Shake Shack F Street

This Shake Shack was amazing! The food was great and the place was very clean. Service was awesome. Jeremy not only delivered our food, but was so nice to keep check on us and everyone in the restaurant.

One of the most dirtiest shake shack ever. I have received my burger cold and a hair in my fries. (I wish i took a picture of it.) i have asked to change my fries and they did without even saying sorry 🤢🤢 It is very easy to cover your hair !!!!!!

Had an amazing experience at Shake Shack! The burgers were absolutely delicious. The Shroom Burger, with its crispy portobello mushroom patty, was bursting with flavor and had the perfect crunch. The Veggie Shack was equally impressive, featuring a juicy Beyond Meat patty, crispy onions, and tangy pickles that added a great balance. The crinkle-cut fries were soft on the inside, crisp on the outside, and had just the right amount of spice to keep things exciting. The food was so good, I completely forgot to take a picture – that’s how satisfying it was!

Worst Shack Shack experience ever. Ordered 4 shakes, didn’t taste like other banana pudding shakes at other locations. The service was the worst I’ve experienced in awhile. We waited 10++ minutes and there was no one in the store. When we finally got our shakes they were not full. I asked them why and said said it’s not normal they said that us how it comes and laughed at us.

Absolutely an amazing meal & atmosphere! Walter, Tom & Jeremy went above and beyond to make the experience incredible! We brought a group of 32 people and not only was it efficient but the best meal I’ve had in Washington DC. Make sure you stop and visit if you’re in the area- you will not be sorry

One of the worst service experiences I have had at Shake Shack. People don't care about customers. Slow, inefficient, not caring about business at all. I always thought Shake Shack is a decent place to eat at, but I will not be back at Shake shack. Here is a picture of a "double scoop" ice cream served to us (we asked to separate the flavors)

Food was delicious Ordered 3 burgers on the app because the line was super long. Had to wait 30 minutes to get my food while several groups behind me got their food first. Tried to ask about my order but was ignored by staff. When they finally acknowledged me they grabbed my bag of food that was sitting on the back counter for who knows how long. I know they’re busy but maybe trying to take care of orders already made would help with the efficiency.

$45 for 2 burgers, fries and shakes. For that price, it better be unbelievable and it wasn't. You want it to be good because of the price but it's not. It's like you finally get the nerve to ask out that hot girl and after spending 10 minutes with her you realize she wasn't worth it. That's a Shake Shack burger.

3 stars for food 5 stars for service 3 stars for location The burger patties are super flavorful and cooked perfectly. Toppings were a bit scant and they forgot to add onions as requested. Their special sauce didn't taste much different than mayo. The bun was very fresh. Fries were crispy but lacked flavor. Milkshakes and malts were great. The 2 employees working out by the tables bringing food were super nice, helpful, and made you feel very welcome. It is a very cramped space inside. We had strollers from walking around dc all morning and there weren't really any places to put them even folded up. We felt really bad because they were kind of sticking out and people were having to maneuver around them. Made the whole meal very stressful.

We were sitting here waiting for our dine in order - letting out ice cream melt on the counter - no one called my name and I got the confirmation order text but not the ready order text. I finally came up to check and asked why and they didn't know... really bad service. But plenty of seating and amazing ice cream as usual

The staff here are a fun energetic bunch, and made the atmosphere great; the place gets packed so there's no where to sit and that's the draw back. Other than that the food is great!

In the heart of DC. This place offers up some of the best burgers and shakes. Service can be a bit long but know that you're getting it fresh. Not much on ambiance but don't let it scare you away. You're there for the food.

Shake Shack located in Washington Union Station. Not a great location. It was small, not as much light or brightness as you would expect, and tables/counters were not as wiped down good. The cashier that took our order did not have the best customer service, which was a disappointment since we came as visitors from another state. The guy didn't smile, didn't greet us, and had not expression. After ordering, we tried to fill up ketchup, but the pump on both sides were empty, and the ketchup packets were really sticky. For the food: fries were great! It wasn't soggy, wasn't too salty, and the fries just were like any other good tasting fries. The burger. Fell apart soooo easily. It had no sauce whatsoever & our hamburger was sort of under cooked. I've been to other Shake Shacks, and unfortunately this one just didn't meet the standards of the other locations.

Everyone who works here tries their best to make sure everyone feels okay and well taken care of. I want to especially shout out Walton and Don, who really made sure everyone dining in had everything they needed. Despite it being packed in there on a Friday night of course, we got our 3 burgers in less than 10 minutes. The food all tasted great. It's also SUPER CLEAN in here. The bathroom was clean too. I would recommend for you to come here when you're in the mood for a fast food burger.

The ambiance felt and looked like any standard fast food joint, but the energetic and friendly staff made the restaurant feel much more lively! The double Shackburger hit the spot.

