Shake Shack Rochester Hills

First heard of Shake Shack in D.C. several years ago. Then they opened where I lived in Florida. Now I find them in my digs in SE Michigan. Cool beans. About time I get to a review then. This location has kiosks. I'm not a huge fan but I do see upsides to them: order customization & accuracy, getting multiple orders at a time, avoiding tip-flation concerns, etc. The menus on these 4 kiosks work well, better than several others I've had to deal with. Was able to place my order easily with no salt on the fries selected. As part of the ordering process you grab a # (for the younger generations, that's a number not a hash tag. For the older ones, it's not a pound sign or octothorpe 😁). Food was delivered a few minutes later, hot enough that a moment's pause was needed. Fries have a good exterior crunch. The burger is well-made, not overly sauced and sloppy, not dry either. Just right, Red. Next time, a shake is needed. The space is big, open, not loud but with some echoing. A bit impersonal though.

A good fast food joint in the Rochester Village Mall that used to be Meadowbrook. Came in for a quick lunch while shopping at the mall. We liked the burgers, for how fast they came up, they were better than a typical fats food burger. The fries were also perfectly salty and crispy. The shake was good and not as sweet as we were expecting. The food came out fast and has a self serving terminal but we really didn't interact with any staff so it's hard to say how the service is. The atmosphere is modern and reminds of a Chipotle which is nothing special. It just is what it is. Overall not bad and I would recommend it for a quick bite.

The food is always perfect. The service is always perfect. And the facilities are always spotless. The folks at the Rochester Hills location have always been friendly and efficient, and today's order was no different. I walked in to pick up the order I had placed on the app, and asked if I could add a soda to my order. The manager stepped in and saw that I was kind of rushed/stressed, and he gave me my soda for free. With a big smile. This gentleman had no idea how much I needed a little bit of kindness and generosity today, and I am grateful.

I really like this location because they always have good burgers. My favorite is the double shack. Also their milkshakes are so creamy and delicious. The staff is nice. They also have vegetarian options and GF buns. Which is a plus. I will be coming back.

we ordered an online order from their website, when the food arrived over an hour later the order was incomplete. when we called the store the woman would not honor the incomplete order and said take it up with DoorDash who couldn't find the order. Bad business practice, they need to stand by their product and if the outsourced delivery company is causing a service problem they need to either own it or fire them

I absolutely love their food. It's like our go-to spot for fast food burgers of chicken sandwiches. The people working are always nice and happy as well. The place is typically pretty dirty though. Most of the tables are pretty gross if they're any kind of busy, and there are splatters on the walls that have been there longer than I've been eating there. You'd think that for as much as they charge for the food, which is pretty exorbitant for what you're getting, they'd manage to schedule someone for a few hours a week to clean the place up a bit. Really does bring the vibe down a little. Food does not travel well, so I'd probably avoid take-out or delivery

The burger and truffle fries were very tasty. Only thing I can say when I picked up the phone it was not had as I wanted it to be, but besides that it good.

Good burger and good crinkle fries. The only thing I regret is not getting a milk shake haha. Ordering kiosk is easy to use and food came out rather quickly. Inside is cool atmosphere with lots of TVs . Overall everything was good.

I think I'm a champion of Shake Shack now because I come here so much. I should probably buy some stock so I can get my return on investment. I am still absolutely obsessed with this place. Now that it's warm out, you have the option to dine outside which is nice and relaxing. They play music so it's not so dull outside. I love their convenient walk up window. Service is quick and convenient. I like self check out devices. They have 4 to accommodate guests and if needed they can ring you up at the register. They have the best food, shakes, and fruit drinks/lemonades. I'm still sad they got rid of the peanut butter shake. They had the best one out there and I haven't found anything like it. It was amazing and I miss you peanut butter shake. I love you Shake Shack! No one can make me hate you. Ever.

