I love this place. Honestly, it’s a bit more expensive than some competitors, but you get quality and flavor in every single bite. The ordering system is high-tech, the place is very clean, and the atmosphere is great. They serve you quickly, even though it’s always busy.

Went there twice in a row 😂. First night was good as usual . Last night now raw onions weren’t available . The front counter offered me crispy onions I said ok . Manager said no raw or crispy onions. I actually ordered a bbq burger that came with crispy onions.

Google
Updated to three stars since I reached out to corporate and received a refund (I ordered on the app). I ordered a veggie burger and fries and didn’t realize I received a cheeseburger until I got home. I called the store and they offered to email me a gift card but I never received anything or heard back. Waste of money and time. Check your takeout orders.

Overall I would recommend Shake Shack to anyone. I got the Smoke Shack with Bacon Cheese Fries. Very good burger, I really like the potato bun. I really like the lemonade and the seasonal lemonades as well, and they give free refills which is nice.

Google
Sign on the window that says no smoking. This location allowed it. We were sitting outside with 3 small children and a table of 3 people lights up cigarettes right next to us. I asked about smoking outside and they said it was allowed. Pretty hard to enjoy food with the smell of cigarettes. Pretty disgusting and bad for other people who don't smoke. Disappointing that we had to leave to eat our food. Don't recommend if you don't want your food to taste like cigarettes. Two other tables left at the same time because of this.

Google
Solid smash burger, for time and it was very satisfying. Not the best burger I have ever tasted, but a very good one. I gave four stars for service because you don’t really interact with anyone in the atmosphere is quiet and not busy. I would definitely eat here again as the food cost in SD and this spot was reasonably priced. Shakes are tasty also.

Google
Shake shack has some of the best bacon cheese fries! The staff here is so awesome! I love that you order from the kiosk and save time aswell! The Shakes are super good too just a little overpriced for the size.. I come her pretty often and food is always fast and fresh!

Google
yes, I’m always gonna give shake shack an excellent five star review because the food is awesome it’s great and whenever I have an opportunity to eat shake shack, I will go all in especially that I’m more of a vegetarian and I did order the they’re awesome veggie shack. This is a mission valley and it’s a very nice beautiful scenic area. I wish you could see the view from my perspective.

Yelp
Came here for a late night burger. It's conveniently located in the same plaza as Gravity Heights and Spill the Beans. There's plenty of seating areas, they're pretty quick with the service, and they're open late - so it was exactly what we needed. I got their shack burger and cheese fries, which were both great and hit the spot. They also have a spicy cheese fries for a limited time, so I'd recommend trying that before it goes away. Good to note that they do have vegan options, as my friend is vegan and she was able to customize their vegetarian burger to accommodate her.

Yelp
First time ever dining at a Shake Shack. Location was a bit hard to find parking. We end up parking on the street. We were greeted by many employees. The gentleman that took our order was very patient because we weren't sure what we want to eat since it's our first time dining here. We came here because someone gave me a $50 gift card for Shake shack and I was craving for a burger. The burger was decent, but for the price we paid was not worth it. It was almost $10 for a single patty burger by itself. We order two shack smoke and one regular burger, all single patty. We ordered two fries to share, a chocolate shake, a banana pudding shake, and a Coke zero. The total was $57.65. The food was OK so I gave it a three stars. But what made up for the food prices and quality was the employee attentiveness and hospitality made up for it. Totally 5 stars for the employees, 3 stars for the food and for the price. To us, it's like a fast food joint in quality. There were 3 of us dining here. It was 3 of us first time at ANY Shake Shack. It will most likely be our last. So it's an average for this review.

Yelp
It's was pretty good. We've been to other locations and this was was pretty good overall. The one big negative is my husband's buger was really Salty. Pros: * Good burgers: we recommend making any burgers a double * Nice Staff * Easy checkout with the kiosk * Very clean inside and we were impressed considering how busy it was Cons: * One of the burgers was extremely salty. Extra: * Limited parking * They show the calories for everything on the Kiosk if that is important to you * There is outdoor seating.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite burger joint!! I always come back here no matter where I go. They hands down have the best smash burgers. It's always fresh and good! The place is big and plenty of seatings. I do want to say parking is asss but it is what it is. The service is always fast and friendly! Derek was so sweet, I had ordered a tea and didn't know it wasn't sweetened and he happily changed it out to something else. Always a pleasure coming here! Thanks for the amazing burgers!

