Absolutely amazing spot in Detroit! The chicken bites were super crispy and full of flavor — cooked just right. And don’t even get me started on the Dubai chocolate… rich, smooth, and totally addictive. Definitely coming back again soon!

Google
The food was amazing, I got the regular burger, and my boyfriend got a regular double. We also got a banana pudding shake, which was delicious, and not too sweet. The cherry lemonade thing we got was also really good, it wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it was like a good probiotic drink.

Google
This location is a nice one, as it's pretty spacious. I will say that they did not have the water dispenser working when I was there, which was disappointing. Aside from that, the food was good, it came in a timely manner, and the staff was friendly.

Google
This location in Detroit was very welcoming and the flow of customer service was smooth. I was able to order online after finding a table. This was super convenient. I had the truffle fries that turned out perfectly! I highly recommend. Kudos to the manager coming to our table to check on us and offer refills. 👏 We will be back!

Google
The burger was soooo good! I was a little hesitant to try it out because some of the reviews said the meat wasn’t cooked right? But I honestly thought it was perfect! Also, I really like the location. It’s not too far from the Riverwalk. However, I would recommend getting cheese sauce on the fries because they were a little bland, I think I’ll do that next time. The new manager also seems very passionate and friendly.

Google
This restaurant exceeded expectations, especially given that it was the only place open after 10:00 p.m. in the area. The food was cooked fresh. The fries were a little greasy, but they were fresh too. The crowd was very much of the late night variety, but everything remained cool and collected. I definitely recommend this place for an after-hours bite.

Google
This was my first time trying this place, and it was phenomenal! 🤩 I think the service was pretty good. They moved very quickly and they were pretty busy. I think this is probably one of the best fast food burger places around. If you're ever in the area, definitely stop by! 🍔🍟 #Burgers #Food #Service #FastFood #Restaurant

Google
Eric and the rest of the staff uphold a wonderful standard that I wish I had seen at more establishments. They are welcoming, helpful, and very clean! Our food was fresh and beyond tasteful. It Doesn't matter where I am in Michigan; I always choose this location! I live close to two hours away. I pass the Sterling Heights location, as well as the Troy location, and the downtown location, which makes me happy. I did every time.

Yelp
Shake Shack in Downtown Detroit that has amazing banana pudding shakes as well as a super convenient and easy-to-use-and-order kiosk system. Very cool interior setting with Detroit insignia and pictures of Detroit legends like Joe Lewis and Aretha's Franklin. Again, their shakes are amazeballs. Check it out in downtown Detroit!
google avatar

Yelp
If you don't want to spent a lot of money on food in downtown. This Shake Shack location is always a refuge for that. Usually very busy on the weekend, and might not able to find a place to sit. Tried the new black truffle burger and black truffle fries. It is good but I don't see anything special. It has crispy onion and cheese. A double and fries cost me $20. I will just stick with regular shack burger next time.
google avatar

Amber S.

Yelp
Very busy after ice skating. You can order from the kiosk and wait at the table for your order. It was pretty packed, but orders came out in about ten minutes. We ordered the seasonal shakes and burgers. They were delicious! It was hard to stop drinking the chocolate cake shake. I appreciate that they have calories on the menus too so you can make informed choices.

Yelp
My wife went with the shack burger with cheese fries. While I went with the bacon avocado cheese burger. This is a Military friendly restaurant. Bunch young kids working...we picked wrong day to eat here there is Detroit game it just blew up with people.
google avatar

Yelp
Avocado bacon cheeseburger don't miss out on their variety of shakes. The one by the beach is nice overlooking the ocean is a plus.

Yelp
Well, for a shake shack I'd rate it pretty high because the food was ready quickly on a semi-busy night, there was seating, it was clean enough, the service was nice, and the food was exactly as expected. I don't feel like I have much to say about it, it's a typical Shake Shack if you know what that's like. If you don't, it's a fast food burger but to me, better than those very big chains. The chicken bites aren't bad and the fries are decent. It's what you'd expect if you go in there, really, which I think is pretty valid. You get what you think you'll get and I value their consistency. I don't expect the best burger of my life but I was very hungry and I appreciated the avocado burger, though it could've used a bit of seasoning. Thus, if you're in the area and you just need to eat something, this is a place can recommend. I personally don't love the interior vibes but there is a good amount of seating available.
google avatar

Julisa S.