This Shake Shack location never misses for me. I'd suggest you order thru the app for pickup to avoid a longer wait because they are typically busy. My go to bacon cheese burger add lettuce tomato and shake sauce w/ a side of cheese fries. They hit again today on my lunch order, therefore I thought it be good to show them some love.

Service is always phenomenal! I don't eat here often but the 2 times I have I remember the service was good and my food was always hot and ready as I order ahead on the app. It's a pretty busy spot during lunch so I've always took my food to go but there is a nice seating area to eat in.

It's a pretty standard Shake Shack chain with plenty of seating in the Penn Quarter area. Service is pretty good, food comes out at a reasonable time, and the food itself meets expectation.

I really love the shakes here and the food is good too. The service is friendly, but can be slow. It seems a slower than other locations and of course worse when it gets busy. Worth visiting for the shakes for sure.

Stopped here while en route to a concert at the adjacent Capital One Arena. We originally had our sights set on a pizza place down the block but due to time constraints we doubled back to here. It didn't look busy but upon entry the line inside was snaked. **IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU IMMEDIATELY DOWNLOAD THEIR APP AND ORDER HERE** They have a team that takes and handles the online ordering so you'll get your food before you even get to order if you wait in-house in line. Main issue here was the fact their shake machines were down. Hard to gauge things when you can't get one of their main staples. I got a double regular burger and an order of fries. I forgot to order a drink so just got water. Burger was great - taste was on-par with the usual if you have been to one of these. Fries were also good. I would put it alongside any other Shake Shack I have been to - just the lack of the shake option drops this to a 3.

As far as burgers go, I've had them all and not many chains are going to give you the burger experience that Shake Shack will. Delicious and juicy burgers. Crispy fries. Wonderful milkshakes and lemonades. It's a burger lovers dream. You bite into this burger and you suddenly forget about the cares of the world, and the calories. It's a must if you're in a city that has one. They don't disappoint.

Good food for a good price. Staff was a little all over the place but they were getting food out quickly. I didn't spot anyone out front wiping tables though. Lots of take out food going out the door. Instead of that 2 hour lunch at nearby restaurants, I would drop in here again. Not far at all from the National Portrait Gallery. (Cheese fries were just crinkle cut fries with a cheese sauce and the bacon came on the side. I thought that was a bit odd. But, the cheese was good.)

I ordered both Shack burger and Shack Stack, comparing with the normal Shack burger, Shack Stack is really something, the shroom is crispy outside and creamy inside with tasty mushroom. The chocolate milkshake is also a must try for chocolate lover.

Delicious food and excellent service. The barbecue sauce was the perfect addition to the chicken and fries. It is quaint inside.

Great food and front of the house service. But somehow my order was lost in the lineup and I waited over 35 minutes for my order while others came and went. All I ordered was a chicken sandwich and fries.

Ordered via Uber eats while visiting. Food was good and hot. The burger is yummy but didn't have a lot of juice. I got the burger with the shroom on it and it was fantastic. Fries were crispy but had a weird oily aftertaste. Cookies n cream malted shake was yumm.

It was good. It's not somewhere I have to run back to everytime. But the chicken sandwich was good. The kids enjoyed their burgers. The shakes are the best part. The fries were okay. And I wasn't a fan of the cheese sauce. For a family of 5 it was about $100. As for the service.. you order on a tablet and don't have much interaction w the employees

It's a Shake Shack. Read the other long-winded reviews for details. I will say I have not experienced such courtesy to my food sensitivities in quite some time as I have here today. The counter and cook staff could not be more conscientious.

Trendy. The food aroma smells great upon arrival. What I didn't like is that my order was not delivered to my table as indicated on the kiosk - considering I tipped when I initially placed my order. Lesson learned. All in all the food tasted alright.

Today I decided to try their chicken sandwich for the first time for a change. It was not a good idea after all. I ordered online an Avocado Bacon Chicken Burger and fries. The fries were fine but sliced avocado was missing in my Avocado Bacon Chicken. (As in my photo) But I was already away from the store so I had to walk all the way back there and told them at the Pick Up counter. A male staff listened to me and then had a staff scoop some avocado pieces and gave me in a burger box. (As in my photo) But unfortunately no apology. The avocado given to me was not really slices as shown in the menu photo but scooped by spoon. I will avoid this location. I think I like the Tysons Corner location better. Danny Meyer's philosophy is not shown at this F Street location.

Not the best location of Shake Shack. Service and food quality was fine but the inside was very cramped. The tables were very close to each other and I felt like people were gonna bump into me at any moment. I would not come back to this location unless I was doing take out.

Great service. Friends first time trying shake shack. and the server domo very patient and informative. And the manager Moo moo was very attentive going table to table making sure everyone was good.

