Shake Shack Oak Brook

This was my first time there, I guess you order everything separately. I got a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a Oreo shake. The Oreo shake was so good. I will definitely return for that. There was ample parking. It’s behind a big building so the GPS kinda got me lost. It was very clean inside the bathrooms were clean, you order yourself on the self-serve machines, unless you’re paying cash. There was someone always directing people which was great.

Great ambience, fast service, self order and pay. Shroom burger, cheese burger, chicken burger, shack burger, chicken bites. Unfortunately there are no healthy options. Almost everything is deep fried and there is nothing grilled and no salad options. The burgers come with next to no veggies.

Food was hot and properly seasoned -> great taste. Quality ingredients. Ordering in the app worked without issue and estimated pickup time was accurate. Oakbrook location was clean. Will be back for sure.

The food was served fresh and hot! The milkshakes are some of the best I've had in a long time! The employes keep the establishment very clean and are friendly and helpful! Everyone works as a team here and it shows! Will be back again and again!!

Wonderful experience first time in! I bought my little family of 4 in and it was great! We tried some Double Shackburgers and that flavor was on point! 10 out of 10 highly recommend! I wasn't really a fan of the truffle sauce, honest opinion, but the parmesan was amazing on the fries. The loaded fries are a hit though and my new go-to shake is that Cherry Blossom! I've never had anything like it, and definitely will be back to try the Thai Latte Shake! My new favorite shake place!

First time eating at this shake shack location. We got here at 8pm on a Monday and it was packed! Probably because there was a big group here. The double shack burger was delicious as usual. The edges of the burger this time it was nicely toasted and crunchy. I went to smash burger recently and this definitely is better. The cheese French fries were good. The cheese could’ve been more cheesier. The bathroom smelled really nice and it was clean!

I'm very glad that this Shake Shack location opened in Oak Brook. It's in a convenient spot, and the burgers, chicken, fries, and shakes are all excellent. The quality of service is good as well.

This place has really fallen hard over the years. If the mediocre food doesn't ruin it for you, the service definitely will. I wanted to give this location one last chance so I came on a Sunday and it was moderately busy. Ten minutes later our food came out and while the person I was with had a decently cooked juicy patty, mine was an overly charred and dry hockey puck. Definitely not the quality I would expect with their prices. I went to the pickup window and asked if that was how the burgers were now meant to be served. I was directed to a manager who responded as if she weren't sure. That was kind of an odd response from a manager. Either that's how they're supposed to look or not. But she said that she would get another one sent out to me so that was fine. I waited about ten more minutes when I saw a single burger handed off by the manager to a food runner and she pointed vaguely in my direction. I thought this was my burger, but the runner went right past me onto the patio, so I figured that burger was for another customer. I waited about fifteen more minutes before going back to the pickup window to ask the manager if my burger was ever going to come out. She got a little defensive with me saying that the burger had already been brought out to me. Again, not the response I should be getting from a manager. It turns out that single burger that ended up going to the patio was meant to be for me. The food runner brought it to the wrong table and whoever was sitting there figured it was complimentary burger day at Shake Shack. Why aren't there table numbers? You're telling me the system for running food is to just point ambiguously? I basically sat at a burger place for forty minutes with no burger. What was the manager's solution? Refund the money for the burger that never came to me. Yeah, thanks a lot. Just comp the whole meal, lady! You're the one who screwed up. To her credit, she did give me a burger to go, but I had to drive back to Chicago and stop at another place along the way. There was no way I would be able to eat it at a decent temperature, and I couldn't eat it while I drove, so I ended up just giving it to a homeless person. No quality control, no structure and no management skills. This place is just a dump.

The burger and cheese fries were absolutely delicious with great flavor and cooked perfectly! The place was clean, and the customer service was fast and efficient. My only gripe is that the app preselected a 10% tip, and I didn't realize it until after I checked out. Felt a bit sneaky, but overall, the food and experience were still great.