Yelp
The cheese Burgers are amazing, I love the cookies and cream shake along with the cheese fries. Can be a little greasy but the meat is always cooked fresh.

Yelp
Fast service, food decent and ambiance nice and clean. Had 2 hot dogs which was decent and cheeseburger was pretty good
google avatar

Yelp
Solid restaurant, large place too that offers vast amounts of seating too compared to other locations. Upon arrival you have to order from one of the 3 kiosks, it's not an establishment where you order food at the front. I ordered one of their burgers to go. It was a bit pricey. For those who are big about using cash only like me. They do have a cash only Lane. Wait times are a bit long it all depends on when you choose to come in. Restaurant is clean too for a great dine in experience. Overall solid location in the heart of the city.
google avatar

Yelp
Free water self serve lol chicken was very good as well were the fries and shake for the kids they loved them will be back for sure

Yelp
If you are hungry, never stop to get food here. We waited for more than 35 minutes. The bathrooms were super duty and slippery.
google avatar

Sandy D.

Yelp
We don't have a Shake Shack in Hawaii. Food- My burger with gluten free bun was cooked perfectly along with my fries. I got a refill of my iced tea/lemonade. Service- The person taking my order was friendly and my order came out correct so that was good. Overall, a good experience!
google avatar

Yelp
This is what you get for avocado burger with extra avocado. food quality is Good, not a great value for your money

Yelp
Personally I think Shake Shack is overrated. Last week I spent $17 on a combo meal with a veggie burger, fries and a drink and left still hungry. If I'm gonna pay that much I might as well clear the twenty dollar mark at Five Guys and at least get a good sized burger and a heaping mess of well seasoned fries rather than the paltry portions at Shake Shack. Maybe it was the veggieness of my burger- their beef burgers are nice and juicy- but overall I still think there's better burger places for the money. Took me a long time to get my food my last visit, too. And I got my order in before the adult chaperones with a whole squad of kids in ball caps. I couldn't help but wonder if any of the grown folks in that group was enjoying an adult beverage to help deal with dealing with all those kids. I kinda feel the availability of beer and wine is what really gives Shake Shack such esteem in so many people's eyes. There's a cool mural of a map of Detroit with all kinds of landmarks down to houses in here and it's about the best thing going character wise here. Not impressed by the super expensive Shinola bike over the front door and no one seems to pay any attention to any of the six TVs on different channels with the sound down. I really don't get the hype with this wannabe hipster burger chain. It's not terrible but there's much better burger joints around. They haven't even got Shaq as a spokesman and he'll advertise anything! How can they pass up Shake Shaq?
google avatar

Allen S.

Yelp
Worst shake shack location I've ever visited, the staff does not care about serving the public, 80% of the time the tables are dirty. They will let your food get cold before serving it to you if they remember too
google avatar

Yelp
This was the second time I experienced Shake Shack. My first experience was at the Dulles airport. Location in Washington DC. Once again, we had delicious burgers and hot fries! My husband and I both love the bacon avocado cheeseburger. We plan to go there again the next time we're in downtown Detroit. We love it!
google avatar

Tamara K.

Yelp
Shake shack is a consistent product. It's gonna be a great burger, good fries and delicious shake. The crew at this location hustles hard and the wait time isn't bad but order ahead on the app for your fastest fast food delivery.
google avatar

Victoria G.

Yelp
Easy to order easy to pay food comes fast and hot never have any issues even durning dinner time they even bring it to you if you are dining in

Yelp
Jaslynn was fabulous thank you! Atmosphere was wonderful. And the ambiance was on point!