Very organized staff. They worked like a well oiled machine. They were all nice and happy. Wait times were reasonable considering the busy time of day. I did place an order online because we accidentally ordered one burger too few. The website said I would get a text when it was ready. I stood and waited for almost 20 minutes and got no text, so I finally asked (because my wait time estimate was 11-16 minutes). Turns out my burger was in a bag on the shelf for all that time and I didn't know. But I was trying not to be impatient and ask. Should've just asked!

I ordered an hour ahead with a planned pick up fro 3pm while on a bus coming from NY from their app. When I arrived, my order was ready and I actually had to devour my meal immediately in the restaurant as I was in between meetings. Sadly, it was cold so a bit unappetizing. However there was a nice condiment station with self service water and fairly decent bathrooms.

The menu board shows numerous items that are not available due to being discontinued. Moreover, customers cannot place an order or a special request with a human anymore. Either you try to order from the touch screen--which entails giving them your name and phone number and other information--or else you can't order at all. They have made it so cumbersome and detailed to order that we eventually gave up. TRULY PITIFUL!!!!

Shake Shack is probably one of my favorite burger joints! It's a little $$ but definitely worth the money for what you get! They have a variety of signature burgers, fries and shakes. They also have soda and beer for purchase. They are also known for the shack sauce which is delicious on the shack burger!

Come here for lunch often. Tasty fresh food. Great for groups. Quick service! Definitely stop by!

I stopped into this Shake Shack location for an early dinner after a play matinee to try the white truffle Shroom burger. I was able to order fairly quickly but ended up having to wait about 20 mins for my food (a long time for this chain). By the time my order was ready, the burger was cold. Overall I thought this location was less efficient and clean than other Shake Shack locations I've visited.

Great experience! Employees were friendly and helpful, and the food was awesome - we had burgers, fries and the chicken bites. We left full and ready for more fun in DC!

Soooo good! We'd given up on Shake Shack after getting consistently sub-par food at the M Street SE location (cold, burnt burgers, missing cheese, etc.). But today, we decided to give our favorite location another shot and we are SO glad we did! We ordered lettuce-wrapped Double Shack burgers with cheese, crispy onions, tomatoes and Shack Sauce. The burgers were hot, perfectly seasoned, and juicy with the perfect amount of "crust." The crispy shallots were a delicious touch. And the fries were fantastic! Shake Shack has reclaimed its position at the top of our list! Thanks, F Street Team!!

I got a veggie burger in lettuce and wow was it good. It did take a little while to come out, but they were busy, and it was not outrageously long.

There is a staff member maybe a manager literally making sure customers stay in compliance one man walked away from the seating area w/o his mask to get napkins and had to be told multiple staff to put his mask on. The food came out in a timely matter. Always fresh, nice staff and whenever there's a line it moves rather quickly. I love the crinkle fries and usually get cheese sauce with nuggets or a chicken sandwich. I have to remind myself to take a picture next time before I start eating b/c I'm usually hungry . There are also kid friendly and healthy-ish options.

Everyone liked the food, wait wasn't long and we got take out so didn't check out the dining area. Stop and get a shake!

Shake shack is amazing! This restaurant really lives up to its reputation. They serve "smash" style burgers on a seasoned flat top. The burgers have a mild char on the outside that is slightly crispy and perfectly cooked beef, just beneath the surface. These burgers are dressed on a soft, nicely toasted bun, with shack sauce. I highly recommend trying the flat top dog, even if they aren't your thing. The dog is very similar to the smash burgers, in that, they have a crispy outer crust and are served on a toasted bun. They are split down the middle for grilling and it makes for an evenly cooked hotdog. Another surprise was how nice the staff were. They are very attentive and explain menu questions very well. Shake shack also has a well designed app that I recommend you use, if you're in a hurry or would like your order to-go.

This location was a surprise to me because this is DC and we all know how busy DC can be but this place trumps every other Shake Schack i've been to in NY (Midtown or Soho areas) or other locations in DC! The burger was prepared like it was book written good! Burger was tasty, smooth and just the right temperature! Even the fries tasted good and the chocolate shake was also good! Wow, even customer service was excellent! When I asked for a refill, staff gave me a completely new cup of perfectly amount of ice to diet coke ratio! I felt like I was transported in some 50s (only imagined) Pleasantville! That was an exceedingly and surprisingly great burger day especially we were showing relatives visiting DC for the first time from that square town in Texas! It was a particularly hot Summer day and this place gave solace and a bit(e) of happiness! Our visitors were impressed, ya'll! Kodus and I happily give my elusive 5 stars for this location downtown DC! There is a Shake Schack near my office in the Navy Yard but it pales slightly in comparison! I think consistency is key so keep up the good work!

