17 Essential Houston Burger Joints

"East coast import Shake Shack uses all natural beef and non-GMO potato rolls. The fried ‘shroom burger is perfect for vegetarians, and non-burger options include all natural chicken sandwiches and hot dogs that recall the company’s origin as a roadside cart. Pair you meal with a frozen custard, crisp crinkle-cut fries, and a doggy biscuit for four-legged friends in tow." - Baylea Jones, Eater Staff

The parking at this location is horrendous. I’ll start with that. It’s located in the Galleria (one of the biggest malls in America so parking is a challenge). I’d suggest blue lot of you can or yellow lot. The service here is great. Each staff person I encountered was extremely helpful, accommodating and nice. It was great. My only gripe is that the portions are small for what you pay. I ordered a cheeseburger (I think it’s the shake shack) and an order of fries. The total was $12. After eating I was still hungry (but that can be a personal problem). They have great menu options and even vegetarian/vegan selections. The milkshakes are good as well. For a burger chain, this is pricey for me. But cost set aside it’s a great lunch spot.

Google
Came here for lunch. We had Korean BBQ Burger, Shake Stack, Chicken Bites and Fries (one with cheese). Everything was good except the chicken bites were a little too salty for me. The seasonal milkshake, Coffee & Donuts was also delicious. We think Shake Shack is expensive but today's experience at this location was great and it was worth it.

Google
First-time visitor and I tried their new Korean burger—flavor-packed and juicy! I also ordered the Korean fries, which were tasty but a bit salty due to the seasoned salt. Overall, a great experience, and I'll definitely be back!

Google
Wow, what an experience. The staff here are amazing. From start to finish, everyone had a smile and also even helped take trays to clean up. This is my first time here, and it will not be the last time. It was hard to find at first, and I almost had to eat somewhere else. Luckily, I walked around and found it. I sent 8n an update for the location in Google Map, so hopefully, it changes soon. Try this place out.

Google
Deliciously awesome. My first bite was filled with a burst of flavor. I love the fries' flavor. The stackburger was the most delicious burger I've tasted! The price is a bit too off. Nevertheless it was a great meal.

Google
Update: We finally came back to this location after 3 years of first eating here, and we were surprised how different the food taste from our first experience. It was very good! We both got their cheeseburger. Although the flavor of the meat was mild for my taste it was moist and juicy, and tasted fresh. Paired with the bun, lettuce, tomato, and cheese you have a simple yet satisfying burger. We also got the crinkle fries and they were perfectly fried and salted. For their drinks, we tried the coffee shake for dessert/beverage and to us we thought it tasted more chocolate than coffee but that's not a bad thing since we like chocolate but definitely not a coffee shake. Overall it was about 25$, and I think it was worth it. I would come back. Old: It's okay. Not sure why it's hyped. We paid 20$ for 2 burgers and shared fries. The size of the burger is like In N out but instead of paying 4$ you pay 7$ and up. I get it's organic but to me I can make the burger they served. I expected uniqueness but it tasted just like a regular patty with bacon, cheese and a sweet relish type thing. My girlfriend got the chicken burger. It was extra crispy and greasy. The only thing we agreed on that was good is the fries with the bacon and mayo but for around 5$ I still don't think it was worth it. Good to try but wouldn't go out of my way getting it or come back to.

Google
The prices are too high for this place. SingleBurger $6.79 French Fries (small) $3.99 Small Coke $3.19 Total $15.12 and let me say this… it was NOT worth it and I will never be going back!! The guy who took my order was very nice.

Google
I had a spicy chick’n with fries. The fries were superb. Crispy and savory. The sandwich had Coleslaw and pickles. I liked the pickles, the slaw was a bit tasteless, and but added a nice crunch. The chicken was spicy not not too much. I wanted the breading to be crispier even though I liked how thin the breading was. Overall pretty good, and plenty of seating.

Yelp
Fries are good and fresh and pretty fast. Lockhart burger with jalapeño sausage has a good kick. I like Shack stack with the huge Portabella mushroom. I love shrooms so this is my go to. The fries are good also.

Yelp
I had shake shack for the first time in Chicago last year and have been craving it ever since! I'm pretty particular about my burgers, so anytime I get the opportunity to have Shake Shack, I stop in! The staff were all friendly and nice. The manager came by our table twice to see how everything was. The patties are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. My burger was delicious and it came out just how I ordered it. The fries were crispy and fluffy and perfect! I still wish I had a shake shack closer to home.

