'll be back for more and the burgers are solid, but again, compared to NYC or other Shake Shack locations, this place would be dead in the water if they actually had to keep up and serve a decent sized crowd.
google avatar

Nills B.

Yelp
I like Shake Shack better than In N Out. This location is nice, they keep it clean. Food is consistent and you get what you expect. Only concern I have is the service. They practically force you to use the tablets to order. If you go up to the counter they'll look at you strangely.
google avatar

Tina P.

Yelp
False advertising. Advertises Grilled Cheese online. Cherry Creek store will not offer on menu. I asked about this and they will not publicly offer.
google avatar

Audrey C.

Yelp
Literally the best news ever that Shake Shack got gluten free buns. And they are SUPER tasty. Love shake shack just for a simple burger & fries! Nothing too fancy but it's the burger joint I will go to most often now that they have gluten free buns!

Yelp
Love this addition to CHERRY CREEK NORTH, CCN. My boyfriend has never had shake shack so we ventured over to the new location to try the menu. Unfortunately due to the new Covid restrictions and limitations there is no dining, patio or outdoor dining seating. We ordered the food online from their website and picked it up. Due to the super cold weather today we decided to eat our pick up in the car. We shared a little bit of everything. We ordered one smoke shack burger that comes with a really good bacon and some red peppers. We also ordered the hot chicken sandwich, cheesy fries, a strawberry shake, and a single cup/scoop of white and black which is one scoop of vanilla and one scoop of chocolate frozen custard. Everything was delicious! My boyfriend really enjoyed his first shake shack experience and can't wait to go back. Everything was really fresh and very easy to order online. We did not enter the restaurant at all. There was an employee outside that we told that we had an online order. We waited one minute and they came out with our bag of food and the frozen custards in a carrier. I recommend ordering online and then picking it up. There are metered parking at CCN or you can park at a near by parking structure and walk over. We enjoyed the Shack Shack and walked off our feast by holiday shopping, checking out the Fetch market and enjoying the holiday decor and lights.

Yelp
TLDR; Food was cold, burger in lettuce wrap was oily, soggy, and over cooked. Shakes were watery. Received food 40 minutes after ordering and 10 minutes after the location closed. Awful, rude employees. Unfortunately, Shake Shack in Cherry Creek is a great disappointment. While many people have been frustrated that a franchise chain entered Cherry Creek while small businesses have been suffering significantly, I wanted to give this location a shot. This was my experience. Ordered two shakes and a lettuce burger at 7:30, ready by 7:49. Get there at 7:45, was told to go inside to check at the pickup counter, and was told it was not ready. Waited outside in the cold till 8:00pm, which is when they closed. By then, numerous other people received their food despite ordering before us in-store at 7:45. At 8:01 PM, I got a text to go inside cause my food is ready. Go inside, food is not ready. Was told to wait outside as I could not wait inside the store. 8:06pm, get my food, and the burger is extremely cold. Crazy enough, it was on the pickup shelf at 8:00pm, but they would not give it to me. I knew things were fishy when I originally walked in at 7:45 because I noticed only one lettuce wrap burger, which is what I ordered, sitting on their shelf. They would not give my burger until the shakes were ready, which, for some reason, took 36 minutes. I was not given straws, utensils, or condiments. I could not drink the shake until I got home, which, by then, it had melted. I poured it into the glass and it was pure liquid. Sugar water basically. Since the burger was sitting out for over thirty minutes, my food was so so so cold, that it was inedible. I had to throw it away. I can best describe it as oily, dry, overcooked, full of cold, hard cheese, and soggy. I have had shake shack from the RiNo location multiple times, and thought their wait times were bad, but this experience is far far worse, especially for a grand opening. No apologies, no reason for the delay, just horrible customer service. They kept mistaking my name of Elliot too. I, along with hundreds of people, hope that these franchises disappear as they do not care about the customer. I will continue to support the small businesses that desperately need customers instead of supporting a franchise with unhelpful employees. I was a huge Shake Shack fan, but they have let me down too many times. This was the last straw. Side Note: I, and over twelve other individuals, faced similar 30 minute delays from the promised order time, even though they originally said it would be ready "ASAP." I did not let other people's voiced frustrations outside affect my experience, which, unfortunately, was way worse. I am not the only one disappointed so far by them.