Yelp
This is my go to spot for food and it's shake shack they have a superb table service guy I don't know his mane but I will re up date when I find out. He is constantly looking out refills and ketchup delivered to the table

Yelp
Updating rating to 5 stars. I love this place! I come here all the time now. My favorite menu items is the shake shake burger and the chicken sandwich. Their fries are so crispy and crunchy. I just really miss the peanut butter shake so I opt for the salted Carmel one which is still really good and rich in flavor.

G T.

Yelp
CHARCOAL BURGERS Almost always burnt burgers- we've tried this location many times because we love Shake Shack in NYC. I think they leave the burgers on the grill waiting for customers rather than starting when ordering is placed. It's nothing like the Shake Shack in NYC. These burgers are DISGUSTING. Absolutely NO quality control.
google avatar

Joshua B.

Yelp
Unpredictable and not everything is available when ordering online. Which leaves the staff to punt a random item. Veggie burger ? Not available at this location so we put a chicken sandwich in there. Sometimes the Lobby has chaotic atmosphere akin to Lord of the flies. I've had decent experiences here before but this after a string of bad service is gonna keep me out of a shake shack for a while. Would not recommend.
google avatar

Aliya T.

Yelp
I always heard about this place and wanted to try it. I got a chicken sandwich instead of a burger but of course I had to get a shake! The caramel shake was really good, nice and creamy consistency, not too watery or so creamy you can't suck it through the straw. The chicken sandwich to my surprise had a lot of flavor, it was fresh, and super crispy! I would try this place again if I had the opportunity, not sure if they are on the West coast. This place is pretty busy during lunch time - so wouldn't consider this too quick of a place to grab a bite.

Yelp
Extremely disappointing order fulfillment and the store is terribly managed. I ordered a plain cheese burger because I cannot eat anything that contains raw eggs yolks. They also took the Liberty to add tomatoes and lettuce which I did not request. Instead the exact opposite of my order was provided and since I didn't see it until I got home, it was unreasonable to go back out in freezing temps. Tried several times to call the store to speak to a manager to request a refund since I had to throw out the food and no one picked up. Tried the app to see if I can process a refund request and nothing. Definitely won't be going back here. Their menu is also extremely vague on whether or not they use pasteurized dairy. Just so you guys know, that is a critical piece of information especially for a significant chuck of the population (especially when you use raw egg yolk). Epic Fail! Wish I could give this place zero stars. I feel cheated.
google avatar

Yelp
Shake Shack. More here to say there's carry out parking on the corner of Woodward and Congress! I got it as carryout, so it's not fair to judge my level of satisfaction with a cooled off burger, but great quality ingredients. The place is super busy around dinner time (or maybe it's always that poppin' but I went Sunday around 6pm). I put the order in through their website and my order was ready in 10 mins. I felt bad for all those waiting in line and standing around for their orders. If you're overwhelmed by the in-person line, I'd say try to put your order in online instead! If you want it hot though, you gotta eat it right away! Also, they didn't have the food up on the shelves. Had to tell the guy behind the counter I was there to pick up an online order and they were ready, but sitting in the back.
google avatar

Nadia B.

Yelp
It took me a really long time before I convinced myself to try this place. I'm not big on chain restaurants, so I wasn't exactly excited about the opening of this location. The place is always busy, but the line seems to go fairly quickly considering how long the line always is. There's plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor (during summer). Food is good, but overpriced for being a fancy fast food joint. I recommend getting the shroom burger (it's stuffed with Muenster cheese) or Nashville hot chicken sandwich & an order of crinkle cut cheese fries because cheese fries are always a win.
google avatar

K H.