Yelp
This is the best shake shack in Houston! It is conveniently located in the Galleria. The staff is so nice and the wait for the food wasn't too long. The place was super clean although I took my food to go. I always get the chicken shack and French fries. Definitely stopping by again before I head back to New York!

Yelp
How do I describe an out of body experience? Shake Shack always transports me to a new realm. Their patties are juicy. The ShackBurger is the perfect size: not as small as a slider and not as large as a whopper. It fits the curvature of my hand perfectly. The mayonnaise oozes from the soft buns with every bite. The lettuce is not wilted. The tomatoes are fresh and the cheese is not overwhelming. I also decided to order two new items--the spicy cheese fries, which had the perfect amount of kick, though the cheese could have been more evenly distributed. The second new item was the dragonfruit pomegranate lemonade, which tasted like regular lemonade with floating berries, albeit too sugary. That being said, I would rate this location 6/5 stars if possible!

Addisyn D.

Yelp
Very fast, and EXTREMELY polite! I have never had such great service as I do now. It's not too loud either for a Saturday. The food is hot and fresh, and the lemonade is great! I just really wanted to brag on how sweet and polite they are here. Nothing like I've experienced before. Very pleased!

Brian C.

Yelp
I ordered a basic double cheeseburger. Just patties and cheese. One of the best, purest burger experiences I've ever had. Absolutely delicious and great service. They checked on us twice to see if we needed anything. Incredibly nice for a fast food place. My stomach growls again reminiscing how great the burger was.

Yelp
Tried out this location while at Galleria. The food was delicious and the best part was the service we got from Chris. He was the only one serving all the tables and he had a genuine smile on his way. This guy needs to be made the manager - he KNOWS customer service!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
I tried this place from Uber eats. My first time being a customer here was something I may never try again. I ordered the portobello mushroom burger with fries & ginger lemonade. Upon receiving my food, it was cold, soggy, and no flavor. The food tasted bland, the fries were cold and tasted like they were left out a long time, and the burger I had high hopes for did not taste fresh at all. I was thrilled to try the portobello burger because I'm a pescatarian and I've never tried anything like this before so as you can imagine my high hopes were let down tremendously that I had to throw my fries, and burger away. I will definitely not be ordering from here again if the food is like this.

Yelp
I know, I know... Shake Shack is $$$ for the teeny tiny burger that comes out. But that teeny tiny burger is not only super photogenic with its little lettuce leaf and two tomato slices, it's shoooo yummy! The burger meat is flavorful, tender, and without any burnt or super hard parts. And the cheeeeeeese, it still stays melty even if you don't inhale your burger right away. But my favorite part is the bun! It's like it was partially steamed or something and stays really soft and squishy :) The burger expert who introduced me (thanks MT!) said something about it being like potato bread or challah, but I was too busy squishing the burger into my face. If you're ordering nothing but a burger, get 2 or your tummy will be sad. Or you can supplement with some other stuff: The crinkle cut fries are cute and nostalgic, although they are more on the soft side and not for crunchy fry fans. They would also benefit from a sprinkling of salt or a swim in the ketchup. Pass the chicken nuggets... they taste like nothing to be harsh, but hooray for sauce :P Their BBQ sauce is eXtra tangy with a capital X. The Galleria location is well-lit and clean with plenty of tables. Will definitely be back when I'm craving those mighty but tiny burgers!

Yelp
Even though there are plenty great burger joints to choose from in houston. Shake shack is good if you haven't had it in a while. Mushroom burger 5/5 Smoke Shack Burger 5/5 Fries 4/5

Calvin D.

Yelp
Shake shack is a great burger place to go to! It's quick, easy and affordable. I forgot to mention that the burger is pretty juicy! Fries are crispy and yummy. Sometimes service would give you an attitude at this location but the food still tastes good. I'd only give it a 3/5 based on service as well. The food would be a solid 4/5 for the price. Definitely stopping by shake shack again when I'm in the area!