Yelp
I came here because I was really excited to try the new korean inspired items on the menu and I'll say that it was quite an underwhelming experience. I would say I'm a fairly patient person. I understand restaurants will get busy during peak hours or they will be understaffed so things might take a little longer than expected. However, when we came in, it was quite slow. There was only one other party there and a few take out orders being prepared. There were employees talking in the middle of the store so being understaffed was not an issue. But somehow, it took 30 minutes for our food to come out... at a restaurant that brands itself as "fast food". When our food finally came, we were missing the cheese sauce for our fries (it comes separately so the fries don't get soggy) and gochuchang sauce for the chicken. The chicken sandwiches looked like they were just thrown together and were quite messy inside the bag sleeve. I was hoping the taste of these special items would make up for the lack of service and presentation, but unfortunately it only made the experience worse. The gochuchang flavor was lacking and was truly not anything super special in my opinion. And I certainly don't think it's worth what you pay. I will say that I did enjoy their new specialty lemonade and fries though. However, I don't think I would ever come back.

Yelp
I've had Shake Shack before in other locations, and I'm excited one opened up in the Cherry Creek area. The location is convenient and the restaurant itself is quite spacious, with lots of seating inside and out. I ordered takeout yesterday for two couples and we ordered quite a bit of food. From the original ShackBurger to the new Korean burger, cheese fries and chicken, everything was ready on time and even though there were a few modifications, all the food in the order was correct. I was a little behind in picking up my order, but management and the staff were very kind and understanding and took good care of me when I finally made it to the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this Shake Shack location and I know we'll be back to visit in the near future!

Yelp
Today was my first time experiencing Shake Shack, and it was SO GOOD!! Such a flavorful burger on a bun to die for, and the crinkle cut fries survived the delivery time to still be warm, crispy, and delicious!
google avatar

Tim T.

Yelp
Awesome addition to CCN. Hands down the best fries in the hood. I had the the spicy chicken sandwich and it was amazing!! Beats the other chicken place hands down. I ordered on the app and picked up lunch for my office in 20 min. Piping hot. The burgers look great too. I ll try the shake next time. I know this is a chain, but they will get my business, it's that good. It is worth the trip!!
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Went to this spot for lunch and had a lettuce wrapped burger with green Chile. It was juicy and not greasy at all! Usually when I get a lettuce wrapped burger it falls apart but this one was very well wrapped and did not fall apart. The fries were super crispy and delish!
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Came here because of publicity about NY location and was disappointed. Service was non-existent, though I came early for lunch. Then burger was over-cooked & falling apart. Fries were okay & shake was good. Came out of curiosity but won't be back.

Yelp
We dined at the Cherry Creek Shake Shack shortly after it opened as it is closer to our house than the RiNo location that we have been patronizing since it opened a few years ago. However, our initial experience was not good. Service was slow, food arrived very late after ordering and the substitute for an advertised special menu item that was not available was served tepid and the two orders of french fries were underdone. A few days after our disappointing dining experience I contacted this stores General Manager (Sheryl Santa Cruz) to share feedback with her about our visit and she immediately took ownership by comping our meal and inviting us back to treat us to another meal to make it right. She is the kind of Manager that ANY restaurant should have at the helm, especially now since the COVID-19 epidemic has impacted many restaurants that were just barely hanging on pre-pandemic because their service and food quality was not above board. We will continue to support this location and the courteous staff whilst enjoying that parking is readily available nearby and there is plenty of space inside and outside (weather permitting) to eat without the usual hustle and bustle of the RiNo location.

Yelp
Why the f is it 90 degrees inside?! Stop playing Rihanna. Just turn on the air conditioning and stop playing Rihanna

Yelp
we ordered for 2 grandchildren and ourselves hired uber to deliver. $67 order uber driver picked up our food then cancelled the order and of course we never received it the kids were looking forward to the hamburgers etc i called and reordered and went and picked up they were great and gave us the delicious food comp But. who would think an Uber driver would take your food these random drivers are a danger to the public

Bubs D.