Yelp
I wouldn't suggest anyone to come here. The food is cold and when you say something the staff seem to take personal offense rather than fix it. I will not be returning or recommending this place as I am sure there are tons of great restaurants here in Detroit. If you are looking for expensive, cold food with unprofessional customer service this place is for you.
google avatar

Yelp
I finally had the pleasure of really eating a proper burger here. I had the shack burger which was pretty good,, also we shared an order of fries that was actually wonderful. My husband also ordered the Shack Stack which was phenomenal,, that portobello just takes the whole burger thing to another level. The way it goes is,, you line up, bark your order, they ring you up, give you a pager and you wait. Once the pager rings, you take your food back to the table of your choice and you smash. It's a no B.S. joint,, and i had a pretty good time eating and chatting it up here. It's cheap, its convenient, WHY NOT!? RIGHT? Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

Yelp
I really enjoyed my first time at Shake Shack! Another great addition to the downtown area. My boyfriend and I stopped in around 7PM on a Sunday evening. There was a small line in front of us, which we didn't seem to mind. The workers were getting things prepared quickly and efficiently. The menu board is huge and readable for everyone, which I enjoyed! We ordered two Chick N Shack sandwiches, a small order of the crinkle fries, a large soda, and a cookies and cream shake. The gentleman at the counter helping us was really kind and welcoming! As we waited in line for our order, I got us a table. Everything was cleaned off nicely and the dining area has lots of space and TV's. Did you know their tables are made from used bowling alley lanes? Awesome! Our food was delivered promptly and let me tell you, it was worth the 10-15 minute wait! I'm a big fan of the Chick Fil A chicken sandwich and this was even better than that (Didn't think that was possible!) It was crispy, fresh, hot, and the taste was SO GOOD. I may opt to even try the hot version of it next time. The crinkle fries were also just as good. The shake also really hit the spot! It was more than enough for us to share and the taste made my tastebuds happy. There was enough food for us to leave full (Some have said the portions are small.) Our meal was about $26 for two people. Would some say that was a lot for two people? Yes. However, if you went to any other place in the area, you're likely to pay that amount for a chicken sandwich and fries as is.

Yelp
I don't know why I like the burgers and chicken sandwiches at Shake Shake - but I do! I have been to locations also in NYC, Kuwait, and Dubai. The taste is consistently great. This location is Detroit has a good amount of seating. Also a great location next to Campus Martius and all the activities that go on there. The menu is a bit on the pricier side for fast casual. The fries are also pretty good. The burger is juicy and on the thinner side, which is how I prefer them. Their shakes are also highly recommended and well worth your stop just for one of them.
google avatar

Vivian D.

Yelp
My food is always fresh and delicious, but the last visit I had to wait in a long long in order to get my food that was suppose to be sitting on a shelf for me to just pick up. Not worth the time.
google avatar

Yelp
When I say I'm pissed! I'm pissed! So I order shack shake off door dash and they sent me old fries and old burger that's clearly been sitting there! I live no more than 10 minutes from shack shake and I got my food 20 minutes within the time I ordered! So they basically rushed to give me bad food! The Burgas 3 crumbs of bacon on it! Literally and chicken skin! I kid you not chicken skin!!! My shake was old too! With no whipped cream! And my fries had very old cheese. One part of my cheese fries was clearly a different color than the rest! Shake shack usually is good but DONT GET TAKE OUT OR DELIVERY! I'm pregnant and immediately threw up when I ate a fry, which is why I checked them in the first place! I hope they can send my money back on door dash! They are too expensive to be giving food like this!
google avatar

Yelp
I can't imagine the day Shake Shack lets me down, because I've been here numerous times and I've always had some superior customer service. It's quite surprising for a Fast Food joint. But this isn't your regular corner fast food joint. The quality of the food, ambiance/seating, and great service is what sets it apart from all the others. They always get my complicated order correct. There was one incident where they made a small mistake, they apologized numerous times and I had a new burger within a minute and it wasn't even a big deal! The food and ingredients are always, alwayssssss fresh. Crispy lettuce, the only way lettuce should be served. Ben is also someone worth noting! He messaged me to discuss my positive experience and thank me. So, as you can see the service of this franchise doesn't end after you receive your food, it continues well on to make sure you keep coming back. They most definitely got me hooked on!