Yelp
Late post: dined in on 12/27 after a long day of shopping with my sisters. When we walked in, there was no line, and the restaurant was nearly empty. So, I'm wondering to myself, why we received an overcooked, burnt hotdog and the staff clearly didn't care to ask or provide condiments, like ketchup, napkins, and utensils. I believe it is up to the staff to ask and make sure we have everything we need, but instead, I found myself getting up from the booth at least 3-4x to go and ask for things we were missing. It was inconvenient and took away from the time we could spend just enjoying each other's company. I also had to return to the ordering station and ask them to remake the hot dog for us, but the staff did not seem to care that they decided to serve it and send it out. They did not apologize, nor did they seem to be concerned with a burnt hotdog. Pretty careless, and poorly trained in my opinion. Pretty disappointed at the inconsistency at this SS. I see why now this place only has three and a half stars. I recommend some retraining and some restructuring of management at this location.

Yelp
This place owes me money. I don't know how they keep getting my review taken down but they ignored me for a year. They screened my phone and wouldn't answer for weeks after they refused to bring my order to me curbside when it first occurred and are literally the worst customer service I have experienced. Trust me give your business to Buffburger, I will not remove my rating. They should put this much effort in their customer service to begin with. Until I get reimbursed which according to them isn't possible anymore this review stands. I will find the previous review and repost the entire situation.

Renaudo R.

Yelp
Wasn't clean, I'm guessing due to it being so busy. The food is mid, like expected. It's not a lot of food for the money. But the shakes is the only thing that's saving it from a one star.
google avatar

Yelp
I have never tried Shake Shack and decided to try it while on business in Houston. I explored the mall and finally found Shake Shack (it's a big mall). Order a shake shack cheeseburger and fries. Fries are crinkle cut and just the right amount of crispy. Burger and secret Shake sauce are good, but I'll make sure to ask for mine too be well done in the future. Overall, pretty good.

Yelp
Decided to swing by for a quick bite on a Saturday afternoon. Surprisingly the queue was quite short. Note the restaurant is across from Yauatcha and next to Cheesecake Factory. There was a casara milkshake which is the husk of the coffee bean. It was sweet, thick and can't really tell if it's more vanilla or more chocolate. There're some chocolate sprinkles but you can't really taste them. Fries were crispy and burger was good. Glad I tried them again as my last experience in Montrose was substandard.

Yelp
Shake Shack is my favorite burger place, but the burger is not tasty as before. It is in The Galleria Houston

Kenny G.

Yelp
Cmon Shake Shack...undercooked Shackburger. I don't understand how anyone can even mess it up the patties are so thin...

Yelp
The people working are absolutely incompetent and rude. They seem like they are miserable working here and have a lot to say outloud about the customers eating.Suggest finding people who actually want to work.

Yelp
Every time I come here everything is excellent. The food is fresh and delicious, the customer service is wonderful and the place is clean. I love my Shack!

Yelp
W FOOD. W SERVICE. Even though they're busy, they're quick with it. I'm sad they forgot my honey mustard in my chicken bites.
google avatar

Yelp
Always good food; consistency is key! Have never had a bad experience with employees or the food quality here. Everything is just always hot and fresh, and made how it's supposed to be! The fries are never soggy, food comes out super fast, and the shakes are good. Burgers, although small, are always juicy and flavorful! Honestly, some of the other shacks in the Houston area could learn a thing or two from this location.

Yelp
I'm so in love with ya Shake Shack! The shack stack is E V E R Y T H I N G. Seriously gave me life. That fried mushroom with stuffed cheese.. got me drooling just thinking about it. Also I'm a lover of crinkle cut fries. Definitely would come back, over and over again!
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
I can't get enough of Shake Shack. Whether I'm in Los Angeles, New York, Vegas or Houston, I have not yet gotten tired of it yet. The Shack Stack is my favorite with all it's oozy cheese glory. Gotta try it once in your life or at least for a video for the gram.

Yelp
After trying it Shake Shack is my favorite burger. Its looks are somewhat deceiving, but after the first bite, you understand why so many people like it. It just tastes awesome! Located inside the Galleria mall, Shake Shack is specious, and clean. For being nationwide burger chain, it does have local Texas elements on the menu and in decorations! The surprise factor are dog biscuits! According to my dogs, they are an absolute hit, and they are anxious to get more snu day now!

Yelp
This is my favorite burger spot but those gluten free breads are not it Ruined my favorite burger Buyers beware.