Big, beautiful, sterile environment. The personnel were very kind and helpful. At 62 I am so frustrated trying to order my food from a computer and my 85 year old mom...well, forget about it! I had to ask one of the employees to help me 3 times as I attempted to order and pay with a card (I 100% prefer paying with cash!) then I had to enter all kinds of crap like seat #, my name, blah, blah - God, I hate these self order things - THEN they ask if I want to TIP! WTH, TIP ME for doing someone's job! Now that my rant is over I will say this was my first time to Shake Shack and I loved it, sans dang self-order B.S. The burgers were fresh and delicious! I don't know what they do with the meat but it tasted so fresh and good. The fries were so/so and the shake was so/so but the burgers were so good. I was surprised since the name of the place has shake in it that they just had 3 shakes to choose from, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry there were 'out of' 2 flavored shakes - What the what - how the hey can a shake place be out of the flavored shakes? I'm told by fast-food restaurant employees that they sometimes say they are out of popular items on a menu as they do not want to deal with that item, i.e. clean up or whatever; let's hope that isn't the case here. Our strawberry shake was on the thin side and it lacked whip cream but it was a very creamy, delicious shake. Their condiment bar was fully supplied and very clean. I found the seating to be very uncomfortable. I brought a cushion for mom to sit on as her arthritis simply will not allow her to sit on hard surfaces. Overall, the prices were high but the quality of ingredients was very good.

On my only visit to this location it was during a very busy holiday event at the Village. The restaurant was filled with high school age students that were hanging out with friends. We were lucky to snag a table after we placed our order. I ordered two malts and an order of chicken nuggets that came to $19. The malts were good. I like that you could get malt that was half chocolate and half vanilla. The small box of nuggets had maybe 5-6 pieces of quite tasty chicken. Next time around I'll try the chicken sandwich. I can't say I'm a fan of the no cash at the time of ordering as the only option.

Love this fast food place. I order here all the time and they NEVER miss. The inside is cute too.

Simply scrumptious. The avocado bacon burger was light yet filling. The self ordering kiosk provided great service. Quick and clean.

Only giving 2 stars because the actual meat isn't revolting! I thought I ordered a lettuce wrap, but turns out I ordered chicken with a few pieces of lettuce on the top and bottom. This happened a couple months ago too when I got one. I don't know why I thought it would be any different this time. Can the manager please teach these employees how to do their job? Thanks.

Shake Shack has decent tasting food compared to competitors but lately the pricing is just becoming too much. This seems to be the trend but more so here. Burger quality is good, buns don't have much flavor. Fries are sometimes too hard.

Burger was nice and fresh, chicken bites were perfectly battered. I'm not typically one for smoothies but the strawberry certainly hit the spot!

I really like shake shack, but this was so disappointing. I felt sick after eating this and this will probably ruin my experience to liking shake shack now. Another burger we had was also a little pink, but this one was way worse. Every other time I've ate here I loved it and had no issues, so I'm very disappointed.

Nothing like finding hair on your food (chicken tender) .. .. worker told everyone to wear a hair net .. when they brought another order was told a manager would come and speak with me, but the manager never came out. Never coming back to this place.

One of my favorite burger places and its always clean and friendly. Very friendly professional staff and consistent food quality that i prefer. Not a fan of hit or miss fast food places. I like the steak burgers and this company has been around almost a century. The meat is round, sirloin, and T-bone cuts so its very juicy and tasty. I read a person can open a franchise in 2018 of Steak n' Shake for $10,000 under a new franchise program vs Wendy's $2 million dollar price tag. Under the new terms the franchise keeps 50% of the stores profits with the rest going to corporate. We will definitely be back. Interesting restaurant with a interesting story and history.