Yelp
Update: Hello Jake I've tried to reach you but don't see the option available to message you directly. If you could message me directly or put an email down below of where I can contact you that would be great. Was talked into trying shake shack by my cousin who's a regular there. This was my first time trying this place and possibly my last. After looking over the menu I decided to get a chicken sandwich after hearing good reviews on it. I placed my order and picked it up shortly afterwards. Arrived home to enjoy my meal and noticed how tiny the sandwich was,the chicken its self was the size of a condiment container. The chicken was also extremely dry. For the price I paid i expected to have gotten more for my money, guess I shouldn't of had my hopes up for this place.

Yelp
It is not my first time coming here. My experience here is always pleasant. The customer service is great. The food is served hot off the grill/fryer. My order consisted of the Chick'n Shack and the Double Cheeseburger. The Double Cheeseburger was sizzling hot when I first bit into it. The melted cheese was so hypnotizing, and it was worth the early bite. The Chick'n Shack was scolding hot as well. I meant to ask for it for no buttermilk herb mayo, but thankfully they did not drown the sandwich in the mayo like some other restaurants do. The only thing that I am not too pleased with at this restaurant is its prices. For these two sandwiches without any sides or drinks, it was over $16! That is a bit much in my opinion, but I understand that comes with the nature of its downtown Detroit location.
google avatar

Yelp
Per usual shake shack hit the exact spot it needed to hit. I was in Detroit for work and did a pretty easy job convincing my coworkers to all follow suit and hit up shake shack. I am a strong proponent that Shake Shack is greater than In N Out and my group had (majority) only been to the later. So it was a great treat to share this with them. It was a short line so i immediately went up and ordered my normal - shack burger and fries but this time I added on a glass of wine (and yes I kept the plastic wine tumbler it came in!) and the motor city mix. VERY HAPPY I GOT THIS. the local chocolate used in the mix was heavenly. Service was fast and friendly. Only downfall - bathrooms were seriously in need of a cleaning. You could tell a baseball game had recently gotten out - I will say that. All in all - I love this chain of restaurant and can't wait to get to more.
google avatar

Yelp
The online ordering was excellent, but unfortunately, it went downhill from there. I asked if mustard and ketchup were in the bag. The person who brought put my food said yes, and like a fool, I believed her, and of course, they were not. It was my fault for not checking. I ordered a Shack burger and a chicken dog. The Shack burger was terrible. The burger was overcooked. It was beyond well done. The chicken dog was not good and especially had to eat it plain. Because I didn't have any mustard or Ketchup. It also seemed to be over cooked. My buddy got cheese Fries and a Hot dog and a Strawberry Shake. He said the hot dog was terrible, but the cheese fries and strawberry shake was good.

Yelp
This was a typical visit to Shake Shack here in Detroit. The service: spot on, every one had a smile. The food: fantastic, came out hot, fresh, and quick. The aesthetic: beautiful portraits of Motown Artists, City of Detroit Map, and even a Shinola Bicycle locates in-front of a Shake Shack Rendition of the Spirit of Detroit. In all, great experience here at Shake Shack Detroit and will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a nice experience at this shack! I had a shackburger, which never disappoints (Just look at that picture ). I also tried a few new (to me) items: chicken bites and buttermilk dipping sauce. The chicken was so hot and fresh--the batter almost melted off when I took a bite! The batter almost reminded me of fish and chips batter, it was really unique and perfectly crisp, but not overly crunchy. The chicken was high quality meat, not comminuted . I LOVED the buttermilk dipping stuff. I'm not really a sauce person (I know, I'm weird), but this stuff was BOMB. The restaurant was clean and the staff went above and beyond to make my experience the absolute best--they came by my table to check on me and served me very quickly. I got to meet the manager as well, who is very passionate about his restaurant and extremely friendly. Nice crew! I also loved the location. It's a super fun spot right downtown, the only downside is finding parking. If you're just going for shake shack, I would maybe recommend going to another location because it will be tricky or expensive to park and go enjoy this one. But if you're already downtown, be sure to hit this place up!!!

Yelp
The food was very good. Minimum wait time. Perfect place to eat when your hanging Downtown Detroit.