Yelp
Great Burger, Great Customer Service, Horrible Chicken Sandwich. Shake Shack needs to stick to what got them famous. They have no business being in the Chicken Sandwich industry. That's reserved for Vets like Chic-Fil-A and Popeyes. The Burger is one of the best I've had. I ordered the double burger, bacon and cheese fries, chicken sandwich and Christmas Cookie shake. As you can tell 3 of the 4 things were awesome. The Burger had that off the grill crisp that was noticeable but not too much, with American Cheese. The fries I admit were a little over kill but I ate them. The shake was delicious and tasted exactly as described Christmas Cookie. The Cashier suggested I get Plum next time. I'll definitely take her up on that. Now the chicken sandwich........there's nothing to say. Think Old School Chilis Chicken Batter with a bun, lettuce, mayo. Uninspiring to the taste. The only thing that stopped this from getting a fourth star.
google avatar

Yelp
This was not a bad burger! And, I have to admit I am always skeptical of the chains! Now don't get me wrong, this IS an expensive burger! Expect to easily spend $40 on two people. Which, is pricey for a burger! Especially when you could go to any of my top 5 burger joints in Houston, and get a better burger for the same price. See my Best Burger Search for my top picks! The FOOD: - Shack Stack: This was pretty unique and I have to say, quite yummy as well. The meat was a little thin for my liking, but had great flavor. The patty was complimented by a big chunk of breaded and fried Mushroom, all between a soft and sweet bun. It was well put together, and you don't get the "ingredient slide-out" like some burgers can do. Everything stayed perfectly in tact through each bite. Rating: 4 - Fries: Ok, basically these are your typical Ore-Ida crinkle fries. Nothing special at all. Bland to boot. Come on guys. If you are going to charge and arm and a leg for your food, at least serve up some good tasting and/or unique fries! Rating: 1 - Shake (Strawberry): Ok, this was delicious. Thick and creamy, but also easy to slurp through a straw! Expensive, but good. Rating: 4 Ok, so the food was good in some respects and not so good in others. For the price point, I will probably not return, solely based on the fact that are so many other excellent burger joints in H Town, that not only serve excellent burgers, but also provide amazing fries options that you can't make at home. Additionally, if I am not wowed, I don't see the point in paying a butt load for food. Again, it was good, but did not wow me. Sorry Shake Shack. Follow me on my way to Foodietown! http://britneygfoodie.yelp.com

Yelp
So...I am not getting lower stars people are leaving for this place. Yes. It is in the Galleria. No it does not have a drive thru. Yes it has pretty damn good burgers for a "Fast Food" joint. Yes is serves BEER...$3 tall boy Lonestar's?!?!?!? What more could you want? OK so yes it is in the Galleria...which I would rather halve ophthalmic surgery with a chainsaw held by a bear...while on fire...than go to the Galleria but the smoking hot wife needed new clothes and some iPhone repair...so to the mall we went. And after hours...and hours...and hours...we became famished and the wife announces she wants a burger. OK. I am always in for that. We chose the Shack Stack...which is an interesting choice. It has a regular patty and a deep fried portabella (or portabello...both spellings are accepted...apparently...incorrectly in my opinion) mushroom on top...at first I was skeptical...now look at attached pic...then discard all doubts. This was interesting and damn good. Oowey, gooey, cheesy goodness with a regular patty and a 'shroom patty that complimented everything quite nicely. So...pick up...invert (as you should with any burger. It distributes the juices more evenly) and apply to the gob. Sip beer...wait crap...I forgot we are at the Galleria!!!! This make me happy. Beer. A side of crinkle fries are a must. Add in a strawberry milk shake (not QUITE as good as Mickey D's...but still pretty damn excellent) and you will have an all American Meal. Let us recap. Good Burgerage? Check. Strawberry shake? Check. BEER?!!?!? CHECK. Rock solid 4 stars? Check.

Yelp
We stopped by around 4pm and the establishment was rather crowded. The space is minimal and chic. Service was fast; our food was ready within 10 minutes. The food was decent: burgers were perfectly cooked and seasoned, fries were crispy, and the hotdog was tasty. However, I thought they were a little overpriced. We paid $55 for 3 burgers, 1 hotdog, 2 fries, and 2 small + 1 large drinks. Could have had a bigger meal for the same price at Pappa's Burger ‍
google avatar

Alexus N.