Yelp
went tody. Burger under cokked--by shack standards--poorly constructed--lettuc tomato hanging out--messy. Fries AWFUL --they were cold! This was 2pm on Thursday. I've been here several times but this could be last.

John F.

Yelp
Service at 11:35 today slow and employees messing around in kitchen area, cheeseburger and fries unfortunately as cold as my milk-shake. Someone needs to hire more professional and more attentive employees. Were not taking orders at cash register and only two kiosks were working of the 4 available, Danny Meyer would not be happy. And this location does NOT serve the Shack-ca-go dog which I love at other locations. C- real estate and D- team and food
google avatar

Jon T.

Yelp
I came with my girlfriend within the first week of grand opening and ordered via mobile app. Pickup was estimated to be around 20-25 minutes. The first issue was that I ended up receiving my order 25 mins after I got there (45mins wait total), and secondly, they handed over my order to someone else without confirming the name before I intervened. Lastly, the food was very soggy and oily and not what I remembered it should taste like.

Rachel J.

Yelp
Always great food and service. I messed up and ordered from the wrong location and they took care of me. Happy to work across the street from them!

Hunter H.

Yelp
A disgrace to shake shacks nationwide. Perpetually late by at least 20 mins on orders via the app which they always get wrong. Patrons are constantly sending back food that isn't prepared correctly. Literally the worst shake shack in the entire country. Don't waste your time here. Last week they were temporarily closed due to lack of electricity. I bet they didn't even pay their utility bill bc they are so mismanaged.

Greg L.

Yelp
Nothing at all special, and certainly not worth even half the $20 I was charged. The burger itself was well-done & tasteless. The fries flat out sucked and I was charged $ 4.60 for a "large" 22oz coke (In CO not New York)! Yes, I got a refill-thought I should for this price, but had to wait a few minutes for it- why not self serve? Totally overpriced, my order came to $20- get a better tasting burger at In N Out for half the price and fill your own soda when you want. (In N Out fries equally as bad though) Won't be back, very disappointing!!!
google avatar

Yelp
After all the hype we finally tried this place and i'll say 5 stars for the shakes -3 starts for the food. The food is ok, nothing better than any of the burger spots around town. Our burgers were a little in the cold side and the fries were soggy and cold. We ate onsite.

Alex G.

Yelp
Great food, even better shakes! The guy that I believe is the manager was extremely nice to me and my friend. I will be back :)

Lindsey H.

Yelp
This place is trash! My milkshake was literally only 3/5 full. My compostable straw split and half and soda all over my nice white shirt. I ordered burgers they came the size of sliders. And everything was colder than the Colorado sidewalk. I'm never going back. I will be going to in n out as it is a much better establishment.

Jb L.

Yelp
Greasy and overcooked burger. No grilled chicken sandwiich on the menu--just fried. Sorry, but I don't understand the cult-like status of this burger chain. The closeby Cherry Cricket offers much broader burger and chicken options minus the grease.

Todd A.

Yelp
Wow. They just don't even try here. It's weird to watch... This place has really lost its swing since its amazing days in nyc. How are these people trained?! Food has suffered too. Go to Smashburger

Randall M.

Yelp
Stood in line for the 30mins, then they tell us they aren't making more shakes. How does the shake shack not have shakes. May as well call it the shakeless shack.

Mark L.

Yelp
By far my favorate burger place. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. If you dont like this burger, your probably not a meat eater.

Brandon A.

Yelp
I'm starting to see a trend in Denver restaurants since moving here a few months ago. Everything is cheaply made, tiny portions, and extremely over priced. Don't waste your time going here. Just go to five guys. At least there they'll give you a bunch of fries with their tiny burger. This place is a giant rip off. Tiny burger for 8 dollars. How owners can charge 8 dollars for this 50 cent burger is ridiculous

Yelp
So today for i decided to give shake shack a try because ive heard nothing but go things about it. So ordered a cheese burger, lettus, onion, mayo and mustard and bacon cheese fries. What recieved was plain burger with jus onions and fries with a side of cold cheese and a side of bacon. When I called about my order i was told there was nothing he could do about it an that he was sorry. I guess thats what o get for ordering fast food..