Yelp
Food: I got the stack shack or something like that. The burger was huge with the fried mushroom with good cheesy goodness inside. Shake: the banana shake was so good. I wasn't hesitant at first. But glad they recommended it to me. Service: the staff were welcoming and very helpful since this was my first time ever eating shake shack. So glad I visited today. I'm stuffed and happy.

Yelp
About once a quarter I crave a shake shack cheese burger. It's a step above fast-food, casual, and this location's dining room has lots of seating. Shake Shack Mission Valley is located in a mixed-use commercial zone, and parking in the lot can be tricky during busy times. Street parking is available. The service is pretty straight forward - order at the register or at the iPad kiosk - and someone will bring out your food when it's ready. Overall good experience when I'm craving a cheeseburger and fries.

Yelp
Ordered at kiosk. Very easy to use. Got the BBQ Smoked Chicken, Bacon Cheddar Cheese Fries, Creamsicle Float. Delisioso!

Yelp
This review is for Michelle. She is a five star manager!! I make the drive out to this location specifically because I know she operates this store with first class hospitality and a consistent kitchen. I've never had a bad experience here

Yelp
So great that there is now a shake shack in mission valley! It is in a rather hidden location that basically shares a parking lot with an apartment building but also right across the street from Trader Joe's. As you walk up to the front door, there is a nice outdoor patio seating area and a "dog parking" spot! As you walk in, the interior seating area is rather large and you have the option to order at the counter or on an iPad. I chose to order on the iPad and our food was delivered to our table within 5 minutes. One thing I wasn't expecting was the prices. But to be fair, it has been a while since I've visited a shake shack. I ended up going with the good old shake shack burger and fries and man was it tasty!

Yelp
I should have known the Dubai Shake was gonna be fast-food chain quality. At $10, it was a huuge letdown. Tastes like a soft serve sugar cone w vanilla. Where's the pistachio flavor? However the place itself was clean, bright. And the staff was nice.

Yelp
Plenty of parking at this location and tables and seating. They have outdoor seating as well as lots of indoor seating as well. They have a tv but it's just misc playing, nothing special or worthy of watching. The workers are kind and patient. They also have 2 kiosks that you can order from if you don't want to talk to anyone. But be wary because those things seemed to be acting up while we were there. I believe they were playing some KPop music which was nice to listen to. We ordered: 2 chickn shacks, 1 avocado bacon chickn shack, 1 cheesy bacon fries, 1 cheese fries. The things I'm disappointed about is that the lettuce was really LIMP and soggy when we arrived home. And the sandwich wasn't even in an enclosed bag so I'm not sure how it could have steamed itself up. There was no shredded lettuce like other locations. And I wish they had containers of their buttermilk herb mayo because I would devour that with the fries. Avocado was a bit scarce and I think that sucked because we paid ~+1 extra for it. The chicken was really nicely breaded with a great crunch to it. And the chicken was thick and juicy. I enjoyed it. The fries were soggy, but lucky me-- I like soggy fries. The bacon was salty but thin and crispy. I like the cheese sauce it's lovely, but it is also a bit salty. Therefore overtime, eating this could be tooo much. This came out to be about $44 dollars. On the pricy side, but I do really enjoy the sandwiches. Recommend this spot for sit in dining!

Yelp
First time here and the service was good, prices were average and my Shake Burger and truffle fries were pretty tasty!

Yelp
The shroom burger with the cheese is my favorite! The staff at this location are extremely friendly, not just the ones who helped me but even observing them help others made it a warm and welcoming environment. Parking is tough because people in the nearby apartments are parking there, but overall a great location.