Yelp
I would have been satisfied with a Big Mac or Whopper because this place was a let down. The burger portions are small (perfect for me because I've been portioning my meals lately). What did it in for me was the bland flavors. I didn't taste any "Shake sauce" on my burger. I also ordered a salted caramel shake and it tasted like regular vanilla shake. The best part was probably the crinkle fries. Despite the disappointment in taste, the place is nicely designed with simplicity. The condiments station was stocked and bathrooms were clean. Sadly, I will not be returning here. I can't imagine paying for an overly priced bland burger. Nothing really special about it.

Yelp
The classic shack burger always hits the spot with their chocolate malt milkshake and CHEESE FRIES. If you're feeling extra fat- ask for a fried mushroom in your burger. It's amazing. I wish they would open more locations around the Houston area! This is my favorite burger spot in the Houston area. Honestly the best.
google avatar

Kacie D.

Yelp
I'm glad this chain is consistent no matter what city I'm in. Food: I ordered my usual Shake Stack and I have no real complaint besides the fact that my lettuce wasn't the absolute freshest. I order extra lettuce so this is a problem for me. I also noticed the scoop of frozen custard was a little smaller compared to my usual Shake Shack spot in Dallas - I was stuffed after my burger so the size difference didn't upset me, however, I felt like it should still be noted. Environment: This location took an upscale twist to the typical Shake Shack - totally loving it! Also, it would be difficult not to find a seat here. Service: Service fit the establishment. Nothing that stood out.

Yelp
After being open for a few months, I finally decided to brave myself and drove to the Galleria to finally try the restaurant that is Shake Shack. The one issue I have about going to a new restaurant in the Galleria is that I never know where they are located so I came to Yelp to see if anybody had actually mentioned its location when I saw that Mike M. had mentioned that the restaurant was located on the 2nd level. I went up to the 2nd level and for the life of me could not find this restaurant and it wasn't long until I realized that Mike M. had actually meant 1st level of the Galleria and not 2nd. So for those of you looking for this restaurant, it's located on the 1st level (street level) and not the 2nd level of the mall (The Galleria's levels are as follow: Rink level, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3), right by the Cheesecake Factory. There was only a couple of people in front of me in line. This was on a Monday night around 7:30 pm and so I didn't have to wait very long to place my order. I placed my order for the Lockhart Link Burger, some crinkle fries, and a small mango lemonade. The total for my order was $14.46 with tax - about average since I did order a drink. However, average pricing doesn't mean that you'll get an average burger. You'll see what I mean in a bit. I waited probably about 10 minutes before my order was ready. I went to pick up my order and the pick-up counter and the first thing I noticed was the size of the burger. It was looking pretty tiny to me. Not sure what the weigh of the patty was, but just looking at the burger and then looking at the container of fries next to it, that burger just seemed small. If it didn't have the piece of link in the buns, that burger would have been a sad burger. So even though the price was pretty average, the size was on the smaller side. I thought the burger was okay. It wasn't anything that would wow me. The sausage link was a nice touch but in my opinion, the link tasted so much better than the burger itself. The fries were really good because they were very crispy and wasn't too greasy to the touch. The mango lemonade was also really good. Pro tips: If you're dining in, always order the small drink because you get free refills. I didn't spend much time at the restaurant after I received my meal because it really didn't take me long to finish my meal. I got up, threw my crap into the trash bin and noticed that they had some sanitizing hand wipes by the trash (nice touch, Shake Shack) and left still feeling a bit hungry. Will I be back? Maybe, but I'll have to order a double.

Yelp
If I could give 3.5 then it will be the rating. I have been wanting to go to this place and it wasn't bad. I had tried BBQ chicken, shack burger and BBQ beef burger. As you can see in the pic, it's tiny and quite expensive for 6 or 7 dollar ish just for the burger itself. Foodwise-- I have to be honest that it was pretty good just it's so small will make you wonder if it's worth for the price. I was glad I didn't have to stand in lines to get my burger-It's a worldwide place now and good luck to this one in tx location

Yelp
I hadn't really listened to all the hype or followed the trend that is Shake Shack, but I knew it was new, and that it was something worth trying. We stopped by here after running low on other options and tried the burger and cheese fries. Seemed pretty standard to me. There wasn't any one thing that stood out in particular, except the price. For a quick, fast food style burger, this runs a bit high, and I left hungry. The crinkle cut fries are ok but nothing I couldn't get elsewhere. Maybe I need to try out their shakes next time. Location is convenient for shoppers, and the wait was not long. Their service was excellent though, and the staff was super friendly.