So overrated, the food isn't that great, the quality and quantity is over priced. The restaurant is dirty and very messy. Orders take forever and usually not correct or something is missing. I won't go back there

I love Shake Shack. I had been to the one in Manhattan and even Hong Kong. But sadly, this location is really not up to the usual Shake Shack standard. The cleanliness was questionable. With an open kitchen, I could see how messy it was and the floor just filthy. At condiment counter was dirty and everything was sticky. (I hope staff would have check the condition more often) The burgers we ordered were good. Their "famous" fries with cheese sauce tasted stale. Maybe we were here at the end of the day? I was disappointed as I always consider visiting Shake Shack whenever I travel as we don't have one in Toronto.

Food was great as always! Service was exceptional considering the Saturday evening crowd! Wayne kept things moving and his interactions with the customers had people laughing! Key member of the team. Everyone did a great job! From cashiers to the cooks and cleaning crew! Keep up the great work!

Always love me some shake shack once in a while! We were heading to an event that was minutes away and we're all conveniently craving some burgers. You can't go wrong by trying the Shack Burger with some fries. I wish they had some old bay to go with the fries but was told that they had run out in that location. Service was prompt and professional, and has always been my experience. Very good for a quick burger craving when you're around the gallery place area.

Weve gone to a different location and was not satisfied with the food.. however this location actually took us by surprised. Top it off with Great service specially JEREMY who was very attentive to the customer's needs. The cashier was also very friendly .

Shake Shack is pretty good as far as their burgers and fries go but they are overrated IMO. I don't understand why this place stays shoulder to shoulder packed with a line out the door every single time. But my family wanted to come here for lunch. You're guaranteed to feel some level of anxiety when you're here, from waiting for your food to finding a table- btw everyone is scavengers here when it comes to snagging a table! It is absolute craziness. My buzzer went off indicating my order was ready but when I went to the counter, it was still being prepared. I waited another 5 minutes before I was handed my food only to notice an item was missing...so I had to wait another 5 minutes...as I was standing there, more customers were coming up complaining they had been missing at least one item on their order....the manager was very chill handling everyone's mishaps and kept it together. However, one employee was obviously fed up and took her gloves off and left the service counter....yeah that's how bad it was!

The shack stack is a good choice if you love cheese, but don't want to miss out on a beef burger. Mine came with a curtesy "caution hot" sticker, which I appreciated. Inside the shroom burger is a gooey and stretchy mix of Muenster and cheddar cheeses. I ate the whole thing plus some fries. It was a heavy meal and very good, but I don't think I would spend another ~11 dollars on one. It was a mission to bite off sections of the portobello mushroom and I feel like I couldn't even taste the mushroom under all that cheese. Also the patties aren't as thick as I usually prefer for my burgers. The crinkle fries are nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They are lightly salted and enjoyable. Service wise, the people are friendly but one of the workers offered my table ketchup packets that may or may not have been from another table that was just cleaned up. This is worrying and kind of gross considering we are living in a pandemic and sharing germs is a public safety concern.

So this was my 1st time ever eating at a shake shack . I see it all the time in NYC and its always packed . But when I go to NYC- I go for bigger spots than a shake shack etc .... so when a friend wanted to eat here while we were in DC . I was down to check it out. I should gave tried the shake burger as my 1st . But I tried the " shroom burger " . Now it was good also but I was under the impression that it was mushrooms on top of a beef burger. But it was my fault- I didn't read it more thoroughly. Anyway the mushroom was fried in a breadcrumb or Panko type layer . Again Very good but just wanted to babe a beef burger . Lol . My friends LOVED their beef burger lol . One had bacon cheese burger. Not huge burgers as far As size but it liked the size . It was filling. We shared fries. Ehh . wasn't impressed with the fries that much. Burgers are about 7-10 bucks Once you order - you get a pager to hold onto until your order is ready. Inside was pretty clean. Located across the street from the Smithsonian American Art Museum If I come back to a shake shack. It's to try a beef shake burger :)

My husband and I ate here today and it was quick service! Our burgers were good, also fries. We did get a Christmas milkshake each, peppermint and gingerbread, my husband said the peppermint shake was great. The gingerbread tasted kind of plain, and doughy. Overall it was a great experience even during what seemed like a busy time!

During the summer months, get here early before the crowds. Otherwise, you'd have to stand around and stalk people while they are eating to find a seat. I've had their burgers before, but this day, I felt like eating a bit healthier but couldn't find any salads in the menu. I opted to have a chicken sandwich bun-less, protein-style, and it turned into a delicious salad! Boy was I happy. Since I made a somewhat healthy choice with my meal, it allowed me to splurge on the cheese fries. Which are a yummy gooey hot mess of thick crinkle fries (think school cafeterias fries but actually very tasty and crispy). Perfect lunch!