Update since we came here last for the opening, we had a really great experience. This time we were able to take the time and sit down to eat in person. I really like the vibe of this place. They had some good music playing. It was very family friendly. They placed a few large screen TVs around to watch and have a fooseball table in the center. Fun! It is not a huge dinning area, but it seemed to have about equal dine-in, carryout, and food delivery pick ups, so it was not an issue to find a spot on a Saturday night. You can either order from the kiosk or face to face. The individuals who worked here were very friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They seemed to go the extra mile with making sure we had a good experience. This time we tried the limited Buffalo chicken sandwich, which was nice and spicy but delicious. I still stand by Shake Shack winning the chicken sandwich wars. We had the Buffalo spiced cheese fries, also very good. There was a nice ranch sauce that came on the side but I am not entirely sure if it was for the sandwich or the fries, but I am sure you could order it if it does not come with. We also tried their chocolate pudding pie shake which was amazing. They made it nice and thick so we ate it with spoons. The oatmeal was blended inside the shake, and the crispy croissant cookies were sprinkled on top. We also had the lychee punch, which was very refreshing. I am not sure when they got these, but they now sell the wine in little cans and added a rose. I did not have them, but this is great for a carryout since you would be able to take the can home and try it. I would love to try their rose. I've enjoyed the white in the past and wonder if it is still as good in the can, and I have never tried the red, but I would be likely to try it if I could take it home. We also had a couple burgers, one classic and one shack stack with the mushroom. The meat was very well cooked and delicious. I also love the location since we frequent the bookstore nearby.

Love that Shake Shack has hits Rochester Hills! Our first visit was purely just for shakes. The inside has high ceilings with a pretty large dining area to the left. The color scheme and decor is bright and inviting. There are a few tv's and a foosball table. There were four kiosks but only one was working. There also was one person on the register. Plus a walk-up window from the outside. There is a condiment area but no serve yourself pop station. However, there was serve yourself water that is tripled filtered water. It took a while to get our shakes. Noticed that our shakes were ready but instead of handing them off, a staff put them in the freezer to keep cool while other orders ahead of us were being made. Straws are compostable. To the right of the pickup area was orders from 3rd parties like door dash, etc. Our shakes were delicious. The cup size is tinier than your other fast food shakes but the flavors and quality is much better.

Crappiest service I've had in so long. Can't get your own refills. They ask for tips when you're ordering your own food. If you care at all about a dollar value for your meal avoid this place like the plague. Won't be back to this store or franchise. Just get Wendy's. It's better tasting too. Edit... had to come back I'm just annoyed now - eating my food. And who the hell wants to sit at a baby's picnic table? I'm over 6ft and don't fit in any of the tables. Except the tall 2 person tables... which again are to fit babies 6ft in the air. Terrible

Shake Shack is so smart. They truly made the best business decision opening up a Shake Shack location in The Village, replacing the Xfinity store (total upgrade btw), and being literally 3 miles away from me. It's a terrible decision for my body and my bank account, but very smart for Shake Shack's business because you BEST believe that I've already been there 3 times since they opened LAST WEEK! Danger! DANGER! I freaking love Shake Shack. Hands down my favorite "fast food," although it's more considered fast casual given the fact that they don't have drive-thru locations. What this Shake Shack location offers that none of the other Shake Shack's in Michigan offers so far though is that they have the absolute most adorable pick up window you can walk up to and pick up your to-go meals. This is what I've opted for the past 3 times given that I've just run out on my lunch break during work to grab a quick meal. It allows me to avoid the lines inside, which so far haven't been nearly as bad as when they first opened up in Detroit and Troy, but is also sad because this means I haven't even seen the inside of this Shake Shack yet! I'm sure I'll get there at some point, but thus far, I absolutely have been loving and taking full advantage of the pick up window. Placing an order on the Shake Shack app beforehand, setting what time you want to pick it up, then just walking up to this window is so great. The parking lot directly outside of Shake Shack is small, but there is plenty of parking throughout the entire Village, so there's really never going to be a parking issue here. The food is absolutely delicious. Their quality is so consistent so I have really seen no difference between all the locations, including this newly opened location. Everything on the menu is incredible and definitely keep you eyes peeled because they often roll out new, limited menu items that are always so tasty as well. Last month, they had a whole collaboration on their shakes with MILK BAR. Those shakes were out of this world. This month, there's a literal black truffle BURGER and black truffle sauce that you can dip your crinkle cut fries into. My goodness, it was insanely delicious. I'm a huge fan all around. My go-tos are their smash burgers, the crinkle cut fries, alllllll the extra sides of Shack sauce, and all their chicken products, especially their chicken bites. I don't know how they do it, but they truly have the best chicken around. Welcome to Rochester, Shake Shack! SEE YOU AGAIN SOOOOOON!