Yelp
I've been to this Shake Shack several times, but for one reason or another never had an actual beef burger until today. Their chicken sandwiches are good, but their burgers are excellent. I ordered a Double SmokeShack burger, which comes with two patties, chopped cherry peppers, bacon, and ShackSauce. The sandwich was absolutely delicious, with a surprising heat from the peppers and a nice smokiness from the bacon. The fries were well-fried and well-salted, but the portion was disappointingly small. The cup of cheese sauce was amazingly delicious, but I could have used 50% more fries to make use of all the cheese sauce I was given. Inside the restaurant it's a madhouse especially during the lunch hour, but they have the logistics pretty well figured out. Give me some more fries and you got five stars!
google avatar

Anthony B.

Yelp
Came into this location today for the first time, though I am not new to Shake Shack I've been to them in New York and Vegas. In the larger cities I would expect to pay a little more for a burger but at this place 549 for a small size cheeseburger seems a little pricey. Oh well, when in Detroit and you want to burger I guess this is the place to go. I also ordered a chili that they had on their menu, they have only one size small and it is 549 as well, a lot pricey. When they gave me the chili it wasn't filled to the top so I took it back and have them top it off. When I went back to eat it it was so spicy I almost couldn't eat it almost took it back and wish I would have now. It is literally unedible chili.do these people here not try the food but just serve it?

Yelp
I love SS and have been waiting for this location to open! I've been to their NYC, Chicago and Detroit locations before and have never been disappointed with their food. I love the shack burger, the chick'n shack and their fries. Excited for the warmer months so I can sit outside and eat. Granted a meal will run you about $12-16 but it's worth it. The only reason they don't deserve a 5 is because of their parking situation! I am hoping they get their WiFi working soon too.
google avatar

Yelp
Mid-afternoon ice cream break. Yes, at Shake Shack. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their burgers and fries and their creamy custard ice cream. While In Detroit you can't not stop here for at least something ... like ice cream, or in my case the Concrete Mixer - their take on a blizzard but with local fixins', e.g. toffee covered peanuts from Rocky's Peanut Co, seasonal pie pieces from Sister Pie. Parking can be challenging but worth the search. Can't wait until their Troy location opens!!!!

Yelp
I dined at shake shack in New York, and it's great news that they branched out in Detroit. It is just across Campus Martius and the Qline. I wish I could say many great things about the food that I had while dining at this location. For the amount that I paid for the chicken burger the and fries, I would rather eat at the American Coney Island at the corner of La Fayette. I guess I should have picked the beef burger. The dining area was well-maintained, while the restroom needs to be checked regularly. If nobody is occupying the room, you might need to bring your receipt and look at the bottom to see the code that opens the restroom. Right! No code, no restroom. Liked the interior design, but not the price of the food and drinks. Its pricey for me. I could get better tasting burger, fries, and soda at a lower cost. They also sell merchandise with company logo.
google avatar

Raquel T.

Yelp
Sooooo good. This was my first time having a shack burger and it definitely won't be the last. The burgers are on the thin side which is perfect because you get that amazing texture. I just ordered a single which is one of their patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and of course the shack sauce. Honestly, you could put that sauce on a flip flop and it would taste good. There's a bit of variety to the menu-chicken, vegetarian, hot dogs, and sides. Shakes are of course legendary at shake shack. They use a lot of locally made mix ins for the shakes and concretes. Highly recommend downloading the app and bypassing the line completely!

Yelp
To be fair, I didn't try a shake. I have to be in the mood for one, and I wasn't. With as much as people talk about Shake Shack, though, my expectations were high. I was very excited that SS had a veggie burger, and even more excited to find out it was a portobello. Come to find out, it's stuffed with cheese and deep fried. I'm not the healthiest vegetarian, but adding cheese and deep frying a burger just ruins it. It was good....certainly not amazing. And they were out of red wine.... Fries were crispy and delicious, though, but that's about all I would go for.

Yelp
Not in Detroit. Terrible service and not the same quality food I've had at other Shake Shake's. If that would have been my first experience I'd never go back. Any other burger place beats this one.
