This was not a bad burger! And, I have to admit I am always skeptical of the chains! Now don't get me wrong, this IS an expensive burger! Expect to easily spend $40 on two people. Which, is pricey for a burger! Especially when you could go to any of my top 5 burger joints in Houston, and get a better burger for the same price. See my Best Burger Search for my top picks!
The FOOD:
- Shack Stack: This was pretty unique and I have to say, quite yummy as well. The meat was a little thin for my liking, but had great flavor. The patty was complimented by a big chunk of breaded and fried Mushroom, all between a soft and sweet bun. It was well put together, and you don't get the "ingredient slide-out" like some burgers can do. Everything stayed perfectly in tact through each bite. Rating: 4
- Fries: Ok, basically these are your typical Ore-Ida crinkle fries. Nothing special at all. Bland to boot. Come on guys. If you are going to charge and arm and a leg for your food, at least serve up some good tasting and/or unique fries! Rating: 1
- Shake (Strawberry): Ok, this was delicious. Thick and creamy, but also easy to slurp through a straw! Expensive, but good. Rating: 4
Ok, so the food was good in some respects and not so good in others. For the price point, I will probably not return, solely based on the fact that are so many other excellent burger joints in H Town, that not only serve excellent burgers, but also provide amazing fries options that you can't make at home. Additionally, if I am not wowed, I don't see the point in paying a butt load for food. Again, it was good, but did not wow me. Sorry Shake Shack.