Yelp
The food is good I recommend the dubai shake or strawberry lemonade it's amazing the burgers are alright also. The service is good the food comes out pretty fast. Overall it's a good burger place and is unique.

Yelp
Food is very good Service is great But the burgers are small & drinks have small portions to be overpriced.

Yelp
Shake Shack in Mission Valley has excellent customer service. My granddaughter and I were able to accurately complete our order using the self-service checkout screen terminal. We easily found seating because we were dine-in customers. An associate assisted us to get our drinks. He brought us our food and brought us napkins. He periodically checked to see if we wanted refills. The food satisfied my Shake Shack cravings. Love the french fries too. Thank you

Yelp
Outstanding! Finding Shake Shack was interesting. Through GPS I expected to find it in the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf /Trader Joe's retail center. To my surprise, Shake Shake is one block west and left side corner, 675 Camino de la Reina. The free parking lot is shared with a housing development behind Shake Shack. I found just a couple of spots @ 6:40 p.m. on a weekday. Shake Shack has a menu relative in size to other fast food chains-burgers, hot dogs, chicken, fries, shakes and frozen custard. My grilled dog was tasty! Hot in the center, crispy edges, a tasty cheese sauce and soft bun. I added a side of fries which were crispy and lightly salted. I would buy this combination again and add a frozen custard. The ordering went quickly. Fair prices. Smiling employees. Worth trying and returning!

Yelp
Shake Shack never disappoints. The smash burgers are consistently delicious--juicy, flavorful, and made just right every time. The service is always friendly and efficient, which makes the whole experience even better. It's my go-to spot for a quick quality burger. Reliable, tasty, and satisfying every visit!

Yelp
Lunch date with my girlfriends and chose this spot since the girls were craving some burgers. Very delicious. Service was fast and I didn't expect the employees to walk my order to me!

Yelp
Shake Shack (SS) has been on my list to try for many years, and today was my first time ever trying them out. With In-N-Out (INO) all around SD, among other burger joints, SS has a lot of competition. My first impression on entering was that this joint is spacious, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. The menu is large and there are a ton of options. A sign pointed to the self-serve kiosks, and since no one was at the register, it appeared to be the only option to order. To be fair, I did see a customer walk up to the counter and someone came from the back to take her order. If I knew that was an option, I would have taken that route. Whenever I try a new place, I like to ask about what's popular. Since I didn't know, I ended up just ordering what I thought might be good. I ended up ordering a Single Stack Shack Cheeseburger, crinkle cut fries (minus melted cheese), and a chocolate shake. The fries with cheese sounded good, but the picture on the self-serve kiosk made it look unappetizing, so I passed. I grabbed my table tent number and found a table. After about 10 minutes, my food came out. Although everything looked pretty good, the burger ended up being just okay. Not bad, but not as good as I expected. The fries were good, probably the highlight of the meal. They were nice and crispy, perfectly salted/seasoned. The chocolate shake was also just okay. The shake's texture was good, it was thick, there was just something off about the taste. I can't rate the customer service because I used the self-serve kiosk. My service score will be based off of the self-serve kiosk. It was user friendly, easy to navigate and explore. Check out and payment was easy. Parking here is a bit difficult. There were no spaces in the lot, but I found parking on the street. I found this place to be just okay overall. Sorry, the burger and shake just aren't on par with INO. When you eat an INO cheeseburger, you find yourself wanting to take another bite. I didn't get that feeling with the SS cheeseburger. People that love INO and try this place will know what I mean. It wouldn't be my first choice for burgers. I think I'd only come back if someone in my group wanted to come here. If I did return solo, I would probably try a chicken or hot dog option. 3 / 5: Food 4 / 5: Service 4 / 5: Cleanliness 3.6 / 5: Overall

Yelp
Walked in, and received a nice warm welcome greeting from the staff. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Football on the TV. Easy to read menu. They also serve beer! Which is pretty cool if that's sort of your thing, burgers and beer. The food comes out really fresh and hot, which is always a plus. I believe they also bring out different seasonal or promotional burgers and milkshakes throughout the year, so keep an eye out for that. The cheesy bacon fries are killer! The parking situation isn't the best, I'm not really sure how to describe it except it sort of shares parking with a condo complex and certain spots are marked for shake shack. The location is right off the freeway in mission Valley.