Ordered a burger and spicy cheese fries. Food arrived cold (maybe GrubHub's fault). Fries had almost no cheese on them and no spicy seasoning at all (advertised as including both) Side cup of spicy dipping sauce was less than 1/4 full. Seems like whoever prepared this food doesn't care at all about quality. Even for fast food this is bad.

This was my first time ever going into a Shake Shack. My daughter said they had good shakes, and since we were shopping in the Village of Rochester anyway, wanted to check it out. My first impression was how huge it was. One side seemed to be the ordering area, and then another area had seating, lots of windows throughout, fuse ball table for an activity. Some high top tables that seemed to get filled with college age kids, vibe definitely was a younger crowd inside. Got pretty packed after we sat down with our food. Cashier was friendly, atmosphere-industrial vibe. Lots of people coming here. Don't recall name of the shake I purchased as it was Dec . 30th 2021 when we went...but it was Delicious!! Would go there again just for the shake flavors! The smokestack sandwich seemed a bit small for the price($7.49)but it packed a punch with flavor-the chopped cherry peppers were awesome. This was a nice spot while out shopping in Rochester Hills.

Went with my son and daughter. I wanted to order Bourbon Bacon Cheddar Burger but it was sold out :( . I ended up ordering a smoke stack and pop, my daughter ordered a shack stack and an apple cider donut shake, and my son got a smoke stack with no cherry peppers,pop and spicy cheese fries. The burgers were good and my daughter liked her shake. The cherry peppers were too sour, so if you want, you can just have it on the side coz they do have a heavy hand when they put it in your burger. My son knew so he didn't put any. The spicy cheese fries were good too if you like spicy. Tip: have the fries well done for extra crispy fries. So good!

Yep, those are burgers. Just like every other shake shack- nothing too special. Can be a little salty, but nothing inedible.

Great atmosphere, customer service is amazing. I loved how friendly they were when ordering my food. They always prepare their food looking very tasty and organized well! I will come here again over and over!!

We've carried out from Shake Shack pretty much weekly since they opened. The burgers are great, the shakes are dangerously good, and the service has been awesome. Every order has been on time and handed off with a smile and a thank you. Definitely an upgrade from the other burger places along Adams Rd. I'd like to ding them a star for dissing Chicken Shack, but so far, they've earned 'em all!

Great! My truffle burger and blood orange lemonade was awesome. The food came out fast. I will most definitely return to try the milk shake and the shroom burger

This Shake Shack location has been open less than a month, but it is a well-oiled machine. This location has ample seating and was fairly clean, although, no staff were cleaning tables in the dining room. We self-ordered via tablet and the wait was approx 10-15 mins for our order. The food doesn't disappoint. The Truffle burger is a great mix of rich flavors with a perfect amount of crunch from the onion strands. The French fries are krinkle cut and fresh. I also had an Oreo shake, which comes nice and thick. This location also offers an outdoor walk-up pick up window.

I'm not sure why there is so much hype is about this place. I had fries and a couple of chicken nuggets, the food was really heavy and left a bad aftertaste. My friend had a regular burger and couldn't get through eating a quarter of it. When I picked up the order, I had to go back to the counter to ask for my missing item...even though the receipt lists the item in the order. Well, I've had the experience of eating at a Shake Shake once, I'm good.

Awesome burger. Truly fantastic. Tasty, crisp crinkle fries, pretty good shake. Service was a bit...underwhelming? Detached? Crew kind of did their own thing and pretty much ignored all the customers. Easy to do when most guests order remotely at a kiosk, the only interaction is when they hand you your tray. That said, I took away a star for the horrible seats in this place.really awful, hard, wood chairs that lean back from the table when you sit down. At least the dining area was nice and clean. too many decent burger places in the area to make the effort to go back to sit on those torture devices,

We've been to the new location a few times now. The first couple times it was pretty good and fresh. The last time we were in, there was a lot of guests just waiting around and our online order was given to us about 20 minutes after we got there. Although the food was good, it was frustrating standing there watching people who had ordered as we got there, getting their food before we did. I was surprised no body was checking f people in or even asked if we had been helped yet. All in all, the food is good, they just need to finish working out the kinks as a new restaurant.