Yelp
Small burger syndrome. That's what Shake Shack has. If the Hamburglar brought one, ONLY one, ruck sack to steal burgers in, he could easily steal alllll the burgers at Shake Shack because they are relatively small compared to your other standout burger joints (Lankford, Sparkle's, Bubba's...). With that said, however, we all know that it's not the size that matters (the single shack burger makes my small hands look big)...but the quality. Sure, you get a pretty good tasting bun. Sure, you get exactly two tomatoes and two pickles on top of one piece of lettuce. Sure, you get some shack sauce slathered inside your berg. But... The real standout to me comes in the taste of the meat patty. Albeit small and thin, this thing is packed with juices and flavor. If nothing else, this is just a darn good tasting patty. Not dry, not bland, not over-seasoned. Would I normally want to pay $5.29 for a single patty burger? Probably not anytime soon, but I can't deny that it was a tasty burger. Note: if you download the Shake Shack app and create an account and order through your app before the end of February 2017, you can get a free single shack burger by typing in "shackappy" in the promo spot when checking out through the app.

Yelp
Simple yet tasty burgers. No gimmicky gigantic burgers here. Burgers here are fresh , slightly smaller than most burgers but they hit the spot. I ordered a double meat with bacon without shack sauce. The meat so so juicy. Every bite was a nice flavorful experience. Burgers dont have all stuff that other trendy burger spots put in their burgers but the beauty is in its simplicity. Good place for basic delicious burgers if you're willing to pay a lil more than other burger places. I would go back

Yelp
I went to this well known burger restaurant chain which opened its first location in Houston last year for lunch about a week ago on a weekday. It is located in the Galleria directly across from The Cheesecake Factory on the 1st level (above the skating rink). Arriving at about noon, I felt fortunate that the line was only about a one minute wait to place my order at the counter. I ordered the regular ShackBurger with no cheese, french fries and a drink. With tax it was $10.53. After getting my drink at the self serve drink area, I grabbed a high table and my food was ready within 5 minutes. I thought the burger was smaller than I expected with a 1/4? lb. patty on a very fresh bun. Even though it was small, it was good and I enjoyed it (3.5). The fries were crinkle cut and hot and very uniform in appearance. They were good too (3). I compare this restaurant to Hopdoddy which I have also visited. Both burgers were on the small size but were quality. Both fries were similar too. However, I definitely prefer Shake Shack. First, their food is less expensive. Second, being a counter service restaurant there is no waiter to tip. At Hopdoddy, they have a 'semi' table service operation where the waiter really does nothing for you but is there holding his hand out for a gratuity at the end of the meal. The price and taste of this meal rates an overall score of 3 to me. I would be happy to return but only if I am in The Galleria. I would not come here just to eat and go through the hassle of traffic, parking and then walking through the mall to get there.

Yelp
NOT in the food court by the ice rink, but rather the floor above it next to The Cheesecake Factory. If you want really detailed directions, please skip to the last paragraph of this review and look at the two photos I uploaded. Normally I would go to Shake Shack in New York and endure really long lines. Not quite the case here- the line was about 10 people, but the waiting time was still a little long. I like that the burgers here aren't overly salty like what I'm used to from NYC, and that the staff are super friendly. Shack sauce isn't my cup of tea since it's essentially mayo, mustard, and paprika, but most people seem to like it. One minus is that the soda fountain is behind the register, so you have to ask an employee to refill your drink. Also, they give you a new cup each time for "sanitary purposes" which I found to be a huge waste of resources. Ok, so I had a frustrating time finding Shake Shack and eventually had to ask a custodian where it was located. It's on the Ground Floor- above the ice rink that's on the underground floor. If you face West and see the ice rink over the balcony, there should be a corridor heading North, which is where Shake Shack is located. It's also the same corridor where Cheesecake Factory is located. From the outside, if you're standing on Westheimer looking at the mall, Shake Shack is between the Westin (to its East) and the Galleria Office 2 (to its West). Hopefully the two pictures I uploaded help out since a building obstructs the view of Shake Shack from Westheimer.

Yelp
New spot for lunch! Next time, I'll order two burgers because of how delicious they are. Quick turnaround, not too crowded and away from the food court.

Yelp
Love shake shack! We both agree that they have the best hamburger and shakes but for some reason this location isn't the best. Go to the Kirby location. Also, the computer ordering system drives me nuts and I've heard others complain about this.