Yelp
You walk in and order at kiosks parking is a bit weird end hard to find. I think the burgers are good a little but smaller then I thought but overall tasty I ordered the bacon avocado and a bunch of other burgers... a good amountof avocado in the burger though and the cgeesebacon fries are yummy

Yelp
The famous franchise at the Mission Valley. Quite busy at dinner time. There are some special cute decorations and two TVs showing the sports games. The dining space is bright and with much seats. The special design of the wooden benches adds to the descent vibe here. The White truffle Burger/Fries are the special ones while the classic shake burger. They have some special drinks, could make the fifty-fifty with the tea and the selection of juice. At the meanwhile, some beer options as well as the Coca-Cola soft drinks are available and the free-refill is provided here. The use kiosk or app order, which always provide some special deal like Burgers BOGO with the provided code. Have a try if happen to be at nearby.

Yelp
Food was good, only wanted lettuce and cheese on my burger and got one tiny piece of lettuce. Who thought that was gonna be enough? Like please

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick lunch on our way out of town. The burgers where tasty, I ordered the CAROLINA BBQ BURGER lettuce wrapped which was very yummy and my husband ordered the bacon avocado burger which was also delicious. The fries were soggy but my husband ate them anyways it was a decent lunch and the service was excellent.

Yelp
I've had shake shack before at UTC location but the MV location was even better. Service was good, food was prepared perfectly. Even had some Rosé for fun! Give this place a try it won't disappoint.

Yelp
If I'm here in the area surrounded by weird web of roads and freeway crossroads, I know the directions to shack shake. Looks like a direction puzzle to keep solving to avoid memory loss. Parking is a tough call. Good luck. Usually I never have hard time. Enjoy while your visit to the area lasts!

Yelp
My coworkers and I ordered lunch here this week, the girls enjoyed their burgers & fries! I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with bacon. My very small grilled cheese sandwich was unfortunately burned on both sides- I mean completely black on both sides of the sandwich :( The sandwich was so small I thought I ordered off of a children's menu. I would love to try this place again, I just hope it's not burnt next time and I will double the order.
google avatar

Carissa B.

Yelp
How do you even serve this? Food was DISGUSTING, expensive and not even close to being worth it. I couldn't beleive how expensive this burger was. Just as expensive as five guys and not even close to a good quality. Pictures speak for themselves.
google avatar

Krishen W.

Yelp
Came for dinner on a Friday night! It's located a little weird, behind a huge apartment building. The parking lot is tiny and packed, so keep that in mind when coming. I got the roadside doubke with fries and the lemonade. The burgers here are good! It was cooked well and the fries were okay. I'm not a fan of crinkle cut but they weren't bad. The lemonade was really good, it's the one thing I definitely recommend getting! It wasn't too sweet or too tangy - a good balance. I really like the outdoor seating, especially in the summer months is really cozy and a nice place to eat. The service was fairly fast for being a bustling Friday night.
google avatar

Sarah Jo P.

Yelp
Personally, I think In & Out is way better. I really wanted to like this place but the burgers lacked flavor and the fries tasted like burnt oil. The shakes were tasty. The decor and customer service is nice. For the expensive price, I was expecting alot more.
google avatar

Aaron S.

Yelp
This review pretty much covers every shake shack in San Diego County. THE BURGERS ARE AMAZING! I'm not sure what took me so long to eat here. Maybe I was thinking this is just another burger spot like Burger Lounge, 5 guys, Hodads (sorry, dont yell at me) In and Out (sorry fans) etc... After trying this place a few months ago in La Costa and now Mission Valley, I am sold. Best burgers for the price. The buns are soft, beef is flavorful, grilled just right, easy menu, no frills and nothing bad here. Check it out.
google avatar

Natasha Y.