It took forever for the order to come out, but after a 25 minute wait, everyone was pleased with their meal. It was fresh tasting and seemed like premium ingredients.

Delicious burgers and shakes though of course it is not the cheapest burger around. I will definitely go back. I enjoyed the smoke shack burger a lot and we all agreed the shakes were just about the best we ever had - they actually had good flavor of chocolate and strawberry.

Cost way too much for the small burgers we got. We went to a sit down restaurant (with waitress) the night before and that cost less than Shake Shack! Limited menu as well. Would not go back.

This Shake Shack location is a huge disappointment. The food is okay, but over priced and always wrong. I have ordered over five times and it is consistently incorrect, despite my receipt showing the correct order. I have ordered and paid for a bacon cheese burger, it came with no bacon. Paid for two double cheese burgers and received singles. I have specified no sauce and still revived sauce. The management doesn't answer the phone and when they finally reach out, they acted as though the mistakes were my fault. I ordered over the app and pre paid. There is nothing more aggravating then paying for something I did not receive. If you are in the mood for a burger, I recommend you go elsewhere.

Let me start off by saying I'm never the one to write bad reviews on places. Or simply write reviews in general.... I FEEL LIKE A KAREN!!! BUT this place deserves some type of recognition...If I could give 0 stars I would. Ive NEVER. encountered such a rude group of people. I called to get my order changed/canceled NO ANSWER. called multiple times & got HUNG UP ON. then I decided it would be most beneficial to just pick up my order in person and ask for a SINGLE ITEM REFUND to my parents card. I politely asked on how I could fix this issue and the manager completely disregarded my concerns. (walked away mid conversation and kept saying she couldn't do anything) I asked A SECOND time and was told to replace my order through the app. THEN. the owner of the store shows up throwing coupons at me STILL NOT ADDRESSING MY CONCERNS... stating I was being disrespectful to his manager. I apologized said that wasn't my intention all. and I wanted to know HOW I CAN FIX THIS? Ive never written a bad review ever but honestly I can't believe the treatment that I endured when I was there. MANAGEMENT IS SHIT. The burgers are shitty. The fries are shitty. The chicken bites are shitty. Everything is overpriced!!!! (I PAID $100 due to their f*ck up/error) This place is ONE step up from McDonalds. save your money and go to burgrz. or ANY other fast-casual restaurant. Im legit so disappointed.

I've been waiting to try this place for a little bit now. Great atmosphere and great staff. The food was pretty good. The shakes were really good. But the only thing is was the prices. The prices were really high for what you get. I mean my family of three went in, and got burgers, fries, and a shake and it came out to 55 dollars. It wasn't a lot of food. Burgers were small, fries was like a small fry, and the shake was small too. Probably won't be coming back. I could go to Culver's and get double the amount of stuff for less money.

I love this place. First time customer, have my next visit planned and already know my next order. Shakes are UNREAL. If you don't get a shake, you're missing out. The kids chicken, truffle fries, shackburger, and chicken shack all very good. 10/10 will be back asap

am currently eating probably the best chicken sandwich i have ever had in my entire life. this is the best experience that i have ever had in my entire life. the atmosphere of the restedaunt heheh is so a+ awesome great i think this is the best experience i've ever had at a fast food restaurant. if i could give 6 stars or even 7 stars i would. the workers are the best!!!!!!! please get the lemonade and the hot dog, and i've heard their burrito ads the best. i think i saw a unicorn pooping rainbows in here once. i think that my wedding will be planned to be at the shake shack on adams road. please, if you are even conisidering coming to the shake shack on north adams road, you will surely not be disappointed.