We ordered the chicken nuggets and the chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. They were out of the chicken avocado sandwich I would have liked to try that. We also got a burger which was excellent and the cheese on the fries wasn't nacho cheese fries. The fries themselves were crinkle fries we could get anywhere. Nothing impressive. The hot chocolate shake was on par. The order kiosks at the front were also helpful. You could take your time. This doesn't strike me as kid friendly place but you can bring kids here.

A good go to when you want a quality burger. Family favorite. It's fast and tasty. Was craving a chocolate milkshake and it was super rich. Cheesy fries always slaps. The chicken nuggies have a little peppery taste, so the little one didn't love them.

Overall great quality location. Solid service. It's sometimes hard getting the best seating but it's overall easy to find a seat. Their burgers are outstanding and I'm a huge fan of their cheese fries. Love that they have touch screens for ordering to make things more efficient.

Careful. Employees stole my gift card number and bought themselves lunch. Contacted customer service and they pretty much said oh well. There's plenty of options around that can be trusted. Pay cash or they will probably steal your credit card numbers too.

Wednesday @ 12:00. Walked up to a large menu on the wall. Burgers, fried chicken sandwiches/nuggets, fries, drinks and shakes. Ordered our food on a very easy to use kiosk, which allowed us to customize our orders. Sat down at a table, and food was delivered about 5-10 minutes later. We had 2 burgers, 1 fried chicken sandwich, an order of chicken nuggets, 1 fries, 1 cheese fries, and 1 bacon cheese fries, as well as 2 cookie and cream milk shakes. Everything was good...served hot. Sandwiches are small--a little more like sliders than sandwiches. The milk shakes were rich and thick...yummy! Very pricey. Almost $70 for four people. But let's face it, it's 2024....and everything is ridiculously priced! The kids love this place. It's a definite step up from your standard fast food (McDonalds/Burger King/etc), but still a basic fast food vibe.

Amazing food not a lot of seats in the winter. The service is great, the food comes out on good times fresh and hot. But it's kinda a little over priced for the food.

Highly recommend this location if you enjoy inattentive/rude staff, incorrect orders, overpriced and undersized menu item, items constantly out of stock, and being forced to communicate with technology rather than people

Came here for a quick dinner before a group game night. The place is clean, modern, and has patio seating. 5/5 for ambiance. The service was pretty quick. If you dine-in, you place your order on tablets and then pick a table and they'll bring it to you. The main reason the rating is a 3 is the burger portions are way smaller than expected and not worth the $10 a piece. Everyone was still hungry after. I got the hot chicken and it was not spicy at all. Overall, the flavors were fine. I like the flavor combinations but none of the spicy options had any kick to them. They also came out piping hot so I can say they were fresh. But I'm giving a 3/5 because I don't think I would end up coming back here when there are other options in the area.

Do not recommend this place, visited for the second time and never coming back. They incorrectly made the chicken sandwich added the wrong sauce, didn't put the sauce i asked for on the side, way under sized burgers, $4,49 for the French fries and less than mcdonald's small size.

Shake Shack is legendary for a reason-awesome burgers! But there's levels of awesome, right?! Shack Shacks level of awesome is quick, dirty, cheap. In terms of "fast food", this is the BEST of those burgers. In terms of fancy burgers, this is mid range. Their new "umami" Korean bbq sauce burger is good. Not anything you can find at the drive through of Portillos! They've jumped the tech train with electronic ordering. You assign yourself a table number and you order everything on a computer screen. It's easy with photos and plenty of information. I went with my older grandparents and they slowed down the line. But I imagine, for the most part, these are easy. This whole world is going people-less aren't they?! Test yourself to meat or a shake!