Yelp
Still one of the better shake shacks around, I think they have only messed up a hand full of times, seems like a lot but I've been to a few where they mess up every single time. The burgers are flavorful and cooked well, the pickles are amazing and the fries are always perfect

Yelp
My first visit here and I was pleased. I did Yelp for burger in my area and Shake Shack came up first. It's an easy to find location in the bottom of an apartment complex in Mission Valley. There's not a designated parking lot but there's a lot of street parking nearby. The restaurant itself was very busy. We were helped quickly at the counter and given a number to take to our table. We were especially happy that the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors game was on the multiple TVs, we had no problem finding a spot to watch it. The gentleman that ran, our food was so quick, helpful and courteous. I asked him about the sauces that someone else was using at another table, and he's very quickly brought me some of each of them. My fiancé ask for the ketchup was and apparently there's a station, and he even offered to go get them for him. Not what we were expecting at a fast food joint. I got the new truffle burger that was being advertised. It was OK, but definitely looked nothing like the photo. The bread was warm and soft. The burger seems to be grilled in a Smashburger like fashion, but the meat wasn't quite as crispy as they get it. I really liked the sauce and the fried onions that topped the burger. We also each ordered french fries. It was kind of strange, one order was piping, hot and crispy and the other order was quite cool. A little weird, but we are both of them anyway. All in all, we were pleased. We got our burger fix really fast and really reasonably priced. They also have a beer and wine section although we skipped that last night.

Yelp
My first Shake Shack Cheese burger was in 2008 at the location next to American Museum of Natural History in NYC. I distinctly remember because I walked for three to four hours in the museum, my appetite was in full gear. For this NYC chain to make out to SD I was excited because I was thoroughly impressed with Shake Shack in NYC. Some of the Shake Shack's in SD are a hit or miss, I must confess this location is a home run! Service: 5/5 - I ordered through the app, easy and text updates Quality: 5/5 Flavor: 5/5 - That was a tasty burger! Return here for more: 5/5 Location: Easy to find, the parking can be tight but it next to an apartment or condo structure As the text message indicated my order was ready, once I reach the counter the helpful staff member handed me my order by my first and last name, reviewed my order and asked if we needed any sauces. Service and logistics were 5-star. My son and I ordered the cheese burger, it was cooked well done but not overcooked with what I wanted. Nice fresh and soft bun. As Jules in the movie Pulp Fiction says, "That is a Tasty Burger!" Using the Shake Shack app was easy and secure, I recommend the app if you are busy. The inside had enough real estate for groups with some outside seating to catch some vitamin D on a sunny SoCal day. Overall, I was impressed with the flavor and freshness of the burger and crispy fries. The burger runs on the smaller size so if you are hungry I recommend ordering two of these tasty burgers because they came from flavor town at this location. The burgers in NYC ran small also but two will hit the spot for lunch or dinner. I highly recommend this location and I had a great experience the food is Not vapid of any flavor your taste buds will thank you!

Yelp
sad that i wolfed down my food before taking pics but we got the truffle fries, the truffle burger and i augmented the chicken sandwich with cherry peppers. all were amazing and they included a little plastic ramekin with truffle sauce. my goodness it was all very delicious!
google avatar

Danielle S.

Yelp
For a burger joint, Shake Shack is not a bad choice and is right on par with similar chains - the potato bun however is an absolute game changer We tried the "spicy" fries and were very disappointed - it tasted like they were just doused with chili powder and provided heat with no added flavor benefit. There is a parking lot available, when busy it's a little chaotic, but not the worst! We got our food to go, but the restaurant seemed like a fine place to dine in :) We will definitely be back, but would not recommend the spicy fries.
google avatar

Mikey H.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been to the Shack. I had to pick up dinner so I figured, why not since the partner in crime had a rough day. Just before the dinner hour, there's a number of spots which is good to know. The staff is friendly but my order was wrong...well, sort of wrong. I ordered two burgers with bacon, loaded fries, plain fries and two shakes. Well I didn't get the plain fries but another burger instead. It even said it on the receipt. I can't remember if she repeated it back. Everything was delicious...and we just split the extra burger...LOL!

