"Powerhouse Houston chef Chris Shepherd is teaming up with Shake Shack for a special one-day-only menu item that will benefit Shepherd’s nonprofit organization Southern Smoke Foundation. The Southern Smoke Chicken Sandwich includes a crispy, hand-breaded chicken breast topped with spicy bacon jam, pickled jalapeño mustard, cherry peppers and shredded lettuce, all served on a potato roll. The sandwich will be available Thursday, March 4 only, at the Montrose and Rice Village Shake Shack locations, while supplies last." - Brittanie Shey

"Beloved NYC burger chain Shake Shack officially opens its doors in Montrose this week. The fast food giant will debut at 1002 Westheimer Road in a 3,600-square-foot space that features a patio and mural art by Michael Rodriguez. The brand touts eco-friendly construction, and the tabletops at this location are made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes while chairs and booths are also constructed from sustainable materials. This is the brand’s fourth Houston outpost, joining locations in the Galleria area, Rice Village, and Minute Maid Park. In addition to its regular menu of antibiotic and hormone-free burgers, chicken sandwiches and hot dogs and crinkle cut fries, local purveyor Fluff Bake Bar will provide sweets for the frequently-rotating “Pie Oh My” concrete, made with vanilla custard and a slice of Fluff’s seasonal pie. The “Caramel Aficiona-dough” will be made with the bakery’s “Couch Potato” cookie dough, and a “24 Carrot Magic” concrete will mix vanilla custard, UB Preserv’s carrot cake, sweetened condensed milk, and Blacksmith coffee grounds. The menu will also feature the Lockhart link cheeseburger, a Texas-only option topped with griddled Kreuz Market jalapeno cheese sausage link, pickles, and ShackSauce. Local brews from Karbach Brewing Company, Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Back Pew Brewing, and Spoetzl Brewery plus Shake Shack’s exclusive Brooklyn Brewery ShackMeister Ale will be on tap. Wine lovers can enjoy the company’s own red and white varieties. Shake Shack officially opens on Thursday, December 20 and will operate Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m." - Alaena Hostetter

"Shake Shack is opening its third Houston location in Montrose, repurposing a former Burger King site at 1002 Westheimer Road. The burger chain is known for its upscale design, distinct from typical fast-food models, and will not feature a drive-thru." - Amy McCarthy

Tried the single Shake burger and hot dog. At first glance the burger seemed small for the price but the flavor profile was really good and the burger was nice, fresh and juicy. Better ingredients are always worth the price! Sadly the hot dog was overcooked, hard to eat and except for the bun, uneventful. Great service, clean, organized and a streamlined operation.

Stopped here for dinner the customer service was very nice and they had patience with us looking over the menu because it was our first time at a shake shack. The burger was great as well as the bacon fries. Would definitely be back for some more!

Shake Shack Montrose is a gem! The burgers are cooked to perfection, juicy, and packed with flavor. The staff is friendly and the service is quick, even during busy hours. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends. The fries are crispy and delicious, and don’t even get me started on their shakes—creamy and indulgent, just the way they should be. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a leisurely meal, Shake Shack Montrose never disappoints. Highly recommend!

We hadn't had Shake Shack for a while and wanted to check out this location. Got two shack burgers, regular fries, spicy ranch fries, chicken bites, and vanilla shake. Food was all good especially burgers and fries. Burgers were a bit smaller than some other gourmet burgers, though. Chicken was good but a little oily (maybe they could have shaken a little more oil off). Shake tasted great but was a little runny for my taste. Interior was nice and there was neat Halloween deco. Service was very good.

I loved this location, this experience, and consistently have a tasty and enjoyable time at Shake Shack. If you have never eaten here, I would highly recommend it. They use a potato bun on their burgers which makes the flavor enhanced and just dramatically yummy. They also have fantastically well-made shakes that will send your taste buds on an adventure that you have never been on. This place rivals other burger joints and scales of taste, no doubt. Would highly recommend to anyone who has never tried it, and I would bet that most people who have tried it will return – as I plan to do.

Shake shack.. FINALLY, I’ve heard of this legendary restaurant that has existed for quite some time now, and my food journey has finally brought me to its steps. Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had!! Not only is their food aesthetically pleasing, but it tastes just as great! Not many burger restaurants are as clean, and chic as this location is, Props to the owners & design team!

First, I must say something about the pretty landscaping. They did a lovely job around the perimeter of the building. Now to the part people care about, the food. Juicy burgers that tastes like the burgers your Uncle grills up for you (the one who seems to be able to do everything just right) when he visits. Juicy, flavourful and perfectly cooked. We ordered our fries well done and they were. A simple meal. Good experience.

I’m not really thrilled with this experience. I ordered my burger without cheese and the shake sauce on the side. The avocado, bacon burger came out with cheese & sauce on it. No big deal…I ask them to fix it. Over 20 minutes after my original order came through they bring out a cold burger with undercooked bacon as a replacement. This was almost a total waste of a cheat meal. The one saving grace was the fantastic dairy-free chocolate shake. It tasted so good, I was worried they screwed that up too 😅. Perhaps they were super busy with online orders & I’m just unaware….but it was 5pm on a Tuesday night, and it was almost empty inside when I got there. Bottom line…order things as they come on the menu or maybe just don’t come here.