Food is OKAY at best, basically a gourmet Steak n Shake with Cheesecake Factory prices. I've been once and there's no need for me to visit again

This review is more like 3 1/2 stars. I visited here for lunch a few weeks back on a crappy snowy day. There were about 10 tables occupied. There seemed to a lot of pick up orders as there was a gent assigned to help people pick up there orders. As seen I order a Shack Burger and a patty for the little guy. My burger was fine, the fries were well done and everything else was fine. My little guy had 1/4 of the burger as he wasn't feeling it. So who knows on that one. The restaurant was a little messy and I was surprised given a few employees standing around by the registers and pick up area. I've been to a few SS's before and it always seemed like it was kept in order, tidied up. Not this location on this day. Plenty of parking lot parking is available!!

Shake Shack has one of the BEST fast-food burgers, and it's always consistently good! If red meat isn't your thing, they do offer a killer chicken sandwich, called the Chicken Shack, which has a nice crispy delicate coating of breading, which always has the perfect crunch. To be honest, it's my go-to. My boys love the burgers as always, and they can vouch that Shake Shack is one of their favorite fast food burgers there is.

I ordered several burgers to try out and overall it wasn't that much better than McDonald's. Quality- I liked the chicken burgers more than the beef burgers. The big piece of chicken is nice and the cole slaw compliments it well. However, the beef Patty is very salty, greasy, and thin. It falls apart easy and doesn't have much taste. Way too much bun compared to meat. Quantity- not worth it for the price. These are not worth it for 10 dollars Service- self serve kiosks have long lines. Atmosphere- tables aren't clean when I got here to sit down.

Definitely not the place we remembered, throughout Covid we ate here averaged 3X a week, the burgers and chicken fresh and substantial, now the buns smaller and the chicken doesn't even fill out the bun and is dry like a desert! And $7 for a tiny cheese fry? What?! For the cost they definitely need to do better and the flavor was non existent. Sorry Shake Shack, we used to love you!

I never really got the appeal about Shake Shack. I've been to different locations and it was always busy. I went to Shake Shack on a Wed because there was a coupon for like a free meal. They were decent burgers and fries but the portion size was small. I had a burger and fries and felt okay. I probably could have eaten 2 meals here at double the price. We had the regular shackburger, Korean bbq burger, bacon cheese fries, and spicy Korean bbq cheese fries. Shackburger was good, meat wasn't dry. Good flavor. The Korean bbq burger wasn't anything special. Nothing that would really distinguish it from the other burgers except for the crispy sweet onions and the sauce. I had real Korean bbq before, so I didn't get any nostalgia from eating it. To be honest, the smokeshack has a more memorable taste with its applewood smoked bacon and chopped cherry peppers. Both of the fries were tasty but not a lot. I would have been happier going to a Burger King and getting more for less.

Forgot the sauce on my nuggets completely ruined my lunch . They're always forgetting items I hate i always have to double check I come to this establishment

Store looked fairly clean and food came out ok. Shake and a basic burger - portion size was really small on the burger for the price. No option to order from a person - 3 kiosks with touchscreens which is fine I guess. They were out of anything with avocado which was half the reason I came so that was disappointing. Finished doing my order myself on the kiosk - then the company has the balls to ask for a TIP. Not one employee has even said hi to me, let alone provided any service and I should choose to pay more for my meal so you could cut some employees out of their jobs to save costs and make more money by asking me to tip for that?? Also no napkins in my takeout bag - saved some cash there too I guess. Incredibly greedy. Won't be coming back.

Wow, $31 for 3 single burgers and 2 orders of fries and no drinks. I had to place my own order and bus my table. All for mediocre, over cooked burgers! Never again

Great location! Very nice interior with plenty of seating, and the service is relatively quick.

This meal was Mediocre. The best thing about it was the vanilla Milkshake. The hot ones wasn't spicy enough in my opinion, the chicken bites had breading that didn't stick so it just kept falling apart. The burger is as good as what you get at any fast food. Overall, this wasn't bad but it was just ok. Not sure I would be back anytime soon.