Yelp
The Shake Shack in Rice Village is awesome! The Shake Shack in the Galleria needs to learn from them. They gave the smallest piece of lettuce today with my ShackBurger. I had to go ask for more. I guess whoever was cutting lettuce today likes to cut it small or they were told to cut it small to be stingy and only want it to look like there's lettuce for photos prior to eating. Took 4 small pieces of lettuce to equal one normal size. Their fries weren't crispy and not salted enough. Very disappointed in today's visit. Still giving them 3 stars because I truly enjoy Shake Shack and I love their products.

Yelp
This is one of my fave go-to "fast food" burger joints from NYC and I was thrilled to hear they opened a location here in Houston! I waited for the hype and long lines to die down before checking out this place cause the food here is definitely not worth waiting an hour in line for. My wait on a weekday for a late lunch was about 10 minutes. My usual go-to here is the Shack Stack which includes a single patty cheeseburger topped with a fried portobello mushroom that's stuffed with warm gooey, delicious cheese. Totally unhealthy but definitely worth the 795 calories. Eat this with a side of crinkle cut fries and you'll be satisfied. As other reviewers have mentioned, the beef patty is definitely on the smaller side so if you're looking for something more substantial I suggest going to a gourmet burger place or an actual restaurant instead.

Yelp
Oh dear, I can't help but roll my eyes at the previous reviews. You can't compare Hopdoddy to Shake Shack. I can go on and make a Venn diagram on the differences, but that's too much work lol. Shake Shack barely opened so you can expect some kinks to be worked out. Chilllll people. My bf and I ordered: Chick'n Shack, Lockhart burger, bacon cheddar fries, regular fries, and a strawberry shake for $25. We left stuffed with satisfied tummies and wallets. P.S. I added up my order and it's actually more than $25 but no complaints here. Fried chicken in the Chick'n Shack was a tad salty, but together with the lettuce, pickles, and mayo mmm mmm! Move out the way, Chick fil A! Crinkle fries are hot and crispay. Addition of bacon and cheddar cheese is even better. If you don't love fries, cheese, or bacon, then there's a juice detox place downstairs that will love your business. The only drawback is the shakes & concretes aren't as creamy as I like and it starts to get a little runny by the time you get to it. Nevertheless, I'd definitely wait in line again for 30mins+ to get my Shake Shack fix!

Yelp
Heard lots of good things about Shake Shack and I knew right away I must try. Came to the Galleria and was so excited to find out that they are here. How this place works is you first line up and on the wall there is the menu. Once you figured out what you want than you order it. They give you one of those big notification thingy. So when your food is ready that notification thingy will blink and you walk up to pick up your food. So I ordered smoke shack by itself. It was good. But only issue was that the bun was very oily. First bite just told me how unhealthy this burger can be. Yes Yes, I know burgers are not healthy. One thing super good here is their service. They are so welcoming. When they serve the food they know your name. Guess from the credit card. There are plenty of tables inside the restaurant. Only issue is parking. Parking at times can be crazy here. This place can be quite busy depending what time you show up.

Yelp
I actually don't like going to Shake Shack. It's too expensive for my taste and overhyped by social media (or perhaps too trendy for me to keep up with hehe). It's also too crowded during the weekends, usually by people who take lots of burger selfies to invoke burger envy to their friends. None-the-less, their tiny burgers are pretty darn good. If you can justify paying a premium for a tiny burger that's gone in just three big bites (poof!), this is your kind of place. The secret recipe to their success is consistency. Have you ever noticed that a Shake Shack burger always look the same? For example, your next Single Shack Burger will contain one large green lettuce leaf protruding out the burger and exactly two slices of tomatoes directly underneath. The combination never changes and there will never be more than one lettuce leaf or two tomatoes visible. Your burger will look and taste the exact same each time - it's an aspect in a business model that I can appreciate. With the good looks and taste comes a price though. Each Single Shake Shack burger costs $5.29 (before tax). The price might not seem like much, but compared to other local mom & pop burger joints (Stanton, Lankford, Bubba, Sparkle, etc.) the value is short changed because the size is substantially smaller per cost. Overall, it all depends on what you like in burger. Shake Shack does it right, but it'll cost you if you come hungry and want to be full. If you ever have a chance to go while you are in Austin (TX), try Mighty Fine Burgers. Excellent simple burgers, also hormone free beef that's grass fed, and good value.