Yelp
This location is in a good area with parking available. Menu is easy to read and everything is easily located inside as well! The cashier (Towady) was absolutely wonderful and was able to answer all my questions as well as clean up any confusion about the menu The double smoke shack was delicious and I definitely recommend getting your fries well done!!
google avatar

Sheeva T.

Yelp
Large clean dining room to enjoy my shake shack burger and fries in. Juiciest melty neat, delicious buttery bun and perfectly golden crinkle fries!!

Conor K.

Yelp
First time at shake shack and I have to say it was quite enjoyable. Stepped in with little expectations as it's a chain restaurant however it did not disappoint. No matter what I asked for the cashier made sure he got everything right. Very nice and open atmosphere, you could see the whole kitchen and man it smelled incredible. Took about 5 minutes to get our food which was great because it was packed at the time. First sip of the shake and boy was it delicious great blend of peach and vanilla. The burger took me by surprise and the shake sauce? GIVE ME THE RECIPE. The bbq fries had a little bit less seasoning than I would like but still very tasty nonetheless. Overall great time great food and great atmosphere absolutely would recommend!
google avatar

Andrea R.

Yelp
Finally seeing what all the hype is about! Good but not great. Ordering from kiosk is best option to customize order and skip the line. Very pricey for fast food since everything is a la carte.
google avatar

Devianna C.

Yelp
Large restaurants, lots of tables and chairs. Parking is in the back. Staff is cool and recommended getting 10 piece nuggets because they were rather small, and 6 would be more like a children's meal. So i appreciated that. The chicken nuggets were good, wish they had a spicy sauce to go with them. They do serve wine and beer so that's pretty cool.

Sean A.

Yelp
Never again Cheese fries were just regular fries. Cheese sauce was plain, nothing special. Shake burger. Never been so eager for a bout of illness to settle stomach. Wife laughed, but agreed no repeat. She had one of the chicken sandwiches.
google avatar

Yelp
The shroom burger is the best "fast food" burger out there. I usually get it as the shack stack so I get some burger in there too. The mushroom is STUFFED with three different types of cheese and it's a heavenly experience. I don't eat Shake Shack as often now that I live on the west coast, but it's still a special indulgence I enjoy from time to time. The fries at Shake Shack are garbage, no flavor. But that's in line with In and Out. The shakes are pretty great, it's hard to make a bad milkshake. It's always more expensive than I want it to be for the quality, we have so many amazing local spots, many are the same price or cheaper & better quality. But when I see there's a deal or when the specific craving for that shroom patty overpowers my desire to stay within budget- I'm there.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
I really like shake shack, but from the price/value standpoint, it's 4 Stars. The best burger is definitely the shack stack. Portobello mushroom and burger patty. It's mouthwatering delicious. I like their buns because on the bottom it's somewhat closed off, so it doesn't fall apart when you get towards the end of the burger. The fries are crinkle cut, which I like. It's not my favorite fries, but it's solid. The cheese makes it better. They also have truffle dipping sauce during its season. That sauce is bomb. There's always comparisons between this or in-n-out. I think the burger/fries are better at shake shack for sure, but it'll cost you more than double what you can get at in-n-out. With this massive inflation, you're better off getting in-n-out.
google avatar

Michele W.

Yelp
Pricy I guess. I dunno, patty maybe too thin? SOLID PARKING option which I did not expect.

Yelp
Our teens was so happy to find out that there was Shake Shack not too far from the hotel. Getting here wasn't hard to find, but finding a parking spot was a bit hard. It's in the same complex near condos or apartments so you're trying to find a spot to park. There are signs saying Shake Shack customers only. To our dismay, not all Shake Shacks serve the same items on their menus. Our family loves the truffle burgers and garlic fries, but alas none could be offered at this location. However, we did order the avocado bacon burger and double patty Shake Shack burgers. We still loved their burgers. We were able to find a table inside to enjoy eating our meal. For refills on drinks, you go up to the counter to ask for refills. The one close to our home, the servers goes around asking if you want refills and gets it for you. Different store location, different service. Overall, we did enjoy our meals.