I was ordering my food at the kiosk. The kiosk wasn't reading any chips on any of my cards, nor was it recognizing the "tap" credit card payment. There were tons of workers standing in the back doing nothing. I tried flagging them down. No one came to assist. I cursed loudly and walked out. They didn't notice.

Food is really small the burger was like a slider it literally was a slider bun. I asked for a avocado burger and got ONE SLICE of avocado the burger was about 4 bites and not even filling, for almost 22$ it's not even worth it drinks are extremely sweet fries are pretty good and the workers were really friendly so extra stars for them.

This is one step above a McDonalds for 10 times the price. $73 for two adults and a child to have 3 burgers, 2 shakes, and 2 fries. It's mind blowing that they had so many customers. Never again.

It's shake shack. As fast food burgers go, this place is the easy favorite. I don't get the In & Out hype. SS is superior in every possible way. From their burgers (sans sauce) and crinkle fries to their customer service to their concretes made from pies from local pie shops. It's all happiness in my mouth. I'm so fortunate that they now have this location in Oak Brook. Visiting one in the burbs with ample parking makes this an easier choice than the west loop, where I always went before. When my kid gets to pick and she pics SS, I think I might be as excited as she is.

Delicious!! First visit and loved it. The burger patty, bun, bacon, cheese everything hit the spot. We splurged and all got shakes (fam of 6) and the custard was amazing!!! Highly recommend giving it a try. Surprised to see only 3 stars! They sell alcohol too and very unique pilsners.pilsner. (the one call out the bathrooms were a mess with paper towels all over)

Stopped by this location for the first time. We have had meals at Shake Shack elsewhere and looked forward to our meal. The chicken sandwich was good as expected. Bacon and cheese fries are good, but a small portion for the price. Dining room was not being cleaned and needed. Bathroom was such a mess my wife chose to wait until we were home.

Ordered a smokestack online with a vanilla custard and it was so easy to do the contactless pick-up! It was slightly confusing at first when you first get there since there's not that clear of signage to direct you to where the food is, but it wasn't too hard to fine after asking. Smokestack was absolutely bomb, especially after a long day at work and I absolutely devoured the custard before I got home. Definitely will be going back soon, the app is super easy to use!

Experience: With a party of two before closing, we were able to order and receive our food fairly quickly. Parking: Being that this Shake Shack is technically part of the Oakbrook Mall, there is plenty of parking. So no worries about that. However, I am unsure how it is during the weekend. Like everything else, it may be difficult but not impossible. Worth: I gave this specific Shake Shack 5 stars mostly because of their staff. Even though we came 15 minutes before closing, they were still professional and friendly. On top of that, we even dined in. Of course we finished our food fairly quickly, they did not rush us at all. The staff definitely the best! Also the venue was really nice and of course the food was good. We had the Buffalo chicken Sandwhich, shrimp burger, fries, and a shake (as pictured below). Of course my favorite is the root beer. If you haven't had the root beer, please try it!

I wish I could put zero stars, they refused to take our order with the credit card and made us do it ourselves. Then we were trying to do it ourselves and it was taking forever. Then the lady continued to take the people order next to us with their credit card. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! I'm so done with lazy people!!!!

Food was good but....... Way too small and way too expensive. Shakes also good but also way too small for the price. Relatively clean. I say relatively because the two tables I wanted to sit at were dirty. Looked like they had plenty of people working to take care of this. So, good taste but way too small.

For a place named SHAKE shack totally unimpressed. Large shake is so small. Not worth almost 6$ I ordered mine with Malt and couldn't taste the difference between my husbands chocolate shake and my chocolate malt. Basic soft serve in a cup. Husband got the Shack Burger and he said it was good. Won't make it a point to visit the one we have closer to home.

Food was prepared exactly as requested, but hated that there were only self service tablets to order from. When you have allergies it was very difficult to use especially if you are 74 years old with limited tech skills.

Excellent plant based portobello sandwich and plant based milkshake. Totally worth the dough. It's pricy but so yummy.

Customers service here is always on point. Very friendly. The food is good when I crave a good smash burger this place is definitely within the top 5 places I consider

First time there. Tried a strawberry shake. $6 for a shake and they charge 50 cents more fora squirter of Whipped cream?? Definitely won't be going back. Shake didn't even have strawberry flavor to it. Disappointed

Food was good but they gave our food to people twice if you think it's your food wave to waiter to ensure it doesn't go to a random table

We love SS. But this one? Dirty tables, not busy. Staff at counter? It's funny isn't it? when ppl see you in need of assistance and yet they just act as if they don't see you?? Do they train them to be un proactive these days? The burger was on point but the fries? tasted as if they had been par cooked then over cooked very dried out.

Reliable and delicious Shake Shack!! It's definitely not a low priced fast food burger, not by a long shot! Great location without the over-crowding at North Bridge Shops location. Parking is dicey on Randolph. But if you are picking up, there's always a spot to put the flashers on and run in. Burgers can be made according to your specs. If it's not right, let them know. The Chicken Shack is also on my list. It's juicy and thick. And the shakes...did I mention the shakes? Great! I'd prefer more fries with an order. That's probably my only con. I'm done.

The order was done on time BUT left two things out. I went to "Uber Eats " table to grab the bag and realized it's missing a milkshake. How can I not notice I'm missing a milkshake right? I went to the section by the kitchen to check and they gave it back to me. Fine. I went back to my car and checked the order again. It was missing my Shack Stack! The most expensive burger on the menu! My gosh. I went back to the section by the kitchen and they have to make it for me on the spot. Now C'MoN.....!!!!! If didn't check and went home , I would be VERY angry because everyone in my family would get a burger except me! Oh and my milkshake melted completely because of their lack of diligence. 2 mistakes in an order ... yeah.

I was in town for a convention for work and staying across the street so I thought I'd give it a try. Never had Shake Shack before and was looking forward to it since many people proclaim it to be the best. It's not. It was Steak and Shake patties, burned and too salty. The fries were generic crinkle cut. The strawberry shake was good. A very average burger experience. And, for $21, I expect better. I'll stick with 5 Guys.

The restaurant was clean and the ambiance was nice, but the food is very overpriced and nothing special. My wife had a hot dog and I had a bacon avacodo burger with fries and 2 lemonades. The bill was $36.00 and the hot dog was served plain. When I asked for some onions and relish they gave me a French fry bag with an onion slice and about 5 pickle slices. Had to try it once, but not impressed and won't be back,

We hadn't been to eat here for a long time and I wanted to try them out again since I didn't remember why we stopped visiting. As soon as I walked in the house with the food, hubby reminded me why. He remembered the strange smell of the chicken strips. I smelled it too and my son refused to eat them. We ended up throwing them all out. The burger was ok but hubby said he didn't like their sauce too much. The shake was just ok. I don't think we'll be returning here again.

Good burger, great cheese fries. Busy places with a big outdoor patio. Usually, it's pretty quick, service. If you're looking to sit and relax, this might not be your spot.

This is a tough review for me.. We've been to Shake Shack a handful of times. They take gluten allergies seriously and we appreciate that so much. Their gluten free buns are the unicorn of buns, so soft. If you have celiac or gluten issues, you know good buns are so hard to find. And their cheese fries are amazing. Here's where my lost star comes in.. I decided to cut some carbs today and order my burger lettuce wrapped. Our order took so long, that the people who had ordered before us received their order, ate, and had left before we got ours. My lettuce was wilted and soggy, probably from sitting so long, and the burger was missing the bacon. I tried to pick it up to eat it, but it completely fell apart. Even the paper bag it came in shredded from being so soggy. I ended up just taking off the lettuce and eating it with a fork and knife. This one incident won't keep us away, we still love Shake Shack. I just won't order nor recommend anyone order the lettuce wrapped burger.
